MAX THE GREAT! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 8 people found this review helpful.

EVEN THOUGH I AM MAX'S GRANDMOTHER, I CAN SAY, WTHOUT PREJUDICE, THAT THIS WAS AN AMAZING AND SPELLBINDING SHOW. THE TEAM SPIRIT AND THE TENSION OF EACH GAME WERE TERRIFIC. OF COURSE MAX WAS MY FAVORITE, BUT ALL OF MEMBERS ON THAT GREAT TEAM WERE AWESOME! NOBODY COULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER QUARTERBACK THAN ROSS AND ALEX, AND "REPEAT" WERE GREAT TOO!!!

Two-A-Days is Awesome! 5 out of 5 stars.

Two-A-Days has got to be the best show ever to come out of MTV. The DVD takes you back to that season over and over again. The special features are a nice addition to a great set. I have to say, after watching this show, it has made me look back into my life and re-evaluate everything in my life! The show is so gripping, heartwrenching, and moving that it will stay with you days after watching just one episode! Can't wait for the second season to start on January 30th!

Welcome to Hoover, Alabama, where football is a way of life. "Two-A-Days" follows the 2005 football season of the Hoover High School Buccaneers of Hoover, Alabama as they chase their fourth state championship title in five years while also balancing the normal pressures of being high school seniors.

This is the first time I have seen this series and I enjoy it very much, the more you watch the more you get hooked on it. There is a variety of actors through out the shows and it is very entertaining.

Editorial Review:

It's that time of fear again! So if you've been missing the Crypt Keeper, here's a chance to improve your aim. But be warned: It'll be a fright to the finish. The cadaverous cut-up is your host for a 15-episode die-gest based on classic horror comics from back in the day and featuring a parade of characters who are variously merciless, clueless, topless and headless. Hank Azaria, Shelley Hack, Isaac Hayes, Richard Lewis, John Lithgow, Wayne Newton, Isabella Rossellini, Rita Rudner and Humphrey Bogart (you read that right) are among the stars. And vampires, mad doctors, killers, ghosts and adulterers are eager to come out and play. We could tell you more, but that would be wrong. You do know rot from wrong, don't you?

Editorial Review:

A trio of angels Monica (Roma Downey), Tess (Della Reese), and Andrew (John Dye) are dispatched from heaven with a special mission: to inspire people facing sometimes unseen crossroads in their lives. Monica, an angel who at times still needs some guidance with her earthly assignments, reports to Tess, her tough, wise and always loving supervisor. Also on hand is Andrew, who, in addition to his duties as the Angel of Death, now helps out as a caseworker on carious assignments. Gloria, an angel for the 21st century, continues to seek guidance from Monica performing her angelic duties. While the angels may not bring solutions to every problem, they always deliver a message of hope.

Editorial Review:

A Touch of Frost is one of Britain’s most successful detective series and stars award-winning actor David Jason as Detective Inspector Jack Frost, a policeman with a knack for attracting trouble. Set in the dreary town of Denton, Frost approaches each case with his characteristic dry wit and a sense of moral justice. A Touch of Frost Season 4 includes:

"Paying the Price" – Rendered homeless by his own carelessness after burning his house down, Frost takes on a kidnapping case with the help of WPC Claire Toms. A 24-hour operation at the victim's flat leads to escalating demands from the kidnapper and even Frost finds it difficult to keep cool under the pressure.

"Unknown Soldiers" – Frost finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun when he interviews a suspected drug dealer and then finds himself confronted by an armed robbery. But, he's far more intrigued by the death of a young soldier at an army camp. It's strictly off limits to police, but that has never stopped Frost before.

"Fun Times for Swingers" – Frost encounters the world of male escorts in this episode but he has a rude introduction when a naked woman throws herself from the roof of Denton Church. Frost uncovers a snapshot of a man with whom she had an affair, but the next day the man himself is found murdered.

"The Things We Do for Love" – The savage murder of a young physiotherapist sends Frost in pursuit of the names in her electronic organizer. The prime suspect is a pillar of the local church, but Frost's conviction that he is the killer is refuted by a water-tight alibi.

"Deep Waters" – Frost is determined to make two suspects confess after a vicious knife attack, but an adversarial solicitor points out that justice has to be done despite what Frost's instinct tells him. That aside, can he trust his hunch about a mysterious assailant at the local university... or not?

A series with a degree of promise comes to a jagged and sudden end 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Season One of TRU CALLING was so poorly watched that just about everyone was astonished when it was renewed for a second season. Then everyone was even more baffled when production on the show was ended before a single episode of Season Two was broadcast. FOX has done some very strange and inexplicable things over the years, but the whole now-it's-renewed/now-it's-cancelled dance with TRU CALLING has to rank at the top.

In my review of Season One I mentioned that it simply wasn't the case that Eliza Dushku had taken on TRU CALLING rather than a Faith spin off to BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. The latter existed only to the extent that there was talk about its possibility. But absolutely none of the trappings of a TV show were in place. In other words, Eliza chose an actual show that was going into production over the mere possibility that Joss Whedon and Co. might pitch a Faith spin off to some network. But as the first season of TRU CALLING was winding down, there was some talk once again of a Faith spin off. Again, not an actual series, but the idea came alive again. But with the renewal of TRU CALLING, that died once again.

It is hard to figure out what was going on inside FOX. The six completed episodes of Season Two show a lot of promise. They do not show a truly (no pun intended) great show -- at its best TRU CALLING was merely good and promising -- but they show a dedicated production staff and cast trying hard to make the show exceed the limitations of its premise. The episodes were definitely as good as Season One at its best. It simply isn't clear what happened between renewal and cancellation that made FOX give up on the series.

So, for the most part, watching these episodes is a sad experience. They gesture toward what might have been, toward what the show was trying to become when it was unceremoniously shut down. The writers were doing a more than decent job of pushing at the limitations of the series -- Tru being asked by a dead individual for help of some kind, and the day restarting with her having a chance to bring about a change of some kind, if only she can overcome the efforts of Jack (Jason Priestly) to bring about the same outcome as before -- and were developing what appeared to be a more complex overall story when everything came to a dead stop.

Do I recommend this? I guess it depends. If you are looking for a great story and challenging character development, no. To engage in personification, this is a series that was cut off at the knees. It ends suddenly, in the middle of its story, with utterly no resolution of any kind. Some might prefer just sticking with the end of Season One, which brings slightly more closure. But if the all-too-sudden ending doesn't put you off, the six episodes that make up the very brief Season Two are all at least very decent and they do give many hints at the direction the show was heading. In particular I enjoyed the episode where Jack instead of Tru is asked for help by a dead person. It was not merely a good episode, but showed how the writers were doing all they could to bring about innovations to the standard plot progression. So, these set functions more as a hint of what might have been than anything. What there is, is pretty good. The shame is that there simply isn't very much.

2-Disc Collector’s Edition Contains All 6 Season Two Episodes!

It’s been two months since Tru and Jack last met in a deadly confrontation in which Tru saved the life of her brother, but she was ultimately thwarted when Jack evened the score by taking the life of her boyfriend. After that night, Jack disappeared—but now he’s back with a vengeance. His renewed efforts to make sure the dead stay dead only make Tru more determined to carry on her murdered mother’s legacy of saving those who die before their time. But also back in town is Tru’s estranged father who, although claiming he wants to forge new relationships with his son and daughter, has his own secret agenda which is anything but fatherly in intent.

2 and a half seasons, more to come. 5 out of 5 stars.

Few shows stay in our minds so may years after they have been gone. For me Touched by an Angel was one of the best shows to express warmth to its viewers. Every episode has an uplifting message, and the series is so full and rich I can't wait till the rest of the seasons are released. This third season is quite long indeed, and it introduces to the spin off of The Promised Land. Personally, I could never get really attracted to this other series. Nonetheless all the episodes have the quality the entire show always demonstrated. Roma Downey is and will always be a beautiful and very talented actress. Her role as the angel Monica captivated many of us, and Della Reese was as charming as only she can be. Quite a little treasure, this series is.

3rd Season 4 out of 5 stars.

Great Series, poor realeasing method 4 out of 5 stars.

Love the series. Outstanding TV for the whole family. The problem is the way it is released. I like to buy a whole series, at once in one collection. The split series means more postage and other costs unless you wait long enough to get it at one time. That is a big disappointment.

Set in the dreary town of Denton, Frost approaches each case with his characteristic dry wit and a sense of moral justice. A Touch of Frost Season 2 includes:

"A Minority of One" – Frost and a black detective constable investigate residents at the Eastdean Estates housing project, where young, black men have been accused of a string of commercial burglaries. Frost feels responsible when an informant is murdered. The informant’s child is kidnapped and Frost embarks on a one-man rescue mission.

"Widows and Orphans" – Frost is reluctant to investigate a rash of break-ins at the homes of elderly citizens due to lack of evidence until an elderly woman is found badly beaten. A new female partner dispenses free advice on Jack’s love life and he asks Shirley Fisher to dinner.

"Nothing to Hide" – Frost gets a new partner whose attitude problem stems from a recent demotion. Is a drug addict’s death accidental – or is it murder? Frost deals with personal issues involving an old flame.

"Stranger in the House" – A serial rapist is on the loose in Denton. A teenaged girl is missing and Frost fears she may be the next victim. The investigation becomes jeopardized when Frost finds a possible connection with the victim’s father. Under pressure to remove himself from the case, he uses WPC Hazel Wallace to bait the rapist, placing her in grave danger.

Excellent entertainment. Clever plot. Well executed by David Jason and cast.

Drama at its best 5 out of 5 stars.

David Janson, David Janson and David Janson are the three best reasons for watching A Touch of Frost. The drama, acting, and characters are some of the best in this genre. The theme music sets the tone for the drama that will unfold and it is real life displayed in all its ugliness and David Janson finds himself a all to human in dealing with some of the horrors of the street. Must see watching for anyone that loves mystery and police dramas.

My wife bought me Frost Series 1 for Christmas. We enjoyed it immensely.
So we recently bought Series 2 & 3.
This series just gets better with age. Jack Frost is endearing. He has parts of Morse and Foyle in him.
This mystery is up to Series 14. We plan to get all of them.

Rod Serlings smoking narrator is a classic 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Just the appearence of Rod Serling in the beggining of each episode smoking his cigarette and dryly introducing us to the story is worth the price. These are gems that will continue to inspire fans. Timeless stories that always leave you astounded, frightened or just very content.

Still one of the greatest TV shows of all time 5 out of 5 stars.

The Twilight Zone has stood the test of time as one of the greatest television shows of all time. These episodes are all great and it is truly amazing that Rod Serling was able to come up with all these great stories. The newer versions of The Twilight Zone television show just do not measure up. I beleive the black and white format of these great episodes actually help the atmosphere of creepiness. New television just cannot duplicate that feeling. I showed some episodes to my children and at first they thought "Oh, why do we have to watch this dumb old black and white show?" By the end of the first episode they were hooked and now they love them too.

Editorial Review:

Rod Serling's classic TV exploration of the uncanny, the unknown, and the unforgettable takes you beyond the deepest realms of imagination! Filled with twists, turns, and compelling characters, this legendary series has remained continuously on the air since its initial run and remains as fascinating, frightening, and thoroughly entertaining for viewers today. Each set contains nine DVDs; Collection #2 features Volumes 10-18, 34 episodes to tingle your spine including "The After Hours," "What You Need," The Midnight Sun" and "Living Doll." So pull up a seat and brace yourself for a fantastic voyage into...The Twilight Zone!
