Not as good as Season One 4 out of 5 stars.

Season Two was entertaining, but it didn't captivate me like Season One did. Maybe I need to watch the episodes a few more times. I agree with "Mr Treize" in that a lot of the episodes just stop at random spots, as if the episodes were written too long and just cut off at the 11 minute mark. The few stories that spanned multiple episodes were much better.
One thing that has annoyed me since I got the first season is the censoring of the swear words. There are uncenssored bonus features, but not the main episodes. I get that it is necessary for TV, but I would like unrated episodes on DVD.
More disappointing than rewarding 2 out of 5 stars.

I'm a huge fan of the first season of Metalocalypse, but this second season leaves much to be desired. I agree with another reviewer that the special features on here are largely worthless, and having to search for them is annoying and unnecessary. Considering the huge fanbase this show has built, the creators could have easily put more effort into adding some unique band-related extras - you'll find yourself saying "that's it?"
The writing quality has declined considerably; many episodes here feel either rushed/incomplete, or dragged out to meet the standard episode length (several beating-a-dead-horse sketches will have you reaching for the FF button). Also, the plot development leaves the viewer in virtually the exact same place as the season one ending; the final episode here has lots of great animation tricks, but frustratingly brings you right back to where the season started.
Having said that, there are still a few good laughs here - episodes concerning Toki's father, Snakes & Barrels, and the band's weight problems are all great. Die-hard Dethklok fans will want this, but to everyone else: borrow it from a friend.
