I love this funny and often hedious TV series. They last about 30 minutes each and are fun to watch in the evening when I don't have time for a full 1.5 hr movie. A little pricey, but I would still highly recommend it to anyone.

A friend first turned me on to this British SitCom a few years ago, and ever since I have been keeping my eye out for DVD copies of this show. When I saw another episode appear on BBC On Demand, I had to have the whole series!
A witty, smart, and sexy comedy series with a decidedly British flair, I would dub this the "Brittish Friends" and highly recommend this to anyone who is, has been, or plans on being in a relationship. However, it is definately not PG, so wait until the kids go to bed to watch this one...and perhaps shut the door to the living room, because if you're like me, you'll be laughing until you cry!

The price may seem high for a series with so few episodes in it (at least compared to the typical American season), but when you consider the number of laughs per episode it is a real bargain! This series is one of the funniest I have ever seen and with each viewing I find more things to love.

The Cosby Show is a really funny show. As an almost 40 year old woman, I still get a kick out of watching this show. I watched it when it was on tv originally and I still laugh just as much, if not more, as I did back then. This show is good for the whole family with clean comedy. Bill Cosby is funny, of course, but I think that Phylicia Rashad is hysterical. She portrays a strong, independent woman yet cares very much about her family and their well being. I think that this is a timeless classic comedy. Even in the midst of the comedy, there are still lessons that can be learned. Again, I definitely would suggest this for the whole family.

If you are a Cosby fan, or just want to watch clean humor, this is an excellent choice. Bill Cosby is hilarious, as are all the actors in this series. Some of my favorite episodes in this season are: Halloween: where Vanessa falls in love at a party. Phylicia Rashad looks fabulous as Tina Turner!, Clair's toe: Clair breaks her toe and she and Cliff have a "smooth" contest. Denise's Decision: Denise finally picks a college. This DVD includes bloopers and an interview with the director. Definitely worth buying!

The show itself was wonderful. However, the DVDs are marked in the Amazon description has having subtitles, and the box is marked with the "CC" symbol meaning the shows are closed captions for the hearing impaired. I have tried these DVDs on two different DVD players, plus two different television sets, plus my computer. There is no option on the DVDs to turn on subtitles, and no captions are displayed despite having captions always turned on (I am deaf and always have the captions turned on).

These DVDs are totally useless to me without the captions. This is why I give the DVDs a low rating. Omission or false advertising? Who can tell.

I started watching this show when I was a little kid. All the episodes and the humor came back and it was great. I have always loved Bill Cosby's sense and style of humor. It is so refreshing to listen to something clean as opposed to the crap that is circulating through today's television.

Glitzy but vapid CSI offshoot declines further 3 out of 5 stars.

CSI Miami has always been the pretty, but vapid, offshoot of the original Vegas-centered show, with simpler writing and acting, less complicated cases, and much less realism (even for a TV crime show).

I've followed the series since its inception; it's always been just mind-candy compared to the original show. In this sixth season, Miami finally reaches the point of not being worth watching even for mind-candy. If you watch the episode "To Kill a Predator", I'm talking about the ending. Never mind the simplistic moralizing, but cmon...talk about jumping the shark.

More broadly, the opening sequences (eg, before the title credits roll) are glitzier and edgier than ever, and in proper Miami-style, attractive people are everywhere. It's pretty much only the chicks in bikinis that save this from a 2 star rating. But the usual things that weaken realism in this series are even more pronounced than before:

* The forensics people regularly go on police raids. By themselves. With just a handgun and no backup. Even in cases where a SWAT team would be called for...

* Far too many cases feature some complicated personal links to the CSI people.

* Horatio ends up shooting a lot of people for being in a scientist desk-jockey position. But somehow never is investigated for that despite all the "Internal Affairs" tie-ins in the series?

* It's almost always one of the first two or three suspects and they almost always give in when prodded to confess. And they always cooperate no matter how guilty they are. And the CSIs are doing the interrogations. And the minors don't need advocates. And...

* Somehow one small team covers the entire city's forensics needs while conducting those regular police raids.

* Somehow the female CSIs are able to show up wearing cute little white pantsuits, long loose hair, and stiletto heels and process a scene like a construction site (umm..loose dirt, heels... doesn't work, they sink!). Nobody gets dirty, their hair doesn't get gunked up, huh?

* Legalities are rarely covered. Warrants, probable cause, who needs that??

* Science is skimmed over perfunctorily. DNA is used to include suspects rather than properly to exclude them, fingerprint searches take fractions of a second, network IP addresses magically map to individual people's dossiers. Forensics is nothing other than science, so here the series loses its focus entirely.

* Proper crime-scene procedure isn't followed either: see something special, pick it up bare-handed! No documenting, no gloves, no nothing.

* Etc Etc Ugh

It IS fiction, so there has to be some glossing over of reality's mundanities. But unlike the original CSI there's no attempt to preserve suspension of disbelief. Add in the increasingly simple acting and poor writing, and the result is a dis-service to the CSI franchise. And not worth your time. Not recommended.

Very good season! We had forgotten so much and have enjoyed watching the old season (got Season One first). It is great to watch the characters as they get to know each other. The only downside is Season Two is one that is seen a lot on syntication. Great family gift if you enjoy this show!

Season 2 picks up right where season 1 left off. Everything you liked or hated about season 1 continues here.

Now that we've been introduced to all the main characters, the show lets you see more of what makes them tick, and we even see the beginnings of romance as the season goes on. Some flashbacks to season 1 are a nice touch, keeping a nice continuity.

It's a very funny video but there was a little too much singing. I don't care much for old-style variety shows. But the outtakes were extremely funny! And I wished it was a little longer!

Great series that I still enjoy from time to time on TNT, except for the final season. While I understand the writers wanting to move the sisters into more of an advisory role to new witches and whitelighters after years of kicking demon butt themselves, the addition of the whining Billie and her snarky sister definitely jumped the shark for me. Boring and repetitive, the writers seemed to forget the history of their own show. For example, in previous seasons they drum into our heads that Wyatt, the heir of Excalibur, is the "ultimate power" and then suddenly they declare that Billie is. What??? Not to mention the "give her the benefit of the doubt" treatment of Christie, even though the Charmed Ones knew that firestarters are trained from a young age to be bodyguards for the Source (Season 4 "Lost and Bound".) Knowing that Christie was in the hands of evil for over ten years, it made no sense at all that the sisters would ignor her until things got critical.

Anyway, great series except for the last season.
