What???? 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 11 people found this review helpful.

I guess most people buying the DVD love the show but I had never seen the show and bought the first season for curiosity. Out of all the adult swim shows I have seen (robot chicken, aqua teen, metalocalypse, boondocks) this one was undeniably boring and uninteresting. Most of the time Harvey represents cartoon characters that are from the 70s, to whom I have no clue who they are. You might like it if your an older person.

Absurdly hilarious! 5 out of 5 stars.

Who knew you could pack so many laughs into 15 minutes. Hanna Barbera might be rolling in their graves .... from laughter.

Irreverant, silly, goofy .... and sometimes just odd.

If you enjoyed the Hanna-Barbera characters from the 60s and 70s, you'll love whats become of there here, when they have to deal with Harvey Birdman.

Editorial Review:

Once a third-rate superhero, Harvey Birdman is now a third-rate lawyer trying like hell to get by in a fancy law firm. It's not clear whether Harvey actually went to law school, but he definitely knows the things to say to sound like a lawyer. And he has a suit now, that's for sure.

ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD! 3 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

When Futurama first came out, I was convinced it would never last. Unlike the Simpsons, Futurama makes you feel a bit like a moron when you watch it, with perpetual in-jokes to science fiction and fact that you may only catch years later. To my delight, Futurama had a very successful run.

One of the last episodes involved the Robot Devil, a favorite character of mine, and the burgeoning romantic subplot between Fry and Leela. Fry, having traded his hands in for the Robot Devil's hands so that he could play the hypnoflute ultimately has to give the hands back and the episode ends with a sweet but sad little tune imagining Fry and Leela together. Filled with clever banter, excellent music and choreography, plot twists, and a bittersweet ending, this was Futurama at its finest.

Bender's Big Score is not Futurama at its finest. All of those plots have been discarded.

Mind you, it's not bad. It's just not fantastic. Bender's Big Score is a series of muddled plot points, pointless cameos, and a lot of "hey, look, we gave you what you wanted!" fan service. It's great to have a DVD comeback of a great show, but I expected better from a feature-length movie. I mean, Internet scams? That's so ten years ago!

That said, I'm a huge fan of Hypnotoad. Twenty minutes of Hypnotoad. TWENTY. MINUTES. That's right, twenty glorious minutes of HYPNOTOAD. ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

So for that, it gets an extra star. But only because Hypnotoad compels me.

stewie griffin the untold story 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 4 people found this review helpful.

the write up proclaims "never before seen footage" making the consumer believe it is an original and unique film...in actuality, it is like one of those Bugs Bunny movies where they throw in 30 seconds of new stuff in between all the cartoons you have seen before...essientially, this is stewie and brian searching for stewies father stretched out over an hour...pretty disappointing

Break Out The Rubber Pants! 5 out of 5 stars.

Follow Stewie's lead & wear a diaper for this one! You'll be glad you did, unless, of course, you have that plastic-clad furniture, lol. Seth has done it again with this side-splitting comedy. He's taken some of the best of Stewie's antics from the popular Fox cartoon, added a few unseen gems, & has come up with an all Stewie review! Join Stewie on a series of wild adventures as he tries to 'find' himself. He also finds numerous pitfalls along the way, pits that only Stewie can fall into. A hilariously good time for all "Family Guy" fans!

Editorial Review:

In this exclusive 88 minute DVD premiere, featuring brand new, never before seen content, Stewie, the maniacal baby genius, is distracted from his plans for world domination when he sees a man who looks just like him on television. Convinced that this man must be his real father (after all, how could he possibly share genetic material with the dimwitted Peter?), Stewie sets off on a cross-country road trip to find him. But his incredible journey leads him to discoveries far more vile and shocking that anything found in his diaper.

"Slippery breath inside banjo melted. Runny Smoky." 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

The Aqua Teen Hunger Force is back! Follow the antics of fast food in this hilarious, offbeat, adult cartoon. There's a Shake (Master Shake), French Fries (Frylock), and a wad of hamburger (Meatwad), and they are out to save the world when they aren't floating in their neighbor's aboveground pool. Their neighbor, Carl, is a disgusting, uneducated, sloppy fat, hairy, Jersey-speaking guy who wears a sleeveless tank top, sweats, and flip-flops.

This second season introduces some new monsters while bringing back some old favorites from Season One, like the Mooninites and the Plutonians. Each episode has an introductory scene from Dr. Weird and his assistant Steve, that are hilarious but have nothing to do with the show.

DISC ONE:
1) Mail Order Bride - Carl and Shake order a Chechnyan prostitute to marry, but she locks them out of the house.
2) Super Birthday Snake - Frylock kills Shake, Meatwad, and Carl, and they come back as zombies, but it turns out to be just virtual reality.
3) Universal Remonster - The Plutonians try to steal cable from the ATHF, but instead accidentally send a universal Remonster (a teddy bear made out of TV remotes) through the "Fargate".
4) Super Bowl - Meatwad wins superbowl tickets, and Shake and Carl fight over who is taking with him.
5) Super Hero - Shake steals toxic waste from the storage facility in the river to try and turn himself into Drizzle, a superhero. "$ex with animals? There's no time, man!"
6) Super Squatter - Shake doesn't pay the bills and moves next door with Carl when the utilities are shut off.
7) Super Spore - (My favorite from Season Two!) An alien blob named Travis takes over Shake by punching a tentacle into his brain. He also pees like a sprinkler. He wants a 401K, but doesn't do well in his interview because he's "sprinkling" and talking trash.
8) Super Model - Shake gets plastic surgery in Guatemala, but needs more so he turns to one of Carl's shady friends.

DISC TWO:
1) Super Trivia - Dr. Weird talks into a microphone with his bare hinder. The ATHF plays bar trivia with Wayne The Brain McLaine.
2) Super Sir Loin - Dr. Weird grafts a deer antler to his groin. The diapered spider who appeared in Season One as MC Pee Pants is back as Sir Loin, but now he is a diapered cow with a new scheme.
3) Super Computer - Frylock designs a super computer called the OoGhIJMIQxxXA! (He says it's a Klingon word) But the ball-shaped computer travels to the past and brings back Oog the Caveman.
4) Meat Zone - Meatwad can prophesy by touching people, but its just from eating caulk thinking it was cheese.
5) Cybernetic Ghost Of Christmas Past From The Future - The ghost of Christmas past, a bird-like robot, shows up at Carl's house. Carl's pool becomes filled with elfin blood, so he sells to Danzig the devil worshiper.
-- Extras include deleted scenes, commentaries, and a music video.

Though I think I liked Season One better, Season Two has one of my all-time favorite episodes, Super Spore. Perhaps not quite as inventive as the first season, the humor is still sharp and the fast food is still crazy. If you like Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, or Invader Zim, them you should get a big kick out of ATHF (though they still should lose the annoying theme music). Enjoy!

Editorial Review:

Food products living in New Jersey go out of their minds crazy as hell. This is the story of Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad: creatures who live together, unsupervised, somewhere near the Jersey shore. Carl, their next door neighbor, has an above-ground pool and an attitude.

Futur-larious! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Futurama is awesome! I love the way the writers think in terms of plot. The episodes are good on humor and twisting things and the series itself is actually an EXCELLENT commentary on history and the American society. The only thing I don't like about this series is that after awhile, the constant approach to humor that goes, "I'm saying one thing, then arbitrarily doing the exact opposite just for the hell of it!" gets a little old. There are plenty of times where it's quite effective, don't get me wrong, but when it's the main source of humor I get the feeling that they're dealing with writer's block. But, that's a minor point. If you like the Simpsons, if you don't like the Simpsons, who cares--this series is NOTHING like the Simpsons (even though the creator is the same as the one of the Simpsons).
So what are you waiting for? Get out there and buy this!

it's futurama! 5 out of 5 stars.

Season 1. there's not really a question. If you're an old school simpsons fan (seasons 3-8 are pure gold) then you have no reason for not enjoying futurama, which was created and written by many of the same people from that era.

Fresh and Original-- the beginning of a great series 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

While it took until volume 2 to really develop the personalities, there is something uniquely special about volume 1 of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. It may be that the animation is the crappiest (anybody else find the animation funny when compared to the newer, more "improved" textures?)Or it may just be that volume 1 is at hits heart a completely fresh, and genuine piece of humor. Some of the best episodes to date are found here. My personal favorites on this volume are "Dumber Dolls" and "Old Drippy," but "Escape from Leprechaupolis" and "Bus of the Undead" are close rivals.

Volume 1 will forever be a noted member of my ATHF collection, and while the series consistently got better with just about every volume, it is all the better if you watch if from the beginning.

There's no carnival in the freezer! 5 out of 5 stars.

Possibly my favorite volume of ATHF. Great for anyone who loves totally random, ridiculous humor.

Stop frowning and start howling.

creative and awesome characters. 5 out of 5 stars.

I generally dislike most cartoon type "adult" videos, but Aqua Teens are so original and the characters so believable. Very smart and humorous. Some of the later episodes are not as good as the first ones -- they seem to resort to gore and less to creative interactions and timely topics.

Humor, Ignorance...and BLISS! 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought this DVD to complete the collection, and this may be the funniest one of the 4 (although season 4 itself was pretty absurd)...was shipped fast, and i still watch it until i feel my IQ has dropped 20 to 30 points.

Editorial Review:

First of all, they're not teens. Secondly, there's not water involved. The whole Hunger Force thing? That's probably misleading, too. In short, if you have to ask what "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" is about, it is probably not a show for you. The rest of us will go on thrilling to the adventures of Frylock, Meatwad and Master Shake as they, you know... hang out.

Very Funny...not 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 10 people found this review helpful.

This was my favorite season and I was looking forward to having it on DVD. Imagine the disappointment to find out after having bought it that the Play All feature was some stupid joke. As it's been stated over and over (and again here) when you select Play All, every episode is displayed on screen with it's own soundtrack. There is no way to play episodes consecutively automatically. You have to select each individual episode AND choose whether or not to have commentary on or off.

It would be a nice joke if there was actually a way to play all episodes normally. Since that's not the case, all it is annoying and very telling that Adult Swim doesn't want money as I am returning this today as soon as DVDecryptor does it's thing. Good thing I know how to re-author DVDs. Thanks Adult Swim for the free season.
