I generally hate television. In fact haven't had any TV reception where I live for the last 15 years. A friend suggested The Sopranos which I could watch on DVD. What a great experience that was. I'm serious, it has qualities of being the Shakespeare of our time. So I came across WEEDS in hopes of more great, daring programing. After reading several reviews I ran right out to buy Season One. Well, I tapped a few buttons and ordered it. What a fine concept! When you measure up the harm alcohol does to our society, murder, domestic violence, car crashes...I thought: SHOWTIME good for you!! A single mother surviving off of selling grass. And please, let's not lump all the drugs together, grass is fine and probably helps lots of people in our pressure cooker age. But this show...I found the lead actress SO unlikable! She reminded me of my worst girlfriends. So negative. Those ugly stares and for some reason they decided they needed to move her from one crisis to another. Sure, it's TV, I understand. Sopranos moved fast and had its share. But PLEASE, so many of the problems are so stupid! So improbable. So shallow. Maybe it is just me. Maybe I read too much and books have ruined it for me. Maybe my loathing for cheap TV sit-coms is too great. I thought the writing was plain awful! This writing is not from a person or people who have been out in life. These are from people that have spent 200,000 cooking their brains with other TV shows and trying to build concepts on balloney. The stereotype black family with the drive-by shooting, these people crazy-glued to that kitchen table. And what about the sex on the hood of the other dealer's car? The younger son is great and has a future. I think if you want something with depth, with intelligence, with some vision as in Fellini films (the early ones) and great stories of the human condition with humor mixed with angst, and tragedy blended with lust..forget it! This series is about as shallow as they come. Why did I watch it? I paid for it and I just kept hoping it would get better. It didn't. I'd say that three out of five people would feel about this show as I do. Two out of those five would never buy it. And nine out of ten of those like me that bought and watched and hated it would never go to the trouble to write a review. Bare with me, I'm just trying to understand how a show that is so bad could have so many good reviews and sucker people like me into buying it. All cast members required to log-on and sing praises? Something people are smoking? Search me!

We have all of the DVDs - our only regret is that the Mork show was only on tv for a few seasons. Robin William in his early days - extremely funny from the beginning and Pam Dauber is wonderful as Mindy too!

I really enjoyed watching this now as an adult, more so than when I was a teenager. I was able to catch a lot of things I didn't get back then, and needless to say that this is one zany show. Robin Williams was brilliant and there couldn't be a better counterpart than Pam Dawber to handle the crazyness in her own sweetness. I particularly enjoyed the episodes featuring Exodur (did I spell that right?). Only Mork would understand Exodur's mission so well! The sound and overall quality of the DVD is excellent and my recomendation goes to both the old Mork & Mindy's fans as well as the upcoming generation. This is truly good entertainment.

Taking place between the second and third installments of the Terminator film franchise, this series follows the lives of azzkickin' Sarah Connor as she tries to keep her young son alive long enough to grow up into the leader of the human rebellion.
Though at first I did not like Lena Headly as Sarah...she grew on me, and has proven herself in the roll. The friendly terminator "Cameron" played by Summer Gleu is magically babe-0-licious. The only real detraction for me was The actor who played John, and the way the character was written, but as the season progressed the Character became less emo and more of what one could imagine John would be.
I loved the first season...have watched it several times..and I can't wait for the secound season set.
..and just fyi..I have never purchased a television show season set before this one..and this one is worth every cent!

THE HOMECOMING was probably the first Christmas movie, apart from A Charlie Brown Christmas, that I can recall watching as a child. For nostalgia alone, I love this movie, but watching it as an adult, I am always struck by the depth of Patricia Neal's performance as Olivia Walton, and Richard Thomas as John Boy. Also, I always loved Cleavon Little as Rev. Hawthorne Dooley (he died far too young).
The only thing that ever bothered me about the movie is the hairstyles --the younger boys' are a little too 1970's. Aside from that, I think the producers really caught something of the Depression era.
This is a classic Christmas story, and a classic television presentation -- the kind of television that should be made, but just isn't anymore. Just compare THE HOMECOMING with something of recent Christmas vintage, like, Drake & Josh's Christmas movie on Nickelodeon, and you will see how far standards have fallen. If producers would only concentrate on quality productions instead of fads and giving airtime to teenybopper stars, we wouldn't all have to rely on DVDs so much!

Gilmore Girls is a nice story of a Mother and Daughter in a small town in Conn. It is fun and great for ages 10yrs and up. Both Mother's and Daughter's will enjoy the funny adventures.

Can it be the Gilmore Girls if the Gilmore girls aren't together? At the end of Season 5, Rory dropped out of Yale and moved into Emily and Richard's poolhouse -- decisions that broke Lorelai's heart. That's handy, because one half of that heart can be deliriously happy with the big new step in her love affair with Luke. Meanwhile, the other half grieves, and it seems everyone in town wants mother and daughter to reunite. But it may take an unexpected out-of-towner to make it happen. Of course, there's much more: Lane gets a surprise that leaves her reeling with joy. Luke gets a surprise that may send the Luke-and-Lorelai relationship reeling. What's no surprise is the snappy, wish-I'd-said-that Gilmore dialogue, knowing humor and insightful storytelling fans adore. Season 6 starts now!

I stumbled on an episode of this show and have been hooked ever since. The characters are down to earth and loyal to each other, which is not something you see in the drama-filled reality series that television is so fond of lately. I have bought all three seasons and am patiently waiting for season 4 to come out on DVD and season 5 to start! It's an addiction, but a healthy one:).

Season 3 part 2 is awesome. I had season 1 and 2, so decided to buy the missing ones. Season 3 part 1 kind of let me down as it was not nearly as witty as season 2, which left me on a high note. Luckily Season 3 part 2 (effectively season 4) is as good as season 2. Ari Gold, who is really the center piece of this series has some great lines, the rest of the characters grow in their own areas and start having personalities of their own which makes the series that more enjoyable. This is a great buy and will leave you craving for season 4.

In the early 90's I remember having an hour before going to work on the night shift. My two daughters would be put down for a nap prior to this show being broadcasted. There are a lot of intimate memories for me and my wife during these times if you know what I mean!Now both my girls are off to college. It's like starting over where we left off 20 years ago ! Some times it is good to go back and visualize the past.

It's amazing, I guess the writers figured by episode 8 that the Peter Scottson character was too like-able and elicited too much sympathy that the writers intentionally wrote him in to be a racist and vindictive on the fly. It wasn't cool and didn't flow well. I supposed they miscast him with Martin Donovan from the start, an inherently like-able actor. It was about episode 8 that I wanted something very bad to happen to Nancy and her entire sanctimonious and whiny family. None of them are good people and they seem less interesting because of it.
