Editorial Review:

Get an inside look at the lives of the Roloffs as they face the pressures of being little in an average-sized world. Witness the everyday successes and struggles of being little with a family determined to succeed in a world that isn't always accepting of their differences.

Episodes 1-5: For dwarves Matt and Amy Roloff, life as Little People is a constant challenge. Standing only four feet tall, they're struggling to raise four children - a mixture of little and average size siblings - on their 34-acre farm. Their fifteen-year-old twins Zach and Jeremy couldn't be more different. Jeremy is average height and Zach is a Little Person, 2-feet shorter than his brother. When their dad Matt takes them to a Little People of America conference, he pushes Zach to overcome his shyness so he can meet girls. When Roloff's 18th wedding anniversary arrives, Matt and Amy Roloff are just too stressed out to celebrate. Amy struggles to balance her two jobs and family as Matt is busy getting his new business off the ground. In Episode 4, entitled Fathers and Sons," Matt hopes to bond with his twin boys, Jeremy and Zach, but their weekend camping trip doesn't go as planned. In Episode 5, Matt plans an elaborate birthday surprise for his wife, Amy, and their daughter, Molly. After sending the girls off for a hot air balloon ride, Matt enlists the help of his twin sons and father in a manic 24-hour renovation of Amy's master bathroom."

Episodes 16-20: In the opening episode of this set, we find Dwarf couple Matt and Amy Roloff taking a break from their hectic lifestyle with a week-long tropical cruise. But as soon they return, Matt and Amy butt heads over one of Matt's new schemes. All eyes, however, soon turn toward Matt and Amy's 15-year-old dwarf son Zach, who is stricken by a mysterious illness. After being rushed to the emergency room, doctors quickly take Zach into surgery, and the Roloff family anxiously awaits the results. Hoping to calm Amy's fears about the future, Matt agrees to take a corporate job in the computer software industry. But after years of being own boss, Matt's transition back into the corporate world proves challenging. Is love in the air? Zach, still convalescing from his emergency surgery, prepares for his very first date, inviting a dwarf girl to his school's winter formal banquet. While Zach's average-height twin brother Jeremy seems at ease at the banquet, Zach's first date is a nerve-wracking experience. In the final episode of Season 1, Matt's upcoming business trip to South America puts added pressure on him to finish remodeling the family kitchen which has been redesigned to "fit" Amy.

Editorial Review:

Little People Matt and Amy Roloff may only be four feet tall, but they are determined to make the world their own. Raising four children - a mixture of Little and average size-siblings aged 6 to 14, the Roloffs are struggling under emotional and financial burdens. As for the kids, they play with wild abandon on the Roloff's lush 30-acre farm in the outskirts of Portland Oregon. The eldest children - twins Jeremy and Zach -- are in stark contrast to each other: Jeremy is average height while Zach is a little person. Episode 5: "Birthday Girls." Little Person Matt Roloff plans an elaborate birthday surprise for his wife, Amy (also a Little Person), and average height daughter, Molly. Sending the girls off for a hot air balloon ride, Matt enlists his twin sons and his father in a manic 24-hour renovation of Amy's master bathroom. As time runs out, Matt's physical limitations slow him down, and he realizes he may not be able to finish the project before the girls return. Meanwhile, Amy celebrates with Molly, and reveals how dwarf mothers carry and give birth to average height children.

Jeremy is nearly two feet taller than Zach, and Amy thinks Jeremy takes his opportunities for granted. When Jeremy wants to skip soccer practice, Amy is furious, knowing Zach is too short to make the team and would give anything to play. The tension mounts until a heated argument erupts after a mishap on the first day of school.
