My 4 year old loves this - especially Gloomius 4 out of 5 stars.

My four year old loves this movie. He thinks Gloomius Maximus is great. He watched it for the first time about six months ago and has been building ray guns to "gloom" and "ungloom" us ever since. It has really engaged his imagination. He pretends about rockets, pirates and robots. It started him asking questions about space and real rockets. One day he even organized his whole pre-school class to play "galaxy" - a game he made up about rockets and planets - while on the playground. He can take or leave the TV show, but this is his favorite thing to watch on TV.

I live in Canada and we have this on the television every evening for 30 minutes. Regardless, it's a great DVD to own to watch at anytime.

In "Jingle Jangle Wish" robots Olie, sister Zowie, Mom, Dad, Pappy are celebrating a Christmas-like holiday called "Jingle Jangle" complete with a visit to Klanky Klaus. The 6 other winter-themed episodes are: "Cool It" where Rolie's Dad turns summer into winter, "We Scream for Ice Cream" about a tasty visit to an ice cream planet, "Itty Bitty Baby Starry", "Starry Starry Night", "Snowie", and "Jingle-Jangle Day's Eve".This is a much better value than the the older (2000) shorter, video "Rolie Polie Olie: A Rolie Polie Christmas" which has only a few of these same stories.
Everytime the rollicking theme song comes on, my 5 year sings along in his cracked, not for prime time, cute voice.

The name "Klanky Klaus" instead of "Santa Claus" is confusing to my child, but this is a minor issue. If your kid loves Christmas or just the winter holidays, this is the video for you!

I rented this for my son, now I am buying it. He loved it. Only 1/2 of the stories are strickly Christmas so the rest of the year you can just skip to the others and watch it all year. It is a must for any Rolie Polie fans.

My kids (ages 3 and 4) LOVE this movie! We bought this move on a whim, and I was so pleasantly suprised when we watched it for the first time. The baby robots leave the "mother ship" and are found by the Olie family who, in trying to help them get home, fall in love with them and end up adopting them! What touched me the most was the description of the mother ship as "a happy place where babies live until they find their forever families". As an adoptive mother, it is very important to me for my children to have a positive view of their precious birthmothers and know that they were loved and cared for even before they were placed in our arms. The entire movie is so happy and upbeat, and my kids love all the songs. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to hear giggles and singing from their kids on roadtrips!

We love Rolie Polie Olie, but this movie is not up to par. Turning Gloomius Maximus into a good guy was a fine ending for Defender of Fun. Including him -- with a different accent badly done by a different and less good actor -- as part of the plotline in this one was a saccharine mistake. The adults were gritting their teeth throughout, not the case with the others. Here's hoping Springy-Time Fun is good!

Wonderful stories but annoying menu options 5 out of 5 stars.

I gave this DVD 5 stars because the Rolie Polie stories contained on it are wonderful: funny, clever, visually intriguing, containing wholesome (but not cloying) morals, something that parents and kids can enjoy together. One set of shorts is devoted to Valentine's Day, one to a nondenominational version of a springtime holiday. It's a shame this series isn't more widely known and appreciated. My 3 yr old twins and my 7 yr old happily watch this DVD together.
The major criticism is the way the DVD is packaged by Disney. I've never come across a more annoying, counterintuitive set of menus. You first are automatically subjected to previews of the umpteenth Disney latest release, and you must opt out of the previews by clicking on an exit function. Similarly, there is no "play all" function readily available; you have to individually select which of the sets of shorts you want to watch, then select play in a separate menu for that set. Worst of all, you have to listen to some irritating narrator blather on about what you're trying to watch and no matter how you try to make your selection, you can't until a certain amount of blather has elapsed. My clever 3 yr old has figured out how to keep pressing play in just the right way to expedite the process, but it's horribly annoying and makes me loathe the Disney juggernaut even more.

wow! THIS DVD is awesome i lx epesoved it it was my faverite ever i adore the out of the box epesode the best out of the box epesode ever my aunt and i just oderd this for me i love it its the best dont you think its my faverite one ever i woukd give it 100 stars i love it but one thing they show you how to make a jack o latern with vivein wx iches my faverite only we alredy dont know how to make a jack o latern my aunt showed me how i loved that jack o latern scene that was mt faverite also that out of the box happy halowen was my faverite all of the epesodes were my faverite naomi virgina and sharan vand i liked the roolie poolie ollie epesode the book of pooh epesode and the out of the box happpy halowen epesode

My kids saw these shows when they were first aired on Disney and I videotaped them back then. Now that we don't even own a VCR anymore, I was excited to see them on DVD.
Kids are 7 and 5 and they still love to watch these shows. They don't ever remember seeing them since it was a few years back when they had it on video, but they love this DVD!
