Even Weirder Than Season 3....But A Ton Better! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I almost did not buy this season after being disappointed in Season 3 (I thought it was too weird, and unrealistic). I was shocked when Season 4 got even more weird! However, I was actually more shocked to realize that I was having a great time watching it (I usually do not like shows when they get way outside of the box). This season was extremely well written, and I would definitely recommend it. This is the season that got me back on the Nip Tuck Bandwagon.

Have Fun!

Editorial Review:

Sex. Seduction. Liposuction. Find them all in the fearless Nip/Tuck, the award-winning series that's the scalpel's edge of entertainment...and the spark for debate about what cosmetic surgery can or cannot bring to a patient's life. Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon play plastic surgeons/best friends whose glamorous South Beach practice is a revolving door for Season 4's hot-button issues (including a terrifying story arc about an organ-harvest ring) and human foibles (a ventriloquist wants to look like his dummy). Guest stars include Jacqueline Bissett, Larry Hagman, Alanis Morissette, Mo'Nique, Rosie O'Donnell, Brooke Shields and more. Thrills, surprises, shocks, stars abound in this 5-Disc Set. And all it takes is a little Nip/Tuck.

EXCELLENT 5 out of 5 stars.

I love the first season. It's the beginning of it all. It's great to go back and see them all before their lives changed at Seattle Grace. I love their energy and enthusiasm.

Not thrilled, but satisfied 3 out of 5 stars.

All I received was the two discs in plastic cases. I was warned that there was no "album artwork" but was unaware of how bare the DVD's would actually come. The season is amazing, however, and makes up it. The discs were in good shape.

Editorial Review:

I'm slowly catching up with this series and so far, it's maintaining my interest. I enjoy the character devolpment and the plot lines. I also like how each and every episode doesn't heavily rely on the preceeding ones. I miss Doug Ross and Nurse Hathaway and now I have 3 others to add to the list - Peter Benton, Cleo and Anthony Edward's character. I will definitely be purchasing the next season.

Editorial Review:

Excitement. Suspense. Joy. Grief. All in a heartbeat. Twenty-two of the best, most compelling hours on television unfold in this powerful, series-changing Season 8 of ER. New hopefuls ? Army Reservist Michael Gallant and brash Gregory Pratt ? arrive to face the challenges of Trauma One life. A familiar face ? Dr. Susan Lewis ? returns. Benton weighs career and family. Malucci crosses the line once too often. Chen defies demotion. And Greene fights what could be his last battle, leaving a void at the group?s heart. His leadership may never be replaced. But someone must step into the breach. That someone is the doctor who?s now been in the ER the longest ? the former student who seemed to have the most to learn: Dr. John Carter.

Have the four previous seasons on DVD 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Even though this is not released yet, I am certain that barring playability issues with the discs (prefer they be one-sided), I will be happy with the results.

What many fail to realize is these shows were filmed in the 70s. This was before High Def cameras and other equipment in use today that gives such high quality images.

The show is watchable and brings back childhood memories. Between CHiPs, Emergency!, and reruns of Dick Van Dyke and Gilligan's Island, life was good.

I watch every season from start to finish before watching the newest addition. I hope they release the remaining season as well as the movies that seemed to act as the 7th season.

This show is a far cry better that all the reality garbage we have to choose from today!

Remembering EMS 30 Years Ago 5 out of 5 stars.

There were a few episodes of Season Five that REALLY took me back. The days before paramedic engine companies, the days before EMT training was required for state firefighter certification, days before automated defibrilators were common practice, and of course the days before the cell phone. If you came on the scene after 1990, please watch in particular these episodes:

1) The Stewardess - This was made in 1975, before airplanes had an AED on board (my old department got their first AED in 1991). Roy and Johnny are returning to Los Angeles from Sacramento, and a man had a heart attack on the plane. Roy and Johnny spend 30 minutes with this patient until landing and then on to Rampart (they are allowed to retrieve gear from the cargo hold). Today, airliners have an AED on board (and better packed first aid kits).

2) Equipment - This was made in 1976, before the advent of paramedic engine companies. Paramedic Gage is overtiming as a firefighter at Station 8 (normal for a big city department) when he and Captain Stone (who had been a paramedic) are treating a construction worker who had a heart attack and have to wait 25 minutes for cardiac drugs and a defibrillator because the only available squad was across town. Gage and Stone did their best with their brains and the equipment they had (as well as CPR), but the patient passed away. Had that happened today, Stone and Gage would of had the right equipment much earlier. REALLY makes you think - it hits home for a firefighter and an EMT or paramedic. I don't think any EMT or paramedic forgets the first patient they lost (I haven't - he was a 48 y/o male who died of a heart attack).

3) There are a few episodes in the Season 5 set where Johnny and Roy are dispatched to meet the Coast Guard. Today, the Coast Guard has their own EMT's and Paramedics.

4) The Frequency episode in Season 3 was also a good one, and there was one episode where a Priority Dispatch System was discussed. Priority Dispatch became reality down the road.

Newbie's as well as old-timers can watch these episodes for the history of the Standard of Care in the mid-1970's. Note the changes, and be thankful that your truck doesn't carry a 42 pound defibrillator, and you have EMT-first responders on fire trucks and police cruisers. Make sure you young guys thank these trailblazers for their perseverance, patients, and tenacity. Without them, you wouldn't be here today.

Talking about Grey's Anatomy I cant say anything but PERFECT! It makes you laugh, makes you cry, it shows how hard is the life inside a hospital.
I really indicate you to buy it. Im from Brazil and it was my first item bought by Amazon. I must say that I was afraid it couldn't arrive, but it did! And it did BEFORE the date they said it would! Its a great opportunity for you to improve your English, since it has no Portuguese subtitles :)

MASH- My very favorite series 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This is so enjoyable for me. Up until now I was always going to the library to get different seasons and I would only have 1 week to watch them. Now I can watch whenever there is nothing on TV. Great stuff.

M*A*S*H 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This is one of those television drama/comedy-series that not only are a chuffing great watch, but truly an important part of telly history. Many people have been given something to think about in re war, civility, cruelty, and kindness through the thoughts, actions, and antics of Hawkeye, Trapper John, BJ Hunnicut, Radar, and all the rest of the cast. There is not only comments on the meaninglessness of war and chauvinism to be found here, but also on existence in general. And lets of course not forget some clever acting along the way, too.

The series pretty much picks up where the film left off. The characters are roughly the same, and the idiosyncratic directional style that Altman brought to the film is mimicked (to a point, of course) in the first series. As time goes by the series changes from being exclusively a comedy series to including quite a bit of drama, which, in my opinion, is just fine. It keeps the series 'fresh', for lack of better words. There is a clear evolution in the way that subject matter is treated. We get to see war and despair treated humoristically as well as dramatically.

The packing, as so many reviewers have noticed before yours truly, is not the best in the world. Two of the disc in my set was actually scratched out of the box. Seems a shame that such a great set of DVDs should suffer such bad packing, which is the reason for my rating it at 4 and not 5 stars. That, and the fact that the image quality is, to put it mildly, not very impressive. In these days of digital clean-up, it shouldn't be hard to make it better than this edition.

Still highly recommendable, though.
