Classic Already 5 out of 5 stars.

This is one of my favorite television shows of all time, and they are cranking out seasons too fast for me, I just got Season One last month. This is perhaps my favorite season, season 2 was not as good in my opinion; alot of the "prison eps" I just couldn't get into, but maybe in time I will.

I could watch these over and over, nice commentary on select eps, always love the backstory on a favorite show, and to have it to watch whenever is great, commercial free of course who could top that?

These are characters I've grown to love, and many quotes and scenes are slowly slipping into my everyday life...it is absurd at times, maybe not THIS crazy, but you never know, Karma is a funny thing. Doing good things is not always the answer, but it's the hope that eventually it will is what perhaps keeps us going, and this show is just so hilarious and original that it keeps us entertained to the point we forget our problems anyway, nice escape into the world of Earl and the many characters of Camden County.

Editorial Review:

Karma is a funny thing. Just ask Earl (Jason Lee), who's learning the hard way that when you do something bad, it has a way of coming back and biting you in the ass! Hoping to turn his life around, Earl's got a lengthy list of detestable deeds to make up for. Also starring Jamie Pressly, Ethan Suplee, Eddie Steeples and Nadine Velazquez, My Name Is Earl is wildly offbeat and hilariously irreverent—the #1 new comedy of the season!

A great season of a geat show 4 out of 5 stars.

24 Season Four has Jack facing mid-eastern extremists. The plot is solid (as is the acting) and the action is just plain awesome. As common to 24 however, there are a lot of things that happen that are quite frustrating :p. But really this is a great season of 24 and worth watching whether you are a fan or not.

On a side note, I got my slim pack of Season 4 at a sale at an electonics store, I can't believe the ridiculous price Amazon is asking for these slim packs online.

Editorial Review:

Emmy nominated for Best Drama series, 24 Season 4 is considered by fans and critics to be the best season yet. Starring Keifer Sutherland in his Emmy nominated role as Jack Bauer, 24 Season 4 received the highest broadcast ratings of the series' 4 year history.

The loaded 7-disk set includes a ground-breaking extra, shot on location during Season 5 production, which bridges Season 4 with Season 5 and gives clues about what is to come. 24 Season 4 on DVD is the only place to follow every moment of suspense, mystery and action of this worldwide smash hit television show!

Beautiful! 5 out of 5 stars.

I liked Season 1, but I LOVE Season 2. In the first season, you kind of get to know the girls in a one-dimensional way -- Holly the house mother, Bridget the super-cute semi-intellectual and Kendra the not-too-bright sports fan.

This time around, there is a lot more to see and learn. Not only do the girls show their gorgeous bodies way more this time, but you also get a more rounded view of who they are. Who would have guessed that Kendra actually has a brain? Mind you, just when you're beginning to think that she might just be the next Einstein, hiding away a super-intellect behind the dumb-blonde facade, she comes out with something mind-numbingly stupid (and quite sincere) to dispel that notion! On the other hand, she's always very pleasant to look at, and you get to see much more of her in this season than the first. Bridget, the most beautiful of the three, shows off her goofy side this time, but she's still just as adorable.

The highlight of the season is when the girls get their second Playboy photo-shoot. This time around, in addition to the standard session as per Hef's wishes, the girls get to show their creative side. Each one chooses her own theme and directs the shoot, featuring herself and the other two girls. Holly chooses a Marilyn Monroe theme, Bridget indulges her love of King Kong, and in Kendra's case, it's American Football (what else?). They do such a great job of it that contrary to their own expectations (and his) Hef actually loves their work and decides to feature their projects in the magazine. There is way more and better nudity this season, and along with the way we get to know the girls, this makes for the perfect package.

Reba is a great series and one the whole family can enjoy. Great actors/actresses!

Hilarious sitcom about an unlikely family... 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Reba McEntire stars as Reba Hart, a mother of three whose husband Brock (Christopher Rich) has recently left her for his dental assistant -- who is pregnant. To complicate matters, Reba's just discovered her 17-year-old daughter Cheyanne is also expecting.

Before she knows it, Reba's got a new son-in-law, Van (Steve Howey), who she's helping support while he and Cheyanne (Joanna Garcia) struggle to finish high school before the birth of their child. Meanwhile, Reba's youngest, Jake, is only seven; and smart, sarcastic middle child Kyra (Scarlett Pomers) acts out from the pressures of being the only sane person around.

As if things weren't complicated enough, Reba is forced to deal with Brock's new wife, Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman), a ditzy blonde who idolizes Reba and just doesn't seem to understand why they can't be best friends.

What's a woman to do? Most in Reba's situation would fall apart, but not her. Even when things are at their darkest, Reba's wit allows her to laugh and see the good -- though in no way is her character, or the show, sappy or sentimental. Rather, the imperfect Hart family strives to live each day to the fullest, making the best of each day however they can.

Give this show a try -- I guarantee you'll be hooked instantly!

one of the very best of the series 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Ive been trying to keep some kind of record of each episode of the x-files (of which there were nine seasons) for some time now but with little success. This is a geeky thing for me to do firstly because of the series itself (sci fi, alien abductions anyone?) and also just trying to provide a summary for a show that had some 180 plus episodes is a little bit obsessive. The problem seems to be that I put on an episode (I have alot of time because I am now unemployed yes?) and then I potter around, fix a coffee, my hair, my lunch and have no idea as to what's gone on with the aliens. I can just about remember whether what Ive seen is either a 'mythological' or 'stand alone' episode. Mythological tales begun with Fox Mulder's sister being abducted by non- humans when he was a child and then general alien related stories which always effect Mulder and Dana Scully is some emotional and physical way. Stand alone episodes are about everything elses and can be silly, funny, ironic, frightening, complicated, dull; you get the point. They are always resloved in the same episode.

I'm currently watching Season 7 and have worked my way here starting with season 1 in season order. I watched the first 5 seasons when they originally aired. Looking at them now they seem dated and crude; the chemistry between Mulder and Scully which is really the defining point of the show, undeveloped. By season 6 I'd begun to actually stop experimenting with my hair and was sitting down watching the show. When I took out season 7 from the box I realised that I already knew many of the episodes from title and was very familiar to the plots and had enjoyed many of the episodes already. See our heros had really begun to fully inhabite their charaters and the emotional dynamic between the two had well truly taken off. I think this season is also the one in which Mulder leaves, to come back only for those 'Myth' episodes and the series final. So a beautifully acted season, funny and engaging and fully realised.

Seeing the 9th season through the lens of time 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I have finally compiled the entire nine seasons of X-Files on DVD, a goal I have had for some time, mainly in the interest of completeness. I was pleased and surprised when viewing seasons 8 and 9 this year to be impressed by the excellent casting of Robert Patrick (John Doggett) and Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes) and riveted by the increasing intensity of the storyline.
When I watched the original shows on TV, like most people, I was still focused on "Mulder's not here, and the show is not as good." Now, years later, instead of Mulder's absence being a negative, it is a strong tension-builder that drives the intensity of the remaining actors, especially the underrated Robert Patrick.
I plan to re-watch season 9 soon! I highly recommend it.

Editorial Review:

Now you can own the entire ninth season of THE X-FILES?. All 19 classic episodes (including the 2-hour series finale) are available for the first time in this exclusive 7-disc collector?s edition. From the revelation about Scully?s baby in ?Nothing Important Happened Today? and the mystery surrounding the murder of Agent Doggett?s son in ?Release? to Mulder?s final confrontation with those who would deny ?The Truth,? these Season Nine episodes are a must for every X-Files fan!

Not the best season but still funny. 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

That '70s Show - Season Seven isn't a standout season, there were a lot of changes this season, Topher Grace left the show at the end of this season. Donna colors her gorgeous red hair blonde (and she still has it that way!) Fez and Kelso become roommates, and Hyde finds out his biological father is African-American (one of the dumbest decisions ever made on this show!). There are some good episodes but a lot of plots feel empty and forced. Season eight is a lot worse than seven but this show is truly creative.

My reviews 4 out of 5 stars.

If you like the "That '70s Show you will enjoy this season 7. Lots of fun.

Should had been the last season 4 out of 5 stars.

The writting was slipping A little in this season compaired to the first 6.
But it was still A good season.Season 7 was the last season for the original cast And thats why it should had been the last season ever

If only this were the final season 5 out of 5 stars.

Many fans of That 70's Show wish this was the final season, as the show limped through a disappointing 8th. But there was definitely no drop-off in the quality here. Buy the DVD's, because you'll want to watch them over and over, and the syndicated re-runs only show some episodes.

VERY VERY VERY GOOD DON WILSON

Editorial Review:

It takes a lot of heart to keep a family like this one together. Country music superstar Reba McIntyre is back as Reba Hart, and as always, keeping the peace in her household is one hilarious challenge after another. Amid Brock and Barbara Jean's marital troubles, Cheyenne's personal struggles, Van's career crisis, and Kyra's growing pains, Reba somehow manages to keep the whole family functioning at a level just above dysfunctional. A little love, it turns out, goes a long way. Vibrant, touching, and laugh-out-loud funny, Season Four of Reba has it all!

The Seaview returns after too long a liberty. 5 out of 5 stars.
12 of 12 people found this review helpful.

Finally, Fox Home Entertainment is making good it their promise to finish the run of the class seafaring SF adventure "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea." No doubt we will be treated to the same high quality transfers, with sharp picture, vibrant colors and amazing sound. However, the real reason to smile is in the episodes themselves.

After what could be called a "guilty pleasure" year, Voyage returned with a surprise fourth season, a surprise to the actors as well as the audience, who all thought the show would be cancelled. However, fortune and funny accounting kept Voyage on the air another year and, to some degree, Irwin Allen improved the series somewhat from its prior year.

While the series would not hit the heights of its first two seasons again with any regularity, some true gems cropped up this year as monsters took a break for a while.

The season kicked off in grand style with "Fires of Death." This episode , which shaky in the plot department, boasted amazing sets depicting the inside of an active volcano. There is no doubt this is the reason why this episode was chosen to open the season rather than the vastly superior "Man of Many Faces", which was the first episode shot. However, the episode moves along at a brisk pace with legendary actor Victor Jory appearing as Dr. Turner, an alchemist with an obsession for unearthing "elixir stones" - the key to his immortality. Star David Hedison is absent for the last two thirds of the episodes, owing to an appearance on a variety show. The supporting cast gets to step up and take the reassigned lines and screen time. The result is a unique episode in the Voyage canon with amazing SFX for the time.

"The Deadly Dolls" follows, a classic bizarre episode starring Vincent Price as Dr. Multiple, an evil alien puppet master. The highlights of this episode include a rather cheerful atmosphere, amazing background score by composer Harry Geller and the amazing "Nelson Puppet." Voiced by Richard Basehart (obviously having fun) and looking like a Kroft Puppet, this character is a riot, popping in and out, dropping one liners and generally making a menace of himself. The result is a nonsensical but genuinely fun episode in the vein of the classic Avengers TV series.

"Cave of the Dead" stands out as an eerie tale of ghostly sea lore and evil curses, with Warren Stevens making his third and final appearance in Voyage as Van Wyck. There's a great scene that gives new meaning to the term "skeleton crew."

"Sealed Orders" is another outstanding tale of the effects of wacko Irwin Allen universe radiation. As soon as a top secret nuclear missile is opened onboard, the crew begins to vanish one by one. The atmosphere, assisted by the odd visual effects and another great score by Geller, is pleasantly weird and spooky. The climax is genuinely suspenseful and well shot. There was obviously an eye on thrift as they keep coming up with reasons to have only the main cast involved, but at least these episodes display more imagination than the latter third season shows.

The hits keep coming with the aforementioned "Man of Many Faces." A master of disguise frames Nelson for murder (on national TV no less) and infiltrates the Seaview, impersonating the main cast one by one in an effort to stop the crew from foiling an evil plan to control the tides. While the idea of one man impersonating so many people of different weights, heights and voices stretches credibility, the episode is so well mounted and paced, it's easy to forget the plot holes and just enjoy the episode. It's a temporary, but wonderful, return to the second season feel that had been missing for far too long.

"Rescue" is a tense tale involving a traitor on the Seaview and his attempts to keep the Admiral from discovering an undersea lab and rescuing Captain Crane, who is trapped in the disabled Flying Sub at the sea bottom. Again, the episode is set bound with one real guest star, but that doesn't prevent the episode from being exciting and serious. For the ladies, there's a one and only scene of Chief Sharkey without a shirt.

Rounding out the classics are "Blow Up" (Admiral Nelson is gripped by insane paranoia after breathing through an experimental oxygen device) and "A Time To Die". The latter episode introduces the time traveling Mr. Pem (Henry Jones), who also appears in the series' final episode. It is an interesting story, but sadly padded with a five minute scene from "Thing from Inner Space" from the third season. His second appearance would do the character justice.

This half of the season would prove to be the best of the year, as the series began to return to monsters and aliens for stories. However, there were still a few goodies left and one truly riotous episode played mostly for laughs. But you have to wait for the second half of the set for me to tell you about it. :-)

Bonus features will include David Hedison interviews covering all four seasons, Irwin Allen's goals and his office (?), the intense work hours and the various voiceovers. Also included will be a still gallery and, most promising, a recut version of the unaired pilot episode.

As fans saw, the initial first season set included the color version of the pilot episode. This print incorrectly included the second season opening titles instead of the correct "titles over churning water and different music" sequence seen in the syndicated runs and back on the old Columbia House VHS release. And aside from the color, the episode itself was no different from the aired black & white version.

However, there exists a 47 minute unaired version. I have no idea at this time (12/8/08) if a color or b&w print will be used, since both seem to exist, but the b&w 16mm print is more easily found. However, no matter, this edit has many differently shot and scored scenes. In the aired version, both Theo Marcuse and Werner Keplerer portray Dr. Gamma. I assume this was because Marcuse was not available for reshoots and they are both bald and in the shadows. They had totally different voices though. The unaired version has only Marcuse as Gamma, but the reshot scenes were necessary. The originals are over the top melodramatic and very corny. The background score also has liberal sprinklings of the music from the 1961 Voyage movie. Nelson and Crane had some dialog redubbed (replacing the phrases "evil forces" and "evil powers" with more realistic words) and, strangely, the entire scenes of Crane sneaking aboard, being caught and all references to the incident, are not here. Finally, the opening and closing theme music is completely different from the famous Seaview Theme.

All in all, this should prove to be well worth the wait for fans. While the usual Fox nonsense is in evidence (double sided DVDs, half seasons, limited extras), this is still a release fans have been clamoring for since October of 2007. It will be nice to have the Seaview back.
