As with the 1st 2 season 3 of the simpsons has some great episodes 1 in which has to be the best is Stark Raving Dad in which after being in the wash 1 of homers white t-shirts ends up in the wash with barts red hat and turns pink homer ends going to work in it where burns notices it and gets homer sent to the loony bin where he ends up in a room with a big guy who thinks he's michael jackson the result is 1 of the best jokes ever in which the whole town gather to meet him thinking he is the real deal.

Another great season and must have

EXCELENT SEASON 5 out of 5 stars.

Great! My fiance needed the 3rd season for his collection. Hilarious! Great episodes!

It only gets better. 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought this season along with season 4 while at a store with my then fiance and spent the next few weeks watching them while she went off to work. Season 3 has some of my favorite episodes, Like Father, Like Clown, wherein Krusty tells the story of his estrangement from his Rabbi father and Bart and Lisa set out to bring the two of them back together again. Other notables include When Flanders Failed, wherein Flanders opens a store for lefthanded individuals only to have it fail due to Homer's spiteful wish, and Bart the Murderer, which introduces us to Fat Tony and his gang. This season also includes the second Treehouse of Horror, one of my favorites actually. This one features the Monkey's Paw, Bart possessing supernatural powers and the Frankenstein sketch where Mr. Burns uses Homer's brain in a new, robotic worker which he believes will solve the problem of the incompetant employee. It also, interestingly enough, introduces one of my favorite Simpsons traditions (at least in Halloween shows), that in which a character is fatally injured but describes his injuries in detail before he finally does die. "Every bone...shattered...Organs...leaking vital fluids...Slight headache...Loss of appetite...Smithers...I'm going to die."
But this season features a great many other excellent episodes. Of particular interest to me are Flaming Moe's, which featured a guest appearance by Aerosmith, Radio Bart, Rancho Relaxo and Homer at the Bat. Oh, and of course let's not forget I Married Marge. Saturdays of Thunder and Lisa's Pony aren't my favorite episodes but they're still good. Then of course Mr. Lisa goes to Washington and Homer Defined are classics well worth watching. Of those two I'd have to say the former is my favorite. "Bart! Get out of the Spirit of St. Louis!"
One of my favorite features of this box set is the commentary, which is not only provided by the show runners, writers and the ever present Matt Groening this time around, but also by the voice cast for the Simpsons themselves, Nancy Cartwright, Julie Cavner, Yeardley Smith and of course Dan Castellaneta. It's actually quite funny, since not only do they discuss their memories of working on many of the episodes (they're featured in all but a few of them), but sometimes they do it in some of their character voices. It's quite funny to hear Dan switch from his normal voice into Krusty or Homer's right in the middle of a sentence, which he does on occasion. Only Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer are absent from the commentary here, but Hank shows up in one episode of Season 4..
Another neat feature as I may have mentioned in a prior Simpsons review, is the fact that you can listen to the episodes on muitple languages. Before they were only available in French but now you can listen to them in Spanish as well. It's quite funny to hear the Spanishh or French version of Homer's classic D'oh! This is in no way intended to be a slight on Spanish or French people. I've just always had a fascination for hearing movies I grew up with in other languages, particularly if I can't speak the language in question.
But getting on with the review here, this season also features an episode that, if memory serves, won Marsha Wallace an award for outstanding voiceover performance for Mrs. Krabappel. I refer, of course, to Bart the Lover, where Bart takes his revenge on Mrs. Krabappel for a long stint of detentions by responding to her personal add by posing as a sexy man named Woodrow, only to feel gilty later when Woodrow stands her up. The subplot of Homer trying to swear off swearing is also quite funny. So if you haven't already done so and you're collecting Simpsons DVD's, you should definitely pick this one up. It reminds us all of what the show once was.

I've never seen FG Season 3 because I was not into the show when it was on the air and I've heard they were the best (S 1-3). I think it is funny and find the current seasons are good also.

Editorial Review:

Family Guy Volume 2 sees the return of America's most outrageous animated family with all 21 Season Three episodes, plus one never-before-seen episode - "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein" banned from TV, and only available in this collection!

In this hilarious final volume, the Griffin family faces all-new dilemmas, including Brian's unintentional foray into directing porn, Stewie's rants on national TV, Meg's date with a nudist and Lois' Yuletide insanity.

Meanwhile, Peter is surprised to discover Lois was once a groupie, and his son, Chris, is more "endowed" than he is.

"You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel." 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The Simpsons' fifth season (1993/94) falls just short of the radar in terms of the apparent attempts (by British TV at least) to rerun the show into submission by scheduling every episode from seasons 6 through 9 in almost weekly rotation. In this sense therefore, there is likely to be a few gems in this set which may have evaded even avid viewers for a year or two at least. The last thing The Simpsons needs is another champion, so I won't preach about how great the show is (please see below). What I will say is that the commentaries are both amusing and informative in their own right and have ultimately served to enhance my appreciation of the show. All in all (whilst not my own all-time favourite) a classic season with some canonical episodes.

I have chosen a line or exchange of dialogue from each of season 5's episodes that always amuses me (as opposed to episode synopses) and listed them below. I hope you can get a laugh out of them too.

1. `Homer's Barbershop Quartet'

* Bart: "Oh boy - free trading cards!"
* Milhouse: "Wow, Joseph of Aramathea - 26 conversions in A.D. 46!"
* Nelson: "Woah - a Methuselah rookie card!!"

2. `Cape Feare'

* Homer: "Oh my God! Someone's trying to kill me!! Oh wait, it's for Bart."

3. `Homer Goes to College'

* Benjamin: "Come on Mr Simpson, you'll never pass this course if you don't know the Periodic Table."
* Homer: "Meh, I'll write it on my hand."
* Benjamin: "Oh - including all known actinides and lanthanides?? Good luck!!"

4. `Rosebud'

* Smithers: "Look at all the wonderful things you have, Mr Burns: King Arthur's Excalibur, the only existing nude photo of Mark Twain, and that rare first draft of the constitution with the word `suckers' in it."

5. `Treehouse of Horror IV'

* Willie: "Me mule wouldn't walk in the mud - so I had to put 17 bullets in `im."

6. `Marge on the Lam'

* Marge: "I'm disappointed in you, but it turns out I had a wonderful time with Ruth Powers. In fact, we're going out again tomorrow night."
* Homer: "Marge, that's twice - I think you're spending entirely too much time with this woman!"

7. `Bart's Inner Child'

* Brad Goodman: "We can all learn a lot from this young man here, this..."
* Bart: "Rutiger."

8. `Boy-Scoutz N the Hood'

* Marge: "I know you think the Junior Campers are square and `uncool' but they also do a lot of neat things, like sing-alongs and flag ceremonies."
* Homer: "Marge, don't discourage the boy! Weaselling out of things is important to learn - it's what separates us from the animals...except the weasel."

9. `The Last Temptation of Homer'

* Sherri & Terri: "Nice glasses, Four-Eyes!!"
* Nelson: "Yeah, nice shoes...err...Two-Feet."

10. `$pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)'

* Kent Brockman: "Things aren't as happy as they used to be down here at the unemployment office. Joblessness is no longer just for philosophy majors - useful people are starting to feel the pinch."

11. `Homer the Vigilante'

* Homer: "So I said to him, `Look buddy, your car was upside down when we got here. And as for your grandma, she shouldn't have mouthed-off like that!'"

12. `Bart Gets Famous'

* Martin: "When will we be able to see a finished box, Sir?"
* Box Factory Guy: "Oh, we don't assemble them here. That's done in Flint, Michigan."

13. `Homer and Apu'

* James Woods: "How can it be the same movie if they've changed my character from a tightly-wound convenience-store clerk to a jittery Eskimo firefighter?,,,uh-huh...Mm-hm...well, actually that's a pretty good explanation."

14. `Lisa vs. Mailbu Stacey'

* Lisa: "It's awful being a kid. No one listens to you."
* Grandpa: "It's rotten being old. No one listens to you."
* Homer: "I'm a white male, age 18 to 49 - everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are!" (grabs a can marked `Nuts & Gum: Together at last!')

15. `Deep Space Homer'

* NASA Guy: "People - that's who we need for our next astronaut."
* Babcock: "I suggest a lengthy, ineffective seach - at the taxpayers' expense, of course."
* NASA Guy: "I wish there was an easier way."

16. `Homer Loves Flanders'

* Homer: "I want everyone to know that this is Ned Flanders, my friend!"
* Lenny: "What did he say?"
* Karl: "I dunno, something about being gay."

17. `Bart Gets an Elephant'

* Homer: "Well, these bills'll have to be paid out of your allowance."
* Bart: "You'll have to raise my allowance to about $1,000 a week."
* Homer: "Then that's what I'll do, smart guy!"

18. `Burns' Heir'

* Burns: "Now I have no one left to leave my enormous fortune to."
* Smithers: "Ahem."
* Burns: "You, Smithers? Oh no, my dear friend - I've planned a far greater reward for you. When I pass on you shall be buried alive with me!"
* Smithers: "Oh...goodie."

19. `Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song'

* Skinner: "Now I finally have time to do what I've always wanted - write the great American novel. Mine is about a futuristic amusement park where dinosaurs are brought to life through advanced cloning techniques. I call it `Billy and the Clonosaurus.'"

20. `The Boy Who Knew Too Much'

* Skinner: "'Please excuse my handwiritng, I busted whichever hand it is I write with. Signed Mrs Simpson.' You were right to be suspicious, Edna!"

21. `Lady Bouvier's Lover'

* Marge: "Homie, you know it's funny - both my mother and your father seem pretty lonely."
* Homer: "Hehehehe - that is funny."

22. `Secrets of a Successful Marriage'

* Homer: "I'm not out of order - you're out of order! The whole freakin' system is out of order! You want the truth? You want the truth?? You can't handle the truth! Coz when you reach over and put your hand into a pile of goo, that was your best friend's face - you'll know what to do! Forget it Marge, it's Chinatown!!"

eagerly awaited, NO disappointment 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Almost endlessly imaginative and hilarious! The robot chicken crew has again come through with beautifully-made figure-and-clay animation shorts that elevate, then skewer a mix of pop culture, dream life, and "real" life. You've got to see their take on the manger scene, or members of the Justice League of America living life between acts of heroism! Only Star Wars is sacred; everything else -- watch out!

An Extremely Hilarious Season!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

I received this as an early Christmas present a few hours ago and I watched them all! There are all very funny and I laughed 'til I cried! There are a lot of awesome skits like Popeye being addicted to Spinach, The Worst HALLOWEEN, President Bush dealin with a Gremlin, Jesus Christ stars in 'The 33 Year Old Virgin, being raped by a ghost, movie trailers, celebrate Christmas, and much more! If you love the series, you'll love ROBOT CHICKEN: SEASON THREE!!!

Robot Chicken Season 3 3 out of 5 stars.

Another Classic 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

As for what is now and forever be classic television, the Simpsons are on the top. The first season was a bit choppy and underdeveloped and with this season it is easy to see that things are starting to come together and that the writers and animators are working the bugs out.

The high point of season two, the real reason to make sure that you own it is that this seasons begins the annual tradition that is the "Treehouse of Horror" specials that have always been amazingly done. This particular episode gives us the amazing creation of the Simpsons doing "The Raven" as read by the great James Earl Jones. It is worth the price if just for that.

Unwitty Humor Scores Again and Hating White People has Never Been Cooler! 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I suppose since the Family Guy era has taken its stronghold over Adult Swim, the folks at Cartoon Network feel the need to keep this show, as well as Moral Orel and any other waste-of-space TV show that lowers the standard of humor to unfathomable levels for today's viewers.

I usually can get over it, but Boondocks is one of those shows that not only recycles every single racist joke and stereotype that used to make people laugh, but the head writer, Aaron McGruder plagues his show with contradiction. It's great that he's a guy who preaches racial harmony and unity; however, his show preaches nothing but hatred for white people (but I guess that's okay for some). Now McGruder does play with multiple racial stereotypes, but the end result is something that isn't positive, beneficial, or even funny for anyone of any race, age, sex, or religion... and this is coming from me, one of the biggest South Park fans around.

Editorial Review:

Based on aaron mcgruders comic strip. Huey a 10-year-old leftist revolutionary & his 8-year-old misfit brother riley leaev the rough chicago south side for the relative peacefulness of the suburbs. Although the boys torture each other & provoke the neighborhood they are no match for eccentric grandad. Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 07/25/2006 Run time: 323 minutes

I start my review this way because The Simpsons is approching Season 20 as I write this review. And only in the last several years has the show started to show serious signs of age!I am 28 now and this is a Simpson season I fondly remember one of my fathers' co-workers dubbing off of cable for us because we didn't have it;it was on right before "Married With Children" at the time if I recall. I cannot watch this season without images of "Don't Have A Cow Man" T-Shirts and even McDonalds offering a line of Simpson dolls;for a time they were as big a marketing item as The Beatles were in the 60's. It's funny how irreverant,witty,anti-authoritarian figures such as The Beatles and The Simpsons could have any capitalist angles but they did. But these 13 shows have a lot of special meaning to me. In this season Bart cheats on a test and ends up branded a genious,Marge has a near affair with a hursuit bowling teacher,Lisa jams her blues away with local jazzman Bleeding Gums Murphy (am I the only Simpson fan out there who liked this character?) and the entire family give each other electroshock treatment. Of course being when this is this season sometimes seems like the Bart Simpson show;Bart goes to France,Bart fights a bully,Bart outsmarts the babysitter bandit,Bart reveals Sideshow Bob had framed Krusty The Clown,etc. But before Homer became the breakout character Bart was the star vehicle. But that doesn't matter.Neither does the difference in the animation;the main characters have very rubbery movements,a lot of the backround characters are either horrible mutants or just look like blobs with faces in the crowd scenes. Not only that but Bart isn't as full of clever quips as he would be later,Homer talks more like Walter Matheau then he would later on and Ned Flanders hasn't yet become a religious fanatic;he was just the Simpsons yuppie neighbor at this point. But as a later Simpsons episode pointed out sometimes TV show change after a pilot or first season;some characters are baught upfront or pushed into the backround and sometimes you can change them almost entirely. Interestingly enough this would be the last of The Simpsons I'd see for another five years;I caught seasons 2 and on through network syndication. I have since diligantly purchased the DVD sets and will continue to do so but still this stands out as really one of my favorite Simpson seasons.

I like Family Guy a lot even though I just got in to it at the beginning of the year I seen almost all the episodes. This is the first half of the 4th season which is my favorite season. This is also the last season not to begin in September and to have more then 18 episodes. It's a really funny show.

Fans will have to wait no longer for the next Volume of Family Guy on DVD! The hilarious first part of Emmy nominated Season 4 will have you laughing like you've never laughed before. Edgier and more irreverant than ever, you'll forget you've ever heard the term "Politically Correct!" The must-have DVD of the season -- any self-respecting guy will own Family Guy Volume 3 on November 29th.
