"Ed, Edd, n Eddy" in my opinion was the greatest cartoon I have ever seen on Cartoon Network. A lot of concepts came from the contributions of "The Three Stooges," "Pink Panther" and great films and put those concepts in a more appropriate fashion. That was how I saw the cartoon.

I am not sure if the final season will air on Cartoon Network, but this could be the only show to have a special ten year anniversary after all of the years, cheers, and tears. I will never forget "Ed, Edd, n Eddy." Never. The first season was the best, but what will the last season hold when it gets released?

This week a good season finally although i personally did not want to see this show end. the only trouble is this was not in close caption which my mother is hard of hearing and i order the dvd for her too. i also like how the first show and last show are on the dvd together that was we can tell the differences in the characters over. the years.

More Sad, Than Funny. 3 out of 5 stars.

On the whole I agree with Mr. Harris' review. Patricia Heaton had an excellent send off episode. I thought the show peaked in the sixth season. However, A part of me still thinks that had the writers incorporated more episodes with both Debrah's and Amy's parents the funny fireworks could have gone on for another season. Both sets of parents were different enough from each other and from the Barones to create plenty of humor.

This last episode had far too much predictability. We all knew that an illness might occur to raise the anxiety level, and that something would go wrong in the hospital. How long could MARIE go without learning of it? If Debrah's parents had been in the hospital I am sure more laughs would have erupted. For me the SOUL of the show was the volcanic relationship between Frank and Marie. How many viewers have, or know an elderly couple who love to bicker like F&M ? This show will be missed, but this finale was missing something.

Editorial Review:

On every part of the planet, men and women are achieving the impossible. Mountains of earth are drilled, blasted and moved while massive structures are erected to tame and traverse great bodies of water. Join us for a globe-spanning look at some of the most astounding feats of EXTREME ENGINEERING as mankind soars to new heights of imagination and ingenuity in the struggle to meet the challenges of the modern world.

Episodes:

Widening the Panama Canal: Built more than 90 years ago, the canal was an engineering marvel, but to keep up with modern-day shipping demands, the old channel must be widened, presenting a mammoth set of challenges to the engineers and workmen.

Boston's Big Dig: One of the largest and most technically challenging infrastructure projects in American history, Boston's Big Dig encompasses an 8- to 10-lane-wide highway winding 120 feet underground through downtown Boston, a new tunnel beneath the city's harbor and the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world. After decades of planning and construction, this enormous undertaking promises to turn the bustling, congested "Bean Town" into a fast-moving city of tomorrow.

Building Hong Kong's Airport: When the citizens of Hong Kong needed a new international airport, they went 16 miles offshore to two islands that were then leveled and merged into one platform for a giant terminal and runway structure. And then a series of world-class highways, bridges and tunnels were created to connect the new airport to the city.

Tunneling Under the Alps: Deep below the scenic wonders of the Alps, an army of engineers and workers is creating the longest tunnel in the world in a hellish environment of deadly unstable rock and mud. When completed, the trans-alpine tunnel will turn the mountain range from a giant road block to a free- flowing corridor of goods and commerce moving across Europe.

Iceland Tunnels: On the desolate northeastern tip of Iceland, 100 miles south of the Arctic Circle, first-class excavation and construction crews, responsible for some of the greatest tunneling projects around the world, are attempting to burrow 45 miles and hundreds of feet underground in an audacious plan to turn ice into electricity.

Container Ships: Danish ship builders are attempting what was once unimaginable to their Viking forebears: to construct a monster container ship, a vessel, that when completed, will blow the rudders off the worldwide cargo shipping industry.

Oakland Bay Bridge: The new Bay Bridge will replace the most heavily traveled bridge in the United States: the spans linking San Francisco to Oakland and the East Bay. Now several years behind schedule, the pressure is on, but the unanticipated problems of building a $2.8 billion two-mile earthquake-proof road 300 feet in the air are tough to beat.

Venice Flood Gates: The engineers and builders are on a desperate mission...to keep Venice, Italy from becoming the next Atlantis. This enormous undertaking calls for 79 steel floodgates, each bigger than a football field and weighing over 300 tons.

A great series on HBO, had to have! 5 out of 5 stars.

Although I have not received the series yet, on DVD, the seller, Davie, via Harmonious 1 on Amazon.com is a thoughtful and very responsive seller. He contacted me right back, when I sent him an email via amazon.com, and requested that the series be sent via expedited shipping, because Amazon.com didn't seem to offer or to honor my request with this and another order I wrote to the sellers about and to amazon.com. Harmonious 1 as a seller is A#1 and I feel confident the order will come expedited as promised and will be the great deal it appears to be. I will comment more when I have it in hand.Entourage- The Complete First Four Seasons

When I bought this package.. it said it online that it includes session 1 to 3a and 3b.. However when i got it in mail it only had session 1, 3a and 3b. they did not include session 2. They also took a long time to ship it (like 15 days)

Excellent Until Season 4... 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought the Entourage series on a Gold Box Deal--a whim. I don't have HBO and had barely even heard of the show, so I had nothing to compare to. The show starts off in Season 1 as a great watch. The cast is memorable and humorous, and the story line is pretty easy to follow however I'd be hard pressed to stay attentive week to week after a 30 minute stint for each show. I tell my friends who've never heard of it that it's a male version of Sex in the City--but not really. This show doesn't focus on relationships, rather an actor and his brother, cousin, and best friend and their "lavish" life in California. Vince, the main character plays the excellent role in being a "not so perfect" actor who in the end tries to stay true to his original game of what he was born to do--acting. Drama, his brother is absolutely hilarious. Check out the "Saigon" episode; I still chuckle at him in Walsh's hotel room.

Turtle and Eric's characters are true staples in the show. They do more in providing the assists for the humor rather than being the punchlines themselves.

Ari is the absolute quiet thunder in this entire show. He starts out as "Vince's Agent", but is really so much more to the group. His antics and quips are the most hilarious. His funniest line (to me) is in one of the episodes where he's trying to land Vince the huge movie. (I'm not into spoilers)

Watching all the shows together lets you see the evolvement of all the actors. While Seasons 1-3 had some great runs and a nice ending, Season 4 actually kind of milked itself. I've got all of one sentence to say about Season 4 (out of them all). Although it had the same amount of humor as the others--it did evolve in that sense, the actual plot took 12 shows to hash out! The show kinds of leaves you to carry out your own assessments: Turtle isn't working with anyone since Saigon and Drama probably isn't cooking because he's so busy with the new show. There's more, but I won't dwell. I don't plan to watch Season 5 until it finishes, then I'll probably download it from iTunes or something to that effect.

As I say with all movies and DVD packs, it's better to wait until their cheaper or on sale.

A great concept: The Beatles appeared four times on CBS' The Ed Sullivan Show, and while one is tempted to skip through this collection to watch only the Fab Four's 20 performances, there is historic value in seeing Sullivan's complete programs. With America reeling from the murder of a popular president, JFK, less than three months prior, the Beatles' Sullivan debut on February 9, 1964, ushered a renewing joy into the country's living rooms. The band kept it up another two weeks, sharing Sullivan's variety-show bills with the likes of impressionist Frank Gorshin, comedians Allen & Rossi, future Monkee Davy Jones (in a scene from Oliver!), and sundry unrepentant vaudevillians, magicians, and acrobats. Various problems with microphones and bad direction (one barely sees John Lennon on 2/9) couldn't stop the magic, and by the time the Beatles made a return trip in September 1965, the group's brilliance and wit outsized their television surroundings. --Tom Keogh

Editorial Review:

Get out your handkerchiefs. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is all about warm fuzzies, tear-jerking, and a lot of cool houses. In this edition (it should be noted that the DVD is a best-of from Season One, not the complete season), a crew, led by former Trading Spaces carpenter Ty Pennington, finds families with extreme needs, such as a child allergic to his mold-infested house and a pair of siblings who became guardian to their six younger brothers and sisters when their parents died within days of each other. They send the family off on vacation for seven days and work around the clock to gut, design, build, and decorate their dream house. Watching them bicker (particularly between building planner Constance Ramos and exterior designer Preston Sharp) and stress out over making their deadline, you wonder: why don't they just keep the family out of the house an extra day or two? But then again, that's what creates drama.

Some of the transformations are truly impressive: a family of three sons receives a mini-baseball field at 1/7th scale in their backyard, complete with authentic Dodger Stadium grass. A tri-level home is completely transformed--including an elevator--to accommodate a teen in a wheelchair. Sometimes they even throw in bonus prizes: a grill the size of a truck for a community mother figure who liked to barbecue for the homeless in her front yard; paying off the mortgage for the eight siblings living on their own. While the ideas make for good television, some of their shtick is all too repetitive, particularly prank-calling each family on vacation to trick them into thinking their house will be lined with fluorescent orange carpet. Host Pennington is especially guilty of this, and his hunk-on-sugar routine can get tiresome. Still, if you enjoy watching nice people's dreams come true, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will tickle your fancy. --Ellen A. Kim

Editorial Review:

The first television season of Ellen was actually called These Friends of Mine, and while the series sought to define itself through various tones and shades of comedy, the best episodes captured a middle ground between Seinfeld and Friends. Ellen DeGeneres is both a brilliant centerpiece and generous ensemble player, constantly finding fresh ways to mine laughs from her ever-rambling, guilt-ridden, and perpetually dissatisfied heroine. As Ellen Morgan, bookstore employee and platonic roommate of semi-loser Adam (Arye Gross), DeGeneres finds plenty of opportunity to explore humiliation. In the pilot episode, Ellen's unhappiness with her bad photo on a driver's license prompts an obsessive (and unsuccessful) quest to beautify her ID. "The Promotion" finds Ellen and her posse (besides Gross, costars in these first 13 programs include Maggie Wheeler and Holly Fulger) trying to figure out how to bribe Ellen's boss into giving her a job boost, a futile adventure that ends (don't ask how) in a bad way at the Mexican border.

Among the best episodes is the Seinfeld-ian "The Mugging," starring Mariska Hargitay as a gorgeous woman mugged on her way to Adam and Ellen's front door. A cowardly Adam saw the crime and not only fails to help, he won't admit being an eyewitness lest he lose his shot at romancing the victim. Along those same black-comedy lines, "The Anchor" finds Ellen neurotically pursuing a friendship with a woman she can't stand, simply because the latter heard Ellen speaking badly of her. The 13 shows in this set are presented out of season one's chronological order, but that makes little difference to the best material here. --Tom Keogh

Another show that shouldn't have been canceled! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Marshall Teller is a 13-year-old with a fascination for the strange and unusual. At least, ever since he moved to Eerie, Indiana, which he believes is the center of weirdness for the entire planet. Elvis lives on his paper route, Bigfoot eats out of his garbage, and his sister is a goddess. Well, actually, that bit about his sister is just my opinion. Along with his best-friend and partner, 10-year-old Simon, Marshall keeps track of everything strange that goes on in the seemingly quaint little town, and more often than not finds himself in the heart of the weirdness with nothing but his wits and his sidekick to get him out.

"Eerie Indiana" aired on NBC from '91 to '92. I was in high school at the time, one year older than the show's lead, Omri Katz (probably most recognized as the star of Disney's Halloween film "Hocus Pocus"), and I was an instant fan, though I can't for the life of me recall the time slot the show was in. Sort of a junior version of "Kolchak: The Night Stalker" and a predecessor to Night Stalker-inspired "The X-Files", Eerie was noteworthy as a highly imaginative show for the whole family that wasn't dumbed-down. The writing was smart and fun, and the acting was excellent! The show boasted some fine guest-stars and great continuity. Omri Katz was a fabulous actor (a shame he didn't do much other stuff), as was everyone on the show. And, yeah, I was and am still totally in love with Julie Condra, who played Marshall's big sister Syndi. The final six episodes of the all too short-lived series involved a retooling that replaced "World O' Stuff" proprietor Archie Hahn with the original Addams Family's John Astin in a cleverly written twist and introduced the new character of Dash X, a weird, gray-haired, self-interested kid with no home or knowledge of his past, played by a longtime fave of mine who gets much more cartoon voice work than live-action work, Jason Marsden.

This DVD set is a fine collection for loyal fans of the show or anyone interested in the weird and unusual. Definitely a "must have", though the picture and sound quality aren't really what one hopes for from DVD by any means, and there are no DVD extras. All 19 episodes are included here, including one that wasn't aired in the original run, which is probably the reason it appears as the final episode in the set, despite being set before the Dash X episodes. Here is my breakdown of the episodes.

Disc One

Forever Ware: Marshall and Simon try to help the oddball twin sons of a woman who is inducting Mrs. Teller into her cult of Forever Ware sellers, but Forever Ware holds a very strange secret.

The Retainer: In his nervousness about a trip to the dentist for a retainer, Marshall relays to us the tale of a kid he and Simon new who had a tragic experience as a result of his own retainer, a bizarre invention of the local dentist with the unexpected ability to translate the voices of dogs.

ATM With a Heart of Gold: Simon makes friends with Mr. Teller's latest invention, an ATM with a personality of its own. But the ATM is so eager to make friends that he begins shelling out the dough to Simon every time he comes by.

Disc Two

The Losers: Marshall has to make a trip to the Bureau of Lost when he decides that recovering his father's lost briefcase may be vital to keeping his parents together.

Scariest Home Videos: It's Halloween, and things are as weird as ever when Marshall and Simon have to deal with a mummy from an old movie that has switched places with Simon's little brother, now trapped in the television.

Just Say No Fun: Eerie is losing its since of humor thanks to a school nurse reprogramming everyone with a fun-removing eye-test and matching glasses.

Heart on a Chain: Marshall's crush on a cute girl with a heart problem leads to trouble when she gets a transplant from their mutual friend.

Disc Three

The Dead Letter: Guest starring Spider-Man's Tobey Maguire, Marshall and Simon encounter a ghost who insists that they deliver a letter for him to his lost love, but the now old woman isn't willing to accept the message.

Who's Who: Marshall and Simon meet a distressed girl at the World O' Stuff whose family is simply unbearable. When Marshall sees the girl has a talent for drawing, he buys her an Eerie-made pencil that unleashes some amazing abilities.

The Lost Hour: Setting his watch back an hour, even though Indiana doesn't do the Daylight Savings thing, throws things off bigtime for Marshall, landing him an hour behind everyone else in an Eerie nearly devoid of life. Nearly.

Marshall's Theory of Believability: Marshall and Simon are psyched to meet their idol, Professor Zircon, a paranormal investigator who is in town with his traveling museum on a mission to experience an alien encounter and make a whole lotta money on his way out.

Disc Four

Tornado Days: During a bizarre town festival, Marshall stays home and has a strange encounter with a tornado rider determined to join up with Eerie's own annual whirlwind. The great Matt Frewer guest stars!

The Hole in the Head Gang: While investigating a haunted house, one of many in Eerie, the guys discover a strange, homeless, gray-haired kid around Marshall's age with markings on his hand and no name or memory of how he got to Eerie or anything before that. In addition, they discover the ghost of the worst bank robber ever, Grungy Bill.

Mr. Chaney: It's time for the town to pick a Harvest King, and most everyone is excited about it, but Marshall and the gray-haired kid know something is weird about the whole thing. The Harvest King has a great day, but at the end he must go out into the woods till he sees the Eerie Wolf, and it does seem strange that there are no ex-Harvest Kings.

No Brain, No Pain: Marshall and Simon try to help a homeless guy with a scrambled brain who is being pursued by a strange women with some high-tech gear. The weird gray-haired kid is helping the highest bidder though.

Disc Five

The Loyal Order of Corn: Marshall and Simon are investigating the local lodge that Marshall's father has joined. They have a reputation for being more than just a group of men having a good time, and the gray-haired kid, who now calls himself Dash X, is already working there, so something sinister must be up!

Zombies in P.J.s: When Mr. Radford is concerned about a visit from the I.R.S., a visitor comes into town to help him increase sales 100 percent, but at what cost? No one seems to get anything from him without signing one of his many contracts.

Reality Takes a Holiday: Marshall is thrown for a loop when his reality suddenly changes on him. After finding a script to everything he and his family just said, he finds himself in a world where Eerie Indiana is just a TV show, he and his family are just a bunch of actors, and Dash X is scheming to have him killed off and take over the show! Yep, this is the real final episode.

The Broken Record: In an episode that didn't air till syndication, possibly because of the more serious subject matter, Marshall introduces a new friend to his favorite heavy metal band, the Pitbull Surfers, but he doesn't anticipate how deeply obsessed with the band the boy will become. A victim of verbal abuse from his father, the music soon becomes an outlet for the boys frustrations, and that's not all. This one was supposed to come between "Tornado Days" and "The Hole in the Head Gang".

"Eerie Indiana" is definitely one of my all-time faves, and it was a hoot watching it all over again in this DVD set. If you are a fan of shows like "Kolchak the Night Stalker", "The X-Files", "Twilight Zone", "So Weird", "Goosebumps", "Are You Afraid of the Dark", "Smallville", "Honey I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show" or anything of that nature, you're sure to love this! I also recommend fans of the film "Hocus Pocus", the greatest Halloween movie ever made, give "Eerie Indiana" a look. With the same lead actor riding around town on his bike trying to save it from weird dangers, it clearly has its similarities. There was actually a spin-off series of "Eerie Indiana" called "Eerie Indiana: The Other Dimension" on Fox in 1998 that followed a replay of the original show. Unfortunately, while I remember the advertisements, I never caught that show, which was apparently set in a parallel dimension in which the situations were very much the same but the cast of characters (played by different actors, of course) had different but similarly sounding names. That show's Marshall Teller was named Mitchell Taylor. Instead of Simon Holmes, his sidekick was a Stanley Hope, and Mitchell's big sister was named Carrie instead of Syndi. I hear it didn't have the same spirit of the original. Probably was dumbed-down for kids, though that's just my guess. Knowing that, my biggest disappointment in not seeing that 15 episode series is that another actress I have a big crush on, Lindy Booth, played the big-sis this time around.

Anyway, do yourself a favor and pick up the original show. It's currently at a pretty sweet price for a 5 disc set of such a great, complete series. You also get to enjoy the beauty of Julie Condra all over again, as I certainly have been enjoying over the past week or so. And, if you like it, there are some books out there that continue Marshall and Simon's adventures which came out back when the spin-off series did. I haven't checked them out, but they certainly look intriguing! Wish they'd start up a comic book series now too!

Classic, even ten years later 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Ten years ago, Ellen was a mid rated comedy, a "female Seinfeld" it was once described, about a group of friends living and loving in L.A. Season three Ellen - The Complete Season Threehit its peak, with one of the funniest hour long episodes in the history of sitcoms, Paige's wedding. And then came the infamous season four, with the even more infamous hour on television "The Puppy Episode", which galvanized and turned the nation on its ear, and became the birthmother, intentionally or not.

I purchased season four of Ellen primarily to relive those days gone past, and see if the Puppy Episode held up to the previous "genius" season. And the good news is, it did. With all of the "Ellen is gay" hype gone, and the public thinking of her as more of a Oscar host and congenial television hostess, the episode stands alone now. The thing that is quickly apparent is how personal this show was to Ellen, as she herself comes out of the closet nationally, as her character comes out to her small group of friends. Both make significant impacts on their worlds, but Ellen's world was totally rocked. As she talks with counselor Oprah, she is both Ellen and Ellen Morgan, discussing and divulging the pain of coming out to millions of people who may have never realized how hard it is.

And what is even more surprising is how personal I took the show. It harkened me back to a time where I was struggling with these issues such as Ellen. I didn't take the time, surprisingly, to appreciate how similar she and I were, and how our shared experiences were so revolutionary. The episode itself was proof on how far we've come baby, and how far we have to go still.

Other than "the episode", the entire season plays out well. Many funny episodes are included in this collection, and you'll find yourself laughing out loud from one to another. You can't help but feel that each episode is bringing you one step closer to THE episode. And once that hits, you know you've just fallen into a new, and somewhat different show.

Ellen was courageous, and full of conviction to do what she did, when she did. Bravo to our funny lady, and thank you for teaching us, and taking us on an incredible ride.

The first TV vehicle for the many talents of comedienne Ellen DeGeneres came in the form of the half-hour sitcom ELLEN. The show lasted for four years and firmly established DeGeneres in the hearts and minds of the American public. Ellen played a bookstore employee who regularly has to deal with her irritating parents her best friends Paige (Joely Fisher) and Adam (Arye Gross) and a variety of other colorful characters.
