Loved It! 4 out of 5 stars.

This DVD is great! The first episode is the longest with two shorter ones to follow and they are great entertainment for my son. Both episodes have great tunes that my 2 year old has completely memorized. It is actually entertaining for the whole family!

If I were king of the forest... 3 out of 5 stars.

This show is okay for little kids I guess. But it's really stupid when you get a little older. Why would anyone want to do 5,000,000 flips instead of taking one little step? Why does Robby Rotten care if they are active? I f he doesn't want to hear the noise he can just move to a quiet town or move to a house in the middle of nowhere. And Stephanie is so perfect. And she acts so stupid and she's always so happy. Why are little kid shows always in a perfect land where nothing bad ever happens? They should have at least one show in the real world. I know that that wouldn't be a very good show for little kids or maybe basically everyone but that's probobly making little kids think that we live in a wonderfuly perfect world where nothing bad ever happens. And in some shows they have talking animals which can make little kids think that animals really do talk. So in Dora the Explorer parents may think it's a good show for their kids to watch because you learn shapes, spanish, and counting but it can also be bad because it might make little kids think that animals can talk like humans. Who knows? Next time you go to the zoo your kid might try to put a pair of red boots on a monkey then starts talking to it, and refuse to leave. Then the next thing you know you get kicked out and can never go back. Okay so that probobly will never happen but I'm just trying to make a point. Back to Lazy Town. I think that sometimes Robby Rotten gets to scary. I would think that little kids would be afraid of him. Trixie is the most pointless character. She's hardly ever in the show. They probobly just have her in the show because they thought little kids would complain if Stephanie was the only girl in the whole show. Why does Sportacaus's thing that tells him when someone is in trouble only go off every once in a while? If it was in the real world it would never stop going off. And in the episode where Robby Rotten swiches Sportacaus's shoes with ones that he controls wouldn't they notice that the shoes are blinking? And if they really had eyes then they would see that Robby Rotten's discuises are really just him. It's sooooo obvious. You can see his face! Why don't they see that? They sing songs about everything. It's really annoying. And they dance so stupidly. Why does Robby Rotten want to get rid of Sportacaus? Who cares if the kids are active? If it's to loud then get used to it or move! It's not that big of a deal! Who cares!

More sports candy from Season One 4 out of 5 stars.

The LazyTown television series is growing in popularity every day, and there's no prize for guessing why. Originating from Iceland and led from the front by creator and star Magnus Scheving, the show encourages healthy eating and exercise, to the beat of hot Eurodance music. Part live action, part puppets and some CGI animation, this appealing series also stars one of the most loveable of villains, played by the talented Stefan Karl Steffanson, a hottie with a strong jaw line, an impressive wardrobe of costumes and a never ending stream of nefarious gadgets.

This is the fifth DVD release, and contains four episodes from Season One (2004 - 2005):

Records Day (Episode 18): There's an opening in the LazyTown Records Book for "Laziest Person" and Robbie is looking forward to having his name entered for posterity as the record holder in this category. Unfortunately, Stephanie and the other kids also have their eyes on various records, and a villain's gotta do what a villain's gotta do to put a stop to all the activity.

Hero For a day (Episode 7): Ziggy wants to be a hero like Sportacus, but of course things don't work out as planned for the candy addicted lad.

Zap It! (Episode 17): Lazy Pixel hates cleaning, so he invents a machine that makes things disappear, especially the garbage in an untidy room. Robbie sees an ideal opportunity to get rid of Sportacus forever. (Insert diabolical laughter and a little dance jig here)

Secret Agent Zero (Episode 27): Move over Mayor Milford Meanswell, because there's a new mayor in town. Suspecting that the election has been rigged, the kids go undercover with Mayor Meanswell to reveal the truth behind the ballot.

The special features are disappointing, with only two short exercise dances that are impossible to follow, and there are no subtitles or closed captioning. It can however be played in French - oooh la la!

Editorial Review:

Show overview: The people of LazyTown love to lounge. They find inactivity invigorating and they revel in relaxation. On any given day you can find the inhabitants of LazyTown doing whatever requires the least amount of effort. Which means kicking aback in comfy chairs, vegging out in front of the TV, playing video games and gulping down junk food. The children of LazyTown are in dire need of a hero to look up to, someone to show them alternatives to all the bad habits and easy solutions they see around them. "Record's Day" will be the fifth LazyTown home video title. The main episode focus on Stephanie and the LazyTown kids trying to break different kinds of records while Robbie Rotten tries for one of his own. The DVD will include 2 main episodes and 2 bonus episodes, each approximately 24 minutes in length, for an approximate runtime of 100 minutes.

Robbie Rotten Rox! 5 out of 5 stars.

The best of the three Lazytown DVDs released to date, this one showcases loveable villain Robbie Rotten (Stefán Karl Stefánsson, an Icelandic film and stage actor), and has some of the best songs of the series so far. Stefánsson is a master of making faces, and would easily outmug Jim Carrey in a "face off."

Episode one: Sportacus is once again chosen to win the Person of the Year Award, much to Robbie's disgust. To prevent this, Robbie brings out the heavy artillery, including some of his best inventions and a cow costume. There is a sub-plot of a variation of the "boy who cried wolf", when Ziggy's fibs backfire on him.

Great song: Master of Disguise

Episode two: It's time to play Pirates as Rottenbeard appears just in time to lead the children on a treasure hunt for the missing piece of the Lazytown Stone with the "secret to living". (Robbie looks amazingly cute in his pirate costume.) Listen for the "singing" balloon swords during the fierce duel.

Best song of the series: You Are a Pirate

Episode three: The Mayor calls on Sportacus to encourage the children to play outside, and declares "Sportacular Spectacle Day" where Sportacus traditionally does an awesome stunt. (My husband points out that this can't be right, because Stephanie isn't aware of the tradition, and she is the one who invites Sportacus to Lazytown in the very first Lazytown episode) Anyway, Robbie pulls the old shoe switcheroo trick, and tries to make himself the new hero of Lazytown.

Good song: There is Always a Way

Episode four: Stephanie's scouting ideas get tossed aside by the new scoutmaster, who almost leads the others to disaster when an ill wind begins to blow. Stephanie and Sportacus come to their rescue and unmask the blowhard.

Cool song: Get Lazy

Recommended for any Lazytown fan, especially if you're into villains.

Editorial Review:

This second DVD in the LazyTown lineup is not solely a Christmas collection, but rather an all-seasons offering of four episodes from the hugely popular Nick Jr. series. The Icelandic import blends live action, puppets, and CGI animation to teach positive lifestyle choices among the preschool set. Esteemed athlete and entertainer Magnús Scheving is the show's creator who provides the voice of superhero Sportacus, the robust role model who flips, leaps, and sprints through the stories in order to get kids off the couch. His junior sidekick is 8-year old Stephanie, a song and dance dynamo (played by the talented Julianna Rose Mauriello). In the title episode, Christmas comes to LazyTown and a holiday party is in the works. But Robbie Rotten, the town's mischief-maker (played by the engaging Stefán Karl Stefánsson) is certain he'll be overlooked in the festivities. In Grinch-like fashion, Robbie makes a hapless attempt to sabotage Christmas, only to be foiled by forgiveness. Other stories include Ziggy's discovery that no one is too small to help a friend, and Miss Roberta's boorish reminder that manners matter. The best in the bunch is "The Laziest Town," when the mayor learns that the city's energy meter will hit zero—an embarrassing predicament—unless its citizens get moving. Plenty of quips ("Apples are sports energy"), sing-a longs, and general zaniness underscore the message that healthy habits don't have to be ho-hum. (Ages 2 to 5) --Lynn Gibson

Another Icelandic delight 5 out of 5 stars.

The latest installment in the Lazytown DVD series brings four more episodes of the Nick Jnr. Television show best known for the aerobic antics of superhero and creator Magnus Scheving. Obviously not short on confidence, Scheving bounces, flips, dances and jumps around the screen in a tight blue costume as Sportacus, the tenth superhero to make a home in Lazytown. His scene stealing arch enemy Robbie Rotten again proves that even though his diabolical plots never work, he can hold his own as one of the coolest villains in children's television.

The plot for each episode revolves along the universal Lazytown themes of eating healthy fruit and vegetables (known as sports candy), and exercising. Robbie Rotten does his cute little best to encourage the children to eat cake and candy and lie around doing nothing, while Sportacus proves to them that it's better to eat right, sleep right and do aerobics whenever possible. Robbie is of course the "Master of Disguise" and has a fully equipped wardrobe to suit his every scheme.

The four episodes on this DVD are:

Sports Candy Festival - Stephanie and the kids decide to surprise Sportacus by holding a Festival in his honor. Robbie is a bad apple, but Sportacus still ends up as the top banana.

Happy Brush Day - Ziggy's having a birthday party, and although Robbie's gift is the biggest, the little gift from Sportacus saves the day.

Play Day - Robbie excels as a cowboy in this one. There's a great high noon showdown in the streets of Lazytown, but when Robbie starts monkeying around, Sportacus proves that he's the one to tame the beast.

Sportafake - Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but Robbie makes Sportacus look rather small until a good deed turns the tables on him.

With the usual great bouncy and catchy music and energetic dancing, this one is sure to please the little Stephanie, Sportacus and/or Robbie in your family.
