To bleep or not to bleep... 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

First of all, I absolutely love Robot Chicken.

However, the Season 2 DVD set let me down in one way: the only option was uncensored. I found myself not laughing as much. I'm not sure why exactly, but I at least find the censored version to be more entertaining. Hearing the bleeps instead of the words makes me laugh more for some reason. For making uncensored the only option, I had to take away a star, which is a sad thing for me.

Just a little more explanation: It would have been nice if there were a way to have some sort of setting to turn the bleeps on or off, that way those who prefer it uncensored have it and those who prefer it censored have it as well. I can't imagine it would be THAT hard.

That should not stop you from enjoying this though. For any Robot Chicken fan, this is really great to have. More of the greatness from Season 1, and something I have watched many times and will watch many times in the future.

So when I was young, I was a huge metal fan and worked on crews for many a metal band. I grew out of it for the most part, but the first time I caught this show on TV I was laughing my butt off.

Mind you, a lot of the humor is really for metal fans and those of you that are not into metal music or never have been may not get some of it, writing it off as stupid. Let me tell you, to the correct audience, this is one of the funniest things ever.

From the song called "Mermaid Murder" on the album of metal that was written for fishes (Not for Human ears), to the 80's rock and roll clown Dr. Rockzo (Who does cocaine), I enjoyed every second of this first season and I am eagerly awaiting the second.

Good thing also that this show is one of those 15 minutes per episode shows because I could see the show getting a bit old after watching for 30 minutes or so.

The characters are funny and well written. I love it.

Craziest Season Yet! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This show is originally crazy, it gets crazier every year. But this season is so crazy that it somewhat lost all its funny. It's still a funny show, just funny in a very silly, crazy, F***ed up sort of way.

I really enjoyed it!

What Happened? 1 out of 5 stars.

Horrible. I laughed only twice the whole time. The part where Meatwad joined the Marines, and the part where he blows up Shake. Thats it. This is the worse season they have had so far.

O.K., but doesn't live up to the hype. 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Volume Six is o.k. There are some genuinly funny stuff here, but the "Carl's Pissed" segments are the best part of the whole boxset. "Shake Like Me" is going to rile a lot of people up, but it's still pretty funny. The episode about the dummies is the absolute stupidest thing I've ever seen and the creators should be embarrased to have to have their names associated with it. "Marines" is hilarious, probably the funniest episode on the whole thing. "Bible Fruit" is kinda lame, but I could be prejudiced since I don't care for David Cross. All in all, a good buy for serious collectors, but really remarkable enough for the casual viewer. Then again, who is buying so obscure a cartoon as ATHF who is not a serious viewer? By far, volume six is leagues above volume five, but the shows best years seem to behind it.

Bawk-bawk-WOW!! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Indeed, that is what you will say, if you've never seen Robot Chicken before. On the surface, each episode seems like crudely done stop motion animation--but delve a little deeper. The real magic is in the tightly written (and gloriously gloriously violent!!) episodes that revel in the non-sequitor and the from way way out of left field references you may pick up on. A typical episode has two main running stories that last about 3-5 minutes with a veritable crapload of Laugh-In style gags thrown in. If you are expecting high-brow humor, it will be there, but this show is more akin to the Family Guy with jokes that run the gamit of being surreal and obscure to very crude (fart/vomit/and sex scenes abound). Although I'm not partial to fart jokes, there is a really good skit about what happens when Mikey gets ahold of a pop rocks and soda. My favorite skits: The Great Pumpkin Skit--Linus's reaction shot after he conjures his pumpkin has to be seen to be believed! The Smurf murder mystery--complete with all those annoying Smurfin' references The Bloopers--these can get very out of control! As for extras, each episode has a commentary track to it. In fact, my advice is to watch two or three episodes one day and then watch them again the next day with the commentary playing. It's not exactly revelatory, but Seth and Matt should get their kudos for giving each episode (all 20 of them!) their personal attention. The Pros for this set: deleted scenes for many of the skits, uncensored puppet violence, and a very reasonable price tag (I paid $13 and it was worth every cent!) The Cons: the commentary tracks tend to ramble and not make much sense sometimes; the worst: the censored dialogue--I don't know if the bleeping was intended by Seth and Matt, but I was expecting an uncensored version like what Family Guy gives you: I mean, come one, it would have been worth it to hear Pokemon really going off.....

D'oh! I love the Season 8! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Yeah, its great. When I first got it, it was because it had two episodes I had seen on the plane home from England to Los Angeles to New Zealand. I resulted in watching the episodes that included Bart meeting his mad Siamese twin who is intent on sewing them together again, Homer causes a new person at his work to go mad and electrocute himself while saying "What's this? Extremely high voltage? Well, I don't need safety gloves, because I'm Homer Simp-", Milhouse's parents divorce, and so on. There are great songs in this such as "The Spring in Springfield", "Happy Just the Way We Are" and "Minimum Wage Nanny". I especially like the episode when Ned Flanders yells at Springfield and says a whole lot of mean things. He yells at Marge that her family's out of control, he gets mad at Bart, he says Lisa interrupts all the time, he says Krusty the Klown isn't funny.

These seasons were terrible 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I like Family Guy and apparently so does America since Seth was just signed for a pile of money throughout 2012. Honestly these first seasons are absolutely terrible, these seasons illustrate how they were trying to borrow from the Simpsons too heavily and not very good at it as well. It was only after they found what works for them (cheap cude and over the top) and flash backs later on which make them worth watching. I suggest to skip these first few seasons as they add little to the plot and really make for some aweful comedy.

Meet the Griffins: Peter, the big, lovable oaf who always says what’s on his mind. Lois, the doting mother who can’t figure out why her baby son keeps trying to kill her. Their daughter Meg, the teen drama queen who’s constantly embarrassed by her family. Chris, the beefy 13-year-old who wouldn’t hurt a fly, unless it landed on his hot dog. Stewie, the maniacal one-year-old bent on world domination. And Brian, the sarcastic dog with a wit as dry as the martinis he drinks. The animated adventures of his outrageous family will have your whole family laughing out loud.

The Best Season In My Books 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I've been an avid Simpsons viewer for years, and out of all of the episodes I have seen, Season 7 has some of the funniest and most creative episodes. The season aired from the fall of 1995 to the spring of 1996, and it brought a whole bunch of new things to the table.

In Season 7, we witness some of the craziest things the yellow skinned family has done. It starts where Season 6 left off, when they discover who shot Mr. Burns. Lisa begins her vegetarian lifestyle, Homer gains a bunch of weight to get himself some worker's compensation, former President George H.W. Bush moves next door to the family, Bart and Lisa discover some shocking truths around the town, Milhouse gains the role of Fallout Boy, and Bart gets a fake I.D. at his visit to the DMV. Each episode has plenty of laughs and memorable moments. Highly recommended.

Editorial Review:

Season 7 of this beloved animated series includes the famous "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" episode and Tree House of Horror VI. Chock full of extras, this season is a tremendous asset to any DVD collection

funny 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I just saw Robot Chicken's *second* Star Wars parody tonight. Forgot they did another one and just came across it and it blew my mind. Guess the first one was so successful they had to do another and it compares to the first Robot Chicken Star Wars like the second Star Wars movie compares to the first one. It's better. I'd say WAY better. So, see this first one and then be sure to watch the second one. Is there anything more ripe for parody than Star Wars movies?! (Except U.S. presidential politics of coarse). The sheer absurdity of the mostly poorly made Star Wars films combined with the fact that people still have an interest and still love them -or at least the originals, and know them scene by scene makes for a unique creative opportunity. The result of the Robot Chicken crew's hard work couldn't be better. Parody as art. Thumbs up. (And way better than Family Guy's effort ;-) You probably don't need to buy it. They play 'em on Cartoon Network over and over, but hey, it's your money.

Yet another great season 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Season 4 in yet another great season of the simpsons it also has 1 of the best halloween episodes in Treehouse Of Horror III there are some greats stories the 1 with the killer krusty doll has to be the best in which homer gets bart a krusty doll from a gypsie and it ends up trying to kill him in another 1 bart revives some zombies and they go on killing spree around springfield in which you see 1 of the best jokes ever where they go up to homer and knock on his head looking for brains but it turns out he has no brain

Love it 5 out of 5 stars.

I absolutely love this season, I bought season 1-4 because in my opinion those are the only ones worth having. It is my belief that after season 5 the series went down.

Episodes GREAT, DVD format NOT SO GREAT 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Do not get me wrong, I am a HUGE Simpsons fan! I have seasons 1 through 9 and I still laugh at the jokes. This season has one of the best lisa episodes in the whole series, "I Love Lisa." It also has such classics as the season opening, "Kamp Krusty" and the season finale, "Krusty gets Kancelled." With so many more episodes I can not complain on any level about the storytelling or the acting or the animation.

The only problem I have with the dvd is the menu format for the DVD. It certainly seems that the season 4 dvds are the black sheep of all the seasons. The menu set up is not very simpsonesque. This is the only criticism that I have for the dvd. Otherwise, Enjoy the season! oh also, with buying this simpsons dvd, as with any others, listen to the commentaries. It has some great insight for the show's running.
