GRIM'S A HIT 5 out of 5 stars.

I loved this cartoon from the very first time I watched it, getting this First Season DVD set is great to have and to watch when you want. You can see how this cartoon grew from the early stages with this set, this is a MUST HAVE DVD for any Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy! The Evil Con Carne show is solid stuff and they should add more to the next season release and the Grim & Evil episodes too...

Fan since day one 5 out of 5 stars.

I'm a cartoon junkie since the 60's. Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy is one of a few truely great cartoons that Cartoon Network has aired. Long live Grim, Billy & Mandy!

Extraordianriamente divertido 5 out of 5 stars.

Even More Holiday HA-HA-HAs 4 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Unlike "CN Halloween Volume 3", "CN Christmas Volume 3" is probably the best one yet ! Here's a look at what episodes this DVD has:

Camp Lazlo: "Snow Beans" - For the first time on DVD, see Lazlo and his fellow Bean Scouts as they take a ski trip in the mountains.

Billy and Mandy: "Billy and Mandy Save Christmas" - The greatest holiday special to date features our two young heroes and the Grim Reaper as they rescue Santa who has turned into a vampire.

Foster's: "Store Wars" - Bloo and the gang head to the mall as they search for the perfect birthday present for Madame Foster.

Ed, Edd n Eddy: "In Like Ed" - Kevin knows too much. This misconception leads to a covert operation conducted by the Eds themselves.

Kids Next Door: "Operation N.A.U.G.H.T.Y." - The Delightful Children from Down the Lane attempt to ruin Christmas by taking all the presents in the world while the KND takes the blame.

I'm surprised there are only FIVE shows on this DVD. Maybe they ought to throw in at least one of the following:

Courage the Cowardly Dog: "Snowman's Revenge" - The North Pole is suffering global warming, and the sinister Snowman decides to make a new home... at Courage's home !

Johnny Bravo: "Johnny on Ice" - Bravo accidentally gets frozen in a chunk of ice. A scientist later thaws him out thinking that he's the missing link.

Dexter's Lab: "A Mom Cartoon" - Dexter's mother goes holiday shopping and fights -that's right, FIGHTS- her way towards the last pair of latex gloves.

I Am Weasel: "The Legend of Big Butt" - Paranormalists Weasel and Baboon take a trip to the Himalayas in search of the elusive creature Big Butt.

My Gym Partner's a Monkey: "Cool Kids" - Jake Spidermonkey becomes part of the "in-crowd" at the school's polar classes.

They'll probably save that last one as well as the Foster's Christmas special, "A Lost Claus", for Volume 4 next year.

Holiday HA-HA-HAs 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I like this DVD. Episodes like "Fa-la-la-Ed" and "Courage's Nutcracker" are quite suitable to this DVD.

Maybe the next Cartoon Network holiday DVD will have the Eds' "Jingle Jingle Jangle" special as well as the other holiday themed episode of "I Am Weasel" and Johnny Bravo's first holiday episode. I'm anxious for that.

Editorial Review:

'Tis the season to be quirky in this aptly named collection of animated Yuletide Follies from the Cartoon Network. There are plenty of favorites here to please fans, such as The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, a tale of woe when winter camp is visited by the sinister Son of Negral, who turns campers into ice sculptures. Equally chilly is Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, the series that stars a trio of tricksters who, in this case, bring Christmas to the cul-de-sac complete with presents and pranks. Girl power reigns when the Powerpuff Girls combat crime in the city of Townsville as Blossom uses her newly acquired ice breath to cool things off a bit. And don't miss the tongue-in-cheek junkyard romp as Courage, the Cowardly Dog, battles a duo of menacing mice, accompanied by a nostalgic rendition of The Nutcracker. Not for the faint of heart, this 60-minute revelry includes nine offbeat tales of irreverent holiday mirth. (Ages 8 and older) --Lynn Gibson

Editorial Review:

Devious characters and nightmarish happenings are the norm in the twisted, cell animated world of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy where evil clashes with evil and mean meets meaner on a daily basis. The cast of characters includes Mandy, a surly, controlling, sarcastic girl; Billy, a dim-witted, hyperactive boy obsessed with snot and other bodily fluids; Irwin, a boy who's madly in love with Mandy; the Boogeyman, a bully who's lost his ability to scare people; and the Grim Reaper, a skeletal Mr. Death who's beleaguered by the constant company of Billy and Mandy. In Billy and Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure, Billy and Mandy have recently won ownership of the Grim Reaper and their unceasing demands to accompany him as he drags unsuspecting souls to their deaths is cramping the Grim Reaper's style--so much so that one of his intended victims gets away. Grim is put on trial and fired from his deathly employment which leads him, Mandy, Billy, and Irwin to embark on a quest to capture Horror's Hand in hopes of utilizing its evil powers to get Grim's job back and cause widespread suffering throughout the world. The Boogeyman, Grim's rival since middle school, is experiencing a personal crisis because he can't scare modern children and is also plotting to capture Horror's Hand and then use it to transform himself into everyone's worst nightmare. Grim, Billy, Mandy, Irwin, and Boogeyman battle each other and a host of frightening monsters that include a band of pirates along the river Styx, and Billybot and Mandybot robots from the future in a fight that forces each character to face his/her own worst fears. Bonus features include the original "Bully Boogie" short which explores the middle school beginnings of the feud between Boogeyman and Grim Reaper and a "Behind the Voices" featurette with interviews with creator Maxwell Atoms, Greg Eagles (Grim), Richard Horvitz (Billy), and Grey Delisle (Mandy). Would Buy It For "Jingle Jingle Jangle" 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 5 people found this review helpful.

I used to love Johnny Bravo as a kid, but I don't remember any of the Christmas episodes. I remember Courage and watched it, butI don't remember the Christmas episode. I HATE Codename: Kids Next Door, and the others, I don't know.

BUT.....This disc DOES have Jingle Jingle Jangle, my favorite Ed, Edd, and Eddy episode. I would buy this DVD just for that episode. But if I find out that Jingle Jingle Jangle is going to be in the upcoming first season box set of Ed, Edd, and Eddy, I'm going to save my money.

More Holiday Ha-Ha-Has 4 out of 5 stars.

Another title for this review might be "Ha ! I knew it !" or something like that. This has the episodes of Johnny Bravo and I Am Weasel I have predicted earlier in the volume one review; as does the Eds' "Jingle Jingle Jangle" holiday special.

And since this DVD is called "Christmas ROCKS", the bonus episodes have something to do with music. For example, there's the Billy and Mandy episode where Grim plays some goth metal of sorts(he almost sings like Marylin Manson if you know what I mean).

I'm not sure if they'll make a volume three, which might also have the other Snowman-themed episode of Courage, but I hear they're making a Kids Next Door holiday special called "Operation N.A.U.G.H.T.Y." and also a Billy and Mandy holiday episode, I think. In the meantime, I'll enjoy this and the first volume as well.

(I'm still anxious for a Valentine's Day DVD, though !)

More Halloween Ha-Ha-Has 4 out of 5 stars.
5 of 8 people found this review helpful.

This is the second installment of the Cartoon Network Halloween DVD. It's got a Halloween-themed episode of Kids Next Door and another double dose of Courage. Personally, besides the Franken-Bravo episode, I thought they'd put a second episode of Billy and Mandy in there. Maybe next volume.

And another thing, I thought the I Am Weasel episode would be either "I am Franken-weasel" and/or "I are Ghost" to follow up the "I am Vampire" episode in the first volume. But with the DVD title being "The Grossest Halloween Ever", "Power of Odor" does seem to fit it. That goes the same with that Powerpuff Girls episode entitled "Reeking Havoc"(I was expecting the episode where the girls battle a zombie magician). Like I said before: maybe next volume.

And perhaps in volume three, I have noticed another Halloween-themed episode of Billy and Mandy and one of Cow and Chicken. Plus, some other scary-looking episodes of other Cartoon Network shows like the ED-isode where single-D masquerades as a monster and terrorizes the neighborhood, or the time when Dexter watches a scary movie and experience the horrifying effects from watching it, or the one where the Kids Next Door fight some zombie nerds. And, hey, there's a brand new Ed, Edd n Eddy Halloween special called the Eds' "Boo Haw Haw." I think they'll put that in there, too. Well, you never know until you find out.

(I'm still anxious for a Valentine's Day DVD, though !)

Not very Halloween-ish 2 out of 5 stars.
19 of 30 people found this review helpful.

Not a very good offering for a Halloween-themed DVD. The only ones even remotely Halloween related are Billy & Mandy and The Powerpuff Girls. All the rest seem like a random assortment of older Cartoon Network originals. You can't really call the Courage episodes "Halloween Specials", since EVERY episode of Courage deals with monsters, ghosts and other creepy happenings. At least the Nickelodeon Halloween DVD had ONLY the Halloween specials. Get a clue CN, or Warner, or whoever picked out the content for this disc.

Not a Great Value 3 out of 5 stars.

At a running time of a mere 107 minutes, this CArtoon Network set of Halloween/horror themed cartoons isn't a great value quite frankly. With no extras $10 - $15 seems somewhat pricey to me. $7.99 would be more fair,

Anyway you get nine toons from Cartoon Network regulars The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Ed, Edd 'n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Cow & Chicken, I A.M. Weasel, Dexter's Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, and Johnny Bravo.

nice DVD but not quite what I was looking for 3 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I bought this DVD expecting to finally get to see Ed Edd n Eddy's "Boo Haw Haw". Be warned: It is NOT on this disc! There are some fine episodes on here, but that one is not present. Here's the actual list (from the disc in front of me as I type):

Foster's Home: "Bloooo"
Juniper Lee: "It's the Great Pumpkin, Juniper Lee"
Billy & Mandy: "the Bubble with Billy"
Ed, Edd n Eddy: "Don't Rain on My Ed"
Kids Next Door: "Operation J.E.W.E.L.S."
Powerpuff Girls: "Candy's Dandy"

I was disappointed that "Boo Haw Haw" was not on the disc, being an obvious choice, but "Don't Rain on My Ed" is one of my favorite Eds episodes, so I don't feel completely let down. I'm not sure what that episode has to do with Halloween, but a good one nonetheless.
The disc is starkly devoid of extras, apart from CN's usual promos for upcoming material.
There are good episodes on this disc, and what is there is good quality, but given the absence of the most obvious episode choices and the lack of any extra material, I can't rate this disc higher than a 3. It's great if you really like these episodes, otherwise just watch them on TV.
