This series is hilarious. Our PBS station no longer shows it (sigh) but at least it is available for purchase on Amazon. If you want a good laugh, spend an hour or two with the long suffering Victor, and his wife.

One Foot in the Grave 5 out of 5 stars.

If you loved Season 1, you'll love Season 2. To me, this is one of the best BBC series I've seen, and I can watch it over and over again.

funny funny funny!!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

one foot in the grave episodes are a must have, it is one of the better english comedies!!!

Hilarious British comedy- don't be a Victor Meldrew, watch it! 5 out of 5 stars.

I just love this show! I found it by accident when purchasing other British comedies on Amazon. It's a comedy along the lines of Fawlty Towers, The Thin Blue Line and Blackadder. Yet, One Foot in the Grave is distinctly unique. It covers an overlooked segment of the population (the recently retired & aging segment).

If you have never saw One Foot in the Grave, start at season 1 and work your way up through all the seasons. The show and characters are more enjoyable watched in order, as many times they will work off something that occured in a previous show. Season 1 & 3 are my favorites, but, Season 2 has its share of hilarious moments. My favorite episodes are "We have put her Living into the Grave" and "Love and Death".

An overview of the show, is about a 60 year old man (Mr. Victor Meldrew) whom is forced into retirement and has his whole life turned upside down. He feels he's just been forced to wait for death. As he battles against a world that now longer makes sense, trouble seems to find him at every corner. Richard Wilson plays Victor Meldrew and Annette Crosbie plays as his wife Margaret Meldrew. Both Crosbie and Wilson are hysterical & believable. Victor being on the brink of a breakdown all the time, and his wife the voice of sanity, that brings humor to every situation. Or is Victor the sanest of them all?

The older I get the more I identify with grumpy ole' Victor Meldrew.
Great show that gets funnier every season. If you are a fan of British comedy this is a must see!

Oz - Complete Series 5 out of 5 stars.

I had seen most of this series on TV, and it was one of the few that I was hanging out to own. It is quite intense and not for the faint hearted, but it is without doubt one of the best pieces of TV I've ever seen. The writing (apart from the scene where Tim finds out Diane is staying in Enlgand!) is fantastic, as is the acting; it is a veritable who's who of great actors who moved on to star in other mainstream series. If you want drama, thrller, action, deep character development as well as TV that actually makes you think, and proves that there really is no black and white in life, then Oz is for you.

What a journey!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

I don't know why anyone is worrying about this boxed set and its quality. It has all the words in it, it has all the episodes in it, and it has all the punch of a cult series that anyone buying it would want.

Someone commented on the menus being slow. That's how it is! It's a HBO release, and the budget never pretended to be huge. If that's a reason to not buy it, then you're missing out!

More than 48 hours of well scripted, well acted, slightly twisted drama for just over $100! This is a great investment, but you have to be a fan! Of course you're gonna be dissapointed if you don't even like the series and then buy the whole box set! I don't see why anyone would invest in a series set like this, only to write a review that says something to the effect of, 'I didn't like the first series, but thought I'd buy this box set anyway... It sucks! Don't buy it! The menus are slow, and the credits go for too long...'

This is a great series, and the fans of the show would do well to own it. If you like it, it's worth owning... if you don't like it, um... don't buy it.

I really enjoyed watching the four seasons of One Tree Hill. I loved all the characters, especially Nathan . I got hooked on this show as soon as I've gone through the first season. I realized I wanted to find out what went on in the second. .I still watch the reruns of the fifth season on Monday nights and I can't wait until Its released this september. There is something special about this show that makes it better than The O.C & other shows.

Good Deal 5 out of 5 stars.

Where is Season 2 and the rest of the series? This excellent series does not deserve to languish!
The studio's need to heed consumer interest. Please add to these ratings as the studio's do take them in to account.
Standing by.....as usual.

Season Two 5 out of 5 stars.

Showtime aired several great sci-fi series, such as: The Outer Limits, Star Gate SG1, Jeremiah, and Odyssey 5; these series were all ended prematurely. The Outer Limits ran six seasons on Showtime, to be picked up by the Sci-fi Channel for a final seventh season. Star Gate SG1 ran five seasons on Showtime, to be picked up by the Sci-fi Channel for another five seasons; Star Gate SG1 also saw the rise of a successful spin off series, Star Gate Atlantis, and two movies. Jeremiah ran two seasons on Showtime, but the producers saw the end coming and gave the story a decent resolution; the Sci-fi Channel is currently airing this series. Like The Outer Limits, which is missing the last six seasons on DVD, MGM has still to release the second and final season of Jeremiah on DVD. Odyssey 5 ran one season on Showtime, to be axed without a nice resolution but it was rushed to DVD.

Roughly translated, don't bother watching science fiction on Showtime (even though it's great) until another network picks it up; and don`t hope for a complete release if MGM's in charge.

Editorial Review:

There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. The complete first season of THE OUTER LIMITS, Sci-Fi's critically-acclaimed and most original series, is finally available on DVD! Like the classic 1960's series of the same name, each episode is an imaginative exploration of humanity's greatest hopes and darkest fears and include special guest appearances by Alyssa Milano, Ryan Reynolds, Rae Dawn Chong, Beau Bridges, Rebecca De Mornay and Robert Patrick. Winner of the Cable Ace Award for best Dramatic Series, this Emmy® nominated show deals with the consequences of such controversial and thought-provoking topics as genetic manipulation, alien visitation and life after death.

Never Too Old To Rock & Roll 4 out of 5 stars.
8 of 9 people found this review helpful.

Closing in on 60, Ozzy was in his mid-50s during the 2002 recording of Live at Budokan. You'd never know it by watching his performance on this DVD.

It's absolutely amazing that these days when you hear Ozzy speak he sounds as if he just smoked a dooby after 13 Cuervo shots (but supposedly he's been clean for years). Although when he sings he still sounds as good today as he did 30 years ago.

The line-up of the band for the show on Live at Budokan is: Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde (Guitar), Robert Trujillo (Bass), Mike Bordin (Drums) and--hidden off stage the entire show--John Sinclair (Keyboard). All of the guys in the band prior to hitting the stage must have huddled and committed to each other to go out and play the music true to the studio versions of the songs. All of the tracks on Live at Budokan are performed with careful detail and a lot of energy.

Throughout the show, Ozzy acts just like you'd think he would (if you're familiar with his other DVDs or have ever been to one of his shows): summing it up...he's one of the iconic rock performers of our time. He acts like he's nuts. He rocks out. He runs (saunters) all over the stage....But the whole time he never skips a beat.

And Zakk Wylde? Man...this guy is nothing short of phenomenal. To most of the general public if you say, "Eddie Van Halen," everyone knows who you're talking about. If you say, "Zakk Wylde," everyone usually goes, "Who?" Zakk Wylde is one of the best...no wait...is THE best hard rock guitarist on the circuit today. His riffs are heavy and melodic and his solos are complex and precise. He definitely brings his guitar playing talent to his live shows.

Trujillo and Bordin back Ozzy and Zakk with talent and classic hard rock showmanship.

The picture is full frame on Live at Budokan which kinda stinks, but the audio gives you the choice of stereo or Dolby 5.1; the 5.1 mode is clear and crisp.

To me, the biggest negative in almost every Ozzy show that I've seen (and I've seen a lot) is his setlist choices. It seems that he always throws in those songs that were either deep on a release or simply just not the best choices. Here's the setlist for Live at Budokan with my suggestion for replacement (of seven songs) in parenthesis for their next DVD:

- I Don't Know
- That I Never had (I'd replace with Perry Mason)
- Believer (I'd replace with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath)
- Junkie (I'd replace with Miracle Man)
- Mr. Crowley
- Gets Me Through (I'd replace with I Just Want You)
- Suicide Solution
- No More Tears
- I Don't Want to Change the World (I'd replace with Shot in the Dark)
- Road to Nowhere (I'd replace with Over the Mountain)
- Crazy Train
- Mama, I'm Coming Home
- Bark at the Moon
- Paranoid (I'd replace with Sweet Leaf)

I know...a true fan wants the deep cuts; a true fan wouldn't tell Ozzy what to do; etc, etc, etc....Crazy...but that's how it goes.

While Live at Budokan is Ozzy's best DVD in terms of quality to date, I'm hoping that with the 2007 release of a new CD called Black Rain, perhaps Ozzy will give us a 2007 or 2008 hi-def, widescreen picture DVD upgrade (with, of course, Dolby and/or DTS sound).
