Terrible Two's Tantrum-Stopper 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

We took this on a 10-hour flight to keep our 24-month-old occupied and she was entranced immediately. Admittedly, Elmo was already her favorite character so the odds were in our favor, but this video has a charming selection of vignettes associated with the title. It's good-humored, has some great sing-along songs and as you would expect it's also informative-educational; pure Sesame Street. We now have a 2-year-old who likes to gallop around the house shouting 'Ee-harrr' and practice putting a blanket and bridle on an imaginary pony.

Editorial Review:

Sesame Street's favorite furry red cowpoke saddles up to learn all about the wild frontier. Join Elmo as he finds out how to ride a horse, kicks up his heels at a hoe down, boards a time-traveling magic stagecoach and more! Featuring classic cowpoke songs, and plenty of fun with his partners the Noodles, Marshall Grover and special guests, country singer Travis Tritt and Broadway's Kristen Chenoweth. Elmo takes viewers young and old on a wonderful ride through the very best of the Wild Wild West! Also, features the brand new Sesame Street segment, Monster Clubhouse!

Both discs are great 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

These are both great DVDs. It's a bargain.

Silly Songs is a fun collection with many gems. The extended Put down the Ducky is the big closer but the whole DVD is mostly A grade with maybe one A- and one B- among selections. (no grade inflation)

Elmo's adventure is Peter & the Woolf at the Boston Pops within a story about music & cooperation. Hats off to the crew for making the cooperative points gently without getting in the way of the story. There's huge depth to this. My daughter followed the story before age 2, but there should be things for much older children to find & enjoy. It's a treat to see real musicians & instruments are featured.

so silly! 5 out of 5 stars.

so many classics are on here...honestly, we haven't seen the elmo story cd yet - but the SING YOURSELF SILLY is very entertaining...and brings back many memories...it's nice to share this with our child.

Sing Yourself Silly/Elmo's Musical Adventure 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought these videos for my 20 month old granddaughter. Although she's very young and can easily be distracted, she sat still through the entire showing of "Peter and the Wolf" where Elmo was the star. She adores Elmo and his friends and Sing Yourself Silly gets her on her feet and dancing. She wants everyone to dance with her. Good fun for everyone!! This product was well worth the small investment!

our toddler much preferred "1 2 3 count with me" 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Our two-and-a-half year old didn't like "learning about numbers" at all, except for one little sequence that show 2 girls playing with a dollhouse. he much preferred "1 2 3 count with me." the two dvds are actually quite different: the other one features elmo and ernie and feels very much geared toward young children while "learning about numbers" actually seems like they were trying to entertain children and adults at the same time by adopting a mock talk show format where big bird is supposed to be some kind of jay leno standup. plus there is a lot of "The Count" in that LAN, and our toddler didn't like him at all--a kind of dracula knockoff that struck him as kind of distasteful and even scary. "1 2 3 Count With Me" a much better choice, for us at least, and possibly for all 2 year olds. Could be "learning about numbers" is better tolerated by older children. Only weakness to "1 2 3 count with me" is that they give short shrift or even skip over certain numbers between 1-20. Some kind of brainless editing decision by somebody who didn't get enought sleep, no doubt. but our child much preferred it to "learning about numbers" Also: "learning about numbers" subjects you to a hyperactive commercial for some Sesame Street foundation at the beginning and doesn't let you bypass it!

My nephew absolutly loves this DVD! It teaches kids about dinosaurs while making it fun. There is also an Elmo claymation at the end, where he sings "If Elmo Had A Dinosaur" which is one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

Great service! 5 out of 5 stars.

Sesame Street - What's the Name of That Song 5 out of 5 stars.

My two year old loves this movie. We have a couple Sesame Street DVD and this is the best. And since I have to watch it also, it helps that I love it too!

My toddler LOVES this...and I don't mind it, either. :) 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This movie is a great attention getter for my toddler. It is the one video we have that captures his attention from beginning to end. And I don't mind the music, so it's not a bad choice for the not-so-background sounds. He dances along, claps to it, smiles and laughs...it's definitely his favorite. There are great songs and a mix of puppet characters and people singing.

The best collection of songs! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My 23 month old loves Ernie's "Do dee duck" song so thats what I got this DVD for. However, we quickly realized that its a great collection and our daughter enjoys all the other songs. She would point to the TV and say "La Di Da" whenever she wanted to hear it again. After a few weeks, she has even started singing a few of the songs word for word, (including actions). The singers are awesome and Patty's "ABC song" is awesome.

The story line is very simple - Grover sets off to find the one song that everyone can sing and Elmo and Big Bird help in the quest. In the end, they realize that everyone can sing their own favorite song and that makes the world more interesting and fun. So there's a nice message for the kids.

Paula Abdul is soooooo ANNOYING! 3 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

PAULA Abdul ruins the whole video, this woman is absolutely repulsive, from the snotty attitude to the crappy coordination. this video is for little kids, so it boggles me why they didn't include dance moves for little kids, she makes it very hard for a little kid to follow, heck even i couldn't understand her moves. they should have had her do something simple that a kid under 5 can follow.

Zoe is a cutie, but it's hard to bare to watch this while P. Abdul pierces through your scull with her annoying voice and attitude.

Editorial Review:

Get ready to dance! It's a toe-tapping, finger-snapping good time when Paula Abdul gives Zoe her very first dance lesson! Soon Sesame Street's favorite ballerina is learning how to step with pep in a ballet warm-up, get the beat in her feet from an African drum, be grand with her hands in an Asian dance, and just have fun with Zoe's own Silly Willy Nilly dance. And, that's not all! When Zoe's best friend Elmo joins in, everyone moves and grooves to a hip-hop, feel-good finale that will get you up and dancing along! Special DVD Bonus Feature: Paula Abdul's view on Dance, kids and growing up with Sesame Street! DVD includes free bonus CD sampler! Features 3 songs from Seasame Street's Hot Hot Hot Dance Songs!

What can you say--awesome dvd! My little 2 yr old watches this everyday!!! Would highly recommend!

What a lot of people reviewing this don't realize... 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

is that this is the first new episode of Sesame Street aired after 9/11. EVERYBODY was extremely scared, confused, and emotional for months after that. This was Sesame Street's answer to how we talk to our kids about the scary things that happen in the world. I think it is great that it shows that it's okay for Elmo to be afraid, but educating yourself on safety procedures helps ease the fear.

My daughter LOVES this DVD 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My daughter absolutely loves this DVD. Her father is a firefighter and I think it helps her understand things a little easier. She understands taht Elmo gets nervous and upset, but in the end always comments that he is "better now". She requests this specific DVD daily!

Editorial Review:

After a fire on Sesame Street gives Elmo a scare, he and Maria visit a real New York City firehouse. Finding out about all the protective clothes firefighters wear and practicing how to "Get Low and Go" helps Elmo feel safe again. And he even gets to slide down a real fire pole! Then a special Elmo’s World all about Firefighters helps kids understand much more about what to do if there is a fire.

ELMO'S WORLD IS A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

We have numerous Elmo's World DVD and we find them to be a treat to watch (daughter 2). We watch them everyday after coming home from daycare. We say hi to Dorothy each time we see her. We get a kick out of Mr. Noodle and Mr. Noodle's brother Mr. Noodle. We just love watching the children on the show, brush their teeth, get new clothes on and I especially enjoy watching when Elmo asks the baby. Elmo's world is very education and plus for any child over 2. My daughter wants to brush her teeth, get her shoes on, get dressed and do everything that the kids and Elmo do on the show. My daughter perfers Elmo, Barney or the Wiggles to regular TV. Two thumbs up, ELMO!

Editorial Review:

Listen closely, it’s a finger-snapping, toe-tapping good time! With help from Mr. Noodle, Rosita, Baby Bear and everyone’s favorite goldfish Dorothy, Elmo finds out all the different things his body can do as he plays patty cake, hops on one foot, wiggles his ears and more. Whether Elmo and friends are practicing sign language, playing soccer, or listening to music, this Elmo’s World video is the perfect place for preschoolers to learn all about their bodies and the world around them.

Elmo's Opposites 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I bought this for my 21 month old son who loves Elmo. This is by far his favorite. It reinforced what he already knew but he was interacting with the video itself by doing all of the things like going fast/slow, up/down, etc. My child isn't one of those kids that will sit and watch anything for very long but he watched this entire thing without running off. Even his five year old sister (who still loves Sesame Street) was having fun watching with him. Really cute, a favorite!

best idea 5 out of 5 stars.

Just wanted to say that my grandaughter is so taken with anything that Elmo does that at 18m she is so brilliant, LOL. she is enamored with Elmo so anytime we get something of his especially dvd's that she can watch, they are very affective. I am so greatful for these DVDs as is her mother!!!! He keeps her very interested in everything.

Editorial Review:

Join Sesame Street’s curious red monster as he explores opposites! Each episode comes to life in Elmo’s bright, exciting and very original room – the drawer, door, shade and TV all join in the fun. How do you go up and down on a see-saw? What types of things open and close? Which is faster, a tortoise or a hare? Elmo and his friends explore all kinds of opposites in this delightful DVD. Also featuring Elmo’s pet goldfish, Dorothy, the zany Mr. Noodle and the ever-adorable Super Grover.

Prefer the "Old School" to this line. 2 out of 5 stars.
9 of 13 people found this review helpful.

These are nowhere near as good as the "Old School" editions. These *might* be better than nothing, but I'm disappointed in the difference between them.
What they really need to do is expand on the Old School vols 1-3.

Not so bad 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 6 people found this review helpful.

This set is not so bad. I purchased this because it was less expensive per DVD than the other sets. My 18 month old daughter loves it! She was singing her ABC's in Target and it took me awhile to understand but she must have learned them on this DVD!

Editorial Review:

Abby Cadabby is a fairy-in-training who has just moved to Sesame Street. Will she make friends with all the Muppets, or is she too shy? Abby joins in a game of hide-and-seek, and finds out there is a lot to learn about living on Sesame Street.

This complete Sesame Street episode, available for the first time on DVD, also focuses on healthy habits and the things that make us special. Sleeping Beauty becomes "Leaping Beauty," we meet the detectives from Law & Order: Special Letters Unit, and Hoots the Owl sings a song with John Legend. Regular segments include Global Grover, Elmo's World, and Trash Gordon. Special guest Kristin Chenoweth stops by Elmo's World. This episode is brought to you by the letter M and the number 4.
