I discovered those episodes back in the 90s and enjoyed them all. Didnt have the chance to watch them chronologically, and was more than happy to get this complete set soI could finally watch them chronologically. very nice family stories, with small lessons we could learn from as well.

Buyer Beware 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The first 7 seasons of "Frazier" are, truly, among the best television entertainment ever. But Season 8 is where the cracks in the series' artifice begin to form.

To be fair, there are a couple of standout episodes: Derek Jacobi as hammy Shakespearean actor, "Jackson Hedley," and Illeanna Douglas as station manager Kenny's wife, appear in installments that are worthy of earlier seasons. And, the scene where Roz breaks up with her French-only-speaking boyfriend, using Frasier to translate for her, is eye-watering hilarious.

But for the most part, the main actors sleepwalk through their roles, and the writing stretches their character development beyond recognition.

For example: The scene where Roz, Martin, Daphne and Niles sit in the living-room area, and each character agrees to confess to something about his or her life that no one else yet knows. Before her turn, Roz states that she's not sure if any of the others can handle what she has to say. Martin counters by bragging that, as a former cop, Roz couldn't possibly say anything that would surprise him. Roz whispers her secret into Martin's ear. His eyes widen, then his jaw falls with a look of disgust. He silently gets up and walks out of the room....Yup, you guessed it, that's considered a joke in Season 8. But it's patronizing, and half-baked, and unfortunately, most of Season 8 is filled with scenes just like it.

At this point, the series lacks the brisk energy and skillful writing that made the first seven seasons sparkle. In other words, you receive 4 disks of episodes, but only half of them - at best - are worth watching.

Grudgingly, I give Season 8 the benefit of the doubt in terms of recommending it. But it took me well over a month before finally deciding to spend my hard-earned money on it.

Season 8 will definitely be the last "Frasier" I purchase. For certain, Seasons 9 - 11 are a waste of money.

Editorial Review:

Emmy® Award-winner Kelsey Grammer is Frasier – the hilarious psychiatrist first seen on TV’s Cheers and subsequently the star of this smash-hit comedy series. In Season 8, wedding bells chime a sour note when Daphne (Jane Leeves) flees her marriage ceremony to run off with Niles (David Hyde Pierce), and the two lovebirds – as well as a hapless Frasier – ultimately find themselves embroiled in a lawsuit as a result of the marital mayhem! Frasier also seeks the wisdom and advice of an old college professor, whom Frasier drafts as his "professional mentor." And new-puppy training quickly goes to the dogs when Roz (Peri Gilpin) brings home a new Dalmation and Martin (John Mahoney) takes command as the puppy’s official trainer. It’s 22 cupfuls of Seattle’s funniest most flavorful blend – FRASIER: THE COMPLETE EIGHTH SEASON!

This completes my collection of the Frasier series. It finishes with class intelligent writing, as the entire series was for 11 years. All good things must come to an end, but I'm glad that I have the entire series on hand to view again and again. Thank you Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde-Pierce for the best actor chemistry in years!

Editorial Review:

FRASIER – THE COMPLETE FINAL SEASON is set in Seattle and chronicles the lives of an eloquently pompous radio show host, Dr. Frasier Crane, Grammer), his competitive, high-brow brother Niles (Hyde Pierce), their crotchety father Martin (Mahoney) and Niles’ wife Daphne (Leeves), who used to be Martin’s home care nurse. The final season marks a few milestones, including a wedding, a birth and a long-awaited chance at true love.

CHEESE PUFFS anyone??? 2.2 stars. 2 out of 5 stars.

I've ALWAYS thought I'd have this self-loathing deep inside if I ever found myself to watch and enjoy this wretched show for 25 minutes more than 5 times. That day never came THANK F'IN GOD! I can't tell you enough how bad this show is. Sure, everyone and their momma's hot in it (besides the goofy-goof ball, Kimmy. She's a witch!) and John Stamos (as usual) just oozes all that sexiness. I would...Anyway, back the review.

If you don't remind me I'll always trail off into a world of bittersweet dreams filled with awesomely-charming Men such as John Stamos! b^_^;;

I actually like DJ (Deej) and I saw a decent episode just today; her and her painfully-attractive boyfriend were having relationship troubles (although I think it was ALL in her pretty little mind): He was going off to college to leave her fending on her own with only a few calls and visits every couple of months. Trust me when I say I totally appreciate and bought her pain; I would feel the same if I had a life partner (or a boyfriend) who decided he wanted to go out-of-state (or wherever it was he wanted to go to attend schooling) and leave me lonely. I'd be a flipping mess!

I don't think thing did work out in the end. He goes off and she just has to bite her lip and deal. The twins were cute but terrible, terrible actors. No one was outstanding although the adults in particular were decent David Coulier, funny.

This product was delivered in a timely fashion but had no cover box for the set. I was very disappointed about that. It will be hard to keep the set together without a box holder, I probably would not have bought it if that were disclosed. I hope the cds are o.k. themselves - it is for Christmas so we haven't played them yet. Sheri~

Commercials ad nauseam 2 out of 5 stars.
12 of 13 people found this review helpful.

I've always loved Frasier and the whole cast. Unfortunately, Paramount has seen it fit to add up to seven minutes of commercials at the beginning of the discs, not editable and without the recourse of being bypassed. If I wanted to watch that c... I would do that in the reruns. Shame on Paramount!

Fantastic Frasier 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The series was more than I expected. Each season was in its own boxed set and individually packaged. Every DVD was in perfect condition and a pleasure to watch. In Frasier's words, "Bravo".

SEASON 2 is NOT IN original packaging which ruins the set 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

It appears that the set is complete, except that SEASON 2 has a substituted volume that may or may not be a "sham." The set has seasons 1 through 11, as promised, but SEASON 2 has NO BOX and is what appears to be an "amateur" duplicate! IN NO WAY DOES IT MATCH THE SET AS AN ORIGINAL. THIS IS HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING and I AM SURPRISED SINCE THIS WAS ONE OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE SETS OFFERED AND WAS OFFERED BY AMAZON.COM!!!

Editorial Review:

Kelsey Grammer ("Cheers") stars as Dr. Frasier Crane, a successful Boston psychiatrist who moved to Seattle to get a fresh start on life. He has his own radio talk show which he uses to relay his wit and wisdom for others. At times, he struggles with his own neuroses from his family and friends, though often he does not take his own advice. This half-hour comedy showcases the humourous ways Frasier deals with life and how his family and friends follow suit.

Great Show, Ahead of its time 4 out of 5 stars.

This was a very good show that has been copied many times over the past few years. Although the special effects aren't always the greatest, the story will keep you coming back for more. A must have for any fan of the vampire genre.

Cast Changes Hurt the show 3 out of 5 stars.
2 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Forever Knight was good campy Saturday Early Evening (it came on at either 6:00 or 7:00pm)fun for the first two seasons. However, when the cast was changed (mentioned elsewhere) the look, feel, and overall flavor of the show diminished.I n many episodes, Nick was reduced to pimping the Vetter character because (whether due to writing, or poor acting) despite being the Commissioner's daughter, she simply was not a good cop. Case in point, in one episode, the villain is hiding behind the door, Vetter bursts in, but never looks to her right, thus enabling the killer to grab hold of her. In another episode, she goes undercover and gives her prostitution ring employer her actual home telephone number, knowing that a killer is targeting women at the agency. In yet another episode, when retelling how Nick comes to be shot, she twists the story to make it sound like she had these terrific instinct that they were in danger (she actually only pulled her gun in the deserted warehouse when she sees Nick pull his), she later returns to the warehouse based on a call from someone she does not know late at night without backup or letting anyone know what she was doing. Despite this, Nick spends half his time telling her and others what a good cop she is. As for the addition of Vachon, I suggest that if you do not wish to be forced into a coma, you fastforward all his scenes, as the actor walks through the role as if thought were beyond him (despite being a vampire, he is just as dim as Vetter, perhaps that's why they get along so well.)

Editorial Review:

Vampire police detective Nick Knight (Geraint Wyn Davies, TV's '24') is back for the third and final season of the thrilling horror series, FOREVER KNIGHT. Tortured by his immortality, Nick's hunger to recover his humanity is more powerful than his lust for blood. But will Nick ever get to see the light of day? Tracy Vetter (Lisa Ryder) joins the cast as Nick's new partner at the police department, and Davies' real-life son Galen plays Patrick the orphan in 'The Human Factor.' Third season highlights include Nick's possible connection to the mysterious murder of 'Blackwing,' the race to discover a cure for a deadly virus in 'Fever,' and Nick's enlisting of a confined madman to solve a brutal slaying in 'Trophy Girl.'
