UCB fans will love it, but its not their best work 4 out of 5 stars.

If you're not familiar with the Upright Citizens Brigade, they were a skit comedy group that wove their sketches together (much like Monty Python and Mr. Show, though not as good) creating a full circle to the lives of their characters. The overall premise of the show was that the four characters you see on the front cover were a secret organization located at the center of the earth who sought new ways to bring chaos to the people of the world by any means possible. I recommend the 1st season much more than this one.
If you are familiar with the UCB, just buy it already! Let's hope the 3rd season comes out in the next decade. Oh, by the way, the following skits are NOT on this 2nd season collection: 'Werewolf sex', 'Vibrating boot', 'Pro Thunderball', and the episode in which a man is being held captive in a basement though he is unaware that he is actually hooked up to a virtual reality machine.

Sketch comedy show revolves around the Upright Citizens Brigade an underground organization "with no government ties and unlimited resources" dedicated to creating and monitoring chaos from their secure underground base. The show s sketches depict chaotic or bizarre events in the world events which are often directly engineered by the UCB. Another defining feature of the show is a series of real-world pranks which tied in with the show's theme. UCB is the greatest thing ever brought to the world of comedy. This first season is fantastic and it just gets better. anyone who has not seen this should definately check it out. I have been watching it since i recorded it on vhs in the late 90's and it never gets old. I was so happy when I found they made the first 2 seasons on dvd. I hope to everything that is still holy in this world that they produce the final season on dvd, and soon. I am tired of watching it on .avi files and vhs tapes, it just isn't the same. BUY THIS AND BUY THE SECOND SEASON. You won't regret it...

This is the best sketch comedy ever. The UCB is a group of improv people who got a break on Comedy Central. Their skits are the funniest around. My last review was not published because I named my favorite skits, guess I won't do that now, but that should give you an idea of where the UCB take their sketches. You will laugh over and over as you watch this. Like the title says, do not pass this up.

This DVD is sooo worth the buy. THE 2ND SEASON NEEDS TO COME OUT! Its been several years since the show has been cancelled. The 2nd season is even better than the first.

As you can tell by my five start I loved it! The show wasn't promoted much and only lasted a season on Comedy Central. I was left wanting much much more! Here's a little test, if you find these situations comical at all then you'll like UCB:
- Prejudice against astronauts
- Thunderball - a baseball-like game, except:
- You carry the bat around the bases to help you get by defenders, unless you throw it and hit certain targets for extra points, but that leaves you defenseless going around the bases
- One inning there is a car either team can get in and use to run over the other team
- Pitchers are allowed three ceramic balls, which will shatter sending fragments into the batters' faces if they hit them
- There's a gun circle in the outfield, a circle with a loaded revolver that no one is allowed to use of course unless maybe a wild animal is on the field and needs to be put down
- Cape Canaveral and Houston fighting with competing robot arms on the shuttle:
- Cape Canaveral: What's that?!?
- Houston: Jettisoning Russel Arm!
- Cape Canaveral: Jettisoning Jefferson Arm!
- Astronaut: What's going on?!?
- Cape Canaveral: Don't worry, the Jefferson Arm will be picked up on a gravity-assist fly-by.
- Houston: And the Russel Arm is made of composites that will withstand re-entry.
- Astronaut: What about me?
- Cape Canaveral: Don't worry, the shuttle is equipped with an SC-2000.
- Astronaut: SC-2000?
- Houston: Yes, the, uh..., Space-Coffin 2000.
