NBC sucks worse than the Cincinnati Bengals! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

One of my favorites as I think Joey is the funniest TV show since the Friends. Being the true "Friends" fan I was really satisfied with sitcom "Joey." But I can't believe it's not on anymore. The only reason it got low ratings and canceled is that the show was moved from original timeslot by NBC to the new timeslot against the American Idol. American Idol! Can you believe that? American Idol, the stupid teenage show that has no fun. NBC killed off its own child with its own hands.

NBC sucks worse than the Cincinnati Bengals!

BTW, where is the second season? I'm still waiting to buy.

Editorial Review:

The still-single Friend strikes out on his own as Emmy nominee Matt LeBlanc reprises his "Friends" role as charming Joey Tribbiani in this spin-off that continues the beloved "Friends" tradition. Joey leaves New York for Hollywood in order to take his acting career to the next level. He also says goodbye to a time when his friends were his family and welcomes the chance to turn his family into his friends. After reuniting with his high-strung sister Gina (Drea de Matteo, "The Sopranos"), Joey moves in with Michael (Paulo Costanzo, "Road Trip"), his 20-year-old genius nephew, who unbelievably is literally a rocket scientist. However, what Joey lacks in book smarts he makes up for with people smarts - making him the best new friend his nephew could ask for.

Before MTV 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I bought this DVD after months of debating. I love Jefferson Airplane, and saw them live as often as I could in the '60's & early '70's before they crashed and burned. I knew in advance I was in for some corny, trippy television. But at least the music would be good. Fly Jefferson Airplane delivers some classic moments - Grace in black face doing the black power salute on the Smothers Brothers, the infamous NYC rooftop performance when House at Pooneil Corners shut down the streets of Manhattan and NYPD broke up the party, running up and down hills in the park to Martha. This was how rock music was delivered in the days before MTV and music videos, when we were glued to mainstream television broadcasts to see our heroes and heroines in our living rooms. If you love the band, want a sense of history, gather some snippets of insight from the members, buy this DVD.

A GREAT Device To Help To Try To Remember The 60s 5 out of 5 stars.

You know what they say, if you grew up in the 60's and remember that time, you're lying, you weren't there. I just got a brain cell to kick in! I recall playing White Rabbit on a juke box and an old guy saying, "what's wrong with that woman?" I THINK I SAID, "Folks like you".

Seriously, buy the DVD and try to capture your youth.

Following the tried and true "Candid Camera" model, JKX is an excellent if uynderated show. Hosted by Jamie Kennedy (Malibu's Most Wanted), JKX is Laugh out loud hilarious! In this third and final season jaimie takes his show on the road going to cities like Chicago, New York City, Miami, and many more. What's great about this season is that the sketches are specific to the city that the show is in i.e. The sketches are shot using marks from that city. My personal favorite was shot in NYC and has Jamie squeezing 20 or so people into the worlds smallest apartment. You have to see it for your self!

IF YOU LOVE LAUGHING...YOU NEED THIS DVD!!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

The JKX has got to be one of the funniest hidden camera dvds available!!! Once you've watched it once, you'll be hooked...It's unlike MTV's PUNK'D only because Jamie Kennedy is genius enough to participate in all of his skits himself disguised as different personalities, anything from a yoga instructor, to a wise-crack judge, to a wine entrepeneur who's just had jaw surgery and still drinks wine with his mouth wired open!!! Guaranteed to have you laughing and coming back for more....A must-have for anyone with a sense of humor!!!!

What a waste of time 1 out of 5 stars.

This has got to be one of the worst shows of it's kind ever produced. How did this guy ever manage to get financing for this show? It looks like he had plenty of money to finiance the show, but the thing was, in the end, the pay offs where pethetic.

That sketch he does whjere he's a fat women with a talk show.. whats funny about it? He pretends to be a women, fools the audience, says something stupid then takes the mask off... if the joke is finding out shes a he, then hardy har har (sarcastic laugh) but it would be funny to actualy do a prank, or somethi kind of joke in there, not do something for real then all of a sudden reveal it's him.

This guy has no talent, the only people whod find him funny are people whod go to a chritstian fellowship meeting.

Simply Awesome! 5 out of 5 stars.

My husband bought me all three seasons of JKE for Valentines Day. We have been watching them non-stop since.

They are hilarious! It is amazing to see of the changes in charcter this guy can do.

For the busy person, its also about the pefect amount of time to watch one or two episodes and then go on with your busy evening. They about about 20 minutes long each, so unlike a movie, you are not obligated to feel like you need to watch the full thing in one sitting. Of course, they are so good we frequently stay in front of the TV more than we should! ;-)

For those of you doing the $15 rebate request (which amazon users can do too!), watch out.. the proof of purchase which is supposedly "just inside the CD case" is no where to be found. And there is no number to call and ask about it. I searched every nook and cranny. The bar code on the outside of the box is all I can figure out that might be it. And surely they dont want you to cut apart the CD box?

Anyway, even with out the discount, this is for sure worth buying! Enjoy!

Editorial Review:

THE JAMIE KENNEDY EXPERIMENT - THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON unleashes dozens of new characters that catch unsuspecting people in the most embarrassing moments of their lives. Hidden cameras combined with a unique degree of comedy work together to see how ordinary people act in unusual situations. Among many roles, Kennedy plays a palm reader who convinces a young man to go to a bar to meet the woman of his dreams, and a government agent looking for a few good men who are willing to serve their country - by turning into women.

"Oh, Rochester!" 4 out of 5 stars.

MILL CREEK ENTERTAINMENT's JACK BENNY: LAUGH OUT LOUD is a repackaging of the first two DVDs from last year's quadrapack, BEST OF JACK BENNY. This manufacturer consistently offers good-to-average-quality audio and video transfers of public domain material at a most reasonable price.

The Jack Benny Program aired on radio from 1932 to '55. Many of that show's scripts were recycled for television, beginning in 1950. Benny's CBS-TV series ran until 1965. The core cast (on radio and TV) changed little over the decades: Dennis Day replaced tenor Kenny Baker early on; Bob Crosby (Bing's younger brother) took over for bandleader Phil Harris in 1952.

At one time or another, almost every Hollywood, radio and TV star guested on Jack's show. This 2-disc set offers only a fraction of Benny's 258 television episodes, yet the viewer is provided an excellent illustration of his popularity within the "Showbiz" community.

Program list includes episode numbers, airdates and guests (where available):

Editorial Review:

Star of Vaudeville, Radio and the Big Screen, Jack Benny brought his highly-successful radio program to the small screen in 1950 and the show ran until 1965. Along for the ride were his famous cast of co-stars including Eddie Rochester Anderson, Don Wilson, Dennis Day and Mary Livingstone, who all shared in the fun and misadventures of their famous boss. Whether dealing with his love of money, his perpetual age of 39 or his beloved Maxwell automobile, Jack Benny and his gang entertained one and all!

the clown king and violin virtuoso strikes again! 5 out of 5 stars.
19 of 19 people found this review helpful.

For those of you unfamiliar with Jack Benny, one of the late, great kings of comedy at his best, I reccomend these episodes as your introduction to his style of humor. For starters, Benny was one of the masters of the pregnant pause. He could arouse eruptions of laughter without saying a word. All he had to do was look off to the side, at the unseen person, during an outrageous situation and one glance said a thousand words! What's more, the running gag on all of his episodes was that the very frugal (to be diplomatic) Jack Benny was one of the greatest living violinists--if only in his mind. This talent was showcased in many ways on the program (or, in as many ways that were possible!). Whether he was playing duets with Liberace or serenading his audience in between interludes on the program, the squaks and out-of-key little songs that he produced from his instrument became an expected edition to his broad and tight-lipped style of comedy. (In reality, Benny was a brilliant, classically trained musician who was anything but cheap. Talk about playing against character!)

The episodes on this tape feature a brilliant dance number with Jack Benny, George Burns and Bob Hope, dancing in a tribute to the broad comedy/music routines of Vaudeville, Dale Whitney and friends and the Beach Boys. We also are introduced to Jack Benny's butler, "Rochester" (Eddie "Rochester"--a great comedian). In later years, this depiction of the devoted African-American manservant was viewed as a very racist and stereotypical representation of the relationship between Caucasians and African-Americans in the 1940s and 1950s. Yet, in my eyes, Rochester (oftentimes) stole the show because he really didn't take any guff from Jack Benny or anyone else. I think that you will really enjoy this program. Though, the humor might seem dated to younger people, it's worth a look and it grows on you, over time.

This is a wonderful video! I especially love the "The Beverly Hillbillies" (long before the one with Jed Clampet) episode. Mr Benny really could play that violin and fiddle! loved it.

LSMFT = Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco! 4 out of 5 stars.

Yes it does! One of the small pleasures of watching old-time television shows is seeing the commercials and the products we have come to know in American culture. Unlike the first two DVDs in this series, the commercials have been left in in their entirety for these episodes. It is amazing to think of how these were marketed to us, but I digress.

The Jack Benny Show Vol 3 contains another four episodes and runs just under two hours. The back of the DVD is incorrect as Episode One is actually Episode Four on the DVD and the other Episodes are moved up one number (This critique takes that into account). While there are no "Bonus" features per se on this DVD there are two options. One is for previews and the other is for a catalogue of movies available on DVD from Alpha Video. The previews are horid! Can I make it any more blunt than that? They do not have any remoteness at all to the demographic that would watch this DVD. The Catalogue, on the other hand, is pretty good. It is simply pictures of DVD covers. I stopped about 60 DVDs in and most would be of interest to old-time TV/Movie/Radio fans.

Episode One: Johnnie Ray is to guest star on Jack's program until Jack sees he wants $10,000 to appear! Jack goes and sees Johnnie with a "revised" contract and Johnnie sings a song. A really good show.

Episode Two: A CLASSIC! Jack has a jam session at his house with fellow musicians, such as Kirk Douglas, Dick Powell, and Fred MacMurray. They're all hungry and choose different things to eat from the vending machines in Jack's house.

Episode Three: A classic radio bit from 2/6/49 with Vincent Price and Irene Dunne. On the radio show Ms Dunne's part was played by Claudette Colbert. Jack invites himself to audition against Price for a part Price already has in the Mercury Theatre. Another great episode.

Episode Four: New Year's Day 1956. Jack begins a monologue and then invites the two head coaches of the competing Rose Bowl teams, Michigan and UCLA, to join him in a chat. Then Jack reprises the role of "The Old Tenant - or goodbye '55 hello '56" Not one of my favorite sketches, probably because they are more emotional and serious then they are funny.

Where is my Violin? 4 out of 5 stars.

In my opinion, Volume Two is a much better DVD than Volume One. Again, the DVD has a limited amount of episodes, only four. But the quality of these episodes is much greater.

Episode One is a re-enactment of a Jack Benny radio show from 1953. The transition between the TV and radio program falls very nicely. Episode Two is a classic with Humphrey Bogart playing "babyface" Bogart, a crook and is being questioned by who else? Captain O'Benny. Episode Three is a celebration of Don Wilson's 27th anniversary working for Jack. I wonder if he will ever get paid? And, Episode Four includes a performance by Liberace. Not the most comedic episode and probably my least favorite of the group but the other three make up for this.

Love Jack Benny, but.... 4 out of 5 stars.

This DVD is great if you are a Jack Benny fan, which my husband and I are. The problem is, when I purchased it for my husband, it said on Amazon that it had CC, something my husband needs because of his hearing disability. When we went to play it, it was very disappointing for him that there was no CC on it. Since, I'm assuming only older generations are going to be Jack Benny fans, you would think that CC would always be included on this type of DVD.
