When Planet Earth came out, it was a great nature documentary. But the presentation on Blu-Ray raises it to a whole other level. This is a tour of various habitats and climates on the earth. The photography is simply unmatched and in HD the detail in the shots is amazing. It would seem like alot to watch, but it goes fast. There are Blu-Ray movies were the format adds nothing and then there are things like this were the format shows what can be done.

The photography is unmatched. The educational value is high and the narriation is just right. This series will convince any skeptics out there of the value of the Blu-Ray HD format.

And I would suggest again that the BBC should put out Blue Planet: Seas of Life on Blu-Ray as well. Its long overdue.

Not as good as season 3, but nice 4 out of 5 stars.

There were not enough episodes in this season, and the extras were not quite enough as in season 3, but this is worth the buy

best special features 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

For the record I do believe that the third season was slightly more funny.

this set has amazing special features when compared to other comedy set seasons. every episode has roughly 10 minutes or more of deleted scenes which are often more funny than the scenes that aired. Also, the blooper reel is over 20 minutes long.

It is a shortened season because of the writers strike but many of the episodes were 1 hour episodes and with the deleted scenes this is by far the best value dvd series that came out this season.

Another great season of The Office 5 out of 5 stars.

The fourth season of The Office didn't have as many episodes as previous seasons, but how could you not buy it? Everyone who borrows our "Office-Season One," becomes hooked. They end up borrowing all four seasons. In Season Four, Pam and Jim are just as funny together as they were apart, and Michael and Jan provide their share of laughs, unintentionally of course. We get to know Dwight better than expected, and Ryan finally shows his human side (kind of). You'll love it.

Already on the 4th season and no signs of slowing down 5 out of 5 stars.
9 of 9 people found this review helpful.

It wasn't too long ago that the new series of Doctor Who started up, and before that day, I had only heard of the show in passing. I gave it a shot, and coming from a clean slate, I found I loved the show and have been watching it even since. One of the things that really captivated me about the show was anything was possible. You could be watching an epic space battle one episode, then on to meeting Shakespeare in the next. All the while, the show delivers on comedy and even some drama, the show is definitely a step higher in that department from what I have heard and seen since I started watching this show compared to the original.

A basic summary of your average episode would be that the Doctor and his current companion(s) travel through time and space, sometimes visiting famous events and helping out the locals with and alien related problems they might have. David Tennant has done a remarkable job in his acting, always coming up with odd yet funny quotes to relate to the situation.

One thing that I imagine might turn people away from buying this is the price tag. Compared to most other shows, it costs 2-3 times as much, but if you are a fan of the show or even have just seen a few and like it, I have found that I have been rewatching the episodes over and over again. Now season 4 isn't out yet, but in my opinion, the show is continuing on as strong as ever, even with fairly regular cast replacement, most new characters I have found to be just as good if not better than the last.

Excellent Show with Lots of Surprises 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I first learned about this show on the BBC America website. Since I don't have BBC America, I was able to purchase a show on iTunes to check it out. I loved it so much that I bought two more and had to get the DVD set when it came out. Primeval was created by the talented team who made Walking with Dinosaurs for the Discovery channel and their influence shows. The show has a wondeful strong science core mantained by the lead Douglass Henshall as Nick Cutter. The team members of Stephen, Abby and Conner as the core group are also excellent. When I received my set,I was intially disappointed that there were no episode guides or booklets in the set as with the Dr. Who DVDs. After watching all the episodes, I can see why. The producers want you to be surprised by the outcome. Other reviewers have pointed out series highlights, so I won't go into great detail. I will say that the production features are high quality and outstanding. The monsters are scary and interesting and they don't go into gore as Torchwood does. The way the series starts out, is not how it ends and many character nuances are brought to the fore. I for one was completely surprised at the changes and revelations. I cannot wait for series three! The theories of the anomalies leading to both past and present are extremely interesting and the consequences of such are fascinating. It is outstanding work. The Brits keep coming with the best sci-fi shows and Primeval joins Dr. Who and Torchwood as my favorite shows. The wrting is top notch, the stories are interesting and creative and they are putting US TV sci-fi to shame. Grab this DVD set and enjoy!

This DVD series has phonomenal footage! It's a great way to learn about our wonderful earth. It also makes you realize that we need to take care of our planet so that we will be able to enjoy these miraculous creations for many years to come. The team of filmmakers did an awesome job of capturing life and wonders of our world that we would never be able to see on our own.

Oh my God 5 out of 5 stars.

It easy to understand why it took several years for this series to be filmed. On an HD 52" Flat sreen the visuals were abosolutely stunning. I also suggest whoever purchases this product should also consider the Planet Earth disc set. I just couldn'y get over the photography, as well as the in depth knowledge I gained from this series. I highly recommend it.

Buy it !! 4 out of 5 stars.

The way in which the series is organized and presented clearly shows the effort and talent of the Producers, narrator, and staff that did the heavy lifting on this beautiful series.

superb! 5 out of 5 stars.

Set in rural England of the mid 19th century and featuring a group of gossipping women, this doesn't seem very likely, altho' several romances and deaths provide some interest. But this film is great viewing due to the excellence of its production. Script, performances (by a tremendous cast) and production values are topnotch: the BBC have not done so well since the 1995 Pride & Prejudice.
A special is promised for Christmas 2009, so this dvd will have plenty of time for frequent viewing.

WELL DONE LOVED IT 5 out of 5 stars.

Loved this series. The values they believed in and lived. Hard to find nowadays. Much to be learned from their integrity. Well acted and beautifully filmed. Have lent it out to others who have never heard of it and they loved it to and don't want to give it back.

Charming 5 out of 5 stars.

Cranford is an unchanging village with traditions its loathe to part with. A lovely capsule of life in a small town.... Gossips, romances, traditions and grief, all in the life of the inhabitants of Cranford. Judi Dench and the cast are all wonderful.

This product, similar to the Planet Earth series, provides ten one-hour long episodes of well-done photography and information about the sea life on earth. I've also enjoyed the special features of how BBC filmed these episodes and the planning behind each one. I love to travel and this series has taken me to different parts of the world to see its beauty and uniqueness. It's a relaxing end-of-the-day activity at my house!

I love this nature documentary 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Hmmmm....what can I say?...I think Planet Earth is over-rated. I like Galapagos more than Planet Earth. It is shorter (one disc), but the contents are just stunning. The HD quality of this disc is of a higher level than Planet Earth-it is simply marvelous and breathtaking. In terms of video quality, Planet Earth gets an 8, but Galapagos deserves a 10. The sound quality is awesome; the narration is perfect; the contents are mind-blowing. I don't care about the theory of evolution, creationism, or anything else. This disc tells the story as is: the beautiful islands, the wonderful life forms, and all the stunning display of mother-nature. I love this documentary.

Blu-ray version is stunning 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Although it's not 1080p but 1080i the picture quality is amazing. There are some shots that literally take your breath away. Galapagos shoreline, the colors of the rocks under the sea. I didn't watch it on DVD, only on Blu-ray so I don't know how this would be without those images.

If you own a blu-ray player and an hd tv then you must buy this disc.
