Accidents Happen - a life lesson, not just for potty-training. 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

We bought this when my daughter was about 20 months-old and she saw it at a friend's house. She needed the messages of "keep trying" and "it's ok to fail." We talked about "Accidents Happen" while toilet-training, and still do even though she is now 4, though now we mean other sorts of accidents. Maybe your child is also sensitive? The gentle encouragement of this video may be helpful.

Some of the other reviews mention shock at the "potty-language" contained in thie video. Huh? What part of potty-training does not include words like "pee" and "poop"? It's beneficial for your kid to know what other people say so they aren't confused at day care, school, church, by babysitters, etc. Sometimes we forget that parents are not the only people that interact with our children.

I always loved Sesame Street as a kid, so I enjoyed the music, some of the older skits (I remember the kitten going up the stairs from when I was a kid), the the funny lines snuck in there just for parents. Some of the dialog drags and I could do without the last musical number (aaaak! in tune next time, please!). But the TP Rap and Accidents Happen make up for the slow bits. I also liked the way you can put the DVD in and it plays the Public Television intro, and then goes right to the movie without annoying menus, then auto-loops back to the beginning.

Good luck on your potty-training adventure.

This amusing and song-filled DVD teaches children that everyone- mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends, and even monsters- has to learn how to use the potty. great show, disappointing packaging 3 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this after selling my boxed sets. I wish I had just kept them. The packaging consists of a cardboard box with a cardboard "book" that has cheap cardboard sleeve inserts for the dvds so I had to buy a new case to put the dvds in to prevent scratching (if you own the Sex and the City dvd collection its almost the same concept), the ribbon that lifts the "book" out of the box became detached right away and I notice creasing that developed in the cardboard pages which makes me think they will eventually wear out and tear the pages apart. Bonus features were very disappointing, I have the Sex and the City dvd collection and they had better bonus features. There could have been montages, farewell colllections, video clips, award show scenes or something. No interviews with James Gandolfini at all! I just think HBO went cheap considering the status and impact that this show had. Whaddya gonna do about it though right?

When the show was still good HORRIBLE PACKAGE 4 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

A good season of the show.
NO longer at it's best but season 11 is much better than the show is now.

Took WAY TOO LONG to release season 11 to DVD after the release of the movie to DVD December 2007.

Good extras as normal with the set. Other film makers should pay attention. Most TV DVD packages have little to NO extras. Even with season 11 at least we get a wide choice of extras to look at. And, they still have the brochure with info on each episode & extras.

I still have every episode on tape. Yes, I still have a VCR & tape everyone.

But, MY MAJOR COMPLAINT WITH THIS PACKAGE.

HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE.
It is 1 of these packages where you have to open both ends to get the inside with the discs to come out. ONCE YOU GO THROUGH ALL THAT UNNECESSARY WORK YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THE DISCS OUT OF THE TIGHT HOLDING AREA.

WHOEVER THOUGHT THIS UP IS AN IDIOT!!

That's all we the public who buys these want-UNNECESSARY WORK!!

A great action movie that uses all of the SG1 cast throughout the don't blink moving action! An must for your library!

SG-1 The End? 5 out of 5 stars.

Not having cable TV I was always a season behind on Stargate SG-1. It was usually hit-or-miss on broadcast television in my viewing area as far as airing times and continuation. Therefor, I was happy to see the final episode released as a movie. One of the "menu" choices even included a brief prelude summary leading up to the movie itself.
The movie started out a little slow, but soon ramped up into high gear as befitting this final episode. The effects, acting, and story line were top notch. To my surprise, they even brought back an earlier enemy that added an additional exciting element to the story.
My only complaint is that after purchasing this DVD, I learned that another SG-1 movie is available for purchase. So, which is the season finale?

Editorial Review:

Blasting off where the Sci-Fi Channelâ??s longest running show, Stargate SG-1, left off, this thrilling feature thrusts the Stargate team â?" Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), Vala (Claudia Black), Tealâ??c (Christopher Judge), Sam (Amanda Tapping) and Cam (Ben Browder) â?" into their biggest challenge yet. In search of an Ancient artifact they hope can defeat the oppressive Ori, the team not only learns that the Ori are set to launch a final assault on Earth, but a double-crossing I.O. operative is aboard the Odyssey! Also starring Beau Bridges, this pulse-pounder is loaded with enough suspense, humor and action to fill a galaxy!

Almost! 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The movie is fun, especially for long-time fans. There are many layers - it was nice to watch it at home and let it all sink in. I bought the Blu-Ray version of the film - while there's no denying that it looks great, the extras weren't as exciting as touted in the description. There's barely any additional footage - deleted scenes or otherwise and there's still no explanation of Stanford's paltry storyline. Also, no "cutting room floor" extras of the rumored Aiden storyline. I was expecting a lot more, but still enjoyed the actual film. You aren't missing anything by purchasing the DVD version, as far as I can tell. And you'll save a few bucks!

Love this movie! 5 out of 5 stars.

I have watched this movie about 4 time since I got it (which wasnt that long ago). If you have a wide screen tv, don't get the full screen movie.

You won't be disappointed 5 out of 5 stars.

Even if you didn't watch the tv series, you will really enjoy this movie. The women are still their awesome selves, the clothes are off the charts and then there is The City! What a great representation this movie gives of NYC. Just plan to enjoy the movie a lot!

Two of the eposides did not play 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I really enjoy this story. On the whole everything was great but on two separate discs there were a couple of eposides that would not play I was to say the least very disappointed.

Worst season to a great show 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 2 people found this review helpful.

While Smallville is a great show this season was, in general, at best mediocre and at worst horrible retreads. If it wasn't for the retread factor I would worry that the writers never watched the previous seasons, but it seems they did and just ignored it. Characters reverted to previous seasons incarnations. Character developments were scrapped totally. So on and so forth. This season makes the fourth look like high art and that season had the worst plotline ever, next to Buffy's season 4, oddly enough.

But there are highlights. Michael Rosenbaum, Alison Mack and John Glover all bring the goods. And Justin Hartley was also a nice breath of fresh air, although the superhero outfit looked wicked bad. Tom Welling did the best he could with the material he was given. As for Kristen Kreuk? Yikes. I cant really blame her either, the writers seem to really have no idea what to do with her and every time they go a direction they get scared and run back to "girl next door/craps golden eggs" base, which doesn't gel with anything really.

I await season 7 on dvd as I haven't seen it yet, but from what I hear season 6 might become my second least favorite season after that.

Editorial Review:

Twenty-two years ago, Sam (series star JARED PADALECKI) and Dean (series star JENSEN ACKLES) Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. As a result, their father, John (recurring guest star JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN - "Grey's Anatomy"), raised the brothers to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America...and he taught them how to kill it. Sam, however, wanted nothing to do with this violent and dangerous life, and he left it behind, until the day Dean appeared on his doorstep with troubling news. Their father had gone missing on a "hunting trip." Sam and Dean have spent the last year cruising the highwaysof the United States in their 1967 Chevy Impala, searching for their lost father and encountering creatures that most people believe exist only in folklore, superstition and nightmares. Along the way, they have battled the various supernatural threats--and each other as well, for their sibling rivalries and conflicts were never far from the surface. Finally, they found their father, just as he was closing in on the Demon who claimed their mother.

space opera lives 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Thank goodness that a good space opera series is still being made.
They really try to put out a quality show with stargate atlantis.
This series may not be as exciting as season 3 overall but it's still a
good show and well worth watching. I do think it was a mistake to
remove the head of atlantis; the dr. wier character from the show, just as removing Dr. Becket character from the previous series was not the best move in my opinion. Still it takes guts to remove major characters and the Samantha Carter character does a good job at being the bases new leader. She has to let the others do most of the work though as she mainly runs the base. I still loved the show though due to it's overall quality and fine acting so it's worth watching for even non stargate fans who enjoy good sci fi that is very well made.

Stargate Atlantis 5 out of 5 stars.

59 bux well spent 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

The first TV series since Seinfeld and Married With Children that I waited for. Checked the schedule. And waited for. Didn't see it originally on HBO, so I waited for my local cable to schedule it. Watched every episode until about the last 9 and then...bada bing....nothing. I chased it around the remote [formerly known as the "dial"] for weeks. Ok. Ok.
Not in the least bit disappointed. I think those final shows were among the best.
I think of The Sopranos as a combination Soap Opera/Crime Series. To my knowledge, that was never even done in the movies.
I'va had reservations about what I surmise [based upon 621 viewings of "Goodfellas"] to be flaws in writing and concept: (1) Why would a "Boss" (a 5 o'clock News celebrity) drive up in his own car, looking exactly like himself, using his real name, to a Pschologist's office where he's expected to pour his guts out? (2) Why would he openly display the discord in his own home, to his "Crew"? Why would he even *think* Divorce in his world? (3) Why would his Daughter be allowed to roam unprotected through a rough section of town in her Social Worker Intern role? (4) How would "Cleaver" have even gotten past the conference stage? Also, I don't understand all the footage inside toilets; other bits of business which make the viewer want to look away.
Not all of the above criticisms are really reflected in the final nine, though.
The DVD quality is awesome. And if I say it's awesome, considering my ancient entertainment system, it's gotta be. The viewer obviously has the chance with this boxed-set to watch the show muninterrupted by the commercials (more violent than the show), and so it takes on a more *movie* feel.
Each Disc has one running commentary, with a total of five voices. The voice of "Uncle Junior" is the most impressive. A very insightful, and moving dialogue. He's not particulary emotive, but his calm and cool technique only enhances the detail.
I was disappointed that Lorraine Bracco did not have a Commentary. (Gotta check the other packages). "Dr. Melfi", like "Junior", is a very soft-spoken character, an interesting counterpoint to the often explosive behavior of the other principals.
I'm not comfortable with how the Dr. and The Boss ended. Ultimately, she was to blame for not doing better research on a situation that could only work against her...and society. She basically slams the door on Tony...he replaces the torn out recipe page from the magazine in the waiting room...and leaves.
Not to be overcritical of this amazing series, but I wish that a small romance would have developped with them. Although, on a deeper level, it was a "telepathic" romance. She expressed to *her* Advisor that, yes, in the beginning, she was taken by Tony's masculinity. The fan can decide if that feeling grew even sronger.
Features include the above-mentioned Commentaries, plus a "mock" Documentary on the making of "Cleaver", and the making of the music soundtrack to the show (David Gray's comments about the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Costello are brilliant and can make their fans swell with pride).

Editorial Review:

Last year, Tony Soprano cheated death when he was shot by his now institutionalized Uncle Junior. While Tony continues to muse about his second chance at life, he faces a myriad of immediate, stress-inducing crises at home, at work and from the law. Tony's wife Carmela plans for a future she's not sure will arrive, and son AJ and daughter Meadow find that adulthood holds its own surprises. Meanwhile, at work, Tony comes to doubt the allegiances of many of those closest to him ¿ no one, not Paulie, Bobby, Silvio or even Christopher is above suspicion. The clock is ticking. Time is running out. But on who?
