Crazy about this 5 out of 5 stars.

What can I say I love that I own this season of Law & Order. Whenever I need my Law & Order fix its at my finger tips and the quality of the DVDs are perfect. I travel all the time (by train) and take my portable DVD player and am so hooked that I could easily miss my stop. I have two of the cutest dogs Mona and Fluffy and when the theme music comes on they just sit there and stare at the TV. Although I think Mona panics when she hears Stabler yell. I will be purchasing other seasons very soon. I have friends and family that are buying these sets too now that they have seen mine.

Too bad it is the last 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Season 5 of Las Vegas starts out slow, but by the end it is as fun and exciting as the first 4. It is too bad it is the last sean because it ends with a lot of cliff hangers. They should make a movie or something to conclude the series. If you like Las Vegas you will enjoy this season.

Las Vegas Season 5 5 out of 5 stars.

Season five of Las Vegas was a great continuation of an excellent series even with the loss of James Caan. I beleive that Tom Selleck was a good replacement. Pity it got the axe. Hoping they make a movie to finish the story of where season five left off. Once again thanks for the prompt delivery.

Fabulous! How much more wholesome can you get in today's world?!? I bought my 8 year old daughter the first season last year after she became hooked on the book series. Having never seen the TV show, I thought she'd like to see what the characters looked like. She loved it so much her brother bought her season 2 for Christmas.

Lone Ranger 75th Anniversary set is worth every penny 4 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I just received this set this evening and have spent some time going through it. I did not observe any 11-13 minute episodes that have been mentioned in other reviews, the ones I checked appeared to be full-length. There are quite a few 22-23 minute episodes, but there do not appear to be any significant edits to the best of my knowledge. There is some time compression but nothing that I found to be too distracting from what I've observed so far, and I've barely noticed any jumpiness in the picture or any warbling on the sound that sometimes accompanies severe time compression on other releases and TV broadcasts. In fact the episodes look better than any syndicated TV print I've seen. And of course the 25 minute shows look amazing.

The sections immediately following the main title intro that used to say "Return with us now to the thrilling days of yesteryear" do appear to be removed from the episodes I glanced at. There is also a weird insertion of a close-up of the Lone Ranger sitting still on his horse inserted at the point in the main title intro when he's charging up the hill on his horse and the narrator says "...and a hearty hi-yo Silver", then it cuts back to the standard shot of him rearing up on Silver. I don't ever remember that shot being inserted in syndication, I always recall that it was a continuous shot of him riding up the hill and rearing up. It appears in all of the episodes I glanced at. No biggie, but it still struck me as odd.

Only other quibbles I have are that there don't appear to be chapter stops inserted, and the time counter for the episodes continue to accrue; they don't start at 00:00:00 at the beginning of each episode but instead have one continuous running time from the beginning of the first episode to the end of the last episode on the disc. Makes it difficult to figure out each show's running time.

The extras included in this set are plentiful and nicely crafted. The commemorative book in particular has a lot of material to go through. There is a bonus disc featuring some LR cartoons, a Lassie episode with the LR and some radio shows, a Season 1 and 2 episode guide, a 'signed' photo, a vintage comic book reproduction, a vintage ID card, Victory Corps membership kit, Lone Ranger Safety Club postcard, and trading cards.

I was on the fence about this set for the last several days but several reviews here and at the Home Theater Forum (along with the great job Classic Media did on the Sergeant Preston sets I own) convinced me to take the plunge and I'm glad I did. It is a blast seeing these episodes again and reliving some fond memories from my childhood in the process. I hope we get more seasons released from Classic Media, perhaps one next year for the 60th anniversary of the TV show.

Definitely recommended to any Lone Ranger fan! You get a lot of great material for the price.

Editorial Review:

Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear...when with one jaunty call, "Hi-Yo, Silver!" the Lone Ranger solidified his role as America's favorite hero of the Wild West. Mounted atop a white stallion, he remains a steadfast symbol for truth and justice, capturing the hearts and imaginations of generations of fans. Celebrate the Lone Ranger's 75th anniversary with this 13-disc collector's edition DVD, featuring seasons 1 & 2 of the original TV series.

Editorial Review:

"You're one of us now," Nikita is told. But has she truly abandoned her compassionate nature and become an unquestioning member of the soulless covert organization called Section One? Or has she mastered the group's knack for deceit and cover-up so efficiently that she can beat Section at its own game? The sleek, chic and powerful adventures of the agent codenamed Josephine continue in Season Three of the intrigue-filled five-year series that stars Peta Wilson in the title role. Season three is marked by the unveiling of Michael's secret life, Nikita and Michael's romantic relationship and the further suspicion about the true nature of Section One.

Gave Up Quickly 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Gave up after 5 episodes. Peta is attractive but too quirky in this role. I also can't stand Roy Dupuis (Micheal), the pretty boy trying to play tough guy. "The Operator's" talking with half a mouth aka Gretta Van Sustern is the final straw. Plots are boring and not up to the standards of other spy thriller shows.

Good Show, Bad DVD 3 out of 5 stars.

5 Stars For THe Show, 2 Stars For The DVD

The show is fantasic, my grip in the review are hte DVD's

I guess this is what happens when you compress the hell out of it...but theres lots of compression issues in these DVD sets. They look bad, if it wasn't for the fuzz on the television, the origional broadcasts looked better than this.

LE FEMME NIKITA SEASON 4 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the very best season on the show. So much happens. If I were to purchase only one season, this would have to be it.

High Marks for a Cult Favorite, Low Marks for a Not so Great S4 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I give LFN five 5, heck 10, stars out pure devotion and love for this show and the characters that I've been enamored with since I was a kid.

But, people, that doesn't mean it automatically gets 5 stars in everything else.

Season 4 was disjointed and at times, boring and unexciting, with mediocre writing and plotting, that really began at the end of Season 3. While the acting was still stellar, perhaps the best by the supporting actors who were the focus rather than Nikita, there was little cohesiveness or unity between episodes, which LFN had always managed to do well. That is, bringing cogency that layered and developed into other episodes and linked them very well without overdoing it or over complicating it.

While there were some interesting, albeit lackluster, episodes that focus more on the bad guys and action sequences, with a dull and underdeveloped secret revelation about Nikita's double cross, it just lost that spark. Madeline is unceremoniously killed off, George too, Birkhoff is sacrificed then resurrected as his twin (though well done by the actor), and Operations sedately capitulates. In other words, it's black hole chaos and everyone just dies or says, 'ok, sure'. The last episode, which I personally disliked and found senseless, has Nikita as judge, jury and executioner, with the lame and uninspired side story of Mr. Jones presiding. Talk about neat and tidy. It's Nikita's time of retribution where she gets to decide the fate of Section and its people: riiiiiiight...sure. Thus, dewy doe eyed, she sentences Michael for cancellation only to save him at the end. And then tells him that she never loved him and she was, uh, just doing her job. What??? To which he responds by forgoing her confusing attempt at saving him and walks off. Huh???

A little disappointing for a show that maintained such ingenuity, drive, creativity and cleverness done with class, great dialogue and character development that kicked butt. Only to die off (for a time) so...with such a small bang, and bags of disappointment. And it's obvious that the producers knew they that they were getting the ax mid-season and began hodgepodging it together. There's the good, the bad and the ugly for all to see, it's hard to say what stood out more...The canceled scenes and commentaries are interesting and explain a few things, and avoids some too. The gag reel, while amusing, really didn't show anything. The great look of the show is still there and the only comforting element, as confusing, unsatisfactory, disconnected plotting abounded.

La Femme Nikita Season 1 And Season 2 Boxset Errors!!! 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 11 people found this review helpful.

I am a huge fan of La Femme Nikita and when I purchased Season One boxset off Ebay I was so thrilled and couldn't wait to watch it. But I noticed that all the special features that were advertised are not on the discs, maybe one or two deleted scenes but that's it. What happened to the "Making Of La Femme Nikita and interviews with cast and creators. On Disc One it says to check out discs 2,3 and 6 for more special features and there aren't any!!!

Then I purchased Season Two and the same thing there, only two or three deleted scenes and that's it!!! And also on Disc 5 Episode 18 which is called "Off Profile" is actually episode 21 which is "Adrian's Garden". Then on Disc 6 I looked at episode 21 called "Adrian's Garden" and thought that maybe that would be "Off Profile" and it was once again the same Episode "Adrian's Garden". So I have the same episode twice and I am missing one Episode. I have a funny feeling that these discs are not the originals and I am hoping to get a refund. If it doesn't happen I will report this seller to Ebay for selling Bootleg Copies.

Could someone write and say whether they have noticed the same thing on their Season 1 and Season 2 as well. Would really like to know what's going on here.
