Blue Planet 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This product, similar to the Planet Earth series, provides ten one-hour long episodes of well-done photography and information about the sea life on earth. I've also enjoyed the special features of how BBC filmed these episodes and the planning behind each one. I love to travel and this series has taken me to different parts of the world to see its beauty and uniqueness. It's a relaxing end-of-the-day activity at my house!

Very good salesman. Keeps in constant communication with his buyers, and responds immediately to any messages left him. Very focused on quality service. The delivery was excellent, and his prices are the most reasonable on any competitive market.

Fantastic 5 out of 5 stars.

If you are a nature lover then this is one of the best ever. The other best movies in recent years are the Planet Earth series (by the same people) and the show Winged Migration. Try it you will love it.

BSG3 is the finest season of TV EVER 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

From the first part to the end, season 3 is extraordinary TV. The new home followed by the invasion was suspenseful, difficult, intriguing and just about any other superlative you can throw at it. Col Tigh, Roslin, Chief, Starbuck are all in top form for this season. Lee Adama, while not in top physical form, nonetheless plays a key role as well. From the ultrahot #6 to the other cylons we've all known to love and hate, the action and drama are both equally on display. I know I will see this whole series again in the near future but season 3 will always be the best one.

Fell Short of Season 2's Magnificence - Still Great 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I watched Battlestar Galactica differently than most people did. I dislike commercials, and I dislike long delays in between storylines. So what I did was wait to even start watching Battlestar Galactica until season 3 was complete - knowing at that point that season 4 was going to be the last season produced - and then I got all three seasons in their entirety and watched them pretty much start to end in a row. This meant I could see all the tiny references between shows and seasons clearly (since I literally watched them back-to-back-to-back). It also meant I had extremely high expectations going into the process because of all the loquacious praise being sung about this series.

I was let down by season 1. This season, like many first seasons, promoted stereotypical characters to help viewers differentiate between them. I was then blown away by season 2. The characters, their roots firmly established, now had the leeway to become "more human", to explore their failings, to become lived in and realistic. The actors had "owned" their characters now, and the writers had dispensed with all the introductory junk necessary in a show's launch. Everything shone.

I was really hoping that season three would then take off from there, to explore metaphysical ideas, to delve into the characters' souls, to reach new levels of meaning and development. I suppose the problem here was that I saw the progression from season 1 to season 2 and thought it was a steady up-ramp :) Like most things in life, what it really meant was that they had hit their stride, and would now maintain it. Or, as with when you sing a certain note, because they kept singing that same note, it began to sound a bit flat.

I do still really enjoy the series. The actors are great. The dialogue is often great! I think the visual effects teams do a miraculous job and some of the shots of space combat they pull off are a sheer pleasure to watch. There are many times over the seasons that I've just stared in awe at a series of space flight images. I love space combat :)

But that all being said, instead of pushing the envelope further, it is very much as if the writers started to fall into stereotypical storylines. We have a number of "let us focus on character XYZZY and learn more about their past" episodes. We have some storylines that are so predictable that I was reciting dialogue along with the character, knowing what they were going to say. It was almost as if some episodes were little "mini stories" that had little bearing on the actual goings on.

The trial of a certain character dragged on far too long. There are more than enough Law & Order type shows already out there if that was what someone wanted to watch. It took away from the intensity that is a hallmark with Battlestar Galactica.

And then we have the "Episode that changed everything".

I won't give away any spoilers here, but suffice it to say that when you listen to the commentary track and see both versions of this specific episode, you'll hear from the commentary personnel just how serious the fallout was to this particular episode. I almost wonder if the reaction to the episode had to do with them deciding to end the season after season 4 was done. I know in my household that this episode caused a lot of ripples, of serious discussions. Some watchers here lost most of their interest in BG after that episode.

So to summarize - yes, I definitely watched it through, I enjoyed watching it, I listened to all the commentaries and enjoyed the multiple versions. I went right through from start to end. But I wish it had been more like season 2, with that level of intensity and interconnectedness and meaning. I have high hopes that they'll rekindle that energy and have season 4 go out with a mind blowing experience.

Sharp dialogue 5 out of 5 stars.

I love the sharp wit of, not just house, but all the characters. Only series I've bought myself and will buy all the seasons when I can get for a decent price.

Getting a little boring 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love House the charecter, but the story lines are getting old. Seems like the same show over and over again. It is also time for a change as Cameron, Chase and Foreman are getting annoying.

The "House Party" continues! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

As dramatic, charismatic, and unpredictable as always, House is back for its third season. More bizarre but completely logical diagnoses, more deep insight into the presence that is House, more semi-legal procedures, sharp wit, and cane-antics! If you watched season 1 and 2, there is no more reason need be said to continue your collection. If you've not, go back to the first season and purchase it before returning here. Nothing more need be said.

One of my favorite seasons! 5 out of 5 stars.

The many cases throughout this season further look into the mentality of House and his colleagues. Season Three finishes off with a very dramatic and suspensful 2-part finale.

Maybe the best season... 5 out of 5 stars.

This one probably has the most laughs of any of them. I really like season 6, but this is close.

I also think the DVD menu is the easiest to use on this set. It flows much better and is layed out much better. I give it 5 out of 5. If you liked Will and Grace, you gotta own this.

Outstanding 5 out of 5 stars.

The Product came in excellent shape, no dents or scratches and I loved watching every single last episode!!!!! ;)

So Long, Farewell 5 out of 5 stars.

I have not completed the entire season as yet, but It is all slowly coming to an end. I missed a few episodes when it was still on air, so it is nice to wrap up the "WaG" series with all consecutive episodes. The live episodes are sure to give you an extra laugh, as the cast desperately tries not to laugh and screw up their lines on camera.
All in all, It has been 8 wonderful seasons, and sadly all good things must come to an end.

No the best season 2 out of 5 stars.

This was a great show, but not this season, I felt it was a little boring and it didn't have the hillarious comments of Karen an Rosario (which was sick so she didn't appear in all the episodes) I'm glad the series is over, before all fans stopped seeing it.

Editorial Review:

Weeds: Season Three continues the dark line of comedy that emerged in the previous season for this Showtime series. The story picks up exactly where it left off, with Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) faced with a half-dozen guns pointing at her in her own kitchen, while an Armenian gang and Nancy's buyer, U-Turn (Page Kennedy), both demand she turn over her entire stash of marijuana (worth several hundred thousand dollars). Problem is, the pot is in the trunk of on-again, off-again friend Celia (Elizabeth Perkins), whose car has been stolen by Nancy's oldest son, Silas (Hunter Parrish). Silas wants in on mom's business, but his timing couldn't be worse as Celia and a police officer show up to reclaim the car while Nancy is still at gunpoint. The fallout from all this is that Nancy ends up working for U-Turn to repay her debt to him, a dangerous relationship that sends Nancy down a rabbit hole of underworld threats and violence. Meanwhile, Celia gets booted out of her home by her husband and becomes estranged from her young daughter, Isabelle (Allie Grant), who insists she's a lesbian. Celia rebounds a bit when a corrupt developer (Matthew Modine) gives her a house in exchange for her support on city council for one of his schemes. That goes wrong, too, when Celia allows Nancy, Doug (Kevin Nealon), and Conrad (Romany Malco), all of whom go into business after U-Turn stops being a problem, to put their endangered trove of marijuana plants in her house. Nancy's other son, Shane (Alexander Gould), claims he can see and talk to the ghost of Nancy's late husband, and Nancy's brother-in-law Andy (Justin Kirk) goes AWOL from the U.S. Army after his comrade is deliberately killed in an experimental missile test. As always, it's one thing after another on Weeds, and the blend of humor and suspense is uniquely compelling. Parker and the rest of the cast pull off some pretty surreal situations with great credibility. The show's lead star, particularly, can carry moments of blended terror and comedy: one of the season's most memorable moments finds Nancy forced to put on a sexy dance for a group of drug dealers in order to pick up a package U-Turn requires. The scene is humiliating, frightening, sexy, and comical all at once. Few actresses could have pulled it off, but Parker does. --Tom Keogh

Gilmore Girls Rock 4 out of 5 stars.

Heard good things about Gimore Girls and then found season one on sale at £13.99 so thought why not try it. Season one hooked me and I had to buy more. During my holiday at the end of July untill the second week of August I watched every episode of every season . It only took that long as I had to order two seasons from America.
Season 5 carried on the legacy of season 4 I was not dissapointed with my purchase. Lorelai and luke , Rory and Yale , Gilmore Girls and Gilmore parents things moved on and I wanted to know where they were going each episode drew me into the next the banta was there as always and the fast talking .
Still need to know how they can afford all that food and Luke never takes and money from them .

love the gilmore girls! 5 out of 5 stars.

London Sexy Zombie Police Story Continuing Fight 3 out of 5 stars.
2 of 6 people found this review helpful.

A continuing modern TV story of "good zombies" of London-based Torchwood police force team fighting aliens and other supernatural creatures accomplishes to date five parts, of which this Second Season is less impressive than the First.

As accustomed in nowadays visual works, sex possesses a particular part in actions: a Torchwood leader is a homosexual character and some other team members are bi-sexual.

You can do alot with a stopwatch 5 out of 5 stars.

Good character development, for the Sci-Fi buffs only...while funny and offbeat most of the time it has its serious side. Great blown up on my projector screen, more adult than Doctor Who but quirky enough for the Doctors fans to move on to...a hybrid between Millennium, Matrix a smidge of Baron Von Munchausen!

Dancing with the Stars Cardio 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Not really cardio, I consider myself pretty active, I jog and play tennis and I wanted a CARDIO workout and that is not what I got.

Harder than I ever thought it would be! 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

When I watch Dancing with the Stars on TV, I admire how quickly the celebrities learn the steps and sometimes multiple dances in a week. I didn't think learning the samba or mambo would be so challenging. I didn't find the instructors really knew how to lead an exercize video. You don't get enough warning when it comes to the steps and it is hard to be motivated by their voices because they are reading off of cards or something.

I also didn't find this to be a great cardio workout. It was fun but I'm kind of disappointed I bought it.

Good Moves 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This is good exercise and stretching but I am curious as to why Cheryl and female dancers are wearing heels and sexy outfits during the dances [they don't in stretching]; I certainly don't exercise that way :-)

Great way to loose weight 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a very strenuous work out. It you have bad knees you might want to skip the samba and the salsa. The other two are more comfortable for me. I love to dance and this is a fun way to exercise.

How Much Can the Plot Thicken 5 out of 5 stars.

"Lost" is the most shameless cliff-hanger series I've ever seen, which is part of the reason I love it! The DVD package is wonderful, with lots of commentary tracks, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and plenty of Easter eggs. I was not disappointed.

Lost Season 3 Seriously off its A-Game 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

SPOILER ALERT. I seem to be one of few people who thought that Lost Season 2 was the strongest yet. Season 2 is everything that Season 3 isn't: Carefully plotted, secrets revealed at the right times and with the right amount of impact, storyline well paced, and a sense of confidence in where the story was headed. By the end of Season 2, I was intrigued.

That all ended in the first minutes of Season 3, where we discover instantly that the Island isn't really removed from the rest of civilization the way we thought, and all the mystery and menace of "the Others" simply evaporates. By Episode 3 I found myself simply not caring about any of the characters or their schizophrenic decision-making. This persisted throughout the remainder of the season with the exception of a tense standoff over Ben's spinal surgery. In general, major events become laughable, the dialogue devolves into something bordering cheap and hoaky, tense situations are poorly constructed, and characters begin making decisions not because they make sense, but because they conveniently advance the plot.

An excessive amount of time is dedicated to flashbacks, many of them utterly pointless. The insertion of the back-story on Nikki and Paulo is particularly irrelevant. If I wanted to watch a show about a B-Movie actress, a con heist gone awry, or a love affair on the Sydney riviera, I wouldn't turn to Lost for my fix. Intense stand-offs between key characters in pivotal moments are sloppy and often make no sense considering the circumstances. The key players stop behaving in ways we would expect them to based on our previous understanding of their characters, and it isn't intentional. The use of coincidence gets more extreme than ever, to the point of inducing eye-rolling rather than surprise or fascination.

A sense that there's a good explanation for all the coincidence rapidly diminishes as Season 3 progresses. More and more characters seem to be becoming omniscient, somehow knowing things that nobody in their right mind could ever hope to piece together, and not just because the island or some unseen force told them. Speaking of mysticism, the writers have become utterly reliant on superstition - and what appears to be telepathy - in order to get characters to learn and communicate efficiently with one another. There's a flashback of Desmond's where even one of the ancillary characters not familiar with the Island seems to know all its secrets and everything about everyone.

Hurley gets inordinate screen time, which would be fine if his character weren't such a crashing bore. Most of the new female characters have had so much cosmetic surgery that they don't fit in with the rugged environment of the Island. Juliet is simply hard to look at, her face deconstructed and pieced back together with silicone, collagen and sculpted bone fragments, and ditto for Desmond's wife. It's all well and fine for soap operas; wrong for a show like Lost. Charley's death came at a disappointment particularly since none of the new characters are interesting enough to replace him. Most of the new additions are dry, bland, cookie-cutter types that you might expect to see on a show like 7th Heaven or a filler courtroom drama.

There is almost no real "Island time" to speak of. Most of the events take place in the built-up parts of the Island, complete with swingsets, electricity, pianos, flower pattern curtains and hospital beds. Scenes with the original survivors of flight 815 at their original beach camp seem out of place given that you apparently can't walk very far in any direction without stumbling upon a house, farm, quay or bunker. The sense of adventure is completely drained from the show by the time Season 3 concludes.

Now that I think about it, Season 3 was so bad I might not even watch Season 4. And considering what a promising start the first two seasons were, that's quite a feat. The promise of "Lost" is escapism, but Season 3 brings us right back to the real world of dry primetime television.
