This crime show has a large cast and every character is extremely well-developed. No weak links in this cast! The writers create the drama and the cast delivers a great product.

I won't rehash how great the series is with its wonderful character in Chief Brenda Johnson. She's smart, and quirky, comes across as a real person who could be found in my community (minus the Southern drawl as that's not common in my area).
She has an unusual style of dealing with colleagues and suspects. She finds a way to close a case even when evidence isn't enough to convict a suspect. Despite being powerful in her career, she stumbles in her personal life though she's got a great guy in Fritz Howard, an FBI agent who is also an asset to her cases when she needs FBI info. No matter what, she'll always say "Please" and "Thank you."
I love the camaraderie with her staff. Flynn and Provenza provide the comic relief. Daniels and Gabriel add balance with their more conservative styles. It's also lovely that Gabriel has a masters degree and an uncanny ability to navigate political waters of LAPD. Tao, Buzz, Taylor, and Pope complete the diverse picture.
The only disappointment comes in that the extras aren't captioned or subtitled. Unfortunately, it's hit or miss for most DVDs. Some have it and some don't. This one doesn't (for all three seasons. Maybe they'll fix it in Season 4, but I am not expecting it).

This is perhaps the most compelling and creative series created by HBO. When you are watching it actually feels like you are visiting Ancient Rome. The direction, music and the acting are top notch. All of the actors are outstanding. Probably the most accurate piece ever made on Ancient Rome. This is just not entertainment it is much more than that. The dirty politics, the lifestyles, romance, history, war....Everything is there. This an Unbelievable achievement by HBO. Too bad it was cut too short. Even for its 2 seasons it is well worth buying this series. Highly Recommended!

The first season is brilliant. And it needed an HBO to do the topic justice. You need the freedom to depict sex and violence clearly, or theres no point to any of it. The Rome series depicts as much as can be expected in terms of realism; any more graphic, and it might be a turn-off. I dont think anyone really wants to see the kinds of things that actually happened in depth. The way some were forced to die is too ghastly to dwell upon.

Big fan of the stooges. Added this little baby to my growing collection of this version of the stooge shorts. This is a wonderful collection to buy for any stooge lover out there. So far...so good.

The fourth chronological collection shows Moe, Larry and Curly at their best with the twenty-one shorts from 1943 to 1945. In many ways, the shorts are transitional, as ill-health has begun to take its toll on Curly. Problems with high-blood pressure and other medical issues, including a series of mini-strokes that worsened in 1946 are evident in the later shorts in the collection. Even in the classic, "Micro-Phonies," one of their best shorts, shows Curly at just slightly less manic and physically frantic as those of just a year or two earlier. Still, with a few exceptions, these two- reelers show the comedy team at their slapstick best.
Before commenting on the films themselves, it is important to note that Sony has done a fine job in restoring the shorts. Gone are the scratches and out-of-focus scenes, as well as the crudely edited offerings previously shown on TV. Picture and sound are excellent; one can imagine the enjoyment experienced in theaters when these classics first appeared onscreen.
Many of these shorts are not seen today on television. During the war years, plots revolved around antics against Nazis and "Japs" in ways now considered to be politically incorrect. In particular, "The Yokes on Me" features the Stooges efforts to capture three Japanese "escapees" from a relocation camp. Although the physical comedy is typical stooge slapstick, the idea that US Citizens were imprisoned in WWII remains repugnant. Still, the short reflects the (unfortunate) prevailing attitude of the times. Other shorts, such as "No Dough Boys" are more innocuous, parodying stereotypes in more cartoonish "over-the-top" ways.
"They Stooge to Conga" is the first of the 1943 shorts and is considered to be the most violent of the shorts. Even slapstick devotees cringe when Curly impales his telephone pole climbing spike in Moe's eye, ear and skull. I would agree that is over the top, but it is like a car wreck: one feels compelled to watch. Look for Dudley Dickerson, the gifted African-American character actor, whose brilliant comedy antics are sadly seen as too-stereotypical for today's audiences. The Stooges used him in a number of their comedies. Given the nature of the times, his performances are physically inspired pieces of slapstick.
"Back from the Front", released later in 1943, features Moe's third impersonation of Hitler. The short takes place on the S.S. Schickelgruber and features non-stop mayhem. The stooges look interesting in their full beards.
"Micro-Phonies" is one of my favorite Stooge shorts. Although Curly's physical mannerisms have been slowed by his medical difficulties, facial expressions and precision mimicking of "The Voice of Spring" are priceless. Together with Moe and Larry, he offers musical interpretations of several classics that makes one wish that the Stooges had done more with song and dance in their comedies.
Like all of the shorts, viewers have their preferences. Still, most of those in this volume are entertaining, providing laughs some 60-plus years after their original release.

I'm just gonna break this down into some simple questions:
*****Is this show any good?*****
This new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA series is phenomenal. I really enjoyed the original series that was released in the late '70s, but the new Sci-Fi show is some of the finest TV around. The action sequences are gritty and exciting. The cast & performances are excellent, with few actors taking a while to find their niche. The strongest & weakest aspect is the writing. There are episodes of dramatic brilliance, which propel this show to greatness. There are a few small patches where the series meanders a bit, but even when BSG isn't at the top of its game, it's playing for keeps. In the end, the show constantly evolves its characters and story.
*****Amazon advertises a "Season 3.0"; Where is 3.5?*****
There is no such thing as Season 3.5. Basically, Amazon screwed up. This exclusive offer will include the complete third season. Seasons Two and Four are split into two separate box sets. The bottom line is this: you will get every BATTLESTAR GALACTICA DVD released to date - No More, No Less.
*****What's the deal with RAZOR?*****
This 2-hour made-for-TV feature first aired, and was released on DVD, in November 2007. It takes place between Seasons Two and Three. Oddly enough, RAZOR will be included with the Season 4.0 DVD in January 2009. Either way, you'll get the original version that aired on TV, as well as the longer Unrated Cut.
*****Is this a good price?*****
As of this writing, Amazon is listing this exclusive packaging for $147. If the price doesn't change, then this will save you about 30 dollars. Because RAZOR will be included in the Season 4.0 DVD in January, collectors will only save about $15. In the end, this is a good price as long as it doesn't change.
*****So, should I buy it?*****
Only if you don't own any of the DVDs included in this exclusive offer. There is no additional bonus content. And again, RAZOR will come for free in a few months. However, to Amazon's defense, these DVDs are very sturdy packages. The discs are held in slim cases, which means buyers will have a decent chance of getting a non-damaged DVD in the mail.
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is a great series. It belongs on the shelf of any DVD collector. It's more of a war drama than a science fiction, allowing for both genres to explore new depths. Fans who love TV series with continuity and evolving characters & plot will get into this. In fact, I'd encourage those who don't watch TV or science fiction to check this out. You have no idea what you're in for. This show will end by the summer of 2009. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is so addicting, you'll be finished by the Season 4.5 premiere.

I did not have high hopes for this drama, as most military dramas seem to fall short. However, this season had great plot lines (both with the military men, and their wives at home). There was a ton of military action, but enough personal drama to make it fun for both sexes to watch. The characters are great (and perfect for their roles). I wound up buying this for my father because I liked it so much. Enjoy!

The Amazon.com editorial review hit it on the head. I am a woman, and I love this show. It is exciting, interesting, and thought-provoking; but the wives' storyline is just painful.
I believe that it's due to a combination of poor writing for the women's characters and bad acting. Most notably bad is the one having an affair with the colonel (can't think of her name, that's how forgettable she is). The actress playing Molly Blane, who is normally good, is horrible in this role. The best acting performance is for Mrs. Brown, but she needs to have better scripts.
The most interesting parts are those when the men are on their missions. The male performers are all very good actors. If I were the writers, I would get rid of the colonel's mistress and Molly Blane characters; and replace them with better actresses. And give Mrs. Brown better material to work with. If they do this, it can become a 5-star classic.

I have to say I enjoyed this Hulk movie up until the last fight sequence - which seemed to drag on and on and made me hit the fast forward button through sections of it without feeling I lost anything by it. I had to smile at the homage references to the Hulk TV series. The opening section of the movie in the Brazilian slums was a nice touch - it was certainly a different setting for a movie like this.
For me in many ways it was the final scenes of this movie that were the most interesting, and if you enjoyed Iron Man you should pick up this movie for that alone. I've given this review three stars because of the over-extended fight sequence at the end of it (shades of Spider Man 3!) and the cgi which disappointed me a little as they seem to have relied on it to make up for the lack of character relationships (one of the highlights of the TV series), but if there is a sequel to this movie I'll watch it on DVD if nothing else.

This tape is pretty good but the instructions are quick. Sometimes they aren't videoing what you should be doing at the moment so it takes longer to catch on what is going on with the feet. The challenge part especially--you get no instructions--just follow.

There is essentially no instruction in the dance steps - just expected to do it. Too fast-paced for anyone to catch on by watching unless they maybe watch it a few dozen times in slow motion. I will never do it again. There are much much better work-out DVD's available.

This DVD was just so-so. There were a few skits that were funny, but the physical comedy thing wore on me. His shtick was that he was morbidly obese, which is not funny. I wish I had never bought it. It was a waste of money and a waste of my time.

I really don't like this "best of" because I can't stand that they included clips and montages instead of the entire skit at times. The skits that Farley was in were absolutely hilarious, and you'll want to watch the entire thing but you won't be able to on this DVD. I'm a huge fan of Farley and just thought that this collection was only ok, maybe for someone who likes Farley and just wants a basic reminder of how funny he was. I wish a longer and more complete SNL Best Of would come out. As somebody said earlier a volume 2 would be great, especially if the skits weren't dissected so much. It reminds me of an E special of best of SNL, where they only show 5 seconds of the skit they say is great.

The second I saw this product at the super sale price of $123 for EVERY SINGLE SEASON / EPISODE of X-Files, I absolutely flipped out and ordered it right there on the spot. I grew up watching X-files, however rarely buy box sets because they are SO expensive. The price was phenomenal, and this box set is the absolute coolest thing. No seriously. COOLEST thing, ever! It comes with every season 1-9 in individually packaged hard cover "books" where you flip the pages for each disk. It also includes loads of deleted scenes, the first X-Files movie, a pull out drawer with a poster, original artwork cards, a cartoon X-files comic book, etc, etc! My boyfriend was SO SO SO SO SO jealous when I opened the box and started pulling all the stuff out!
Obviously if you own a few sets of this show, don't bother getting it since you'll just be getting the same stuff, but if you want to own a great series in a great box (with magnets to keep it closed!) then this is the thing to buy.
I saw a lot of comments about the box falling apart. I don't know how their boxes fell apart since mine came very sturdy "cardboard" like, it's very stiff. I mean i've only had it for 3 days now, so I guess only time can tell, but the way i've moved it around and felt it, the only way this box is falling apart is if you're abusing it in some way.
I also saw comments about scratched disks because of the cardboard disk holders, mine had no such issues.
