Universal, ugh, what can I say? 2 out of 5 stars.

First off these are two sided DVDs. It seems only cheapskate Universal does this and it sucks. Also you get nice marketing in the form of previews at the beginning. WHY DO YOU PUT PREVIEWS ON A DVD PURCHASED FOR HOME USE? Because the bean counters at Universal want to figure out how to squeeze more money out of you by touting their other crap products. Not only that the packaging is crap also. Also, do not expect any extras here.

I'm a huge fan of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew so I knew I was going to enjoy watching the show all over again. Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson perform their roles like pros. I especially enjoy the episodes where Shaun performs his songs. Also like the episodes where Parker is surfing in Hawaii. I like Pamela Sue Martin. Just wish she was in all the Nancy Drew episodes. There are a few episodes with two different actresses playing Nancy. Not as good as the original. There are so many good guest stars in the episodes, too, like Valerie Bertanelli, Rick Springfield, and Bobby Troup. Lots of mystery and guessing "who did it?" Video quality is good and I'd recommend it for all ages.

I bought this DVD set a while ago and I have to say that it has to be one of my favorite shows I've seen in a long time. Being a teenager, sometimes it can be hard to step away from all the pop culture and music that kids my age are into today but somehow I discovered Shaun Cassidy and instantly became a fan! Even though I have yet to see season 3 (unfortunately, the 70's was before my time) I'm more than anticipating Universal's release of it on DVD.
It's so hard to pick a favorite episode since all of these are wonderful, but both of the 2 part episodes (The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Meet Dracula and The Mystery of the Hollywood Phantom) will keep you at the edge of your seat the entire time. Hopefully Universal will release season 3 soon!

I am a great fan of the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew DVD series which aired in the 1970-80 's. Can't wait for Season 3 to come out on DVD. I would recommend this set to anyone who loves mysteries.

Not as good as the books, this series suffered from the Half-Hour format, not enough time for a deep mystery. But the production values & acting were quite good!
