5 Stars for 5 Great Seasons 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The first 5 seasons are very good. I can watch them over and over. After that, I quit collecting the sets. I don't care for the next 4. Not the same after Will Geer died, Ellen Corby had her stroke and Richard Thomas and Michael Learned stopped being regulars. The latter seasons are too based on the war. You would think they are fighting it right there on the mountain. And they try too hard to include grandma in the story when she returns. And then there is Rose and the two kids with her. What's that all about ?? Lastly, the dumbest thing they ever did, was to bring another John-Boy in the show.

Editorial Review:

Front-page news! The Blue Ridge Chronicle hits the streets, with publisher John-Boy Walton covering everything from a local break-in (Ben is among the suspects) to his eyewitness account of the crash of the Hindenburg. And, in a story filled with surprises and a ceremony filled with beauty, Mary Ellen becomes the first Walton child to marry. More adventures await, including Jason's job in a honkytonk, Grandma's set-to with the minister, and an exciting, heartwarming Christmas episode that's sure to become a holiday favorite with your family. And along the way old friends return, new friends arrive and the family bedrock of love endures in this 5-Disc, 24-Episode Season-5 Set of one of television's most enduring series.

My favorite!! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is my favorite season, the cast is so perfect together and it has some of the funniest episodes I ever saw. Amy Yasbeck (Casey) is even funnier than she was in the previous season and absolutely makes the show sparkle.

Wings season 7 5 out of 5 stars.

Wings is a great show. Although after the wedding, the burning down of both houses and the departure of Thomas Haden Church (Lowell), this show was headed toward its end. The stories in this season have a different feel to them, and they have almost abandoned the whole airport/airline aspect of the show.

Still a great show and I will definitely be enjoying the last season upon its release.

Great Show, Unusually Good DVD Release! 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I guess you could say I'm picky with DVD releases, but this one was quite good. The theme song is intact, the studio audience laughter is still there and the episodes are mostly complete, with the episodes usually running from 24-25 minutes. It's always annoying when a show is released on DVD but is badly edited, glad to see they left this show mostly intact. The price is also quite good, you get 22 episodes, compared with some DVDs which contain 15 at a higher price (I'm looking at you, Paramount). Picture quality is decent, certainly not the level seen in "I Love Lucy" or "MASH" but those shows were done on film, and considering this show was done on tape I'd say it's pretty good. As for the humor, well taste is subjective but I enjoyed this even if I didn't quite get the occasional topical joke, with much of it being quite watchable.

Editorial Review:

Mr. Kotter, meet the Sweathogs, the goofiest group of remedial students who ever set off the fire alarm two minutes before a test or spent algebra class constructing spit wads. Sweathogs, meet Mr. Kotter, a former Sweathog who's returned to his old high school as your new teacher. Gabriel Kaplan stars as Kotter and John Travolta, in his breakthrough role, plays Sweathog leader Vinnie Barbarino in this multicultural, multicomical 1970s smash hit set at Brooklyn's James Buchanan High School. Join them plus jivin', high-fivin' Freddie Washington, tough-guy Juan Epstein and peppy pipsqueak Arnold Horshack for all the Season One fun - or it's up your nose with a rubber hose!

for me Will and Grace is one of the best TV series EVER. LOVE THEM

The end of a great series 5 out of 5 stars.

Will & Grace was one of the funniest TV series shows ever made. These four actors are awesome in the parts they played. I keep hoping that there will be spinoff shows. Now I watch Debra Messing in The Starter Wife. In it, you can tell that she puts a lot of her own personality into the characters she plays, and she did that with her Grace character. I loved every episode.

MORE SCENES!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the best Will & Grace and SO WORTH getting. I hated the series
ended though, but I have (and will) watch this one over and over!!

Will & Grace - Series Finale 5 out of 5 stars.

Will & Grace, A gay Man and a straight woman. In one of the episodes grace tried to marry Will when they where in collage, but come to find out Grace turns Will into a prancing Queen and ever since then that has been a running joke on the show, how Grace turns guys gay when she trys to marry them. Even thou this should be on the DVD for Season eight. It is nice to have the finale on its own Disk. This one I will probably go back to again and again, because it was the end of a different kind of TV show. It was nice to have this show on, but it is also nice to have and ending or to have as they say closure.

Editorial Review:

The unique relationship between Will Truman and Grace Adler comes to an end in the series finale of the adult comedy about two best friends – Will who is gay and Grace who is straight. Contains the complete series finale.

SECOND SEASON IS COMING!!! PLEASE HELP GET DREW'S OTHER SHOW TO DVD!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Last Monday, September 15, 2008, The Home Theater Forum had Warner Brothers home video (T.V. and Animation Divisions only) on their chat line. Questions about a release for the 2nd season of Drew Carey Show were asked and Warner Brothers flatly said "no plans". I think this is a disgrace!!! Drew Carey is one of the best Comedy shows of the 90's!! We need to write to Warner Brothers and bombard them with emails and letters to get this show on DVD!!! Fans of the series Knots Landing did just that, and now Knots Landing (according to last mondays chat) Warner Brothers is giving that show another chance on DVD! We need to do the same for this show if you want more seasons of this show released on DVD!!! GET YOUR VOICES HEARD!!! The good news is Warner Brothers is planning to release another DVD set of Drew's other show: Whose Line Is It Anyway? Season 2. Personally, I would prefer The 2nd season of THE DREW CAREY SHOW......but at least Drew's other show is getting recognized!!!

Editorial Review:

One of DVD's most requested titles, WKRP in Cincinnati is a blast from the past and an absolutely golden oldie. But this first-season set is bound to cause static with fans who have eagerly anticipated its release. Because of pesky music rights, the songs don't remain the same. "Hot Blooded" is not playing when mild-mannered newsman Les Nessman (Richard Sanders) puts on a toupee in anticipation of an awards-dinner date with bombshell station receptionist Jennifer (Loni Anderson). It's "Beautiful Dreamer" and not "Fly Me to the Moon" that chimes when Jennifer's doorbell is sounded. Any number of generic songs have replaced the contemporary and classic rock so vital to WKRP, which is, after all, set at a radio station, albeit one that is best known for its farm reports. Enter Andy Travis (Gary Sandy), the new program director charged with turning the station around, beginning with changing the format to rock & roll. Andy, the series anchor, is something of the head guard at a nut farm. In seasons to come, he will wonder if he is one of the nuts, which include: "Big Man," Mr. Carlson (Gordon Jump), who is easily flustered, especially by his formidable mother, the station owner; polyester-clad sales director, Herb Tarleck (Frank Bonner), hopelessly old school and on the make for "Jenni-poo"; and morning DJ, Johnny Caravella (Howard Hesseman), a former "boss jock" now reduced to playing "You're Having My Baby" by the Hallelujah Tabernacle Choir. Also on staff is Bailey (Jan Smithers), Mary-Ann to Jennifer's Ginger, and who lacks the confidence to assert herself at the station; and Venus Flytrap (Tim Reid), whom Andy hires to be the nighttime DJ. It's a seamless ensemble of likable characters on par with The Mary Tyler Moore Show's WJM news team. WKRP is one of those rare series that hit its irresistible groove from the get-go. Hesseman sounds all the right notes as Johnny, reborn as Dr. Johnny Fever (ranked no. 73 on the Bravo "100 Greatest TV Characters" chart).

As the season unfolds, the hits just keep on comin', including the classic "Turkeys Away," about a Thanksgiving stunt that goes hilariously awry ("As God is my witness," Mr. Carlson insists, "I thought turkeys could fly"), the "Goodbye Johnny" two-parter in which the (briefly) departed Johnny's replacement is involved in payola (resulting in Mr. Carlson mistaking cocaine for foot powder), and "Never Leave Me, Lucille," in which Jennifer desperately tries to reunite Herb with his wife. Purists may balk at the replaced songs, but the sharp writing and performances provide WKRP's real music. --Donald Liebenson

Every CGI "Walking with Dinosaurs" you could want, even the Nigel Marvin specials "Chased By Dinosaurs." Great imagery, great fun for the armchair palentologist or the kids. Some scenes may be a bit scary for the little ones, but overall just superb education in a fun format.

Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth are wondeful!

Editorial Review:

"You are my sister. You're supposed to drive me crazy." Twenty-eight-year-old organization freak Valerie Tyler loves her 16-year-old sister Holly. Even if Holly is rambunctious. Spontaneous. Impulsive. Disconcerting. And definitely disorganized. Then Holly moves in with Val, and the sisters discover they may make better siblings than roomies. Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth star as the Tylers and Simon Rex and Wesley Jonathan star as two of the men in their lives in this bright, giddy comedy set in Manhattan - and in the hearts of sisters everywhere. Pop some corn and plop on your fuzzy slippers for all 22 Season One Episodes, plus funtastic bonuses. Romance, laughs, family: That's What I Like About You.

The one and only Chuck Norris stars in a show that is truly all his own. 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

In the early 90's, the ever popular martial arts master and action movie star Chuck Norris was not getting many offers for movies. An idea sparked in someone's mind, and Norris was offered the title role for a show called "Walker Texas Ranger", he accepted it, and an entirely new legend was born. This show is most likely what makes Norris best known to today's modern audience. I do not see this show as silly, or stupid, or so dumb that it's good, or anything like that. I sincerely, genuinely, and truthfully see it as a great show. The plots are original and imaginitive. This show also starred Sheree J. Wilson as Assistant District Attorney Alex Cahill, Clarence Gilyard Jr. as Sergeant James Trivette, (Walker's partner in the Texas Rangers), and last but not least, Noble Willingham as C.D. Parker, whose bar was a common meetingplace for the main cast. I am now officially debunking the endless theories that every episode contains the same elements - Alex, Walker, Trivette, or C.D. is kidnapped, Walker transforms into legendary Texas Ranger Hayes Cooper, etc. First of all, in many of the episodes, Alex is not kidnapped, not to mention that she sometimes is barely even if not at all in the episode. Second, Hayes Cooper does not appear until the second season (actually the third season). Do not judge this show by what you have heard from others. Believe me when I say that the show is one-of-a-kind, and it is truly awesome in every way. When you do watch it, if you're like me, you will be bending your ear to every line for one of those well known Chuck-isms, such as "If I wanted a confession, I'd beat it out of you." Great storytelling, acting, and action is what made this show what it is. Don't miss it! Below is a list of episodes included in this seven-disc DVD set.

Great content but package needs to improve 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The sixth season of Wings was undoubtedly its best and the DVDs shos that. However, the quality of the DVD package leaves something to be desired. To save money, the distributors has inserted the DVDs over the episode summaries so that you have to clumsily remove them to read the summaries. Further, there are no extras yet again as in the previous season collections. Finally, visual quality seems murky at best.
Buy this season for the funny, endearing characters and try to forget about the cheapo packaging.
