The girls are at it again! 5 out of 5 stars.

Laverne & Shirley is one of the best buddy-buddy shows of all-time. Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams had wonderful chemistry, too bad these women didn't get along off-set. I love the opening theme song, such a classic! Season 4 is definitely my favorite, I highly recommend this t.v. gem, enjoy!

Laverne and Shirley ROCK!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

Loved it as a kid- still good wholesome humor! You gotta love these crazy girls!

Laverne & Shirley - The Fourth Season 5 out of 5 stars.

Still VERY funny even after all the years. We now have seasons one through four and are waiting for season five to be released.

Not so funny 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 2 people found this review helpful.

You have to be a fan of Shirley and Laverne to appreciate this not so funny video. Too much performing (dancing, singing, etc.) and not enough well-written humor as in the prior seasons. I actually found a few of the segments boring. Perhaps Cindy William's disputes and dissatisfaction with her acting parts affected the performance of this particular video. Would probably not be interested in purchasing any further produced seasons.

Editorial Review:

Set in the 1950s, this half-hour situation comedy revolved around the friendship between bright-eyed, naive and demure Shirley Feeney and brassy, tough-talking, street smart Laverne De Fazio. Two bottle cappers for Shotz Brewery, the duo dated an array of questionable men, tolerated their dippy, loony neighbors Lenny and Squiggy, and forever pursued to "make all their dreams come true."

LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

I was thrilled when they finally released this on DVD. I preordered my copy, and a copy for my mother. We've watched the show from day one, and even taped episodes to watch later, so you can imagine how happy we were to finally see it on DVD. This is one show i'll never tire of watching (this and martin), it's full of laughs, and even has some "reality" related issues. Its' a great show to watch, now it's been what 2 years since the release of season 1, where the heck is season 2?? By now season 3 should out too, heck marting got all his out, in less than 2 yrs. Living Single season 2, must hurry. We fans are waiting.......

Hard-nosed attorney Maxine Shaw (Erika Alexander) has an appetite for winning, both in and out of the courtroom. Sweet cousin Synclaire (Kim Coles), legendary for both her charm...and her naivete. And rounding out the crew is Khadijah James (Queen Latifah), a burgeoning entrepreneur who holds Flavor Magazine, and the household, together. Smart, sassy and single --- now that's Living.

Editorial Review:

Casting a fresh look on a timeless legend, this exciting, action-packed update of the DC Comics Superman captures the daring exploits of the mysterious visitor from another planet and brings the city of Metropolis to life. Originally aired in the 90's on ABC, this humorously romantic action/adventure hour-long series puts a modern twist on the time-honored, legendary superhero, bringing to life the comic book characters Clark Kent (Dean Cain); his superhuman alter-ego, Superman; and Lois Lane (Teri Hatcher), fiction's first lady of the press, in the most unrequited romance of all time.

LE FEMME NIKITA SEASON 4 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is the very best season on the show. So much happens. If I were to purchase only one season, this would have to be it.

High Marks for a Cult Favorite, Low Marks for a Not so Great S4 3 out of 5 stars.

I give LFN five 5, heck 10, stars out pure devotion and love for this show and the characters that I've been enamored with since I was a kid.

But, people, that doesn't mean it automatically gets 5 stars in everything else.

Season 4 was disjointed and at times, boring and unexciting, with mediocre writing and plotting, that really began at the end of Season 3. While the acting was still stellar, perhaps the best by the supporting actors who were the focus rather than Nikita, there was little cohesiveness or unity between episodes, which LFN had always managed to do well. That is, bringing cogency that layered and developed into other episodes and linked them very well without overdoing it or over complicating it.

While there were some interesting, albeit lackluster, episodes that focus more on the bad guys and action sequences, with a dull and underdeveloped secret revelation about Nikita's double cross, it just lost that spark. Madeline is unceremoniously killed off, George too, Birkhoff is sacrificed then resurrected as his twin (though well done by the actor), and Operations sedately capitulates. In other words, it's black hole chaos and everyone just dies or says, 'ok, sure'. The last episode, which I personally disliked and found senseless, has Nikita as judge, jury and executioner, with the lame and uninspired side story of Mr. Jones presiding. Talk about neat and tidy. It's Nikita's time of retribution where she gets to decide the fate of Section and its people: riiiiiiight...sure. Thus, dewy doe eyed, she sentences Michael for cancellation only to save him at the end. And then tells him that she never loved him and she was, uh, just doing her job. What??? To which he responds by forgoing her confusing attempt at saving him and walks off. Huh???

A little disappointing for a show that maintained such ingenuity, drive, creativity and cleverness done with class, great dialogue and character development that kicked butt. Only to die off (for a time) so...with such a small bang, and bags of disappointment. And it's obvious that the producers knew they that they were getting the ax mid-season and began hodgepodging it together. There's the good, the bad and the ugly for all to see, it's hard to say what stood out more...The canceled scenes and commentaries are interesting and explain a few things, and avoids some too. The gag reel, while amusing, really didn't show anything. The great look of the show is still there and the only comforting element, as confusing, unsatisfactory, disconnected plotting abounded.

Last good season 3 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Although the special effects were improved for season two, the stories were not quite as strong as in season one. I did enjoy some of these episodes, especially The Pylon Express. And listening to the commentary on The Longest Day may have been worth the price of the DVD set alone.

If you enjoyed Land of the Lost or want to share it with your own children, I'd recommend Seasons One and Two.

Second Season is even better. 5 out of 5 stars.

Return to the Land of the Lost, with the Sleestaks, the Lost City and the Pylons. But now add such great ideas as the new alien called the Zarn, the Library of Skulls and the Mist Marsh. With writers such as Theodore Sturgeon and the return of such actors such as Walker Edmission who plays Enik the second season is even better. The unlimited imagination and the advanced science fiction plots are piled onto the solid framework from the first season. Like a good cake that finally gets some home made icing.
But we also see the evolution of the family. They are working together to survive - the cave has a lived in look, the ropes and pulleys they have made, the new tools and even clothing they have created. They show us how the Marshalls test new plants and food on animals and deal with daily life. They wish to escape yet at the same time try to make the Land of the Lost a home.

Editorial Review:

It's time to get "Lost" all over again. But be on guard! Keep your eyes peeled for Sleestak! Because the big green meanies are back - now even more dangerous than ever before. You'd best watch your step or you just might find yourself standing alone before the dreaded Library of Skulls- and that's but one of the many perils awaiting you in this second spine-tingling season of the legendary Land of the Lost.

America's Favorite Turkey Finally on DVD 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

If you're a die hard fan of the Lone Ranger series from the golden age of tv, or even the 2 big screen movies that Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels made, you will be disappointed by this film. Not to mention that its star Klinton Splisbury was dubbed, and after that disappeared into obscurity. Despite all this, I saw this on the big screen and liked it, so much so I taped it off HBO many moons ago, and since copied that tape to disc. Let's look at some of the good things it has. 1) John Reid is made out to be a lawyer starting his practice rather than just a Texas Ranger along side his brother. 2) Jason Robards gives a performance of Grant that is believable. 3) Christopher Lloyd's Cavendish is not just an outlaw. Here he is an ex Union Army and he runs his band like a western day Godfather. Moreover Butch is only a nickname, his given name is "Bartholemew". 4) Collins, the double agent is more convincing, on radio I hear he was a half indian scout, here he is more the line of Benedict Arnold. 5) Michael Horse's Tonto speaks normal English even among his tribe while those who came before him did injun talk (even if could speak normally when not acting like. Silverheels). 6) For a time, John Reid has a love interest which makes you think that you may see more of Amy at a later time. It doesn't happen, but the idea is what counts here. Alright I agree, Merle Haggard's poor rhymes in his narration could have been improved, but they did help tell the story. As for John Barry's music, it's not Dances With Wolves, but still lively to keep you awake for the whole 1 hour and 40 minutes of the movie (the recording of William Tell aka the main theme during the fight scene at the end is first rate). Finally you do see, the human side of Reid at the end. The radio show and tv show made him out to be someone who would just fight for justice and would NEVER take a life, but you see here in the end that he was ready to take Cavendish out as revenge for his brother's death. It shows that for a minute, his old self was still there. It's when he realizes that he would be no better than Butch himself that he spares him, and thus now the code we all know the masked man lives by is established. So look at this way, is the movie a turkey, YES. Is it a movie to be ignored, NO. There are many people were around from 1980 to the present who never knew "the legend" and this does tell a reasonably accurate version of it. It's taken nearly 30 years for hit to hit DVD, my advice, buy it and keep it with your rare treasures that come and go on DVD. The chances on us seeing its like again are rare.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER ! 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

My complaint isn't with the show itself. It's with Warner Home Video. I purchased this DVD from Amazon. It arrived shortly thereafter. However, when I opened it, it had two disc ones, and NO disc two. I called the customer service number on the box and explained the situation. They were very polite and said they were a "fulfillment" company but would forward the problem to Warner Home Video.

To make a long story short, I have called a total of five times since early December, and been totally ignored. ALL I WANT IS THE RIGHT DISC. Perhaps Warner Home Video is so big it can ignore customers with impunity, but as a lifelong Superman geek, I'm terribly disappointed.

WARNER HOME VIDEO, DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS?

Editorial Review:

Lois Lane and Clark Kent saved the best for last. In their final season, they finally get married. There are a few roadblocks along the highway to marital bliss: a worlds-at-war battle with Lord Nor; an adventure-packed encounter with the Wedding Destroyer, who believes folks are better dead than wed; and even wedding-night interruptus compliments of time-traveling H.G. Wells. But before or after the shoes and rice, all 22 fourth-season episodes zing with Lois & Clark's action/comedy blend.

A Great Season 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The second season Lois and Clark is just a great season, especially for comic book fans. A lot of villains from the comics made an appearance this season; the Toyman, the Prankster, Metallo and so on. Denise Crosby also makes this season really interesting as she quests to bring Lex Luthor back from the dead. There is just so much fun to be had with this season. Overall, really great that I'd recommend to all Superman fans.

What a great show... 5 out of 5 stars.

I'm sad to say I somehow missed Lois and Clark when it was on TV, but I am very glad to have discovered it on DVD. The effects are mickey mouse and the plots can be silly, but it doesn't matter. The writing and the chemistry between Hatcher and Cain makes this show charming and totally addicting. I LOVE it!

I could not wait to watch all 4 seasons and can't for the life of me understand why this show was cancelled. (I heard network politics and I believe it.) I was depressed to get to the end of season 4 and not have another to watch.

JUST A FUN SERIES TO WATCH 5 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

The 2nd season of LIS moved the series from serious sci-fi to camp, but somehow,it had a charm to it that few series have been able to duplicate, before or since. The show changed it's format to "camp" to do battle with other popular shows of it's era, such as "Batman", but it remains one of the most popular shows in TV history because of the terrific ensemble cast, and the witty repartee amongst the actors. Jonathan Harris was incomparable as Dr. Zachary Smith, a character he created which eventually typecast him and prevented him from playing any other role on TV. The plots were simple, but fun. I have all of the DVD's of this series, and would not part with any of them. Just sit back, enjoy the fun, and travel back in time to your childhood, which watching these episodes seems to do for you. I well remember coming home from school as a child and watching the reruns of this show at 4:00 on Channel 5 in NY. This show makes one smile and some of the episodes were excellent. I highly recommend that you puchase this DVD along with all of the other LIS DVD's for sale. It is classic television during a more pure and simple time in Americana...

In His World, No Good Deed Goes Unpunished 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

"The Last Detective, Series 1"is, of course, the first of the popular British mystery series, a witty police procedural, to find its way here, and how lucky for us. The series is based on the Dangerous Davies novels by Welshman Leslie Thomas; it was produced by the British firm Granada for Britain's Independent Television (ITV).

It stars that affable Everyman Peter Davison ("All Creatures Great and Small," "Campion") as the title character, a lowly detective constable, called "Dangerous" Davies ironically, as he is of hardly any danger to the criminal elements - it's his friends, family, and co-workers who'd better watch out. And called the last detective by his boss, as in "You're the last detective I'd ever put on a case, except a crap one." The decidedly unglamorous Davies even works in an unimportant, out-of-the way North London precinct, Willesden.

Davison is ably supported by Sean Hughes (the guy from Eejit records in "The Commitments") as his eccentric friend Mod; and Emma Amos as his estranged wife Julie. Rob Spendlove gives us a tough supervisor, Detective Inspector Aspinall; Charles De'Ath as DS Pimlott and Billy Geraghty as DC Barrett add greatly to the flavor of the cop shop. The series is certainly character-rich and character-driven.

Davies is a rumpled, clumsy guy, nice even when he's drunk, and unfailingly polite to little old ladies; nevertheless, he does seem always to get his man - or woman. The mysteries in this first series, based directly on the works of Thomas are complex and flavorful, though murder itself is in surprisingly short supply. The episodes are:
1. "The Last Detective." Feature length pilot. Davies discovers the unsolved 1981 murder of a 17 year old girl. As he solves it, he proves once again Clare Booth Luce's useful adage, "No good deed goes unpunished." And gets himself in dutch with his co-workers.
2. "Dangerous By Moonlight." An elderly man has disappeared; his wife, stunningly played by Sian Philips, seems surprisingly unconcerned. This episode takes Davies to a dance club that caters to senior citizens: he and Mod have got to stay light on their feet. And it offers further proof that no good deed goes unpunished.
3. "Tricia." Davies' kindness to demanding women gets him two thankless cases. An old busybody has suspicions of her next-door neighbor. And an attractive young woman seems to be getting unduly involved with him. Once again, no good deed goes unpunished.
4. "Lofty." An eccentric old vagrant (played by popular English comedian Norman Wisdom), whom Davies has befriended in a park, is found dead in a canal. Davies takes on the case because no one else will. And no good deed goes unpunished.

This series is witty, entertaining, and intellectually and emotionally satisfying. But: and here comes the DePue closed captions report: there are none. And the cast spits out rapid-fire North London dialect. You'll have to work for your fun.

Editorial Review:

He’s gentle, old-fashioned, and decent; nice even when he’s drunk. But these qualities only earn Detective Constable "Dangerous" Davies (Peter Davison, Dr. Who, All Creatures Great and Small) the scorn of his fellow detectives in a small London police station. His boss tells him straight out that he’s the last detective he would assign to a major crime-solving mission. Unlucky in love, rumpled, and accident prone, Dangerous muddles on and, with the help of his eccentric friend Mod (Sean Hughes, The Commitments), he proves the merits of his dogged, unglamorous method. He likes being a detective and, occasionally, he gets to do some good. Based on the Dangerous Davies novels by Leslie Thomas.
