This is the best television program ever created. Season one is packed with extras too. This buy is a no brainer for anyone who liked this series back in the day. Don't bother paying the mortgage this month, just buy this...

Knight Rider is still a classic after all these years! 5 out of 5 stars.

I recently puchased Knight Rider Season 1 and was amazed at the quality of the show. The storyline of "One Man Making a Difference" was an excellent concept. Knight Rider showed a man named Michael Knight who was sent on James Bond-style missions to protect the less fortunate and uphold the law. His car is a 1984 talking Trans-Am with its own personality. Their bond and kinship is very real and can be felt by the audience. This was a very well done season to establish the characters and their identities. If you want to see one of the best shows of the 1980's, then I highly recommend this DVD box set.

The TV show was great, in fact I'm a bit angry that it didn't get off the ground. Seller was phenomenal, shipped out a few days earlier than anticipated. Cant go wrong with this one!

Slick but no bite... 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Presumably only four episodes of this series were actually aired on US Television, and watching these it very quickly becomes apparent why: it has the chique of 'Sex & the City' but none of the bite and hard-hitting wisecracking of Anthony Bourdain's original book, a major let-down for a comedy drama about a gang of professional, thuggish chefs. The dialogue is slightly skewed to please the family viewer, the kitchen and restaurant are lush, while the storylines not always fit this squeaky clean atmosphere. Nonetheless, the acting is great, some of the jokes actually work and for an evening in watching non-demanding, softcore comedy this set is not your worst choice.

Editorial Review:

Jack Bourdain had it all but messed it up going wild. Four years later, he ends up with a crappy job in Pizza Chain. Then, he gets an offer to get back in the game as the chef of a famous restaurant.

PLEASE READ FOR FANS OF THIS SHOW!!! 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

A couple of nights ago the Home Theater Forum presented Warner Brothers Home Video (T.V. and Animation divisions only) for a chat. During the forum, Warner Brothers FINALLY said they are giving KNOTS LANDING another chance by releasing SEASON 2 sometime in 2009. Therefore, in order for this series to have continued success, We, the fans and any other curious viewers, new viewers, etc... need to show support to buy this series. ESPECIALLY THE FIRST WEEK OF IT'S RELEASE!!! THE FIRST WEEK SALES WILL DETERMINE CONTINUED DVD SEASON SETS OF KNOTS LANDING.....

Very much like a new movie, when it's released in theaters, the first week opening sales determines if a movie should/could have a sequel. (think in terms of the recent "Dark Knight" movie with Heath Ledger) which was a box office hit the first week (and beyond) when it was in theaters this summer. The movie is also coming out with a sequel within the next 2-3 years because of this success.

Therefore if you apply those terms to the first week sales of the DVD release of Knots Landing's 2nd season, it will have continued success, like it's sister show DALLAS. Please, I know the economy has not been the greatest (and it seems to be getting worse) and soon most of us will only be able to watch t.v. at home anyway (instead of going to the movies), please save your money and support this wonderful show. PLEASE BUY THIS THE 2ND SEASON THE FIRST WEEK OF IT'S RELEASE!!! If all is successful, Warner Brothers will continue to produce the remaining seasons of this show as well as another show....FALCON CREST.....that's right, all you FALCON CREST fans out there, according to Warner Brothers chat the other night, sales of KNOTS LANDING will also help determine releasing not only more KNOTS LANDING, but FALCON CREST as well. So FALCON CREST fans.....listen up....check out Knots Landing Season 1 (now) & Season 2 (in 2009)!!! Your show will be next up to bat if you do this.

I hope this helps the fans of both shows understand how important buying your favorite show the first week its release helps determine whether or not the studios will continue releasing a series (and other series). JUST A REMINDER: click on the Amazon's wish list reminder link to let you know when KNOTS LANDING SEASON 2 is released (it's definitely coming in 2009!!). Then when Warner makes the annoucement for the release, Amazon will let you know via email and then you can preorder your copy!! Thanks for reading!!!

Editorial Review:

The second longest running drama in TV history and cultural phenomenon that defined nighttime drama is finally coming to DVD! Dubbed "The Original Desperate Housewives" (William Heck, USAToday), Knots Landing depicts the lives and loves of five suburban families, who live in this always interesting upper-middle class southern California cul-de-sac.

Groundbreaking sketch comedy... 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

Nominated for 3 Emmys and 18 Gemini Awards, including five straight for Best Comedy Series, The Kids In The Hall is a legendary sketch comedy troupe whose hilarious skits have achieved cult icon status among comedy aficionados. Named after famed comedian Jack Benny's penchant for beginning a joke by saying, "I got this from the kids in the hall" (a line referring to amateur comedians outside his office), The Kids In The Hall formed in Canada in 1984. However, the group parted for a short time when members Bruce McCulloch and Mark McKinney were hired as writers for the NBC show Saturday Night Live. When the group reunited, SNL producer Lorne Michaels attended a Kids In The Hall performance and loved what he saw. He had an instant vision of the group in its own sketch comedy series, and in 1988, The Kids In The Hall premiered on HBO...

The Kids In The Hall took full bloom in the late-1980s/early-1990s when the success of Saturday Night Live made sketch comedy a hot commodity. In this atmosphere, new series like In Living Color, MADtv, and The Kids In The Hall, were ripe for breakout success. Sporting a small regular cast of five (with extensive experience working together), The Kids In The Hall quickly gained a loyal and devoted audience. Cast members Dave Foley (later of Newsradio), Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson, for the most part, wrote their own material and performed their own sketches, providing the show with edge in creativity in regard to its contemporaries. This synergy between cast members and writers earned three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Writing in a Variety or Music Program (whew! that's a long award title) and garnered The Kids In The Hall the credit and respect it deserves as one of the premiere sketch comedy shows in television history...

The Kids In The Hall (Season 2) DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere in which the cast perform a number of skits such as Spring, Comfortable, Trucker, Hard Day, and The Doctor... Other notable episodes from Season 2 include "#209" with such skits as Cops - Dream, Crushing Hospital, Daddy Drank, and The Leash, and "#218" with such skits as Clandstein Meeting, The Letter, Plungers, and Mr. Pin...

The DVD Report

Editorial Review:

Populating their realm with such uniquely bizarre creations as the Chicken Lady, Cabbage Head, and Mr. Heavyfoot, THE KIDS IN THE HALL took aim at everything from corporate culture to drug culture and sexism to suburban angst, crafting one of sketch comed

Still Great ! 5 out of 5 stars.

Okay I know the original music is missing but I insist to friends to watch my DVD set and when they do I have to beg to get it back and they didn't hear the original. That means 5 Stars folks !

Very Disappointing 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The series was great to watch... when it could be found. FOX shuffled it around to different time slots and after a few episodes started to play them out of order.

This box set has the episodes out of order as well. While the main part of the individual episodes are contained to the story, continuing story lines (like that with his roommate / the final shot of the city map) don't make sense at all. Add to that the fact that the original music has been stripped (which were greatly matched 80's tunes) and you end up with a bad taste in your mouth.

For anyone who like the original series... DON'T BUY!

If you have never seen the show before, have money to waste and are bored, you will find it entertaining, yet confusing at times.

If it is re-released in order, WITH the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK... I will buy it in a heartbeat!

Knight Rider Season 2 is excellent! 5 out of 5 stars.

I just recently purchased Knight Rider Season 2 and could not stop watching the episodes. This is a very fun and entertaining season as we see Michael Knight and his talking carr K.I.T.T. continue to travel from town to town, protecting innocent people from crime. It is fun to see David Hasselhoff portray dual roles when Michael Knight battles an arch-nemesis. Very recommended, especially if you have already watched the First Season DVD box set!

Amazon sucks 1 out of 5 stars.

The kids in hall dvd was fine.....once I got it AFTER Christmas because Amazon said my payment was unauthorized five days AFTER I made the order. I tried so hard to speak with a person at Amazon, and it was impossible. I contacted my bank and they said they have no idea why Amazon would claim this. So I had to give the same bank information to Amazon again and surprisingly that time they got it right and sent the dvd with no apology and my wife didn't get her present in time. I will never buy anything from Amazon again because if I got the wrong item or it was damaged I don't think I would ever be able to reach someone to fix the problem.

Transforming The American Landscape One Person At A Time 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

`Kung Fu - The Complete Second Season' continues the odyssey of Kwai Chang Caine on his sojourns across the American west in search of the half-brother he has never met. His search is continually complicated by a myriad of hired assassins sent by the Chinese Emperor to kill him for the accidental death of his nephew along with the constant racial prejudice he must encounter at every new town he enters. Tough circumstances even for a martial arts priest to overcome.

If you're open to Buddhist philosophy or just open in general I encourage you to give it a try and join the wandering, flute playing monk on the road less traveled. This series not only entertains, it teaches.

Editorial Review:

He is a man of peace in a violent land. He is Kwai Chang Caine, schooled in the spirit-mind-body wasy of the Shaolin priesthood by the blind avuncular Master Po and the stern , yet loving Master Kan. He is the Old West's most unusual hero. Season 2 guest stars include Harrison Ford, Don Johnson, Slim Pickens, Gilbert Roland, Tina Louise, John Carradine, Benson Fong and More!

A Classic 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The first season was good, the second was great, and the third and final season made the show a legend.

If you start at the beginning of this season, and I know you will, you'll be disappointed for a few episodes. They had to get their groove back or something. And then, with no gradual transition whatsoever, the writing will leap into the stratosphere and remind you why you love this show. It is simply awesome, and it isn't dated.

One thing they did at the start of this season was try to raise the level of menace on the martial arts, but it was already there.

At times, the verbal sparring was even better than the kung fu, and you know how great that was.

I've written before that you should use superlatives sparingly, and one memorable essay mentioned car horns in China. I could have instead mentioned Kwai Chang Caine's gold silks. When he puts those on, it's clobberin time!

In my review of the second season, I realized that I'd never seen Caine eat with chopsticks. And just to remain so petty, he does it here, and he eats just fine. Hey, I lived in China for 6 years. I notice these things.

When I ordered these DVDs, I envisioned using them in my class, encouraging my students to point out the inaccuracies because they'd be hyper-motivated to do so. In English, which is what I was teaching. But the timing was a little off, as I quit teaching that class a few weeks before I got these DVDs.

Oh well. Looking over it myself, the inaccuracies are minor. Master Kan should in fact be called Master Chen, for example. But the big details, which are why we love this show and why it's timeless, are absolutely spot on. KUNG FU remains a rare classic that, to the best of my knowledge, American TV hasn't equaled and probably never will.

KITH - Out with a Bang! 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The fifth and final season of Kids in the Hall actually seems to thrive and throb on the artistic differences amongst the kids. There is a palpable creative tension between Bruce McCulloch, Scott Thompson, and David Foley, as if a behind-the-scenes power struggle rages (I guess it actually did rage), and Kevin and Mark come off as the comic glue holding the whole operation together. Scott Thompson's queer sensibility bleeds through more often than not, pushing the homophobic buttons right and left. This tension and the "gayness" tends to put some people off, but then KITH were always an acquired taste. The final season begets an even more thoroughly warped worldview than the previous four, and repulsive characters, such as McKinney's "Chicken Lady" get full-frontal exploration. There is a vibe that time is running out, so why-not-go-for-it, and KITH does, in a big way! If you're a fan, then this review is unnecessary -- you already own this. If you are not a fan, I wouldn't recommend that you start here, but hope that you'll get here on your own.
