I love the series and already purchased the first 3 seasons from Amazon. But, since season #4 was an abridged season (writers' strike) and you only get 5 DVDs for @ 720 minutes of viewing why would I want to pay such a high price? I suggest that the cost of season 4 should be discounted by Amazon to account for the reduced quantity of episodes. Even David Krumholtz would agree with these numb3rs.

The DVD set arrived quickly and is in perfect shape. I am really enjoying it. There are lots of interesting DVD extras that are well worth buying the set and then the series is just great.

So here we have a young math geek mixing it up with the big boys at the FBI! The Feds always need help to try to tease the patterns out of the nasty crimes that they are confronted with. Super FBI hard nose Rob Morrow, the leader of a high performing crime squad,really doesn't want help from his baby brother the math wiz, David Kromholtz, but can't stop asking for it when the geeking looking nerd shows that math can unravel patterns that can't be seen by ordinary mortals. Toss some great work by supporting actors on either side of the crime fighting team, plus outstanding work by Father Judd Hirsch,and you have a winner! Shared screen time by a wide cast of really tightly focused actors and you have a story line that goes on for at least four years with nary a mediocre episode. It would be my first choice for a present for someone that likes this genre.

This is the most greatest new series on the tube next to CSI. How they combine FBI Investigations and everyday mathmatics is incredible. You never know how things will turn out in each episode.

This is a great TV series for anyone, especially those who enjoy cop type shows and drama. But it also makes the mind work a bit and really appreciate incredible math skills and unbelievable luck!

Again, it's all about the numbers! Numbers bring in the bad guys! Brother duo are still offering up great sleuthing situations using FBI technics with plenty of math formulas. This season add more story with some sad news and some funny surprises.

I really had high expectations for this season, based on other reviews I read. In my opinion the season takes of slowly and the actors seem a bit "rusty".
I also missed the thrill I still had in season two whenever an algorrythm was found to come to a solution. Now it feels like: There's a problem, don't worry, we have a pill (algorrythm) for it! It has become routine.
Four stars for Louis Diamond Phillips and Judd Hirsch - I enjoy both characters very much. Don't know what the infamous Millie should accomplish. Hopefully the forth season will pick up the slack.

The Numb3rs series is quite well done. Being Hollywood it's a bit too violent overall but it is very interesting how they link the mathematics in many episodes. Ok, not perfectly so for purists but the show makes one think about different ways in which mathematics can be and is used in the series.
I showed a couple shows to my high school classes and overall they enjoyed it - some already were watching the series. The tough part is that the math can be a bit heavy, thus "Charlievision" is the best creation of the series. Whenever the main mathematician, Charlie, goes off on a real-world comparative model for the math he is explaining they use a different type of filming technique.
The character development is also pretty good. Main downfall is the overly Hollywoodish elements of too much violence and occasionally other risque plots making it less appropriate for younger audiences.
The main actors have gone to the NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) conference where they were received like rock stars.

What a wonderful collection! It has provided many hours of entertainment and the additional features on the DVD's really enhanced the experience. It was delightful to watch the side-stories as they evolved. So much more than just another crime drama series, Numb3rs stimulates the intellect and captures your emotions with the beauty and the challenges of human family relationships.

I am a huge fan of Numbers so I just had to buy the DVD. All in all its great - only downside is the extras. Only one or two really worth watching but not much else. Most other DVD's have interviews and profiles but all we have here is chats to the creators, info on the SFX and a couple of blooper reels which are good dont get me wrong. Would just have expected a lot more.
Overall though if you are a fan this is a must have!

This is for the more nerdy crime drama lovers. Great story writing. I watched all the epsodes from all three seasons in a marathon with my wife over 4 months or so. We cant wait for the 4th season to come out.

Easily the best show on television.
I watch it all the time in remote Australia when ever it is on and couldn't wait to purchase the DVD set.
Get a copy of it and enjoy it as much as I have.
You'll not only get a great cop show to enjoy, but an insight into the world of Math, like never before.
