GET THIS MOVIE!!!!! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is my favorite movie in the Futurama series, by far. The first one sucked, the second one was good, but this recent installment was hilariously awesome and just the BEST!! The artistry was very precise, which made the movie that much better.

I pre-ordered this movie and I am so glad that I did. When I saw that movie on my doorstep, my husband wanted us to wait until we moved into our new home to watch it - we saw it that very same day. I have seen this movie almost ten times and I got it on November 5th! This is a movie that will DEFINITELY not disappoint!!!!

What Happened!? 2 out of 5 stars.

I am A huge Futurama fan. Have every episode and love how smart and well timed the comedy can be. As much as I want to love this installment, I can't. Benders big Game is A Big let down. The comedy is so low-brow and the story and dialog is poorly written in comparison to everything that has been done up till now.

-"Benders big score" felt like Futurama well seasoned.
-"The Beast with a billion Backs" felt like a really long episode.
-"Benders game", has too many holes, not enough why?, The jokes all lean toward potty humor (that's not just because one of the castles is design after a toilet), and some jokes are dragged out till you wanna say, "and we are still talking about this, because.....?"
It feels like the writers have taken lessons from family guy and later bad episodes of the Simpsons. The comedy isn't smart, too much sensless humor, an advertisment for a knife commercial that feels like it lasts for 5 minutes (I laughed in the first 30 seconds then it became annoying), they had rosie the robot from the Jetsons in the robot insane asylum), an apearence form the tele-tubies in a fantasy scene, a side story (in support of a larger concept, leelas rage) shock collar gag on leela that ends up going no where, and on top of that and then some we have a very long build up of wasted story time until we finally get to the meat, in this case, benders fake fantasy world, which has limitless possibility, and wasn't taken advantage of the way many fans would hope.

on a side note: if the time is taken to watch the commentary, (bluray lets your see them talk) I was in aw that they basically don't pay attention to the story or whats happening on the screen, and spend the time making jokes to entertain themselves, unless there is too much gross on the screen then they all cringe.... I said it before, "what happened!?"

I can't give this movie five stars just because I wanted to love it, and one or two decent laughs doesn't mean five stars either.
-For Futurama fans and non- fans alike the last thought would be, Rent this before you buy it!

a disappointing waste of time and money 3 out of 5 stars.
4 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I used to really enjoy Family guy, but in all honesty, I think I've just lost interest, or at least I've outgrown its more recent style of humor. I don't mind the half season DVDs; that's just the way it is, and if you're a fan, you'll suck it up and buy it regardless. I do wish that I would have bought this at amazon rather than paying $12 more for it locally, however. I really liked volumes 1 and 2 of this show; Volumes 3 and 4 were still quite enjoyable, although the anti-Christian and, to a lesser extent, the anti-Bush things were beginning to bother me a little. Even volume 5 was mostly OK; The coolwhip bit will absolutely never get old for me, and I got a real kick out of watching the anamatic episodes.
This brings me to Volume 6. Even though I've primarily been into watching my ever-growing collection of British DVDs lately, I popped the first disc of Family Guy Volume 6 into the DVD player almost as soon as I got it home. Ever since Volume 3, I've always gone for watching the commentary tracks first; even though they're somewhat offensive in places, I've more often than not found them to be both humorous and informative. I didn't even make it off the first disc this time. Maybe I was just in the wrong frame of mind, or perhaps I've just become too accustomed to the practicly wholesome nature, at least when compared with these most recent episodes of Family Guy, to British TV shows.
Whatever the reason, I just couldn't bring myself to watch past the 3rd or 4th episode of Family Guy Volume 6.
I know I'll probably get negative feedback for this review, but even though I am a concervative Christian, I like to think I have a good sense of humor. I don't like profanity, but can handle it in small amounts if necessary.
The things I don't like about family guy these days are the changes several other people have mentioned regarding Stewie.
More than that, though, I don't like the character of Herbert; that character is creepy, not at all funny, and should have never become such a regular. The other thing that really bothers me is that Brian dates human women. He's supposed to be a dog! Also, at least so far as I can tell, Brian seems to be primarily responsible for a lot of the anti-Christian and anti-Bush remarks that seem to be dominating the show recently.
Bottom line, I got this volume of Family Guy to keep my collection complete, but I wish that I would have waited to buy it when I could have gotten it much cheaper. For the time being, however, I believe that my money would have been much better if saved up and put towards completing either my Hugh Laurie or David Jason DVD collections.

Horrible Packaging 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I like The Simpsons and I have liked the series for a long time. I religiously buy the DVDs when they are available. However, there is one thing that I don't like about The Simpsons and it is the terrible packaging the manufacturers create - and it keeps getting worse as the seasons progress. This season is no different. For instance, the outer case is bulky with Krusty's image and it does not fit on the shelf. Because of the awkwardness of the package, the manufacturers provide you with an ill-conceived plain plastic wrap to protect your collector's item, which makes the total outer package look even more awkward. Then on the inside, the DVD sleeves are basically two pieces of thin paperboard tightly glued at the edges, so the DVDs are sandwiched in between the sheets of paperboard. These disc "protectors" make retrieving the discs difficult. So difficult, that I purchased the DVDs over a month ago and I have to make it to the last two discs, because pulling out the DVDs feels like a task.
Like I said, I really like The Simpsons, but this is getting bad to the point that I don't know if I will buy next set in the series.

When the show was still good HORRIBLE PACKAGE 4 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

A good season of the show.
NO longer at it's best but season 11 is much better than the show is now.

Took WAY TOO LONG to release season 11 to DVD after the release of the movie to DVD December 2007.

Good extras as normal with the set. Other film makers should pay attention. Most TV DVD packages have little to NO extras. Even with season 11 at least we get a wide choice of extras to look at. And, they still have the brochure with info on each episode & extras.

I still have every episode on tape. Yes, I still have a VCR & tape everyone.

But, MY MAJOR COMPLAINT WITH THIS PACKAGE.

HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE.
It is 1 of these packages where you have to open both ends to get the inside with the discs to come out. ONCE YOU GO THROUGH ALL THAT UNNECESSARY WORK YOU HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THE DISCS OUT OF THE TIGHT HOLDING AREA.

WHOEVER THOUGHT THIS UP IS AN IDIOT!!

That's all we the public who buys these want-UNNECESSARY WORK!!

Editorial Review:

At once a merciless skewering of all things fanboy and an extremely satisfying addition to the Futurama franchise, Bender's Game is among the best of the animated series' feature length adventures. The game in question is Dungeons and Dragons, and Bender wants in--only robots aren't programmed with the necessary imagination. Naturally, Bender's plans to develop one go completely awry and land him in an android asylum. The role-playing plotline later re-emerges--in typically convoluted Futurama fashion--via a subplot involving Professor Farnsworth's conversion of dark matter into spaceship fuel, which created a key to a very D&D-influenced universe where our hapless heroes eventually find themselves. The alternate world storyline allows for much lampooning of fantasy tropes, with Lord of the Rings receiving the lion's share of the tweaks. Seeing as how the writers have already devoted much of the movie's running time to parodying Star Wars and Star Trek (and their Lego offshoots), one might think that Bender's Game might suffer from pop-culture overload, but surprisingly, it all feels fresh and frequently funny, and the writers are wise to ground the story in their eccentric characters rather than pinballing them through an endless string of gags. The result is probably the strongest of the direct-to-DVD Futurama releases to date, and one that newcomers to the show's cracked universe can appreciate as much as longtime fans.As with previous Futurama DVD releases, the extras come fast and furious on Bender's Game: commentary by members of the cast and production team (including Matt Groening) is both informative and funny, while interviews with the writers and producers discuss, among other topics, the influence of Dungeons and Dragons on the series and the 3D models used in the feature. Aspiring animators might appreciate "How To Draw Futurama in 83 Easy Steps and the storyboard animatic for the first part of the story, while the "Genetics Lab" feature allows for some amusing Dr. Moreau-style cross-breeding of the characters. Recording session bloopers and a deleted scene offer their own laughs, but the most enjoyable extra must be the preview for the next Futurama feature, Into the Wild Green Yonder, which suggests a shocking development for one of the show's regulars. -- Paul Gaita

Odd defect 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

The 5 star rating is for the show itself, but I'm on my second copy of this DVD set and I'm experiencing the same weird defect. The subtitles pop up at the beginning of each skit for about 10 seconds or so and then disappear. Otherwise the discs play normally. I haven't seen anything reported about this online, and I can't imagine it's isolated to the 2 copies I got. So it's back to Best Buy to try out a 3rd copy.

Strong Buy for those in their 30s 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

With the third outing of Seth Green's Robot Chicken, once again a collection of random stop-action toy skits lasting about thirty seconds a piece, the animation is even more smooth and the funny ideas keep coming. They continue to plumb and parody ideas mostly from 80s toys with a few more modern references, so it helps if you know the period (MASK is a pretty obscure reference, as well as the non-lion Voltron). Yes, that is Stan Lee and the Micro Machines guy. At about ten minutes an episode, it's great TV for the ADD generation in small doses, and works well when you can see them together and pause at a few scenes.

These seasons were terrible 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I like Family Guy and apparently so does America since Seth was just signed for a pile of money throughout 2012. Honestly these first seasons are absolutely terrible, these seasons illustrate how they were trying to borrow from the Simpsons too heavily and not very good at it as well. It was only after they found what works for them (cheap cude and over the top) and flash backs later on which make them worth watching. I suggest to skip these first few seasons as they add little to the plot and really make for some aweful comedy.

I cry from laughing so hard 5 out of 5 stars.

This is my favorite televison series. The episodes are laugh-out-loud funny and so is the commentary by the cast and crew.

Freakin' Awesome! 5 out of 5 stars.

STOP complaining Please!!! 4 out of 5 stars.

I wish people would just enjoy the show for what it is instead of bashing it on here. If (in my opinion) you want to comment on it say something positive not negative. THere's enough negative crap in the world as it is. Sure every show and movie out there has flaws. Nobody is perfect. You know there is a button on your t.v. remote that says on/off you know. Stewie is my fave character! I got the family guy bendable set and a Stewie plush animated doll. HILARIOUS!!! SOmeone always comments on it when new people come over. You know they should make a movie: "Chucky vs. Stewie"! That would've been better I believe than the "Seed of CHucky". THink about it, there both bout the same size and both have overalls. Hmmmm. What you all think? Just a idea. I got a few Chucky dolls from 12" to 30" too. That Stewie Halloween costume is cool too!

Robot Chicken was pretty funny and the only handicap is that it is was too short...Funny situations, exploring some really extreme what if scenarios from the Star Wars Saga. I think that Seth really did great work and I loved the doll animations.

I just saw Robot Chicken's *second* Star Wars parody tonight. Forgot they did another one and just came across it and it blew my mind. Guess the first one was so successful they had to do another and it compares to the first Robot Chicken Star Wars like the second Star Wars movie compares to the first one. It's better. I'd say WAY better. So, see this first one and then be sure to watch the second one. Is there anything more ripe for parody than Star Wars movies?! (Except U.S. presidential politics of coarse). The sheer absurdity of the mostly poorly made Star Wars films combined with the fact that people still have an interest and still love them -or at least the originals, and know them scene by scene makes for a unique creative opportunity. The result of the Robot Chicken crew's hard work couldn't be better. Parody as art. Thumbs up. (And way better than Family Guy's effort ;-) You probably don't need to buy it. They play 'em on Cartoon Network over and over, but hey, it's your money.
