A trip down memory lane more than entertainment 3 out of 5 stars.

I was only 8 yrs old when the V TV series aired so I really only have very spotty memories of certain scenes. Purchasing this set was a must for me as I grew up with the original 10 hr mini-series and remember it quite well and fondly.
I have to agree with the other reviewers in that I believe the 19 episode TV series started strong but began to sink mid-season and then died on its feet by the end. However, I am glad that I've finally seen this and now know the enitre story (video version at least...as there are numerous books).
Still, for fans of the original miniseries it's worth watching at least once if only for a continuation of the story and for nostalgic reasons. For die-hard fans (and they are out there) this is a must have.

I had been looking for "Voyagers" for several years to become available on DVD. I had not seen the series since it originally aired in the early 1980's. This is a cool show with educational value. It is pre-"Back to the Future" by a few years. Good stuff! Sadly the series did not last long, thus they were able to put all of the episodes in this 1 set for the show's 25th anniversary (1982 - 2007). I highly recommend this DVD set. Unfortunately it is not in a book or at my local library. Bats breath!!!

This show had a faithful audience due to the show was well written and had all the elements needed. Action, Sci-Fi, Comendy and so many other elements that made this show fun. It was made during the big push for reading and use of the library and mnay schools used the shows to discuss history and what if this would have happen instead of what did. It stll captures the audience of today due to my own family has enjoyed watching this series once again.

Any show with characters such as David Bowie (OK he WAS in Zoolander but Bowie as in Scary Monsters', Major TOM?) and the German singer Klaus Nomi can't be beat! I watched Jonny Quest as a kid and loved the animation and great sound track. The Venture Brothers is just as good and is MUCH funnier....... when people of a certain age have to explain the jokes to the young - the sign of greatness, like the old Warner Bros. cartoons!

I purchased the DVDs after having seen all the episodes when my friend lent them to me. Normally, I will only watch my favorite episodes once I buy a DVD set of a show I've already seen because there's nothing new to see, but in the case of "The Venture Bros.", the show has such a dense storyline that repeated viewings are a must.
The show is a great send-up of the old 1960s cartoons, mainly an homage to Johnny Quest but also containing both overt and subtle elements of probably every major cartoon from that era. The plot is simple but the mythology becomes very complex as the story unfolds. Dr. Thaddeus "Rusty" Venture, son of the late great super scientist/adventurer Dr. Jonas Venture, is now the head of Venture Industries, his father's research company. He's not too great at the super-science thing, so Venture Industries is a shell of its former self, and Rusty lives off of his father's name and achievements. He brings his two sons, Hank and Dean, along on his adventures as his father did with him, and as such they are naive and socially inept and also stuck in the 60s in a sense. His bodyguard, Brock Samson, is a killing machine but simultaneously is a kind of nanny to the boys. Dr. Venture needs a bodyguard because he has an arch-nemesis, The Monarch, who is his own kind of incompetent. Together with an ever-growing cast of supporting characters, the travails of the Venture family unfolds.
This show is hilarious, and has dialogue that you will be quoting well after having seen the episodes. For someone who has grown up seeing the 1960s cartoons on Cartoon Network, and who is pretty tuned in to pop culture in general, the frequent references and callbacks are great. What's more, if you're looking to get into a show that is imaginative, intelligent, funny and builds upon itself at every turn, this is the animated series for you.

Fantastic series. This is everything except one of the red nose specials with Jonny Depp and Madonna- includes the Christmas and New Years Holy Wholly wedding of 2007. Dawn French at her best with good British Comedy. Writers are famous for their work in Wooster and Jeeves and the Black Adder series.

Yet another brilliant series from BBC. 'The Vicar of Dibley' follows the misadventures of a quirky & vivacious female vicar in a quaint English village... Dawn French is superb as the vicar Gerry who valiantly 'shepherds' a flock of lost sheep (her colourful bunch of parishioners) while keeping her sanity & humour intact. Witty script gamely supported by excellent ensemble acting from a lovable cast ~ absolutely hilarious!! This box set contains all the episodes & specials, definitely worth getting if you are a fan of Dawn French :)

when i ordered the vicar of dibley immaculate collection there was a note saying that people who ordered it also ordered this, the "a holy wholly happy ending" dvd. what amazon didn't write was that this dvd is already included in the collection. when i called to complain, the operator did not understand my problem, and amazon refused to refund my shipping fees because they said it was my mistake. the description of the whole collection did not list the dvds and i believe that i was mislead. the information remains on the website so don't be fooled into thinking you are getting another dvd if you've ordered the collection. the series, however, is terrific and i highly recommend it for any british comedy lover.

It was... ok. TV always has that problem where the beginning of the show is fantastic but anything after that, not so much. That's exactly the case with Veronica Mars Season 3. I mean its still worth watching, maybe just once though.

I am so glad that I purchased this DVD. It is such a good show. It's funny, sad, and suspensful. I used to watch the show on tv, but not on a regular basis.

This season of veronica mars was soooo goood!
as per usual you see kristen bell as our teenage detective, solving a mystery an episode, but there is also the mystery that runs through the entire show, but unusually the mystery that runs through the show changes once or twice.

Totally enjoyed this DVD. I love catching these shows on my local PBS station but they tend to repeat quite often and there are so many I haven't seen. This DVD gave me access to 3 I hadn't. Quality was pretty good as well. Highly recommend it to British comedy fans here in the States.

As an English girl living in the States I have slowly been introducing my 13 year old son to good quality English humour and they don't come any better than this. Dawn French is fantastic as the new Village Vicar and whilst there are quite a few of the Boob jokes and references it certainly wasn't anything bad enough to stop my son watching it. This is one of the best series that the BBC has ever produced and it is a shame that it didn't continue longer than it did. My 13 year old son was literally was rolling on the floor laughing hysterically, and that is a rare occurrence. He loved it and we will be watching the entire collection bit by bit. I would highly recommend it.

The only reason i am reviewing this is because there are some reviews here that are wrongly giving Deep Space Nine a bad time! Voyager is dull and boring and the worst in the Star trek family it had so much potential and failed miserably.
Deep Space Nine is light years ahead and still stands up welll with todays Sci-Fi TV. It is deeper and tells a story it does not simply push a reset button each week and move on.
Voyager will not leave a lasting impression like DS9.

Enjoyed this series on tv, and enjoying it even more now that I can watch it in its entirety. This series did a fine job of character development. I also like the occasional references to the previous series Deep Space Nine. Many of the special features are excellent as well, describing the technology of the time (some of it surprisingly simple), and how ideas for the show had some roots in real science. A quality viewing experience...

Absolutely hilarious! Dawn French is a comedic gem and this is my favorite of her works! To anyone who loves a bit of British humor I highly recommend this show. If you liked this you may also enjoy Men Behaving Badly and Chef!

OK, I'm hooked on "Dibley" and got this particular set because the no. 2 disc in my set of the first three Dibley's broke.
I think it is a series worth watching if you are youngish-at-heart, and Christ-oriented or at least don't mind the somewhat-fantasied version of the church scene; otherwise, I'm not sure the acting is worth sitting through (the writing went a bit overboard with some of the characters to the immaturish, and the amateurish). Some of the story tangents are too rude for the conservative, but if you sit back and ignore these directing mistakes and enjoy the goodness in the stories and the characters, it makes a wonderful series to watch, over and over again.

What can one say about ST:Voyager? It ran with top notch special effects and a well-selected cast. Though a great fan of DS9, ST:Voyager had a compelling storyline with a twist, a female captain, Katherine Janeway . This concept broke the old Star Trek mold by proving that a woman can be as "cowboy" as Jim Kirk, as "eloquent" as Jean-Luc Picard, and as "unyielding" as Benjamin Sisco. Season One lands the crew of the Intrepid-Class explorer Starship in the depths of the Delta Quadrant after an encounter with a space anomaly while chasing down the Maquis. This season is mostly about the integration and initial difficulties that a ship built for only 6 month deployments has to face over 75 years from home. Considering the lack of decent TV these days, I recommend that Sci-Fi and Drama fans grab ST:Voyager and set sail for the unknown.
