I hate censorship. 1 out of 5 stars.

There's absolutely no excuse to excise scenes or music on any TV show or movie DVD. We fans are willing to pay an extra 10 or 20 dollars to get the original music.

Almost perfect 4 out of 5 stars.

This DVD is great, except for one factor. Some of the episodes are edited, probably due to protection from lawsuits. All episodes that have songs (such as "In Some Secluded Rendezvous" and "Peck of My Heart") have the songs omitted. Devoted Odd Couple fans (such as this reviewer) will love having this great show in our collection but the omissions are an obvious drawback. Had I known about the omissions, I still would have bought the DVD, even though the disappointment is a great one. Fortunately, most episodes are shown in their entirety. Fans who love this show will undoubtedly appreciate all its jewels - or to paraphrase Felix from a season 5 episode - that it has a new polish, a panache.

Editorial Review:

Two divorced New Yorkers---a slob and a fussbudget---try to live together `without driving each other crazy' in this classic sitcom based on Neil Simon's hit play and movie. Both Jack Klugman and Tony Randall won Emmys in the leads, the latter in the final year of a five-season run. `Now if I only had a job,' Randall said at the Emmy gala. The show inspired two remakes, one an animated series portraying the main characters as a cat and a dog, and a 1982-83 version with a mostly black cast.

This is a great ending to the UK series. Hilariously funny. A must see for viewers who have so far only seen the US version. Watch the first two seasons first though!

bbc 5 out of 5 stars.

Love the office. Ricky Gervais is hilarious. And thanks for sharing your comedy with the state. Cheers

Perfect wrap up 5 out of 5 stars.

This final chapter of the Office saga is tightly written, extremely funny, and surprisingly moving. The writers are almost sadistic in their treatment of David Brent, as they throw him from one excruciating humiliation to another, but we see him eventually grow, show some introspection, find a good woman and finally get a laugh. We see the Tim and Dawn situation resolve itself in the most satisfying way possible and we see Chris Finch slapped down like everyone has been hoping he would. This is a classic piece of television, as are all the British "Office" episodes.

The extras are great, too 5 out of 5 stars.

I can only echo all the positive comments thus far..if you're an Office fan you need this "closure" eh? But I want to add that Gervais/Merchant projects are the only ones where the extra features have me laughing as hard( or harder) than the show itself. Don't skip them!

Good Follow Up 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Ozzy and pals have done it again! This time the series is much more warm. The fact that Sharon was diagonised with cancer only served to make the show reveal some stonger emotions. The kids are still brats and the Oz is still a madman, but you can tell that they truly love one another. Most reality TV is somewhat fake, and The Osbournes have obviously staged episodes, but the emotion is real. Very good DVD. Once again...NOT FOR KIDS.

GARBAGE! 1 out of 5 stars.

Why anyone would pay 2 see this is beyond me? Here are a list of reason's why:
1.)The Osbourne family is sick and perverted. They love watching their dogs take a s--- on the carpet and think their house is all clean with just a quick spray of cleaning products over the filthy areas of their house. Kelly loves to make out with her dogs as often as possible.
2.) Jack should be forced to keep his shirt on at all times until he does not lose AT LEAST 5 STONE.
3.) Practically every inch of Ozzy's body is covered with tattoo's, he looks like a mad homeless man who has not taken a shower for weeks. As he is completely illiterate he does not know that you can become HIV positive/get hepatitis if the tatoo needle is not cleaned properly.
4.)Ozzy is an idiot, recall 'I just bought 300 pounds worth of chocolate and I don't even like it'.

Hilarious British comedy- don't be a Victor Meldrew, watch it! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I just love this show! I found it by accident when purchasing other British comedies on Amazon. It's a comedy along the lines of Fawlty Towers, The Thin Blue Line and Blackadder. Yet, One Foot in the Grave is distinctly unique. It covers an overlooked segment of the population (the recently retired & aging segment).

If you have never saw One Foot in the Grave, start at season 1 and work your way up through all the seasons. The show and characters are more enjoyable watched in order, as many times they will work off something that occured in a previous show. Season 1 has its share of hilarious moments. My favorite episodes are "The Valley of Fear", "The Big Sleep" and "The Return of the Speckled Band".

An overview of the show, is about a 60 year old man (Mr. Victor Meldrew) whom is forced into retirement and has his whole life turned upside down. He feels he's just been forced to wait for death. As he battles against a world that now longer makes sense, trouble seems to find him at every corner. Richard Wilson plays Victor Meldrew and Annette Crosbie plays as his wife Margaret Meldrew. Both Crosbie and Wilson are hysterical & believable. Victor being on the brink of a breakdown all the time, and his wife the voice of sanity, that brings humor to every situation. Or is Victor the sanest of them all?

The older I get the more I identify with grumpy ole' Victor Meldrew.
Great show that gets funnier every season. If you are a fan of British comedy this is a must see!

Editorial Review:

The BAFTA-nominated series about the growing pains of growing old is finally on DVD! Forced into early retirement, Victor Meldrew optimistically tries to adjust to years of leisure with his wife Margaret. If only events -- coincidences, misunderstandings, bureaucratic inefficiencies and sheer bad luck -- didn't conspire against him.

sour puss? 2 out of 5 stars.

funny idea. i would get more of a kick from the oblongs in graphic novel format (does such a thing exist?) -- as an animated cartoon, it falls flat. there's so much going for it: the artwork is great. the characters are odd & original. the charming will ferrell is in it (think stranger than fiction ferrell).

i didn't laugh once.
i was bored.
boo. i wanted to love this.

2.5 stars.

TV's most loving family....OF FREAKS! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

A staple of historic television is the family sitcom, Leave It To Beaver, The Brady Bunch, Family Ties, Full House and so many more. They are the stories of unity, life lessons and love. Now take that loving family and make them all deformed due to living near a toxic waste dump. Say hello to the Oblongs!

This show lasted for only one year on the WB now CW 11. It was one of the most revolutionary animated sitcoms way before it's time. If it were to be released now it would probably be a smash hit. This is also perhaps Will Ferrel's best performance playing the loving and devoted father Bob, who is nothing but a bouncing torso with the best one liners like 'Pickles, have you seen my ankle weights?! These characters may not the be the most plesent to look at or some of the things they do may cause the gag reflex to kick in. Yet, this show brings out the diversity of rich and poor folk, important moral values and of course the importance of family. Give this overlooked gem a try, I promise you will get a laugh.

Editorial Review:

Based on Angus Oblong's underground cartoon world, The Oblongs are so much dysfunctional as slightly non-functional. Living next to a polluted swamp has left them with the occasional missing limb or mysterious growth, but through it all, this close-knit family sticks together. Sometimes literally.

retooled for laughter . . . 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

A one camera setup was used in the first season of The Odd Couple, and the look of the episodes shot inside the New York apartment set was tight, almost claustrophobic at times. Stars Tony Randall and Jack Klugman felt the setup cramped their style and retarded their creativity. For the second season, the program was filmed on an entirely new set, before a live audience, using three cameras. As a result, The Odd Couple was a wide open look and feel, with smooth transitional shots now possible. It is a huge improvement, and the two stars display new energy in their performances, taking their comedy to a higher and more physical level. In one episode, Oscar is showing Felix how to play football, and a nimble Randall leapfrogs over Klugman while he is down in a football stance. Another time Felix does a headstand, then kips up on a desk, finishing with flurry of pushups in an impressive display of physical fitness. Oscar isn't as physically active, but when properly motivated, you can find him running around the living room exercising a greyhound.

While much activity is still centered around apartment life, the boys get out and about town too. The circle of characters really opens up to more than just the boys over for a poker game. With Felix's ex-wife Gloria (Janice Hansen), and Oscar's ex-wife Blanche (Brett Sommers), both being featured prominently in various episodes. Dr. Nancy Cunningham (Joan Hotchkis) is Oscar's steady girlfriend, and Al Molinaro is back as Murray the cop. For this season, Pamlyn Ferdin is Felix's daughter Edna, and Penny Marshall makes her first appearance as Oscar's Secretary Myrna.

Notable guest stars include Pat Morita, John Fiedler, Joan Van Ark, Vito Scotti, and Hal Smith. The eclectic parade of celebrity guest stars that would become an Odd Couple trademark begins with the likes of opera singer Richard Fredericks, and comedian David Steinberg.

Highlights include `The Fat Farm', where the guys head to a retreat to lose weight, `Security Arms', where they move into a high-security building, and `Partner's Investment' which features Felix and Oscar toiling in a Japanese restaurant.

This is a great season, rich with diversity and expansive character development. There is a lot going on. The plots have moved beyond early clichés, like Felix's bad back going out, and Oscar's frequent threats to kick Felix out on the street. From here, the stage is set for even better things to come. The only downside is that unlike the Season One set, which had a bonus disc and various commentary tracks, Season Two has absolutely no extras.

the office (british version) is brilliant, however, the delivery of this product was one month delayed. i bought several things at amazon so far and the products were never delivered in time.

Painfully funny 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

The second series of this brilliant British series is just as funny, though even darker, than the first. The Swindon and Slough branches of Werham Hogg have been combined. David Brent (Ricky Gervais) is now in charge of the combined sections, while Swindon's former boss, Neil (Patrick Baladi), has been placed above David, and he proves to be the kind of perfect boss that David has always fancied himself to be. David's naked jealousy, so transparent to everyone around him, is as painful to watch as it is hilarious.

No show has made me laugh and wince simultaneously so often. Gervais and his co-writer Stephen Merchant have the courage to take these characters to their logical fates, leading to an unusually downbeat, though honest, conclusion for a truly great show. As before, fellow cast members Martin Freeman, MacKenzie Crook, and Lucy Davis contribute to the overall excellence.

Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Daily Show) stars in The Office, a fresh and funny mockumentary-style glimpse into the daily interactions of the eccentric workers at the Dunder Mifflin paper supply company. Based on the smash-hit British series of the same name and adapted for American Television by Greg Daniels (King of the Hill, The Simpsons), this fast-paced comedy parodies contemporary American water-cooler culture. Earnest but clueless regional manager Michael Scott (Carell) believes himself to be an exceptional boss and mentor, but actually receives more eye-rolls than respect from his oddball staff. Entertainment Weekly calls The Office "smart and trenchant," and all six hilarious season one episodes are available here on DVD for the first time. The awkward silences in The Office will have you laughing out loud!

It's time to clock in for Season Two of The Office, the comically honest look at the world of white-collar employment. Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) won a Golden Globe for his role as Michael Scott, the sometimes pathetic but always hilarious regional manager of Dunder-Mifflin paper supply company. Join him and the amazing ensemble cast (Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak) as Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam and Ryan navigate the hidden romance and open absurdity of the business world, from the Christmas party to sexual harassment training to the "Booze Cruise" retreat to the heartbreak of "Casino Night." Developed by Greg Daniels (King of the Hill, The Simpsons), fully staffed with all 22 outrageous episodes and packed with hours of laugh-ot-loud bonus features, The Office: Season Two is the must-own cure for the workday blues.

$haron the Shrew kills Ozzy! 1 out of 5 stars.
5 of 17 people found this review helpful.

I can't believe that Ozzy fans give this series a great review! Sharon Osbourne has used Ozzy's fame to create this idiotic show about how dysfunctional their family is and she seems to relish in the fact that her husband is falling apart.

Jack and Kelly are no-talent idiots, riding along with their mum as they continue to make one of the best front men in rock and roll look looking like a stooge. Hey, I'll be the first one to face facts and lay the blame at Ozzy's feet for screwing up his life with alcohol and drugs, but why in God's name would his wife want to capitalize on the fact that he is now in rough shape because of his early days!?!?!

Recent events with Ozzfest lead me to believe that Sharon Osbourne is a money grubbing shrew and she is going to milk Ozzy for all he is worth until he is dead, at which point I am sure she will have his remains embalmed and take his corpse on tour and charge us all $200 to look at the "Dead Ozzy"!

Out of respect for Ozz, don't buy this garbage and let Sharon know where she can stick "Her Reality"!

Editorial Review:

They're ba-a-a-a-ack -- in their all-new must-see episodes from the wildly hilarious MTV reality show! There's always something new, funny, and completely unpredictible as Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack let the cameras into their home to capture every insane moment of their lives! What's the beef between Kelly and Christina Aguilera? What happens when Ozzy and Sharon leave Jack home alone? Will Ozzy finally learn to use the remote? All of these questions and more are answered in an expanded, laugh-packed collection. And as an added bonus, this must-have 2-disc set comes bursting with extras including an Ozzy translator, a photo gallery, and more!
