Steady Downfall, Good Interest. 3 out of 5 stars.

There seems to be nothing more terrifying to Sydney Bristow than waking up two years after she closed her eyes to find her world upside down: her squeeze married to another, a mysterious scar on her lower stomach, and two years of her life as material as a fairytale. As the season two closer, Bristow (played by Jennifer Garner) has woken up in a Hong Kong backdrop without any incilination of what has happened with her life.
The first episode holds the typical first episode feel: what has happened, and how can we fix it. Sydney finds herself strangely alone in a world she once found solace in. But as the script takes a turn for the worse, after a single day of going back to the CIA, she delivers a powerhouse monologue to her past love, Vaughn. I'm not sure if Michael Vartan is still the actor he once was in previous seasons, or maybe personal effects of his real-life relationship with Garner have surfaced onto the silver screen.
As the season progresses, and Syndey finds herself deeply entangled in the web of what has happened with her life, after waking up "like it was just one night", she finds herself fighting foes just as desperate as she to recover her memory, dealing with the day-to-day of working with Vaughn and his NSC wife, Lauren (well played by Melissa George), and finding how the terrorist organization of the season is getting so close to her life and her work.
Episodes that keep the ALIAS promise and remind one of the past two amazing seasons: Episodes 2-7, which draw their power from the state both Sydney and the viewer is in, mass confusion; Episode 9, a beautifully shot episode full of twists, turns, amazing sets and effects as Sydney goes throw an attempt to regain her memory by hypnosis; and Episode 22, the finale that holds more excitement than most, answering questions and asking new ones.
As ALIAS progresses, the seasons get less memorable with hard scripts and forced emotions, but this season a lot of emotional sympathy

Editorial Review:

The mystery and excitement reach unimaginable heights in ALIAS' spectacular third season. Special Agent Sydney Bristow awakens to an all-new world of intrigue from the very first moment of episode one, and her life is turned upside down as the action accelerates through the season's final frame. All 22 episodes plus must-see special features are included in this 6 disc set.

good Abbott and Costello 3 out of 5 stars.

This movie is a bit dated, but it's always fun to watch Abbott and Costello.

Another Universal classic! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I enjoyed the movie, again, and the special features, which I hadn't seen before. While a comedy, as best I can remember, this was the last movie to feature the classic monsters with traditional actors playing them.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH Chick 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Chick:I know there is no such thing as Dracula and you know there is no such thing as Dracula,
Wilber: Yea, but does Dracula know it!!
Also many people don't know this movie made the most money for Universal that year. Some much for smart executives who said old monsters and comedians are washed up.

"Soon the moon will be out and I'll turn into a wolf." "You and 20 million other guys!" 5 out of 5 stars.

Before GHOSTBUSTERS there was ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN! The last harrah for the original Universal monsters -- not to be seen until the Hammer revival a decade later. Amazingly, despite his identification with Count Dracula, Lugosi only played the character in the 1931 original and this movie. Glenn Strange (best remembered as the bartender of the Long Branch in the tv series GUNSMOKE) returns as the Monster, Lon Chaney Jr as Larry Talbot, the Wolfman. Never mind why he is after Dracula, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how Dracula's female assistant discovered poor Wilbur. This is a laugh fest with a few old fashioned frights along the way. "Ohhhhhhhhh, Chick!" This film also reworks one gag from HOLD THAT GHOST, the moving candle, this time on Dracula's coffin. Extras include a 40+ minute documentary on the making of this movie, commentary by a film historian and production pics and posters. Classic lines --
Wilbur: It's gonna cost you extra because I'm a union man and I only 16 hours.
Mr. McDougal: A union man only works eight hours!
Wilbur: I belong to two unions.

Mayberry R.F.D. - When is it going to come? 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I have all 8 seasons of the Andy Griffith Show. It is a fantastic show for the family. I would recommend it to anyone. I sure wish they would release the "Mayberry R.F.D." series (3 seasons) which followed the Andy Griffith Show.

Perfect Condition 5 out of 5 stars.

Although it took 30 days to receive it at my APO address, it was in fine shape and qreat quality. If they use priority mail, it would have been received within 1 week and not cost anymore for postage. Will certainly buy again from this vendor.

Editorial Review:

Down-home humor and an endearing cast of characters helped to make The Andy Griffith Show one of the most beloved comedies in the history of television. Introduced as a spinoff from The Danny Thomas Show in 1960, The Andy Griffith Show ran for eight seasons in prime time. Widower Andy Taylor divides his time between raising his young son, Opie, and his job as sheriff (and Justice of the Peace) of the sleepy North Carolina town, Mayberry. Andy and Opie live with Andy's Aunt Bee, who serves as a surrogate mother to both father and son. Andy's nervous cousin, Barney Fife, is his deputy sheriff whose utter incompetence is tolerated because Mayberry is virtually crime-free.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Anyone who likes Alfred Hitchcock will enjoy this set. Each one has a lot of movie stars in it along with good twists and turns to the story. I highly recommend this.

Excellent show, though the quality of the episodes is highly variable 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is one of the best TV shows in history, right up there with the original Twilight Zone. Unfortunately, unlike the Twilight Zone, the quality of its episodes is highly variable. Some season one episodes are classics, like Revenge, And So Died Riabouchinska, and There Was an Old Woman, and some are clunkers, like Safe Conduct, and Place of Shadows. All in all however, this is still one of the all time best TV shows. I only wish Hitch's alternate opening monologues that he recorded for British audiences were included as well as a special feature. The American openings made fun of our commercials; his British openings poked fun at Americans.

By the way, I have a question: What the *&^% happened to TV? Picture this, dear reader. Once upon a time, the following shows were on television DURING THE SAME TIME PERIOD!!!!: The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Romero's brilliant Tales from the Darkside, Friday the 13 the TV series, Freddy's Nightmares, War of the Worlds, The ingenious 80s revival of The Twilight Zone (of which, Harlan Ellison was the creative consultant and Wes Craven the most common director), Monsters and Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories. Saturday morning cartoons featured shows like Thundercats, The Real Ghostbusters, Gummi Bears, Muppet Babies, as well as reruns of shows like Thundar the Barbarian and Johnny Quest. Now people fawn over prurient tripe like Paris Hilton's BFF, and kids watch trash like Bratz. Again, what happened to TV? There are obvious culprits of course: MTV, reality TV, etc. It is tragic though.

The funniest moment of the series! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

For me, Season 4 has the funniest moment in the entire series. In Barney's Sidecar, Andy finally agrees to ride in the sidecar when Barney wants to take him to lunch. When Barney takes off and poor Andy is left sitting in the sidecar that has been left behind, I always laugh like the men in the show surrounding Andy! It's a priceless moment among so many great moments that make up this one of a kind series. The Andy Griffith Show's charm and humor will endure forever.

Editorial Review:

Named as "one of the greatest television shows of all time" by TV Guide, The Andy Griffith Show featured the adventures of some of the most well-known and beloved characters in television history. All 32 episodes of the classic fourth season are here. The entire gang is back, including Sheriff Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith), who does his best to raise his son Opie (Ron Howard) with the help of his beloved Aunt Bee (Francis Bavier). Deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts) and everyone’s favorite gas-station attendant Gomer (Jim Nabors) are back too, and Season 4 features the first appearance of Gomer’s immensely popular cousin, Goober (George Lindsey). So come on home to the little ol’ town that everyone remembers and re-live all your favorite moments.

Great job Shout Factory! Too bad you guys didn't do season one! 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Very good release of Adam-12's second season. I can't believe that after three years season two has finally been released. Too bad Shout Factory didn't release season one. The release of season one by Universal had cheap double-sided discs that were full of problems. I had to return my season one set three times and I still have problems with the set that I ended up with. The transfers were good, but the discs themselves had many problems. Enough talk of season one. This is about season two, right? This is a handsomely packaged, four disc set. All single-sided discs housed in two thin slipcases. I had no problems with any of the discs. Thanks for the extras, but can't someone get Marty and Kent for any sort of commentary or interview? I'm not complaining, but since both guys are still around one would think they'd be asked to contribute something. The season itself is great and I thoroughly enjoyed every episode. This is the season Reed and his wife have their baby. The boys have lots of adventures and all of the episodes are good. Highly recommended! Hopefully it won't take another three years for season three.

Editorial Review:

A spin-off of the popular NBC-TV series Dragnet that was created and produced by that series Jack Webb, Adam-12 chronicled in striking
detail and accuracy events from real LAPD cases. The show presented actual department-issue badges, vehicles and Los Angeles patrol stations, and its compelling realism gave the program a seven-season run on NBC from 1968 1975. Patrol the streets of Los Angeles circa 1969 with Officers Malloy (Martin Milner) and Reed (Kent McCord) in Season 2 of the memorable police drama Adam-12.

Bonus Features:

* Commentaries by the members of the LAPD

* Photo History Of The LAPD

* Ride Along Fact Track

* Tour Of Reed & Malloy s Training Center

* Includes instructions on how to receive a free One Adam-12, One Adam-12 ringtone.

Please, Oh PLEASE! Season Four! 5 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I never got to see this show when it aired in the 50's and 60's. I had to go to bed early. So finally seeing these magnificent episodes is like finding a buried treasure. The stories are great (they have that devious little twist at the end), the actors are top-notch, and for me, they are nostalgic time capsules of the world of my childhood days.
The first 3 seasons were just marvelous, and I devoured them with great relish, and happily looked forward to the many upcoming seasons, to be released, I thought, on DVD. Well....it's autumn (same time of year that the first three seasons were released on DVD), and Season Four ain't nowhere to be seen. Was it too good to last? Or are WE the ones this time, who are victims of a Hitchcockian plot? Is this the perverse twist at the end of OUR story?

Where is Season Four? 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Universal has a track record for releasing this TV programs slowly and in many cases, stopping early before the entire series is available on DVD. Seasons three, four and five were the best of the bunch and it appears season four is not going to be available. More sad is the lack of extras. Heck, I can Youtube and find bonus film shorts related to the series. Recorded interviews and so on. Thankfully I have The Alfred Hitchcock Presents Companion (a superb book also available on Amazon.com) that helps me learn more behind-the-scenes details I wish were on these discs. Quality of transfers was excellent and each episode is complete and uncut.

MST3000 Vol. 2 is reasonable value for money 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Hi MST3000 fans,

Volume2 of MST3000 is not bad at all.
Of the set, the shorts volume 1 is my absolute favorite. Its nothing short of brilliant.
The other three titles in the set are reasonable.
Pod People stands out as the absolute stinker of the three full lenght features.
Of course this makes for excellent MST material ;-)

Anyhow all the best,

A Perfect Collection 5 out of 5 stars.

Finally, a Volume with solely excellent episodes! Why can't Rhino do this all the time?

Angel's Revenge is beyond awesome. The plot (har har) revolves around five retarded bimbos who are attempting to be cool and teach kids not to do drugs (although it's mostly about the female stars' curves and low necklines). There's a horrible disco song, a drug dealer who can't stand up to a middle-school child, and two wonderfully embarrassing scenes with Jim Backus. This is only a drop in the bucket; this film is full of sinking stars, horrible music, retarded dialogue, Hanna-Barbera sound effects, and debatable messages. The riffs seem effortless (watch out for "Sweet tarts!" and "These people would riot for KC and the Sunshine Band!"). Even if all the episodes in this volume sucked, I would recommend it on the virtue of this movie alone.

Cave Dwellers is "faaaaabulous!" I'd tell you what the plot was, but I still don't know what it is and I've watched it over and over for the last eight years. Okay, okay, I guess there's your basic "kill the nasty man" plot... but there's so much more! Join Ator, the only man brave enough to wear moon boots (and little else) on an epic adventure to save some dull old man and his rearview mirror. Witness the epic battles between buff Ator and a giant velour snake puppet! Marvel at Thong's power to catch fish! Cringe in fear at the weird relationship between Dull Old Man and his daughter! And don't forget Thong turning into an owl and back real fast, the growling snakes, a hang-glider built in five minutes, and an uplifting song by Tom Servo about the wonders of flying with Ator.

Pod People may be retarded, but it's also going to be one of the episodes you'll find yourself watching over and over. This film seems patched together from random films; its credits feature footage from some other movie that turns out to be completely unrelated to the rest of the movie. Good luck trying to make sense of it the first time you watch it; it tries to bring four different stories together while throwing random pictures of deer into the mix. To lighten things up, there's a garbledygook song sung by the protagonists. (Thankfully, most of them die.) The aliens are adorable little furry Snuffleupagus people, one of whom kills everyone he touches (no doubt for the kicks). The best part of this movie is the kid with his distressing girly-voice and the magical Trumpy bedroom scene. Watch for the "magical" host segment featuring flying bots and a possessed banana.

Admittedly, the shorts are a letdown for me. The best ones are "Body Care and Grooming," "Cheating," and "A Date with Your Family." The others are snooze-fests. I don't recommend watching them all in a row -- the most boring ones are also the longest, and drag the whole collection down.

Don't let that turn you off; 90% of this collection is absolutely golden. It's also a great way to introduce people to MST3k. What are you waiting for? Snap it up now!
