Sad Little Season 5 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

My family have been fans of the Dead Zone for its first 4 seasons. I would give each of those seasons 5 stars, no problem. But this season! Ack! The writing is so abysmal it's really quite funny, and ludicrous episodes like "Panic" (which make no sense whatsoever)kept us laughing for 30 minutes until we couldn't take it anymore and turned the DVD off. The Great Conspiracy Plot is a no-brainer and rather dull, the assassinations just plain silly. Who wrote these scripts?? I feel sad for the excellent cast, many of whom are notably absent in this series, perhaps they read the scripts and bailed out before humiliating themselves?

Dead Zone Season 5 4 out of 5 stars.

It's a lot like the other seasons, but with a darker plot and an even more unsure Johnny Smith. If you like the other seasons, check it out, because there is only one other season after this one...The Dead Zone - The Complete Fifth Season

Editorial Review:

Based on the characters and story from the best-selling book by Stephen King, THE DEAD ZONE is a unique psychological thriller that combines a rich mix of action, the paranormal and a continuing quest for justice. Contains the complete fifth season.

The Best Season of Dawson's Creek 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Season 3 is the turning point for friends Dawson, Joey, and Pacey. Up until now, the show has been about Dawson and Joey's dysfunctional friendship/psuedo-romance.

However, 4 important events guide this season to probably the most emotionally exhilarating season finale of the series: 1) a mysterious, sexy stranger named Eve turns up in Capeside and takes an interest in Dawson and Andie, 2)After apologizing for breaking up with him and holding his part in her father's reincarcination against him, Joey asks Dawson to take her back and offers to sleep with him. He rejects her and says they should just be friends. She is angry and hurt, 3)Dawson then asks Pacey to look after Joey for awhile to make sure she's okay. Pacey is hesitant to get involved in the situation, but agrees. 4) Pacey's girlfriend returns from a summer spent in a mental health facility and reveals she cheated on him. He is heartbroken and ends the relationship.

After these events occur, we are treated to the wonderfully slow build up of the friendship, then romance between Pacey and Joey, which threatens their friendship with Dawson. One of the mosted heatedly debated triangles in television history thus begins and it drives the last three seasons of this teen soap. Many of the reviews on here are pretty much a testament to the division of most of Dawson's Creek fans into DJers (Dawson and Joey) and PJers (Pacey and Joey), so take what you will from the reviews. The same is true for S4-S6 reviews.

So, I'm a Pjer and this is my favorite season not only for that reason, but because I think it showcases the casts' talent and has the best build-up to season finale of all the seasons. It's just very compelling.

The Season 3 set has a fun Capeside Tour extra, it's 23 episodes on 4 discs, but unless you're a picture quality junkie, the picture quality is just fine and is the best on this season's DVDs compared to other seasons. Also, some of the bad reviews are also in relation to music that has been replaced due to cost. It's too bad, but I didn't follow the show closely when it aired, so it doesn't bother me at all. Enjoy!

DEAD ZONE SEASON 4 I AM VERY HAPPY WITH ALL MY DVDS I HAVE RECIVED FROM AMAZON IT HAS BEEN THE BEST MOVIE SITE I HAVE FOUND

Dead Zone gets better 4 out of 5 stars.

OK not everybody is a dead zone fan. I am. I don't like the relationship between Johnny and Sarah. I grow weary of the Stilson storyline and especially the X-Files treatment of it. I guess the writers can go there whenever their creativity takes a break. That said I really liked season 4. Johnny meets a girl psychic, a good episode, and it closes with a bonus Christmas Episode that is my ALL TIME favorite episode of Dead Zone. This season is worth it for any Dead Zone fan, and is a MUST for a serious fan.

Episodes are good - but DVD has manufacturing flaw... 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this series soon after it came out, but am just watching it now. It seems whoever manufactured this season's DVD set goofed. When you go to Select Episode (which is what I always do, since I watch one here and there). The list of available episodes is only TWO (although there are FOUR on the DVD). I can see absolutely no way to access the other two episodes unless I go to PLAY ALL and then fast forward (which might not work on all DVD players) to the episode I wish to view. It's really inconvenient. I just thought I'd warn you. But yes - I'd still buy it - I enjoy The Dead Zone episodes, although I like the "threads" to surface in the stories more frequently.

Good movie series. It is exciting and has good plots. I give it only 4 stars because it only has 12 episodes to the season. Most of the stories stand alone but also inter twine with each other in an abstract way. It is best viewed in order. Some of the stories make you think about our government and is this really happening in our day, and make you wonder,or just plain nervous. Some just make you tear up with joy.

Editorial Review:

Mike tackles some of his dirtiest and most dangerous jobs yet as he slogs through muck and mire in search of bloodworms, guts a mold-infested house damaged by Hurricane Katrina, packs explosives into the wall of a salt mine and much more. But these jobs require more than steel nerves and a strong stomach; sometimes they require sheer finesse - like working with a rare breed of goats that faint anytime they're startled, helping bugs breed in the perfect environment or sculpting gardening pots out of manure.

Experience 28 of Rowe's most unusual and adventurous jobs in these 12 complete episodes. You won't believe what some people do to earn a living!

Disc 1: Lobster Fisherman, Seaweed Harvester, Snake Researcher, Concrete Stamper, Penguin Keeper, Bloodworm Digger, Hurricane Barrier Cleaner, Bell Maker, Home Renovator, Rat Exterminator, Mosquito Control Officer, Stump Remover, Farmer of Fainting Goats, Bug Breeder, Salmon Carcass Counter, Poo Pot Maker

Disc 2: Wine Barrel Maker, Mule Logger, Triple-A Baseball Groundskeeper, Boat Mooring Fixer, Well Digger, Wine Cave Digger, Airport Worker, Salt Miner, Wine Maker, Cattle Rancher, Hydro-Seed Operator, Steamship Cleaner

Dirty Jobs that are not always dirty 4 out of 5 stars.

Although the Title is Dirty Jobs, some of his jobs are hot or smelly but NOT always dirty and he does a good job of many different occupations interpersed with humor.

EXCELLENT! 5 out of 5 stars.

This has got to be the best tv show there is.
My 11 year old daughter wanted the series for christmas.
She enjoys it as much as her parents do.

Great Series! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This third collection of Dirty Jobs continues the pattern set by the first two collections of offering a "best of" set of episodes. Mike Rowe and crew have established a formula for each episode that calls for showing an overview of the job followed by Mike getting dirty.

After so many episodes the show has evolved into interesting and important jobs that only a few people work at. Bridge painters, buoy cleaners, and NASA crawler maintainers make up a small portion of workers, but knowing the nature of the work is entertaining and educational.

The series is suitable for children as young as age 5. Unlike earlier collections which contained some details on animal breeding, Dirty Jobs Collection 3 has nothing I found objectionable. Disgusting? Yes.

Check out the leather tanning episode for some truly gross work and the bridge painting episode for some stunning images of the Mackinac Suspension Bridge in northern Michigan.

Editorial Review:

With humor, bravery and a high tolerance for all kinds of grossness, Mike Rowe exposes the grimy underbelly of America's dirtiest jobs! Working alongside the amazing men and women who tackle these vital jobs everyday, Rowe takes up the gauntlet of danger, skill and humiliation thrown down by these unsung professions. In these 12 episodes, you'll experience 20 of Rowe's most daring, most filthy jobs. You wouldn't want to do them, but they're lots of fun to watch!

Blackmail, revenge, threats, old sins and new scams: more Texas-style drama from the long-running saga. 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

The epic soap saga of those entertaining and battling oil-rich Texans returns with more back-stabbing, infighting and family feuding in this Season 11 DVD of all the passion, powerplay and malice in Dallas. This season has some good brand new stories but also a couple of mediocre ones as well as Pam's weak exit storyline. Larry Hagman dons his trademark Texan Stetson for another great portrayal as that devilish rogue J.R. Ewing who is nastier and meaner this season as he wheels and deals to get back his beloved Ewing Oil.

In this eleventh season Bobby won't help J.R. get Weststar so his big brother cooks up a nasty scheme (one of J.R.'s best against family) but it all backfires and a hot-headed Bobby takes violent revenge on J.R. in the Southfork pool ("You son of a bitch! You don't deserve to live.") At the Southfork barbecue this year more sparks fly and a sinful past returns to haunt a shocked Bobby. Hollywood legend Howard Keel, the star of many classic film musicals, is good as always as the hot-tempered Clayton Farlow whose marriage to Miss Ellie is spiced up when he befriends the beautiful young Laurel who learns to "never say never to J.R. Ewing" after J.R. blackmails her to sleep with him. It's crime time in Dallas as Sue Ellen and her lover Nicholas burst into J.R.'s apartment where a fight ensues with tragic consequences and culminating in a rehashed end-of-season cliffhanger.

Morgan Brittany stars as the memorable Katherine Wentworth who disappointingly returns only for a couple of episodes, a young pre-superstar Brad Pitt has a small role as Charlie's boyfriend Randy, Charlene Tilton returns in the penultimate episode as Lucy, and Linda Gray's real-life daughter plays Sue Ellen's secretary. The Emmy-winning and legendary Barbara Bel Geddes, who starred in 15 major Broadway productions (she was the original Maggie "the Cat" on Broadway in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1955), continues to demonstrate her amazing and natural acting abilities and in one moving scene she gives a classic and emotional performance when Miss Ellie has a showdown with Clayton at his office. Linda Gray continues her fine portrayal of the conniving Sue Ellen who this season becomes a big thorn in J.R.'s side.

Arch-villain J.R. is up to much blackmailing and sinister plotting as he weaves a tangled web in his scheme to exact his ultimate revenge on Weststar which has cleverly interwoven subplots involving Sue Ellen, Bobby, Cliff, April and Kimberly. There's plot-twists, passion and pouting between Sue Ellen and her dashing lover Nicholas Pearce who becomes a victim of J.R. and Sue Ellen's deadly power game. This is Priscilla Presley's final season where Ray and Jenna have a lackluster storyline of problems with disobedient teenager Charlie, although matters heat up for Ray in his near-fatal philandering (a "Fatal Attraction" rip-off plot). The legend that is Larry Hagman won the Soap Opera Digest Awards for Outstanding Prime Time Lead Actor and for Outstanding Prime Time Villain during this season. This dark eleventh season is produced by DALLAS veteran David Paulsen (Writer, Director & Story Editor of DVD Seasons 6, 7 & 8). There are 3 seasons left to be released on DVD of the world-famous Texas oil opera.

Next on DALLAS in the light-hearted and action-packed Season 12 DVD has Southfork playing host to explosions and gun battles in a Western-style range war, and the bitter feud between J.R. and Sue Ellen continues.

This is a really fabulous series! I bought this first season for my father, who saw this show once and was hooked. My husband is also an avid watcher. If you enjoy the show, you may also want to check out the book "Time Bandit" by the captains Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand. It was an amazing read!

Editorial Review:

From the Discovery Channel's hit series!Forty-foot waves, freezing temperatures, swinging 700-pound crab pots, a nearly 100% injury rate... but also the chance to earn enough money for a family to live on for a year with just a few days' work. Welcome to one of the world's deadliest jobs: the Alaskan crab fisherman. Deep in the frigid waters of the Bering Sea lurk the highly lucrative, yet often elusive, king and snow crabs. Each year, approximately 250 boats converge on Dutch Harbor, Alaska, where crewmembers regularly pull 20-hour shifts in freezing weather, exposed to the harshest elements on a slick deck. Now the hair-raising reality adventure comes to DVD in this thrilling 5-DVD set containing all 10 episodes: "Greenhorns," "Long Sleepless Nights," "Lady Luck," "Beat the Clock," "Dead of Winter," "Man Overboard," "High Hopes," "Good Fishing," "The Clock's Ticking," and "The Final Run."
