Engaging, inspirational, fun 5 out of 5 stars.

Surprisingly, I am enjoying the Little People Big World. The show features a mixed stature family from Oregon, Matt and Amy Roloff, twins Zach and Jeremy; Molly and Jacob. The parents and one child, the twin Zach, are born little people.

Since Matt spent much of his youth in hospitals, his dreams as a child have become real with his family. Matt is entrepreneurial, a doer (or more like a supervisor of the doers) and inspirational and this little man is committed to his dreams, his challenge to life. With health issues, his physical work is limited.

On the 34-acre farm, what child would not have enjoyed that magical and playful spread that includes a Pirate Ship, Tree House and a Western Town. The farm brings in money from corporate parties, tours, selling peaches, etc.,

Amy, more of a realist than Matt, works two jobs, one being a soccer coach. The house is a mess and Zach can be a little pill with his lack of respect to his dad at times. Season one shows a camping trip with the boys and friends, driver's license, etc.

But you can enjoy life through the eyes of the Roloff family. Although I never did see the TLC show, I enjoy having a first view through DVD....Rizzo

Get an inside look at the lives of the Roloffs as they face the pressures of being little in an average-sized world. Witness the everyday successes and struggles of being little with a family determined to succeed in a world that isn't always accepting of their differences. Season 1 Set (4 Disc Set): For dwarves Matt and Amy Roloff, life as little people is a constant challenge. Standing only four feet tall, they're struggling to raise four children - a mixture of little and average size siblings - on their 34-acre farm. Their fifteen-year-old twins Zach and Jeremy couldn't be more different. Jeremy is average height and Zach is a little person, 2-feet shorter than his brother. Season 1 chronicles the Roloffs experiencing a series of typical family highs and lows. Matt takes his boys to a a Little People of America conference and pushes Zach to overcome his shyness so he can meet girls. Meanwhile, Amy struggles to balance her two jobs and family as Matt is busy getting his new business off the ground. During the holiday season, Matt and Amy celebrate with their four children, but must come to grips with their 15 year-old son Jeremy's desire to spend more time with his girlfriend. All eyes, however, soon turn toward Zach, who is stricken by a mysterious illness. In the final episode of Season 1, Matt's upcoming business trip to South America puts added pressure on him to finish remodeling the family kitchen which has been redesigned to "fit" Amy.

Not as good as the first season, but good 4 out of 5 stars.

I purchased this dvd a few weeks ago on another site for $34.99. I was happy to get an opportunity to catch up on some of the episodes that I'd missed. There are 45 episodes on the 5 dvd set.

For those of you that were annoyed that you could not select "Play all" to see all episodes on a disc for the season one dvds, this remains a problem. You need to return to the main menu and select the next episode.

Still a good series, though product placements are becoming a little too conspicuous.

A lotta little fun! 5 out of 5 stars.

According to the packaging of Little People, Big World, Season 2 is in two parts, but I can only find Part 1. Don't know if there is a part 2.

I can't say why I am drawn to this simple show, but maybe because we have the ability to examine our "neighbor's" home and life. And the reality show is a departure from the numerous ones on TV that we can't truly connect with. The average person didn't grow up or observe little people, hence the fascination.

And it is not just the Roloff's whose lives we are privy to, we get to observe some other little people's lives in their hometown. In this season, you can enjoy the DAAA, an athletic program for little people to compete with their own skill level. We learn the story of "little Zack" , a fast moving little guy whose big heart is revealed when his Dad leaves for Iraq. There is also footage of another Little People's Convention. You will also envy the Roloff's as they venture into Hawaii and Matt (being Matt) is inspired to recreate a ride that zips a person across a cable.

Another interesting fun segment is the visit from both families of Amy's and Matt's for Thanksgiving. In the episode, with a few days before all the families converge on the farm, Matt, (being Matt) decides to have the old wood floor torn up. And, per usual, the farm toys are spotlighted when another mule (farm vehicle)is purchased. You will be amused at the trebuchet, the pumpkin skyrocketing gadget.

Regardless how much money is spent, (remember folks, they earn money from a TV show), the fun is in the watching.

The episodes:
Twins At Sixteen, Organizing Amy, The Greenhouse Effect, Get Out Of Town, Roloffs In Paradise, Aloha, Roloffs, Road To The DAAA, Game On! and Little Fort, Big Deck.

All Decked Out, While Amy's Away, Zip To My Lu, A Roloff Thanksgiving Part 1 & 2, A Whole Lotta Little and A Big Little Conference.

A Twin Experience, Little Farm, Big Apple, Mad About Mules, Twin Trouble, Matt On A Mission, Farm Overload Trebuchet Trouble.

Editorial Review:

Little People Matt and Amy Roloff may only be four feet tall, but they are determined to make the world their own. Raising four children - a mixture of Little and average size-siblings aged 6 to 14, the Roloffs are struggling under emotional and financial burdens. As for the kids, they play with wild abandon on the Roloff's lush 30-acre farm in the outskirts of Portland Oregon. The eldest children - twins Jeremy and Zach -- are in stark contrast to each other: Jeremy is average height while Zach is a little person. Episode 3: "Our Little Anniversary." When their 18th wedding anniversary arrives, Little People Matt and Amy Roloff are just too stressed out to celebrate. Amy is close to her breaking point, struggling to keep up with two jobs while taking care of her four children, who are already taller than she is. Matt is just as busy trying to get his new business off the ground. After the anniversary comes and goes, Matt's average height parents team up with the Roloff kids to throw a surprise party, leading Matt and Amy to examine the future of their marriage and their family.
