DEAD ZONE SEASON 4 I AM VERY HAPPY WITH ALL MY DVDS I HAVE RECIVED FROM AMAZON IT HAS BEEN THE BEST MOVIE SITE I HAVE FOUND

Dead Zone gets better 4 out of 5 stars.

OK not everybody is a dead zone fan. I am. I don't like the relationship between Johnny and Sarah. I grow weary of the Stilson storyline and especially the X-Files treatment of it. I guess the writers can go there whenever their creativity takes a break. That said I really liked season 4. Johnny meets a girl psychic, a good episode, and it closes with a bonus Christmas Episode that is my ALL TIME favorite episode of Dead Zone. This season is worth it for any Dead Zone fan, and is a MUST for a serious fan.

Episodes are good - but DVD has manufacturing flaw... 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this series soon after it came out, but am just watching it now. It seems whoever manufactured this season's DVD set goofed. When you go to Select Episode (which is what I always do, since I watch one here and there). The list of available episodes is only TWO (although there are FOUR on the DVD). I can see absolutely no way to access the other two episodes unless I go to PLAY ALL and then fast forward (which might not work on all DVD players) to the episode I wish to view. It's really inconvenient. I just thought I'd warn you. But yes - I'd still buy it - I enjoy The Dead Zone episodes, although I like the "threads" to surface in the stories more frequently.

Editorial Review:

Dean Martin stars as the original swinger agent, Matt Helm, in this four-disc set including: THE SILENCERS, MURDERERS ROW, THE WRECKING CREW, and THE AMBUSHERS.

THE SILENCERS: The first of the series of Matt Helm films, the big cheese of Big O, an organization that wants to sabotage the American atomic missile system. It's up to secret agent Helm to save the day.

MURDERER'S ROW: The handsome top agent Matt dies a tragic death in his bathtub - the women mourn about the loss. However it's just faked for his latest top-secret mission: He shall find Dr. Solaris, inventor of the Helium laser beam, powerful enough to destroy a whole continent. It seems Dr. Solaris has been kidnapped by a criminal organization. The trace leads to the Cote D'Azur.

THE AMBUSHERS: A government space saucer is hijacked mid-flight by a powerful laser beam under the control of Jose Ortega, who then proceeds to rape the female pilot, Sheila Sommars. ICE sends agent Matt Helm to Acapulco with Sheila to recover the saucer, under the guise of Matt taking fashion photographs of beautiful models. Matt is temporarily sidetracked, falling prey to the seductive charms of enemy agent Franceca Madeiros.

THE WRECKING CREW: The count has stolen enough gold to cause a financial crisis in the world markets so I.C.E. sends in ace spy Matt Helm to stop him. As Matt works alone, the British send in Freya to aid Matt, but it seems that Freya causes more problems than she solves.

a big disappointment after the great book, but OK on its own 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

To be honest, I did not think that 3 hours could encompass the incredible depth and complexity of Bradley's masterwork. But I got this out of curiosity and because my kids would probably enjoy it. I am sorry to report that this film barely sufficed to hold my interest - I constantly thought back with disappointment to the book I read (and vividly remember from) nearly 20 years ago, which had phenomenal character development and covered every aspect the Arthur myth from a new point of view. Nonetheless, I feel that this film requires a careful review on its own.

The theme of the story is the collision of two religions, one the pagan earth goddess and the other christian monotheism. Morgaine, long portrayed as an evil heathen, is the most sympathetic actor in this version, both a victim of political machination and also a fighter to preserve the old religion. Julianna Margulies is a truly wonderful Morgaine, too beautiful perhaps, but she really gets the character. The problem is that the film if too short to chart her evolution, from acolyte to rebel to leader, all the time recognizing the tragedy as it unfolds so inexorably. The same can be said of Huston, who is a wonderful Viviane (ruthless, loving, desperate, majestic), and Allen as the cold and ambitious Morgause. The only way they could have succeeded would have been to triple the time of the film. The film also succeeds in placing the men on the side - less aware of the forces at play than as men of action. The male actors, all of whom are lesser known than the three female stars, are all very good.

That being said, as it progresses, the film is less and less faithful to the novel, again in part because it has to truncate the plots, shrink back the themes, and eliminate characters. For example, in the book, Merlin is succeeded by a crippled musician who becomes Morgaine's lover for years; he then concludes that the religion is finished, hands over the pagan chalice that is transmogrified into the holy grail in a transcendently sad scene of religious vision, and his punishment is death. That is such a rich episode that you could make an entire film just of that. There is another scene in the book that I recall, in which Mordred and Lancelot duel in a tournament, which exhausts and humiliates the aging Lancelot, signaling a passage that the witnesses instantly recognize. Again, this kind of character development is impossible in the short time available.

In the end, I would recommend this version to those who have not read the book - but only as way to get them to read the book.

Editorial Review:

The King is dead, long live the King, but who will it be? The answer is found on the battlefields and in the mystical and powerful manipulations of fate emanating from the women of the legendary isle of Avalon in this intrigue-filled retelling of the King Arthur/Camelot legend. Starring Julianna Margulies, Anjelica Huston, Joan Allen, Caroline Goodall, Edward Atterton, and Samantha Mathis.

Great Show For an Acquired Taste 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Sealab is a great parody of Hannah Barbara's Sealab 2020 using new voices and animations to turn a mundane show into somewhat of a underground classic. This show takes the crew of a underwater research station and puts them through ridiculous scenarios and is one of the funniest shows of this generation. If you aren't a fan of random comedy and animated humor then this show isn't for you and I wouldn't advise you to try it without at least a sample, but if you do like animated humor then purchase these DVD's now.

Editorial Review:

It is the year 2021. In this mind-bogglingly distant future, Sealab rises imperiously from the ocean's floor, her crew charged with exploring the possibility of underwater colonization. That is, when they're not fighting giant squids over a toy oven.* Or running pirate radio stations. Or trying to put their brains into robot bodies. Or going back in time. Or being attacked by flesh-ripping aliens. Or becoming addicted to scorpion venom. Or getting stuck in a storage closet. Or going back in time again. Captain Murphy. Marco. Debbie. Stormy. Doctor Quinn. Dolphin Boy. They're all inside this box, screaming to get out so they can live inside your television. So buy the damn thing and set them free. You'll beridiculously glad you did. Promise. *Makes real cupcakes! With a 40-watt bulb!

The Series Continues... 5 out of 5 stars.

Volume two to the hit series Futurama. Even better than series one with off the wall audio commentaries. Matt Groening really out did himself when he created Futurama.

Not as good as the 1st season 4 out of 5 stars.

Not as original and clever as the 1st season, but still great. Seasons 3 and 4 continued the slide. It's no wonder the show was cancelled.

Good Product 5 out of 5 stars.

For The Slacker College Student 4 out of 5 stars.

There's nothing I like more than watching cartoons just after I wake up mid-afternoon and eating breakfast, and Futurama is one of the best cartoons to accompany that.

It's hard to judge a season of Futurama without judging it against the context of four stellar seasons and two excellent movies, and not on its own merit. Expanded against first season's mere 13 episodes, this season has 19 episodes of sci-fi parody Groening style. As a number of reviewers have stated, each episode is jam packed with visual jokes that requires pausing several times just to get everything. On top of that, we are continued to the continuing adventures of one of the greatest casts in animation history: Fry, Bender, Leela, Professor Farnsworth, and my personal favorite, Dr. Zoidberg.

Some episode highlights include: "Brannigan, Begin Again" where Zapp Brannigan is court martialed and forced to live Midnight Cowboy style, "Raging Bender" where Bender becomes a robot wrestler, "A Bicyclops for Two" where Leela meets fellow cylcops alien "Al"cazar, and "War Is The H-Word" where Fry negotiates peace with the head of Henry Kissinger.

A great alternative to the Simpsons (especially modern Simpsons)!!!

short 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Good movie series. It is exciting and has good plots. I give it only 4 stars because it only has 12 episodes to the season. Most of the stories stand alone but also inter twine with each other in an abstract way. It is best viewed in order. Some of the stories make you think about our government and is this really happening in our day, and make you wonder,or just plain nervous. Some just make you tear up with joy.

Another great season of The Dead Zone. Anthony Michael Hall's portrayal of main character Johnny Smith is brilliant, each episode is wonderfully compelling that takes you into the unknown with his extraordinary sense of touch. I highly recommend purchasing this series on DVD to keep, its great!!

Editorial Review:

Based on the characters and story from the best-selling book by Stephen King, the Dead Zone is a unique psychological thriller that combines a rich mix of action, the paranormal and a continuing quest for justice. Contains the complete third season (episodes 1 - 12).

farscape conclusion 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This was the conclusion to the series made later on, too long after the series was cancelled. They did a good job of concluding the story, however the majic of the regular season episodes was partly lost and it seemed like too many battles and not enough drama. Too bad the sci-fi channel cut it down in it's prime. Farscape was one of the best shows ever on TV.

Farscape: The Peace Keeper Wars 4 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed the premise behind this movie. I have only one real complaint. At the end it stated to be continued and so far I haven't seen a part two.

A satisfying chapter... 5 out of 5 stars.

...of one of the best sci-fi shows of all time. I won't say "end," but if that's how posterity remembers PK Wars, it could have done much, much worse.

Peacekeeper Wars, in short, does a superb job both tying up all dangling plot threads from the Farscape series and leaving openings for wherever the franchise goes next. The special effects, considering that it's a miniseries, are spectacular. The writing is even better--PK Wars loses nothing in the transition from show to miniseries. The characters are their same, bizzarre selves, except on a bit larger scale. The caliber of performance, from everyone involved, is excellent--but that was only to be expected.

That said, PK Wars is NOT a good selection if you're looking to discover Farscape. You will likely leave your experience extremely confused, irritated, and perhaps a bit ill from the overall weirdness of it all. Farscape, unlike Star Trek or many other shows, cannot be picked up at any time--it is very much an arc show, and each episode, although not necessarily a "sequel" to the one before it, very much builds on the character relationships developed previously. The dynamic between all of the members of the spectacular Farscape cast cannot be immediately understood; it's usually too complex and bizzarre for that. PK Wars is very much the conclusion to one ongoing story, (that is, the arc of the original Farscape series) and can no more be watched first than "Return of the King" can be read before the other Lord of the Rings books. That's just...ooh, a terrible thought.

So, the best possible soltion: Watch the rest of the series first! (This is assuming the reader is new to the show. If you are already a Farscape fan: trust me, PK Wars is completely worth it. Every bit as witty and fast as the best parts of the show, and extremely poingnant. Absolutely well done!) Farscape is primarily a show based on relationships and interactions; the plots are fantastic and gripping, but would mean very little without the chemisty and/or tension between the characters. Given the proper time and order to develop, these dynamics will reward the watcher with one of the most complex and thoroughly enjoyable emotional tangles ever to grace your television. (or laptop, or iPod, these days...) But ONLY then. Give the book a chance before you read the epilogue; the ending is only as good as the middle makes it.

And this particular middle makes for one of the best--and most fun!--sci-fi chapters ever written, acted, or viewed. You won't regret your patience.

Ghost Hunters does it again. 5 out of 5 stars.

The Second season part 1 is a mish-mash of good and great investigations. What makes this dvd stand out is the 2 never before seen investigations included in the special features as well as all the deleted and extended scenes from each investigation on this DVD set. Episodes to really watch are the U.S.S. N. Carolina with some great spooky events, and the Queen Mary with some of the best debunking done by the team, as well as, important extended scenes with further information.

Editorial Review:

The smash-hit SciFi Channel show is back for a second season of spooks, shocks and suspense! Plumbers by day, at night Jason and Grant head up TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), a close-knit organization of volunteer paranormal researchers–ordinary people who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity. These self proclaimed skeptics have managed to expose some of the most frighteningly compelling evidence of paranormal phenomenon ever seen on television! Season 2's first 11 episodes are packed with even more excitement, oddities, goose bumps, and strange paranormal behavior than the TAPS team has ever come across before!

Editorial Review:

HOGAN’S HEROES: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON focuses on a group of American soldiers, led by Colonel Hogan (Crane), who are confined in a Nazi prisoner of war camp called Stalag 13 during World War II. While trapped in Stalag 13, the inmates conduct an espionage and sabotage campaign right under the noses of their warders. Because the Germans, led by the bumbling Colonel Wilhelm Klink (Emmy Award™-winning actor Klemperer), are often gullible, the real strength of Hogan’s men are the elaborate ruses and sometimes dangerous lengths they will go to complete their mission.

Futuraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaama 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The 3rd installment/volume of Futurama is as good or better than all the rest. I won't go into each and every episode - quite a few have already done so (better than I ever could). What I will offer is an opinion on the series itself. It's essentially the Seinfeld of animated series. Most, if not all, episodes have infinite longevity. From Fry's endless obsession with Leela to Bender's constant black humor. Zoidberg's self-deprecating humor matched with Farnsworth's constant 2nd place finishes. Amy's pseudo-naivete paired against Kiff's subtle bumblings. Santa-Bot's paradoxical ravings infecting the drunken, whimsical elves (like something out of a Tim Burton "nightmare"). Hermes' steady, Jamaican, taskmaster personality controlling each situation with effectiveness. This series has infinite influences to numerous to fully capture - so I'll stop trying. Futurama has a devoted fan-following for countless reasons. Just watch it - you'll be hooked.
