Good quality--no fingerprints. Laughs for all ages. 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

For those of you who, like me, wondered if this item is a knock-off item or a legitimately produced item. It is a high quality genuine production. I just purchased this item for Christmas. So far I've only examined seasons one through three, but they're all in immaculate condition. I found no fingerprints (as an another reviewer wrote) and I've had no issues with the DVD's skipping or not playing correctly.

For those of you who wonder if you'll still laugh at this older show...My wife, 80+ year old father and my 10 year-old son are all enjoying and laughing with these. (So far seasons 1 and 2 are funnier than season 3 for us.)

This is a program that the whole family can watch together...and each episode is less than 30 minutes so it doesn't consume the whole evening.

Simpsons Christmas Present 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought this present for my husband a few days before Christmas and didn't use express shipping. I wasn't sure if it would come in time, but arrived on Christmas Eve. Thanks, he enjoyed the present and is now up to date on all the seasons.

Another box o'fun 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

It'd be easy enough to praise the boxed set of The Simpsons - Season Nine if there were just the episodes themselves to consider. But as with previous seasons, there is a lot more to enjoy.

Let's start with the box itself: each of the four discs look like a mock LP, with such names as Cowabunga Records and Atomic Records (with three-eyed fish logo). Then there are the six postcards, each with different art, including parodies of the album covers for Abbey Road and Nevermind. The music theme continues in the program booklet which includes ads for a Disco Stu CD and King Toot's Music Store.

Then there are the episodes. I won't review them all, but a few of note include the season premiere episode, "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson" which pokes fun at the Big Apple; this episode would be temporarily put out of circulation after 9/11 due to its depiction of the World Trade Center. In "Lisa's Sax", we learn how Lisa got her sax and Bart got his attitude. In "The Joy of Sect", the family joins a UFO cult. "Girly Edition" satirizes TV news when Bart's shallow human interest stories trump Lisa's fact-filled news. "Trash of the Titans" (the 200th episode) features Steve Martin and U2 and has Homer becoming Sanitation Commissioner; other guest stars this season include Jay Leno, Brendan Fraser, Martin Sheen, Joe Namath, Jim Varney, Helen Hunt, Bob Denver, Alex Trebek and Phil Hartman.

There's a reason that the Simpsons have lasted nearly 20 years, namely because it's so well-written. Even the so-so episodes are better than most comedies at their best. But this season has all good-to-great episodes, each with commentary. There are also plenty of deleted scenes and a few other extras. If you're a Simpsons fan, this set is a delight that you must own.

Two Seperate Packages 4 out of 5 stars.

Personally, this is the beginning of the flourishing of the careers of all those crazy guys (except for Ari). What I don't fully understand is how they would sell this season in two parts like that. To make more money? Still, this is a great addition to a wonderful series.

clever and funny 5 out of 5 stars.

My husband and I ration episodes because we enjoy this show so much. The characters (esp. Drama and Turtle) are likable and the stories are witty.

I love this show! 5 out of 5 stars.

I don't have HBO but I love this show. I bought a bunch of the DVD's after I gave birth to my daughter and needed something to watch while she was sleeping/nursing. It reminds me of Sex in the City in some ways, except more for guys but I simply adore Ari, one of the main characters. I love this show.

Amazing final season 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This was one of the best TV series ever. If you like comedy, politics, and drama, you should check this out. I have the entire series on DVD and I cannot tell you how many times I've watched it. This series has massive replayability so it's worth the buy. It is also not "dumbed down" so they deal with a lot of hot-button topics and you can actually learn a little of how the government actually works and how cutthroat life is like in Washington, D.C.

The first few seasons and the last two seasons are the best. There are a good deal of special features and this season was amazing. I was so sad when the last episode aired. It has a liberal bent so if you are conservative you may not like this show as much as someone who is more liberal. That said, I still high recommend this series and this first season to anyone and everyone.

Editorial Review:

The seventh season of the West Wing chronicles the transition between the administration of President Josiah 'Jed' Bartlet and the race for the new presidency between Congressman Mathew Vincente Santos of Houston, Texas and Senator Arnold Vinick of California. The season includes the live episode of "The Debate" and ends with a new administration in the West Wing.

Editorial Review:

Welcome back to the Harpers' Malibu beach house, home to one of the funniest TV comedy hits in a long, long time. Bachelor Charlie's trying (but not very hard) to remember the name of the girl currently taking a shower upstairs. And Alan, Charlie's divorced, uptight brother, who's proud to have been named the San Fernando Valley's Chiropractor of the Year. And Jake, Alan's 11-year-old son, who's happiest with a juice box in one hand and the TV remote in the other. After a year of living together, the guys have figured out how two and a half men equal one family. Sort of. But there are plenty of hilariously rough spots along the way. And you'll share them all in this 4-disc collection that includes all 24 episodes of the series' smart and sparkling second season.

Loved the show the first season and there was no let down this season. I would have liked more original material however it was still as funny as ever.

The smartest show this side of South Park 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love this show. It's a breath of fresh air, and manages to make the viewer think as well as laugh. BET is a horrible blight on society, and this show is the only one to make the point. I have to give Aaron credit for taking shots at BET, mindless of the consequences. Great show. I hope it continues for many seasons, like South Park. A move to Comedy Central would seem to be a better place for the show.

To bleep or not to bleep... 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

First of all, I absolutely love Robot Chicken.

However, the Season 2 DVD set let me down in one way: the only option was uncensored. I found myself not laughing as much. I'm not sure why exactly, but I at least find the censored version to be more entertaining. Hearing the bleeps instead of the words makes me laugh more for some reason. For making uncensored the only option, I had to take away a star, which is a sad thing for me.

Just a little more explanation: It would have been nice if there were a way to have some sort of setting to turn the bleeps on or off, that way those who prefer it uncensored have it and those who prefer it censored have it as well. I can't imagine it would be THAT hard.

That should not stop you from enjoying this though. For any Robot Chicken fan, this is really great to have. More of the greatness from Season 1, and something I have watched many times and will watch many times in the future.

South Park Season Eleven Is Great 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

South Park season eleven is a great season of the show. It contains great episodes and the only time they weren't of classic status was in Lice Capades. The episodes included in this set are:

With Apologies To Jesse Jackson- Randy solves the wheel of fortune puzzle with the N word as he comes to understand why being classified by a word is annoying when it reminds you of a past you want to forget. (People who annoy you.)

Cartman Sucks- Cartman gets Butter's sent to gay counselling camp as he tries to stop Kyle from showing the class provocative pictures of him. (Eric Cartman's mother called, she found the photo's)

Lice Capades- A slower episode where the boys lice symbolize the annoyance we are as inhabitants to the planet. (Smart idea, poor execution)

The Snuke- Hilary Clinton is under attack as Cartman plays the part of Jack Bauer in a 24 spoof. (The Snuke is in her Sn*tch)

Fantastic Easter Special- Stan learns why we paint easter eggs in a Da Vinci Code Spoof. (Peeps!)

D-Yikes- Mrs. Garrison finds a club for others like her but when Persians want to take over it turns into a '300' standoff. (Scissor me timbers).

Night Of The Living Homeless- Great episode where homeless people play the part of zombies. (Does anyone have any change?)

Le Petite Tourette- Cartman pretends to have Tourette's syndrome in an attempt to say whatever he wants. (P*ss! In your mouth!)

More Crap- Randy breaks the world record for biggest crap until Bono steps in as the world's biggest piece of crap.(This show is emmy winning).

Imaginationland I,II,III- The boys finally hit on the Iraq war in the most intelligent and entertaining thing they have done so far. Man Bear Pig, Al Gore and the Critterland Christmas Critter's all make appearances as well as Alien, Santa, Luke Skywalker and Jason Voorhies. (The terrorists are attacking our imaginations!)

Guitar Queer-o- Stan and Kyle want to be rock stars but the life may be too difficult. (The best use of in show product advertisment since Make Love, Not Warcraft)

The List- The girl's ranking of the boys looks finds them all reacting different ways in a more low profile still entertaining episode. (Burn it down, burn it down to the gwound.)

The set is the same as all the previous ones with well chosen art work and safe DVD storage with easy access and convenient episode listings/descriptions on the box foldouts. Other than previews the only special features that have been on South Park sets recently are Matt and Trey giving mini-commentaries which are the most honest and entertaining commentaries around despite being under five minutes each.

I loved this season, I feel it is has reached a new plateau for the series and hit a new stride creatively. South Park as a concept is a series that is constantly not only changing itself but evolving to keep current. The first two seasons were one thing then season three started it in a new direction through the foruth and fifth seasons. Then season six was similar to season eleven in that for me it hit a new stride and was near perfect beginning to end. The trend of the sixth season grew through the seventh and season eight was another new height for the series. The ninth season started it on a new track through the award winning tenth season to season eleven which for me is another solid season beginning to end (despite Lice Capades which had funny moments but didn't hold my attention, a few more moments of the boys might have fixed this).

The recent South Park seasons have been better in the tail end or second run of episodes. I think since episodes are split up in runs from March to May and then September/October to December this is probably because they have more time over the summer to workout idea's ahead of time and improve what they didn't like looking back on the first half.

The twelth season is coming out on DVD/Blu-Ray soon and it's not as great as season eleven overall but it is again the series moving in a new evolutionary direction and I look forward to seeing where it will be going next. If season eleven is a new highpoint then season twelve is a more than entertaining and satirical enough passtime until the show reaches it's next creative plateau. Here's hoping it won't fall like Simpsons and Family guy did.
