Don't buy the pilot 3 out of 5 stars.
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

I've just bought season 1 and the pilot episode as the previously reviews helpfully said that season 1 didn't include the pilot. What they didn't say is that episode 1 and 2 of the first season ARE the same as the pilot episode. So if you are buying the box set of season 1 you don't need to buy the pilot, it's the same as the first 2 episodes.

An amazing series:)) 5 out of 5 stars.

I absolutely loved this show. Every episode was outstandinly impressive... I wish I could say the same for the book by Stephen King, but for those of you who havent seen it I stronly reccomend the show... stay the hell away from the novel.

Dead Zone at its best! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Dead Zone - The Complete Second Season is one of the best DVD box sets out there. The 19 episodes come in a 5 gate-fold and are presented in a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen. Some of my favorite episodes from this season have been: Valley of the Shadow, Descent, Precipitate, Cabin Pressure, Deja Voodoo, and Visions. I'd also like to make clear that there are no defective discs in this box set. One person who gave this item a bad review said that he had many discs replaced and that none worked. It seems to me that it's the DVD player that is defective in a case like this, and not the discs. I can't wait to buy The Complete Third Season of The Dead Zone!

Editorial Review:

The Complete Second Season DVD set includes all 19 episodes from the second season on five discs:
Disc 1: Valley of the Shadow, Descent, Ascent and The Outsider
Disc 2: Precipitate, Scars, Misbegotten and Cabin Pressure
Disc 3: The Man Who Never Was, Dead Men Tell Tales, Playing God, Zion
Disc 4: The Storm, Plague, Deja Voodoo, The Hunt
Disc 5: The Mountain, The Combination, Visions

Special Features include audio commentary on all 19 episodes, ten featurettes taking the fans on a behind-the-scenes look at how an episode is made, Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, widescreen format, interviews with Directors and Guest Stars, and interactive menus with all the DZ cast members.

loved the show 5 out of 5 stars.

Love Pacey and Joey. Their love story was far better than the soulmate story with Dawson.

Recommend it to all.

Dawson's Creek, season 3 and 4 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought these two seasons for my daughter for her birthday. She was so happy to get them! The purchasing of them was easy and fast! Thank you Amazon and best-price-dvd.

The last good season. 4 out of 5 stars.

Dawson's Creek - The Complete Fourth Season in my opinion is the last great season of this much criticized show. Joey and Pacey's passionate but troubled relationship is the main focus, the prom episode is my favorite of the season, when Pacey yells at Joey - just gets to me everytime. Dawson falls for Pacey's older sis which is hard to believe and the gang graduate from high school. This show really suffered in seasons 5 and 6, but at least seasons 1-4 were close to perfection, ahh the memories.

Editorial Review:

It's senior year for Dawson, Joey, Pacey, Jen and Jack! After spending the summer together, Joey and Pacey find it difficult to keep their romance going with the realities of school, college applications and their strained relationship with Dawson. Dawson rediscovers his true life's dream, Jen turns over a new leaf after getting a new boyfriend, and Jack tries to rebuild relationships after revealing he's gay.

The Feeling of Finding a Truly Great Show 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

There is no feeling like finding a truly great show. I'm oddly envious of those who have yet to experience great shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and Six Feet Under because such greatness awaits them. In buying the first season of "Dead Like Me," I could have guessed it would be one of those wonderful shows, because I'd seen creator Bryan Fuller's work on one of my favorite shows, Wonderfalls. However, I couldn't have predicted how great the first episode would be. I swear on all television holy, the pilot of "Dead Like Me" is the single best pilot of any show I've ever seen. It's hilarious, perfectly scripted, wonderfully acted, and is one of the most heartbreaking and gut busting hours of television there is.

While the pilot really stand out from the rest of the series as the best episode, the rest of this collection ranges from good to great. I was a bit worried, because creator Bryan Fuller (the reason I bought this in the first place) left after the fifth episode, due to creative differences with MGM. Executive Producer John Masius takes on show-runner duties and does a very competent job in keeping the show consistent. He effortlessly maintained the quirky style that Fuller set up for them, probably due mostly to how nicely Fuller set it up in the first place. But I've gone on and on about the creative team for long enough. Let's get down to some Muth.

Ellen Muth, who plays the lead character Georgia Lass, is simply brilliant. She has such a--ironically enough--life to her, giving such a fantastic and layered performance. I'd go as far as to say she's the best thing this side of Kristen Bell. The rest of the cast, particularly Mandy Patinkin as Rube and Laura Harris as Daisy Adair, give great performances as well.

Each episode will make you laugh, and almost as many will make you cry. The ride isn't always perfectly smooth--"Nighthawks" would have been great if the meat of it had been fleshed out instead of loading it with flashback clips--but it's such an enjoyable show that you're more likely to forget its flaws than dwell on them. Long live the Reapers!

9/10

Dirty Jobs that are not always dirty 4 out of 5 stars.

Although the Title is Dirty Jobs, some of his jobs are hot or smelly but NOT always dirty and he does a good job of many different occupations interpersed with humor.

EXCELLENT! 5 out of 5 stars.

This has got to be the best tv show there is.
My 11 year old daughter wanted the series for christmas.
She enjoys it as much as her parents do.

Great Series! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This third collection of Dirty Jobs continues the pattern set by the first two collections of offering a "best of" set of episodes. Mike Rowe and crew have established a formula for each episode that calls for showing an overview of the job followed by Mike getting dirty.

After so many episodes the show has evolved into interesting and important jobs that only a few people work at. Bridge painters, buoy cleaners, and NASA crawler maintainers make up a small portion of workers, but knowing the nature of the work is entertaining and educational.

The series is suitable for children as young as age 5. Unlike earlier collections which contained some details on animal breeding, Dirty Jobs Collection 3 has nothing I found objectionable. Disgusting? Yes.

Check out the leather tanning episode for some truly gross work and the bridge painting episode for some stunning images of the Mackinac Suspension Bridge in northern Michigan.

Editorial Review:

With humor, bravery and a high tolerance for all kinds of grossness, Mike Rowe exposes the grimy underbelly of America's dirtiest jobs! Working alongside the amazing men and women who tackle these vital jobs everyday, Rowe takes up the gauntlet of danger, skill and humiliation thrown down by these unsung professions. In these 12 episodes, you'll experience 20 of Rowe's most daring, most filthy jobs. You wouldn't want to do them, but they're lots of fun to watch!

Editorial Review:

Mike tackles some of his dirtiest and most dangerous jobs yet as he slogs through muck and mire in search of bloodworms, guts a mold-infested house damaged by Hurricane Katrina, packs explosives into the wall of a salt mine and much more. But these jobs require more than steel nerves and a strong stomach; sometimes they require sheer finesse - like working with a rare breed of goats that faint anytime they're startled, helping bugs breed in the perfect environment or sculpting gardening pots out of manure.

Experience 28 of Rowe's most unusual and adventurous jobs in these 12 complete episodes. You won't believe what some people do to earn a living!

Proving that "reapers are anything but grim company" (Cleveland Plain Dealer), this "deliciously dark comedy about the afterlife" (Newsday) returns for "a second season as strong as its first" (Philadelphia Daily News). Thanks to breakout star Ellen Muth's prickly charm, Dead Like Me has "an amusingly odd and touching energy all its own" (Detroit News and Free Press). After more than a year as a grim reaper, George (Muth) has realized that being a teenager in the afterlife is as complex as in real life. There are still unrequited crushes, agonizing dilemmas and the occasional bad attitude. Along with her kooky "co-reapers" Mason, Daisy, Roxy and Rube, George struggles to collect souls while managing her own awkward development…into an adult reaper!Disc One"Send in the Clown," "The Ledger," "Ghost Story," "The Shallow End"Disc Two"Hurry," "In Escrow," "Rites of Passage," "The Escape Artist"Disc Three"Be Still My Heart," "Death Defying," "Ashes to Ashes," "Forget Me Not" Disc Four"Last Call," "Always," "Haunted," Bonus Material

Deadliest Catch is a wonderful series! I'm still watching the first series, but if you are interested in crabbing, fishing, or even just up for some good adventure, then this is the show for you! Delivery was fast and I would definitely recommed buying from this seller. I know that I will again.

Editorial Review:

Howling winds fierce enough to knock people off their feet, tossing waves, frigid temperatures. Swinging 700-pound crab pots for hours. Guaranteed injuries. That's the life of an Alaskan crab fisherman. He can earn enough money in a few months for a family to live on for a year or more. But it's also one of the deadliest, most backbreaking jobs there is. For these men, many second- and third-generation fishermen, working to the brink of exhaustion is more than just a job - it's a matter of pride. Crews continue to forge into the frigid Bering Sea to compete against not only Mother Nature, but also against each other as they struggle in an increasingly regulated and cut-throat world to maintain a family tradition that has lasted for generations.

This show FELL APART in season 5. 2 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The characters were all seperated and it kept the drama and the interesting interaction and dramatic life moments spread out and minimum.

The season was less interesting than the previous, with the exception of some very major moments in Dawson's family. The relationships were less interesting. I mean, Charlie & Joey??? Give me a break.

But the main thing that bugged me was the grasping for straws storytelling and the technical disasters. The writing? First of all. Charlie asks Joey to front his band. Huh? She jumped up on stage one time in a fit of wild inhibition, and in the following episodes, she doesn't sing once. Then she's asked to front his band... she doesn't practice... she just hops up there and knows the songs and has never once worked with the band who's performing before a packed bar. Ridiculous.

Jen (Michelle Williams) bounced around like a jack rabbit for a lot of the season. She is forced to act so corny about Dawson and their relationship it was at times, horribly annoying. This girl must have an identity crisis because she's played so many different personalities in this series, it isn't even funny.

Then there's the writing. So, why is it that all of the people that Dawson, Joey, Pacey & Jen meet... talk the same way they do? With the same sarcasm and pop culture humor. These people are completely random encounters who've never talked to them before... but yet, they talk the same way??

Like, the drug dealing mugger from episode "Downtown Crossing". Joey is being held at gunpoint, but she talks to him like he's Pacey annoying her. Meanwhile, the mugger/gunmen is slinging the same, pop culture reference dialogue at her that has been such a fixture with the show. Could the writers not give him another voice? A unique voice? I thought maybe the mugger grew up with them, or was hiding in Dawson's Capeside closet when they were talking.

The same goes for Professor David Wilder. Apparently Pop culture conversation and dialogue is a class that everyone can take.

I guess the show only had one writer.

The ratings plummeted during this season, causing the following season to be the last. I didn't watch the show when it aired, I purchased the DVDs and watched them. There were many times when I felt bad for the actors in the show. Many times they were put in really silly situations and you can obviously see that they had to grin and bare it.

All in a days work. Live to act another day.

Editorial Review:

In the series’ fifth season, the gang makes the transition from adolescence to adulthood as they embark on their first year of college. Joey, Jen and Jack all move to Boston for college and try to adjust to life in the big city while Dawson pursues his dream of attending film school in Los Angeles and Pacey stays behind in Capeside to work. The fifth season also featured regular guest appearances by Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill), Sherilyn Fenn (Darkness Falls) and Busy Phillips (Freaks and Geeks). During its six year run, Dawson’s Creek was honored with the GLAAD Media Award for "Outstanding Dramatic TV Series," nominated for a TV Guide Award for "Favorite Teen Show" and garnered three wins at the 2001 Teen Choice Awards.
