Editorial Review:

No one knew the president had been shot. The pictures on the TV showed Press Secretary James Brady face down in a pool of blood and President Reagan being pushed into his car. ABC News takes you back to March 30, 1981, for up-to-the-minute revelations of the true horror and intent of another assassination attempt, and the joy and relief at its failure.

Editorial Review:

What would you do if you saw bullies ganging up on an innocent kid or a couple fighting in the park -- the boyfriend on the verge of physically harming the woman? "Primetime" conducts a hidden camera tests to see what people do when confronted with ethical dilemmas that force them to act or not. Whether walking right by or getting involved in these scenarios, the reactions people have are fascinating. "Primetime" also takes the experiment further, looking at whether perception influences people's reactions. Will dressing the bullies tougher or changing the race of the fighting couple affect how people respond? John Quinones reports. Then: How will passengers handle a taxi driver who goes on an extensive racist rant filled with hateful ethnic slurs... will they tell him to stop, keep quiet, or maybe even join in? What some people think and openly say about race in America is surprising, including a woman who says all Arabs should be sent back to Ali Baba and a man who talks about using Mexicans and Puerto Ricans for target practice. What's more intriguing is that many of the passengers agree to talk with John Quinones and be on camera. Over the four-day experiment, some people will challenge the cab driver's racism, but will any of them tell him to stop or get out of the car?

In a Nutshell 3 out of 5 stars.

It was okay, it did a good job outlining the philosophy and exposing some of the unfortunate things that have happened to some of the practioners. However, I found it to be somewhat shallow and lacking in depth, especially the interviews. They were too short and lacked substance. In its infancy Scientology was a very good thing which was preverted. There are some things that have merit, but were not considered. I think it would of been better if it had been a little more objective. Moreover, I don't think that anyone would disagree that what it has become is not acceptable.

Editorial Review:

It's unlike any mainstream church. There is no worship of or any bible containing God's word. Yet the Church of Scientology inspires a passion in its members -- some say so strong it's dangerous. Includes interviews with members John Travolta and Kirstie Alley.

Editorial Review:

ABC News reports on the ultimate story of luck involving three people: a little boy born and living in a very dangerous country, with no parents to protect him and no hope for the future, and an American couple - a world famous doctor and his girlfriend - who would meet the boy by chance. Dr. Ian Zlotolow, a prominent doctor specializing in creating prosthetic parts for facial wounds or deformities, met Lansana Lapia while on medical leave from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York to help those in need in Sierra Leone. Dr. Zlotolow took a special liking to Lapia, whose leg was disintegrating. The doctor gave up his position in New York and moved to Oakland, CA to give Lapia a better life in the United States. Which one is really the lucky one?

This film made me sorry that I didn't get to NY to see The Gates. I'm not sure it is art, but it sure is wonderful!
God bless Christo and Jean-Claud!

Editorial Review:

You may have heard of the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude, but if not, perhaps you remember the wrapped Reichstag in Germany, the 1,600 yellow umbrellas dotting the California mountainside, or, the islands off of Miami surrounded with flamingo pink floating fabric. The artists finally realized their 19th project: The Gates in Central Park, New York City. Nightline has followed the artists and watched the logistics of the massive project progress over the nine months.

Editorial Review:

Most people don't have a clue what Kabbalah is, only that it has something to do with Madonna and a parade of stars wearing red strings. From Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, to Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton, Britney Spears even has one of the names of God tattooed in Hebrew on her neck. Kabbalah has become part of pop culture. ABC News spent a year investigating Kabbalah and its founding family, the Bergs, who sit down for their first interview ever. ABC News also travels to Israel to observe a worldwide gathering of thousands of the faithful, including Madonna and her husband. What is drawing so many celebrities to Kabbalah? Why are its followers so convinced and its critics so harsh?

Frankly, I was hoping for a detailed explanation of ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) and how it works. This DVD simply says that ABA helps children with Autism and tells the story of two children it has helped. I already knew that. There are scenes of therapists and parents using ABA but no detailed description of the procedures.

Editorial Review:

Jake and Andrew are quite similar in many ways -- both adored by their parents -- and both diagnosed with autism while they were in pre-school. Both Jake and Andrew received an expensive, intensive and to some, a controversial therapy known as Applied Behavioral Analysis or ABA. It's not a cure for autism. However, applied early, the intensive and highly-structured teaching of skills can work minor miracles and over a long period of time, can have a dramatic impact on learning skills and social interaction. ABC News correspondent John Donvan explores how this treatment is being hailed as one of the few known keys to unlock the mysterious doors of autism. Correspondent: John Donvan

January 11, 1989. This was President Reagan's formal goodbye to the nation after the completion of two terms in office. President Reagan ended his farewell address to the nation by referring to a "shining city upon a hill," a phrase borrowed from the Pilgrim leader John Winthrop and by saying: "My friends, we did it. We weren't just marking time; we made a difference. We made the city stronger, we made the city freer, and we left her in good hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all. And so goodbye, God bless you and God bless The United States of America."

Editorial Review:

ABC News takes viewers to an American killing ground known as Ruby Ridge. Randy Weaver, who saw his family torn apart there, retraces for the first time, the ground where his son, his wife and a federal marshal died. You will see the place from which the FBI stalked the Weavers. ABC News allows viewers to judge whether Randy Weaver, who was wanted on weapons charges, and his family deserved the treatment they received from two federal agencies most Americans think of as their protectors, but which the Weavers now think of as their executioners.
