Love Sesame Street? 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I love this as much, if not more, than my kids. Not only do I feel nastalgic for the good ol' days, but it reminds me of why Sesame Street was created. Some of the greatest and most memorable segments are in here. I haven't watched the first season because I think this is closer to the time when I was a kid and all the kinks from the first season would have been worked out by the second season. I just love Grover and Prairie Don, Bert and Ernie. You can see that some of these characters have just about disappeared these days through the inclusion of Elmo's world and all the things they do with new characters. While I don't mind them, I miss the guys I grew up with. This is great to break out when you've watched re-runs too many times! I end up sitting down and watching the show with the kids, and they like that as well!

Editorial Review:

Can you dig it? Sesame Street: Old School Volume 2 picks up right where Volume 1 left off, including all the grooviest Sesame Street memories from 1974 to 1979! You’ll see cats like Don Music and Roosevelt Franklin, Guy Smiley and Fat Blue. Break out your boogie shoes for far out classics like "What’s the Name of That Song?" and "Telephone Rock!" Rediscover the Sesame Street of the 1970s -- the place where you learned about letters, numbers, and loveable furry monsters. Catch you on the flip side!

Editorial Review:

Sesame Street's cheerful redhead chuckles his way through this delightful 50-minute compilation of three favorite "Elmo's World" episodes. First come the babies: real babies, Muppet babies, and animal babies. With help from Mister Noodle, a cast of Muppets, and video vignettes featuring humans, Elmo discovers what babies can do and how to play with them. Next come the dogs. Once again, Elmo's on the move--this time to share important tips about respecting the family pet. The final episode examines life on the farm. Viewers will observe youngsters accomplishing daily farm chores as well as Muppet farmers and barn animals punning around. As Elmo bops around his house (simply drawn and "furnished" with color crayon sketches), he chats with Dorothy the pet goldfish, poses questions to Mister Noodle, and tunes in to his friendly television for helpful cartoons presented by "The Baby Channel," "The Dog Channel," and of course, "The Farm Channel." Educational and entertaining for the younger crowd, each segment explores its topic using a variety of creative, quick-paced methods, enhanced by an upbeat soundtrack. (Ages 3 to 6) --Liane Thomas

Incredible TV show 4 out of 5 stars.

I like Aaron Sorkin a lot and this show has his soul, no doubt. If you enjoy with powerful dialogues that's your show too.

Great Series, fairly good Dvd 4 out of 5 stars.

I've enjoyed so much this series. It's a shame it got cancelled. They always cancel the best shows..
The dvd is fine, you get to see some extras but not as many as I would want. Anyway, it's worth it, don't lose the chance to watch this magnific show.

Editorial Review:

What goes on behind the scenes of a nationwide late-night comedy sketch show? Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, answers that question with a must-see show within a show filled with engaging characters, ear-grabbing dialogue and a Hollywood hive of insider buzz. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford portray the likable hotshots brought in to revive NBS-TV's sagging flagship comedy series and Amanda Peet plays their savvy boss in episodes exploring the lives and loves of and the make-or-break creative pressures on the show's staff. Panic. Chaos. Fear. Sleep deprivation. Just make sure it's funny by Friday. Because that's when a nation tunes in to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

Would give 4 stars but both sets had factory defects! 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love Star Trek OK? That being said, this is the season where Next Gen really took off, starting with The Child, Contagion, the profound Measure of A Man, and culminating with Elementary Dear Data, the monumental Q Who?, and the exciting Peak Performance. Excellent writing almost across the board, excellent acting and superb chemistry between the actors. Can't beat it for Television. And they did all this for a mere 1.5 million per episode. Realize that this is upwards of 267 Million dollars for the Next Gen franchise. That is a huge investment, and in that context, 62.00$ is not too bad for 19 hours of enjoyment!

The one issue I have is Paramount's DVD quality control. If you order a set, FIRST THING YOU DO AFTER YOU UNPACK THIS YEAR'S SET IS INSPECT THE UNDERSIDE OF EACH DISK FOR SCRATCHES OR DEFECTS!! A must! One small flaw and you get skips, or freezes. Major scratches and your disk will come to a grinding halt and will lock up. Usually at the worst possible time, at a critical moment in your favorite show. For this kind of money, you don't need that. Now for the good stuff...

In my collection, you will find Season Three, Season Four, and Season Two, the best, most consistent quality oriented, thoughtful scripts, screenplays and compelling acting in my opinion, however, I had to go through multiple sets of Year 2 because there was at least one major flaw (I mean big ones) on the underbelly (laser burned side) of at least one disk in every set of Year 2 I owned.

Year two premiered the development of Riker's great Sir Walter Raleigh beard, and the debut of Ten Forward, THE place to go to blow off steam or just relax and be human, and have fun. While I thought a few of the first year's shows were indicative of potential, Year Two was when that potential began to be tapped. In Season Two, Troi's accent was not quite so pretentious, Riker became more of a real, vibrant, Machiavellian character, with a great humour, quick wit, and less of a stiff cartoon character. Picard really found his voice, and Beverly took off a year (and thereby, somehow, became a great actress) while she was away having her baby. Worf became a more handsome and believable Klingon, and everything just moved ahead by leaps and bounds. Dr. Pulaski was great in Elementary Dear Data and she sparkled in Peak Performance. This was just great fun, with some powerful philosophy thrown in for good measure, in typical Star Trekian fashion. Top quality entertainment.

Next Gen. really took off in year two. You might notice three or more decibels of additional bridge and engineering sub-bass and engine noise in year two's shows. Your higher powered subwoofer will confirm this. This also added to the moxy and the gravitas of the second (and subsequent) seasons, and added together, they spelled success in capital letters! No other Trek show had this unique idea.

Next Gen was destined for a big splash, and year two, the Second Season, was when it really began to coalesce. The crew became THE Crew. This season cemented the chemistry that made all seven years of Next Gen possible.

No Trek collection would be complete without The Second Season of Next Gen.

Great Series no problems with the dvd or its content.

Only that its in fullscreen which is kinda annoying while watching on a Widescreen TV.

Sweet... 5 out of 5 stars.

Great DVD set. An avid South Park fan, I have yet to purchase any of the series on DVD. I will prob. break down some day and do it, but this is the best 'greatest hits' DVD set you could ask for. Great, great fun is to be had within this box. Eric Cartman is a truly amazing character.

Content- 5 stars. Couldn't ask for more.

Packaging- 5 stars (although case is larger than most DVD cases, this may irk some OCD collectors)

Awesome show, great job!

I'm sure it's great, but... 5 out of 5 stars.

...Amazon sent me a box that only has Disc Two in it. I'll be sending it back, and get a proper one, but regarding the DVD, the DVD is awesome.

12 episodes, (I'm currently only seeing six, but Amazon's gonna be on that. Oh, yeah. THEY'RE GONNA BE ON IT) of the hatably-lovable fat, foul-mouthed little sociopath.

Intros by the tubby little narcissist himself, and uncensored audio which is worth while, except for occuasional beeps that come up for some reason, but besides that uncensored. As far as I can see, there's one bleep in "Tonsil Trouble", one bleep in "Up the Down Steroid", as far as I can see.

I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it immensely when i get it back the right way, so i'll further comment then.

My 19 month old son loves this video! It is about 30 minutes long- just enough time to clean up the kitchen and get a few other things done around the house. All the favorite characters are there as well as a few new ones I did not know about including "Benny the Bunny" who is really funny..Elmo does a rap for the number 5 that thrills my son. Good quality both sound and sight.

GREAT VIDEO,EDUCATION,FUN AND ENTERTAINING.. 5 out of 5 stars.

The dvd arrived last week, for my 8 month old granddaughter. I decided on this dvd after reading the 5 star reveiws. I'm happy with the choice. It's educational, fun and entertaining. My granddaughter stops to look and listen when she hears several songs, rock around the clock, elmo singing #5 song and the crows singing.I'm sure as she gets older this be one of her favorite dvds.I usually play it twice back to back because I enjoy her smiles when she reacts to the songs. I HIGH RECOMMEND THIS DVD. I'm going to purchase another one so she will have one at her home.

Extraordinarily satisfying, but so very hard to let go of. The best TV could ever offer. 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I don't want to talk about the events in the series, as 1) that's not the purpose of a review, and 2) the less you know about this series, the better. You need to watch it for yourself, from start to finish. No commercials, no edits, no distractions. I made this a Sunday night ritual. One episode, at the very end of the day. I dragged it out for two-and-a-half years. I finally finished the series the other day and I cannot let go of it.

That finale is a real mind-blower.

As rich as I am for having experienced it--and having experienced it over a lengthy, staggered duration--I certainly do envy those who have the chance to newly experience what I have just concluded. And I will say that fiction will never be the same. Nor will I.

This is AS GOOD AS IT GETS. It's cheaper than (but no substitute for) therapy.

LIP (live in peace) before you RIP.

saved by the bell hawian style and las vegas wedding 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I liked the Las Vegas wedding one better than the hawian movie. I've always liked saved by the bell and the romance between Zach and Kelly. I really liked the Las Vegas wedding one because it was much more real life like and involved Zach's family, you see the outside of his house and see the school that's suppose to be Bayside High. I would recommend it.

Editorial Review:

HAWAIIAN STYLE: It starts out as a fantasy getaway, but a trip to Hawaii turns into a working holiday when the gang pitches in to help Kelly's uncle save his hotel. Meanwhile, new couple Slater and Jessie try to go two weeks without fighting, and Zack falls in love at first sight with a local Hawaiian girl. It's an adventure that's classic "Saved by the Bell" fun on the sunny shores of Waikiki! WEDDING IN LAS VEGAS: Kelly and Zack are finally tying the knot, but not before a few major problems. On the way to the alter, the guys land in jail, the girls' car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, Kelly accuses Zack of cheating on her, and Zack loses all the wedding money! Oh, and did we mention the jewelry heist? In true "Saved by the Bell" spirit, the gang pulls it together at the last minute and pulls off a Las Vegas wedding like no other.

"Respect my authorit-ah..." 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

A much better season than number one was. This is also the season with the most episodes, so you at least will find one good episode.

This season starts off with an April Fool's joke. The last episode of the first season was "Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut", the first hangover episode in which Cartman is trying to find out who his father is. The conclusion WAS supposed to air, but since it was April Fool's Day, they aired another episode instead, "Not Without My Anus" which was about Terrence and Philip, the two dirty Canadians who have their own show on the show. The episode itself is not very funny, but the fact that they played an April Fool's joke on the audience is a hilarious way to start out the season. The next episode, "Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut", we find out who Cartman's dad is...

In the episode "Chickenlover", we get one of Cartman's most famous lines ever. "RESPECT MY AUTHORIT-AH!" This is one of the better episodes of the season as Officer Barbrady shows a huge level of incompetency in one of his few episodes. And he also can't read.

"Roger Ebert Should lay off the Fatty Foods" is NOT about Roger Ebert, he only appears as a constellation. The two funny things in here are Cartman and the Plane-arium director. Cartman is trying to be the kid who sings in the Cheesy Poof commercial. "I love Cheesy Poofs, you love Cheesy Poofs. If we didn't eat Cheesy Poofs, we'd be...lame." On the flip side, we have the Plane-arium director who has a wierd bone disease which prevents him from saying the "t" in plane-arium. This is his only funny line, but it's hilarious. Oh, and Mr. Mackey has a funny scene, too. MIND MELD! "Hey, you're blocking my chi...m'kay?"

"Chef Aid" has that lawyer who won O.J. Simpson's case. That is probably the funniest it gets, but it IS funny. "Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, listen to what I say. See here. This is Chewbacca. He is a Wookie who lives on Endor where the Ewoks live. Now that does NOT MAKE SENSE!"

All in all, a better season than its predecessor. It gives one of the greatest lines ever and certainly helps propel South Park into more hilarious misadventures.
