Two stars for this wonderful series, that deserves at least five of them. But Amazon sells the last two season for a price that accumulates to the same price the Complete Series edition costs. And there is not price adjustment in sight ... oh well, I'm not buying the complete series edition since I already own the first three in single season editions ... but I'm also not buying the seperate editions at this price. It's a great thing to have the choice.

Can anyone help out with the above? The fourth (and fifth!)seasons have been available for some time but still don't seem to have gone down in price, in spite of the fact that the first three seasons have! I think they're just TOO expensive. I loved Seasons 1-3 and I'm sure Seasons 4 and 5 are as good. Come on Amazon sellers, lower your costs, please!!
By the way the rating reflects my views on the cost, not the show itself...

When it appeared on British television in 1999, Queer as Folk caused quite a ruckus. There was the sex, as graphic as most anything you'd see in an R-rated film. There were the questionable morals--after all, one of the lead characters knowingly seduced a virginal 15-year-old boy. There was, of course, the rampant homosexuality, seeing as the series followed a group of gay men living in Manchester. But what really got people talking was the quality of the series: no leaden soap opera or exploitative sex romp, Queer as Folk is an engrossing, incredibly well-written series that ranks with some of the best ever produced for British TV. Following the adventures of Stuart (Aidan Gillen), a rake capable of seducing anyone anywhere, and Vince (Craig Kelly), his boy-next-door best friend, as well as the family and friends who surround them, Queer as Folk paints a complex, emotional, and funny portrait of its characters, who range from the regular to the outlandish. Less sensationalistic than it sounds, Queer as Folk shares more in common with gritty, working-class British films like My Beautiful Laundrette and Beautiful Thing than it does with glossy, sex-themed American TV like Sex and the City or even the Americanized version of Queer as Folk. Though definitely comedic in parts, Queer as Folk takes a clear-eyed yet fond view of its characters, from lothario Stuart, who can be charming one minute and self-obsessed the next, to hapless Vince, a mess of insecurities who can't believe it when a handsome Australian (Peter O'Brien) falls in love with him. Fans of the American Queer as Folk will recognize the British counterparts to the American characters, as well as familiar plot arcs, but this series' writing and directing make it a far more dramatic--and multifaceted--look at gay life. I've been a fan of Queer Eye from the beginning and I would have bought ANY and ALL of the episodes on DVD, but even if you're not a regular viewer of the Fab 5, you can't help but enjoy this DVD. The Red Sox and their wives were good sports and together with the Fab 5, they help out a Little League team and give them an experience they will remember forever. If ever there was a bridge between gay and straight, this episode exemplifies the significance of letting the next generation see that the most important thing is love.
You'll have a "fabulous" time watching this! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is my favorite Queer Eye video so far....it was SO much fun seeing them interact with the Boston Red Sox and poke fun at each other and themselves....even if you have never have seen QE, this episode gives you a real sense of each of the guys' personalities and it looked like they had a lot of fun filming it!

Well, I'm absolutely obsessed with Queer Eye, so naturally I had to buy this. However, the reason I gave it five stars, other than my obsession, is the outtakes. I really love the outtakes!

I was prepared for some dissapointment with this DVD, needless to say I did not get it. ^_^ This is exactly what Carson fans want, I have watched it 4 times in less than 24 hours. Obsessive as that may sound. This is so great! I only hope the rest of the QE DVDs are as good.

I found myself holding my breath at times during this final part of the series. The story line is bold, quite disturbing at times, even alarming. It's not happily ever after. But I LOVED IT. I couldn't believe how exciting it was. It's not what you expect. If you want a gushy love story, go back and read Gordon Merrick. This, however, may shake you up a bit.
