A very good collection of Dirty Jobs episodes. Most of the early episodes are included. I enjoy all the laughs.

Cable TV has just become to expensive I canceled it all but the basic package which cut my cost to cable by over $50 a month. My son and I loved the Discovery chanel so I have taken to purchasing the dvd's to the programs he most liked on Discovery. We love being able to watch what we want when we want and now he no longer has access to TRASH TV.
I admit I enjoy Dirty Jobs more than my son and continue to collect all of the DVD's.

Entertaining and educational...Mike Rowe takes you behine the scenes of interesting and dirty jobs. I have learn the price people pay in working in some demanding professions.

Want a bunch of laughs over someone earning a living , doing dirty jobs? This is by all means disgusting but funny too. the collection sets 1-4 are now available on Amazon. This is a must.

Although the Title is Dirty Jobs, some of his jobs are hot or smelly but NOT always dirty and he does a good job of many different occupations interpersed with humor.

This has got to be the best tv show there is.
My 11 year old daughter wanted the series for christmas.
She enjoys it as much as her parents do.

This third collection of Dirty Jobs continues the pattern set by the first two collections of offering a "best of" set of episodes. Mike Rowe and crew have established a formula for each episode that calls for showing an overview of the job followed by Mike getting dirty.
After so many episodes the show has evolved into interesting and important jobs that only a few people work at. Bridge painters, buoy cleaners, and NASA crawler maintainers make up a small portion of workers, but knowing the nature of the work is entertaining and educational.
The series is suitable for children as young as age 5. Unlike earlier collections which contained some details on animal breeding, Dirty Jobs Collection 3 has nothing I found objectionable. Disgusting? Yes.
Check out the leather tanning episode for some truly gross work and the bridge painting episode for some stunning images of the Mackinac Suspension Bridge in northern Michigan.

These dirty jobs seem to get better and better with age. My eight and five year old love them and they rival some of my past jobs. Definitely purchase this unlesss they have the Dirty Jobs Cable Channel in your neighborhood. Mike drop by for some lessons in kimchi...

Each week host Mike Rowe introduces the viewer to an elite assortment of men and women who make their living doing the most unthinkable jobs. Episode 35: LOBSTERMEN Mike Rowe steps into the shoes of hard working bait and lobster fishermen in Maine. His goal, to find out just how dirty a job it is to provide the world with the delicious crustacean delicacy. Mike starts his day packing smelly fish into bait boxes. He then meets up with two teenagers that own their own lobster fishing boat. MIKE'S MAILBAG / SEAWEED HARVESTER Mike opens up the viewer mailbag and answers a viewers question about how the crew sometimes finds stories unexpectedly. Mike shares a story about a seaweed harvester that he met while on location in Ohio. Mike jumps into action when he sees a guy on Lake Erie who has the dirty responsibility of harvesting seaweed from the lake in order to keep it from getting caught in the props from boats in the marina. SNAKE RESEARCHER Mike Rowe joins up with Kristin Stanford from the Lake Erie Water Snake Outreach program and gets an up close look at how she's helping to preserve water snakes from extinction. There is much to be learned from watching DIRTY WORK as each week host Mike Rowe introduces the viewer to an elite assortment of men and women who make their living doing the most unthinkable jobs. LITHO PRESS Mike Rowe rolls up his sleeves and gets dirty operating an antique printing press that makes fine art lithographs. Mike inks up the rollers and gets the giant gears turning in an attempt to make a limited edition Dirty Jobs poster. After a full days work, Mike has a new appreciation for the men and women who get dirty in the printing business. TERRACOTTA Mike Rowe joins forces with the largest terracotta manufacturer in the United States and he learns quickly that turning red clay into architectural ornaments is a very dirty job. Mike finds himself up to his elbows in plaster as he makes molds that will later be filled with red clay to make highly decorative building facades. Decorative terracotta tiles have adorned many of America's architectural masterpieces since the late 1800's. GARBAGE PIT TECHNICIAN Mike Rowe teams up with a group of garbage collectors that are converting trash into electricity. It's a smelly proposition that has Mike up to his knees in other people's garbage but in the end he learns that some dirty jobs are helping to preserve the environment.
