I liked this volume too. Remember it's still in black and white. But there's nothing you can do about it. Episodes are still very interesting.

Irwin Allen in Glorious Black & White 5 out of 5 stars.

Yes Its Part 2 of the First Season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. This was their best season and good fun.
Fair reasonable plots and good dramatic acting.

The rest of the First seasons deep sea Adventures 5 out of 5 stars.

This part of the series was very interesting to watch and see how the special effects were done in that to now and seeing more actors that would soon become house hold names It is great Irwin Allen at his best just wish that they would not put them on double sided discs. I just hope that with season 3 and four they don't do this and when they do Land of the giants they also put it on Single sided discs. All in All I give it a 5 Stars for it

I exspected much much more from this DVD. #1- he acted weird, like he was on something, #2- his voice was off, he was trying to hard and #3- thirdly he sat through the DVD. I don't think this concert had high energy only he seemed high. he talked way to much. I am going to try another Meatloaf DVD and let this one sit and gather dust. hope this helps you, it would have me.

Editorial Review:

He has made a career conquering stadiums and arenas around the world, but for one night Meatloaf scales down the production for a VH-1's Storytellers. In an intimate studio setting, Meatloaf talks about the stories and inspirations behind his classic songs, including 5 (out of the 7) tracks from the RIAA Diamond-certified album "Bat Out Of Hell". The show features an extra 53 minutes that did not appear on the show when it aired on television.

Featuring the songs...All Revved Up With No Place To Go, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad, A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste, You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night), I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That), Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through, More Than You Deserve, Heaven Can Wait, Paradise By The Dashboard Light, Bat Out Of Hell

Short, But Great 4 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The DVD only includes her performance of 9 songs; and that thanks to two songs that they added as extras (see set list below). The first song either already started by the time the DVD show begins, or they she simply did a short version of it.

Besides that, her performance is top quality. The sound and image quality of the video is great. The DVD also allows you to play the show omitting the storytelling bits.

Set List:
Hand In My Pocket
You Learn
Thank U
Unsent
You Oughta Know
That I Would Be Good
Still

Extras:
Uninvited
Head Over Feet

I give it 4 stars only because I think it was short. It is so good that you wish it was longer.

A great storyteller; A fantastic performer 5 out of 5 stars.

This DVD is a must for Morissette fans, and lovers of rock music in general will also appreciate Morissette's brand of confessional writing mixed with the hard rock sounds and gentle melodies her band offers throughout the show. The whole backdrop and aura of this show is very intimate, also psychedelic as Morissette was involved in projecting an image of peace and spiritual harmony during this point of her career. The song list is a rich blend of radio hits off Jagged Little Pill with deep cuts from Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. Some highlights include Alanis playing a flute solo in "That I Would Be Good," the greatest and most driving performance of "You Oughta Know" I've scene to date, and concluding with a brilliant performance of "Still"(Dogma)where Alanis reveals in storytelling format "This is my take on what God is." And if that isn't enough, the bonus features include performances of her classic "Head Over Feet," and then "Uninvited," which will leave viewers blown away and proves Morissette is one singer who knows how to rock.

Laugh until you cry! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this collection for my husband as part of his Christmas present. We have watched a lot of the episodes already on PBS television, but have never got tired of seeing repeats. We sat on Christmas night with our daughter, laughing our heads off. This is a brilliantly funny series and Dawn French is amazing. I would highly recommend it as a good mood booster

Loads of fun 5 out of 5 stars.

This British TV comedy series is filled with unique and outlandish characters, crazy story lines, loads of dry humor and hours of fun! The ending joke is a great way to wrap up each episode. Enjoy!

Splendid! 5 out of 5 stars.

Finding quality programming on TV is becoming a major hassle. Either you're deluged with a million variations of CSI or Law & Order that deal with rape and semen, or mindless reality tripe that would only be entertaining to a stoner.

It's great to be able to pop in the DVD and enjoy actually entertaining programming that doesn't rely on brutal murders or horrific acts of sexual sadism to capture the audience's attention. You can watch this show with your family, with your friends, with people you've just met, and the response is the same. Pleasure, enjoyment, laugh out loud moments, and best of all, no uncomfortable queasy awkward situations as some gun-toting character yammers on about male on male rape.

If you actually want a really entertaining show to watch, the Vicar of Dibley (as well as other Britcom classics) are worth it.

Editorial Review:

The sleepy village of Dibley has a new vicar, but it's not your standard order bloke with beard, bible and bad breath - it's Dawn French, of the hilarious comedy duo French and Saunders. Armed with a sharp wit, a double dose of double entendre and healthy

Short But Sweet 5 out of 5 stars.
20 of 20 people found this review helpful.

While I tend watch his more recent "It Had To Be You...The Great American Songbook" and "One Night Only! Live At The Royal Albert Hall" dvds more often, "VH1 Storytellers" captures Rod Stewart in a more intimate environment, allowing us to see a more relaxed and looser Stewart not seen on the other two.

Though the VH1 show "Storytllers" was supposed to showcase artists performing some of their classic hits in a small club and telling the stories on how some of their best known songs, Rod never really does that except when an audience member asks him who "Maggie May" is about. Other than that, he gives brief facts on certain songs but never divulges their true inspiration. This, however, should not dull the experience. With or without the actual storytelling, Rod nonetheless gives excellent performances of classics like "Maggie May", "Tonight's The Night", "Stay With Me", "Ooh La La" (sung with an audience member), "Forever Young", "You're In My Heart" and "Having A Party". Also, Rod performs two songs, "Cigarettes And Alcohol" and "Rocks", from his 1998 covers album "When We Were The New Boys", an underrated gem (or so I'm told, I've never actually heard it).

There are two bonus performances included that were not it in the television broadcast. They are "Hot Legs" and "Have I Told You Lately". They are good but not as good the originals.

Overall, a great Stewart live dvd. Pick up this dvd and the two I mentioned before as well, and you will experience how it feels to be at a Rod Stewart concert.

Editorial Review:

Recorded at New York's infamous Supper Club in the spring of 1998, VH1 STORYTELLERS-Rod Stewart finds the vocalist at his most engaging. Performing songs from his legendary career, Rod recounts the tales behind his biggest hits including "Maggie May," "Tonight's the Night," and "Forever Young." This DVD release includes 2 bonus performances not seen in the original broadcast.

It's called Storytellers for a reason! 5 out of 5 stars.
11 of 11 people found this review helpful.

It's called Storytellers for a reason! This DVD is Matchbox Twenty and specifically Rob Thomas telling the stories behind some of their greatest hits up through their Mad Season album. This is a wonderful music DVD plus you get the added benefit of hearing the inside stories on some of your favorite songs. And Rob Thomas is just so endearing and cool. You just can't help loving this band. The highlights for me were Push and Rest Stop. And a cover of Lonely Weekend and a country version of Push are great fun. I highly recommend it.

Editorial Review:

Platinum hitmakers Matchbox Twenty hit the stage and tell the tales for the groundbreaking VH1 series, "Storytellers." Starting with their 1996 debut, "Yourself or Someone Like You," Matchbox Twenty has built a devoted following that continues to grow with each new record and tour. Filmed at New York City's Chelsea Piers, Matchbox Twenty perform their many hits including a stripped-down version of the timeless "3 A.M." with Rob Thomas at the piano. Songs: Bent, Mad Season, Black and White People, Push, If You're Gone, Crutch, Lonely Weekend, You Won't Be Mine, Rest Stop, 3 AM.

Editorial Review:

From Candid Camera to American Idol, American television viewers' appetite for watching other folks get embarrassed, humiliated, or worse at the hands of both themselves and others never seems to wane. How else to explain the fact that MTV's Jackass, a show built on dangerous, painful, and stupid stunts, could spawn not only a feature film but a spin-off like Viva La Bam, issued here in a three-disc set compiling the show's fourth and fifth seasons with extensive bonus material? This is classic MTV fare, made by and for slackers, stoners, and skateboarders, the tattoo and heavy metal crowd who get off on the kind of jejune, puerile behavior that Bam Margera and his crew celebrate in every one of these 16 episodes. A combination of The Tom Green Show, Paris Hilton's The Simple Life, and the aforementioned Jackass, Viva La Bam is hardly what one would call innocent, but it's neither as cruel nor as mean-spirited as others of its ilk. It focuses less on outrageous stunts than on Bam's good-natured tormenting of his family, including mother April ("Ape"), dad Phil, and especially uncle-clown Don Vito (the latter two have a combined girth roughly equal to the Earth's circumference); in the two-parter that opens the fourth season, for instance, they follow Phil and Ape to Europe (later adventures take them to Brazil, Mexico, Finland, and Russia), wreaking havoc everywhere they go and pretty much living up to the stereotypical image of the boorish, ignorant American abroad. There are guest appearances by rockers like the Bloodhound Gang, Hanoi Rocks, HIM, the cartoonish Gwar, and even Billy Idol, along with ace stunt bikers the Metal Mulisha, but unless your idea of hilarity involves folks dumping food on one another (even better if the dumpee is asleep), Viva La Bam's appeal will be limited, to say the least. On the other hand, folks who do enjoy that kind of thing should be delighted. The third disc is comprised of over two hours of bonus material, including deleted scenes and commentary by Bam and the gang. --Sam Graham

Veronica Mars Seasons 1 & 2 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I first watched half a show on TV and was hooked. Then the TV station in Melbourne, Australia decided to take it off air. I had no other choice but to buy seasons 1 & 2 to get my Veronica Mars fix! I highly recommend the show if you are into detective shows with some laughs and downs thrown in.

It's an addiction 5 out of 5 stars.

These series are the best. I was completely hooked! What a shame that the series isn't aired anymore. It would have been really interesting what would happen now.

Nancy Drew couldn't compete with Veronica Mars 5 out of 5 stars.

Veronica Mars is a sassy, resourceful, intelligent and beautiful teen private eye, she knows how to solve her cases and she's good at it too.

The first season sets the scene, the crimes and the resolutions, the main arc is extremely well planned and suprises aplenty. Sure it's a bit of a Who Dunnit? but she has her cake and eats it too when she gets even.

Season Two is also fantastic, I won't give anything away except the entire arc was well executed, and very suprising.

A must have for lovers of mystery solving teenagers and scooby doo.

Editorial Review:

The surviving members of the Doors did a savvy thing with this hourlong session of VH-1 Storytellers, first broadcast in early 2001. Knowing that they could never replace their late and legendary frontman, Jim Morrison, the Doors (Ray Manzarek, Robbie Krieger, and John Densmore) invited vocalists from a variety of hot bands to offer their own interpretations of eight classic Doors hits. The spectre of Morrison looms over the entire set, reminding us that the charismatic, leather-clad Lizard King could never, ever be matched in terms of vocal style, depth, and heart-rending soul. It's best, then, to let these admiring young rockers enjoy this opportunity to pay reverent homage, and they do it with considerable skill. Above it all, the remaining Doors form a solid trio, still lighting fire to songs they've performed thousands of times.

Patrick Monahan (from Train) kicks off with a sharp rendition of "Love Me Two Times," and the Cult's Ian Astbury tries (almost successfully) to bring a medley of "Whiskey Bar/Backdoor Man" up to Morrison's level. The highlight comes from Days of the New's Travis Meeks, whose performance of "The End" is fresh, impassioned, and altogether triumphant. Nearly as good is Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland (clearly a Morrison worshipper), who burns through "Break On Through" and "Five to One" with adequate fervor. Creed's Scott Stapp closes with "Light My Fire" (proving that the original is still untouchable) and a rafter-rattling "Roadhouse Blues." Each performance is noteworthy, and die-hard Doors fans shouldn't miss this latter-day celebration. Younger listeners who are less aware of Morrison's legacy are best served, in the long run; they get the best of both worlds, old and new. --Jeff Shannon

The years has been kind to him. He's still got what it takes to rock the house. There are few different versions of some of the classics, but they're just more refined. If you're a fan of the eighties music, you'll love this selection. Steve Stevens is one of the best guitarists ever!
