Great Christmas Movie for the Family 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I have a 4yr old boy and a 6yr old girl and cant tell you enough about how much we enjoyed this movie especially over the Christmas season. The plots are clean yet interesting and teach us the true meanings of Christmas. These shows are a great lesson on working on conflict resolution and how simple life could be. I only wish television could be this clean again.

Merry Christmas from Michael Landon & the Entire Ingalls Family!!, 5 out of 5 stars.

I had no idea this was TWO Christmas episodes! Imagine my surprise when it arrived! I thought it was just "A Christmas They Never Forgot." Anyway, I have been a fan of this much-loved series for years. As kids, my bother and I grew up watching "Little House on the Prairie" and every Christmas I get him a DVD. Karen Grassle (played: Caroline Ingalls)
Melissa Gilbert (played: Laura Ingalls)
Melissa Sue Anderson (played: Mary Ingalls)

Ketty Lester (played: Hester-Sue Terhune)

Melissa "Missy" Francis (played: Cassandra Cooper Ingalls)
Jason Bateman (played: James Cooper Ingalls)
Rachel Lindsay & Sydney Greebush (Carrie Ingalls)
Wendi & Brenda Turnbaugh (played Grace Ingalls)

These are the 2 eps that this DVD incldues, with the original air dates & show descriptions:

Christmas at Plum Creek December 25, 1974

And, on Christmas morning everyone gets the surprise of their lives! This ep is from Season One .

A Christmas They Never Forgot December 21, 1981

And, one of the stories even includes is a Christmas clip from the Little House Original Pilot Movie, with Mr. Edwards! "A Christmas They Never Forgot" is from Season Eight .

Seductive...addictive...adhesive 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I have to admit that when I first started watching the first episode, I was pretty turned off by the flashy, razzle-dazzle jump-cutty style of the show. But once the story line took over I was definitely hooked. This is a supremely seductive show--not merely because the lead actress, Peta Wilson, is hot, but because the stories fuse enough exaggerated/fantasy stuff with real-world terrorist activities, a number of which have actually occurred. The show sticks in my head; it's adhesive. OK, so the Operations guy's acting is basically stiff as a board, and Michael (Roy Dupuis)'s nickname should really be "Mister Whisper" since that's basically how he talks all the time. But the guys who play Birkoff (the IT geek) and Walter (the weapons master) are both decent actors, and Alberta Watson as Madeline is an old pro, so she's fine. And Peta Wilson herself is also a more than decent actress; she does a great job as the main character.

But it's the plotting that carries the show; it's great. Yes, sometimes there are some logical inconsistencies, and sometimes there are some truly grisly moments (a father bites his daughter to death in the neck). But you can tell that the primary focus of the writers, producers and directors is to entertain--and that they do manage to accomplish. Along with "Nowhere Man" and "Profit" I count this as one of the best TV series ever made.

Editorial Review:

The complete first season of this highly rated, cult favorite USA Network original series is now available on DVD. Condemned to life in prison for a vicious crime she didn't commit, Nikita (Peta Wilson) reluctantly chooses to live as a secret government assassin whose life is controlled by a mysterious agent (Roy Dupuis) and his colleagues. Based on the characters created for the film Nikita.

About the episode "War of the Robots" 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Right from the start I knew this was a well written episode. As the episode opens, Will,Robot and Dr. Smith are all fishing for space bass down at the pond. It's a funny bit, Robot won't let Smith"off the hook" when Smith starts in with the fish stories. But , in showing him participating in fishing like one of the boys, it also establishes the Robot as a valid member of the Robinson family, rather than an appliance. This helps heighten the tension later when the Evil robot threatens to replace Robot as the family's mechanical man. When the Evil robot made Robot look pathetic and outdated in order to gain the Robinson's exclusive trust, I actually felt bad for the big metal guy. So the family continues to put more trust in the Evil robo, unheedful of Robot's warnings. Only Will believes him, and as the Robinsons find out too late, Robot was right. Evil robot means to enslave them and turn them over to his evil overlords for "experimentation" This is a great episode, representative of the best of the series writing, acting and directing. And in giving the Robot emotions, which it recognizes as not"part of my original programming" the show touches on themes expounded on more fully in films like "Blade Runner". Well worth the cost.

Lone Gunmen Series Content great, production poor. 4 out of 5 stars.

Production poor. The Second DVD had same data on both sides therefore missing three episodes. Amazon replaced with remarkable speed and ease. Replacement had second disc with all data although it was on reversed sides. Content excellent especially Planet of the FroHikes(spelling?). Amazon did its usual outstanding job on something that was not their fault.

a Steal!!!!!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

Awesome 5 out of 5 stars.

The Lone Gunmen should have been a very successful show. Anyone who enjoys their recurring roles on the X-Files should be in love with this spin-off as well. The plots are really entertaining and funny and the characters really develop here in just 13 episodes. Jimmy Bond, Kimmy and Yves Adele Harlow are all tremendous character additions, each cast perfectly. As the show came to a close it was only just taking off! But these episodes are all wonderfully entertaining in themselves. (Though I don't quite know why they are still so obsessed with the JFK assassination, since the Gunmen solved that one on the X-Files already, but... Kimmy also died on the X-Files when his name was Jimmy, so we'll have to let some things slide!)
If only the execs had given it more time, it would have been a great cult hit.
As for the DVD set, I do with there would have been deleted scenes and more bonus material included, but unfortunately that didn't happen. There are a few great commentary tracks for different episodes, though, with the producers and the actors as well.
Highly recommended viewing for those who missed the boat, and a definite collector's must-have for X-Philes, and there are a few excellent X-Files tie-ins on these episodes, but really what is impressive is how the Gunmen stand out on their own from the start. The show quickly proves itself to have been much more than a "spin-off."

Fun fifties! 5 out of 5 stars.

It's a fun trip back into the fifties with the craziness of Laverne and shirley. One of my favorites!

We Love Laverne And Shirley! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Laverne and Shirley takes me back in time - I watched this show when I was little. It has a nostalgic feel for me in two ways - that I watched it when I was young, and also the 50's nostalgic feel to this show. A simpler happy time. My daughter loves this show. We've been waiting for it to come back on tv but no, so I went and bought the first three seasons for us to watch.

Much better after all these years... 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I was never a huge fan of Laverne & Shirley when I was younger, but my wife said that she wanted me to get the DVD for her. I must say that the show is much better than I remember it being. I guess that so much of the TV programming now is weak that the classics just keep looking better and better.

Editorial Review:

Set in the 1950s, this half-hour situation comedy revolved around the friendship between bright-eyed, naive and demure Shirley Feeney and brassy, tough-talking, street smart Laverne De Fazio. Two bottle cappers for Shotz Brewery, the duo dated an array of questionable men, tolerated their dippy, loony neighbors Lenny and Squiggy, and forever pursued to "make all their dreams come true."

La Femme Nikita 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

If you have never watched "La Femme Nikita" and are starting out now, then I envy you the thrill of the first time. During its entire run, this was the best show on the USA network. This series expands on and outdoes the two different movie versions that preceded it.

Nikita is the ultimate rebel. Accused of a murder she didn't commit, she is spirited away by the secretive shadow agency, Section One. There she has a choice: become an operative or die. Considering there are five seasons, I guess we know which she opted for. Peta Wilson is totally hot and brainy as Nikita, and in the cold, emotionless Section, she never loses her humanity. Could older woman Madeline, as Section's No.2, be possibly even hotter than Nikita? Ice queen Madeline is so cool, so lethal, that any episode about her is by default among my favorites. Whether she goes head to head with a psychopath or efficiently dispatches a recalcitrant operative, she rocks big time.

This show has style and the music is tops: Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Massive Attack, etc. Over the five seasons, all the characters develop in ways that you would never expect and yet still ring true. Two overriding conflicts are present in this series: Nikita's relationship with operative Michael, and Michael/Nikita vs Operations/Madeline. Within those narratives, there are tons of unexpected twists and turns. I never wanted this series to end!

Editorial Review:

Section One a clandestine anti-terrorist organization fakes the death of a jailed convicted murderer and believing her twin assets of beauty and ability to kill will make her a valuable new operative trains her in the fighting skills necessary to succeed in her new job. The new operative code-named 'Josephine' proves to be somewhat less ruthless than planned however as she had been falsely convicted and never murdered anyone.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: TELEVISION/SERIES & SEQUELS Rating: NR UPC: 012569813854 Manufacturer No: 81385

Lexx Season 1: The Original 4 Movies 5 out of 5 stars.
14 of 16 people found this review helpful.

This is not a TV season, but the 4 movies before it became a TV series. Season 2 is the first TV show season.

For fans of the show, this is a must get. It goes over the origin of the Lexx and all it's crew. These 4 movies were not available in the US on DVD until now. They were on VHS here, and Canada has had them on DVD and it is region 1 so you could have found a way to get them.

Lexx is my favorite sci-fi series as it does not follow the formula of sci-fi shows before it (or since for that matter). You can easily get invested in these characters and their adventures.

The Four episodes/movies:

1. I Worship His Shadow Lexx Series One "1.0: I Worship His Shadow" - Things get started and you get a good idea of the characters and how things don't go the way you as a viewer expect them to go.

2. Supernova Lexx Series One (Episode 2.0 - "Super Nova") - They find a planet inhabited by Tim Curry, oddness ensues.

3. Eating Pattern Lexx Series One - Episode Three of Four - 3.0 : Eating Pattern - Did I mention this was an odd series? Rutger Hauer is in this installment where the Lexx has to land because it, the ship, is hungry.

4. Giga Shadow Lexx Series One - 4.0 : Giga Shadow - Malcolm McDowell is in this final movie/episode of season 1 where the fate of the two galaxies is in danger.

Again, this is a must for fans. If you want a different sort of sci-fi, then this series is worth giving an honest chance. The production and pace gets better in the TV seasons, but this is a good start for newbies so that they can get the background on these characters, even if it is not the best example of the series.

Editorial Review:

The Complete First Season of the Groundbreaking Original Sci-Fi Series.
Hailed as "the most imaginative Sci-Fi since The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (New York Daily News), Lexx follows the nomadic existence of four misfit characters who have inadvertently stolen the most powerful weapon of destruction ever made: a Manhattan-sized, genetically-modified insect-ship. In its debut season, the Lexx's quirky crew--former security guard, Captain Stanley Tweedle; the luscious love slave Zev; the dead-but-deadly assassin Kai; and the robot head 790--comes together in four, full-length features: I Worship His Shadow, Super Nova, Eating Pattern, and Giga Shadow.

this is how was the best show on television
I mean this show started all the "24", the Alias and all other cia shows that now you see on tv
This was a show you can loose yourself. It was a dark, drama, sensual and some
excellenta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Satisifying Conclusion 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

For any La Femme Fan (or operative), this is what you should have to complete your collection. It has what you crave (beauty, brains, strength, mystery). It also has answers! I gave it 4 stars because 2 of our favorites are not in all episodes (Madeline and Michael). The final episodes are missing some chemistry from earlier seasons. Without giving away the end, the series wraps everything up, but still leaves some open ends for fans to hope for a movie-of-the-week at some point!

This was my best T.V show ever. I mean only a person with no sense of humor wouldnt like it. I mean, what's not to like, it has profanity with humor, something you'll never see on regular T.V. All the actors had their own unique personality even the little girl which reminds me of mine. Geesh, I was sooo mad and sad that it didn't go for a second season, I mean what do I have to do to get HBO to put it on back. Sundays was the light of my weekend just looking forward to this show. It mest up my weekend when it was gone, nothing to rush home to no more. Buuuhuuu, HBO sucks for this. After two years , I'm still mad about it.

La Femme Nikita Season 1 And Season 2 Boxset Errors!!! 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 11 people found this review helpful.

I am a huge fan of La Femme Nikita and when I purchased Season One boxset off Ebay I was so thrilled and couldn't wait to watch it. But I noticed that all the special features that were advertised are not on the discs, maybe one or two deleted scenes but that's it. What happened to the "Making Of La Femme Nikita and interviews with cast and creators. On Disc One it says to check out discs 2,3 and 6 for more special features and there aren't any!!!

Then I purchased Season Two and the same thing there, only two or three deleted scenes and that's it!!! And also on Disc 5 Episode 18 which is called "Off Profile" is actually episode 21 which is "Adrian's Garden". Then on Disc 6 I looked at episode 21 called "Adrian's Garden" and thought that maybe that would be "Off Profile" and it was once again the same Episode "Adrian's Garden". So I have the same episode twice and I am missing one Episode. I have a funny feeling that these discs are not the originals and I am hoping to get a refund. If it doesn't happen I will report this seller to Ebay for selling Bootleg Copies.

Could someone write and say whether they have noticed the same thing on their Season 1 and Season 2 as well. Would really like to know what's going on here.
