Falks I would like to apoligize for anyone who red my rewview for DBZ session 1. I am hardly ever wrong about anything but this time it looks like i messed up. ya see i told you guys that the picture wasn't cropped becasue alot of people were crying about the widescreen thing. well at the time i only had an old GE tv. a few days ago a bought a Vizeo flatscreent tv 26 inch and weeeeeell ya the picture is cropped BUT that still shouldn't be a problem ok so lets get on on the rest of the review

story. ya it goes trhough the entire cell games and some filler episodes it starts off after cell beat the hell ouf of trunks and it ends when Goku is like "hey King Kai lets like go on a roadtrip or whatever" so ya you get the whole thing and sume filler eposides as well.

I am still not liking the whole changed dialog thing i mean it's totaly ridiculus how they change some of the characters dialoge

the fight scenes are pretty good well to tell the truth the only cools fight scenes is when Gohan fights cell casue i mean when i saw Goku fight him I'm like "the hell man why don't you get really ruff and tuff like you did with Frieza" I man it looked like he was pulling his punches man.

the one thing that is super cools about this is that it "along with all the over seesions" is in HD. now i just realized that when i played it throught my new HD tv and i was like woh this picture is super clear so go out and buy this if your a hard core DBZ fan as for me i'm getting pumped up for the release of Dragon Ball GT

Some action, some comedy, good for the collection. 4 out of 5 stars.

I think this is one of the weaker seasons, but it's still DBZ, so it's still good. Get this if you are getting all the seasons, but don't start your DBZ experience with this set.

WOOT Funimation is speeding up the releases for these! 5 out of 5 stars.

I am very happy that Funimation is getting these out in a timely fashion. I have all DBZ seasons on old VHS tapes and I'm so happy to be able to get them on nice little DVD sets. Oh and the Marathon feature is great, no more constant interruptions by beginning and ending title themes. The Babadi and Buu sagas are great, hilarious (Babidi and Buu are so odd of a team), and full of action! This is also the first look at SSJ3!! Can't wait to add this set to my collection and throw away another set of bulky cluttering VHS tapes.

Oh and I would like to add that I'm happy that they picked a better cover for this season, I really didn't understand how Piccolo was all that big of a part of the Great Saiyaman/World Tournament sagas. But Majin Vegeta is absolutely perfect for this set.

Editorial Review:

The forces of good and evil have converged upon the planet Earth, and the fate of the universe hangs in the balance! The evil wizard Babidi has traveled across the galaxy on a quest for revenge, hoping to fulfill his father’s thwarted dreams of universal domination. Meanwhile, the Supreme Kai has come to enlist the aid of the Z-Fighters in an effort to prevent Babidi from completing his plans and awakening a monster of unimaginable terror—Majin Buu!

As Goku and the Z-Fighters descend into Babidi’s lair, they are confronted by an army of powerful minions, led by the Demon King Dabura himself! Can our heroes resist the wizard’s dark magic and battle their way through this host of villains before time runs out? With each passing second, more energy is gathered for the sleeping Majin Buu. And should this creature of pure evil be awakened, all life—everywhere—will be extinguished!

Season Eight contains the complete Babidi and Majin Buu sagas.

If you know the series than you already know... 5 out of 5 stars.

To quote Family Guy: Freakin' Sweet! I honestly have gotten so damn frustrated with Funimation over the years while trying to get DBZ on dvds without spending a fortune. Fortunately, I stopped getting the rip-off dvds (aka the ones they released at 15bucks a piece for THREE EPISODES...which at the time were still edited despite the claim to be otherwise). Anyways...on to the point...DBZ is and ALWAYS will be my favorite anime (or one of at least)...[not to say I dislike DB OR DBGT, but due to lionsgate's annoying and asinine behavior, I STILL have not seen Dragon Ball aside from some old VHS tapes I still have). So, simply put: if you love or just like DBZ enough to want or are merely curious about weather or not this would be a wise purchase...IT IS! Trust me, the ONLY THING bad is the damn subtitles not being true to the actual translations...which is more of a occasional thing (in other words...it basically censors the "profane language" by "interpreting the words differently")

Having returned victorious from their battle with Frieza the Z-fighters can at last breathe a collective sigh of relief... But they won't have long to rest. A new host of villains has appeared ready to wreak havoc on the Earth - and Goku the Z-Fighters' greatest hero is still missing! In the face of these new dangers a mysterious youth with Super Saiyan powers has come bearing a bleak prediction for the future: in just three years' time an evil greater than any the Z-Fighters have ever faced will emerge to cast a shadow of destruction and despair over the Earth. If the young Saiyan's prediction is correct the Z-Fighters will have to train like they have never trained before in order to have any hope against these seemingly unstoppable foes: the Androids!Format: DVD Genre: ANIMATION/ANIME UPC: 704400022463 Manufacturer No: 0

Wow, the digitally remastered version has so many extra scenes/episodes.

Definitely a great buy. This season is one of the best in Dragonball Z and I will never get sick of it.

Really good buy, Amazon has cheap prices but quality goods, even through standard shipping I got my goods within two and a half weeks and thats on the other side of the world!

It is Dragonball Z remastered, what more do you ask for? 5 out of 5 stars.

Classic 4 out of 5 stars.

If you grew up watching this show as a kid like I did, you'll love the dvd set. Don't expect a lot of extras or behind the scenes stuff--what is there is pretty boring. But as a person who does not do anime, this was a great buy and I'm planning on getting the other seasons.

DBZ: Season One 5 out of 5 stars.

This Was An Ejoyable Action Packed DBZ Season. Goku Vs Vageta Was The Most Greatest Battle's In This Season. This Has Great Digitally Remastered HD Picture. Which Is, They Cleared All The Black Spot's That Was On The Show's. Watching This On My Big Screen HD TV Was Even Better.

DBZ Was By Far My Favorite Anime, And Still Is. This Was An Awsome Action Packed Season. I Really Enjoyed This Vageta Saga.

I'd say this is one of the most important sagas in DBZ, and memorable to boot. The remastered video quality looks great, and the audio sounds perfect. Totally worth the money for a DBZ fan looking to buy it.

Dragon Ball Z - Season Three (Frieza Saga)

This is a great product. I have always loved watching Dragon Ball z, and seeing that the originality of the product was kept, made this product even better. The redigitalization of the anime is excellent, faithful, and uncut. You experience the anime in its true form. Also, this product contains many episodes for a cheap price. Definetly worth its money.

The big bang!! 5 out of 5 stars.

I purchased the DVD boxsets for the Dragonball Z series... seasons 1 through 7, and plan on buying the rest once they are released. These are excellent DVDs. The ability to run the episodes back to back as a 'marathon' series that cuts out the intro vids / credits between each episode is a great way to enjoy this series.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of this great anime series.

Not Quite as Expected... : ( 2 out of 5 stars.
3 of 6 people found this review helpful.

Ok, I'm an anime fan at heart. I recently bought my 92nd anime show and am still going on... Dragonball GT was the first anime I've collected. When i heard about the actual dvd coming out remastered and in a Season box set, I got really excited and expected lots; especially since I've really LOVED the Dragonball Z Season sets (GO ANDROIDS!!) But anyways, for some strange reason, my best buy likes to put things on shelf a week before they are REALLY supposed to be released. Knowing this, I hopped on over and purchased the season 1 set. Little did I know, the format of the show had completely changed. First of all, I like my anime how it's supposed to be and I can't stand when the american companies mess with the original japanese footage and stuff. Funimation changed the logo of "Dragonball GT" in both the original Japanese and English opening theme credits. They also completely took off the American Rap Opening Credits (which I wasn't much of a fan of) and switched it with some other person singing the original Japanese Opening with English words (no offense to the singer). For those that like the rap, sorry it's gone. Also, the screen is in Full Screen, not Widescreen. (Not that that matters to me). I could tell in certain parts of the show that it WAS remastered, but it wasn't that much of a difference from the original dvd releases Funimation did 3-4 years ago. Also, in the orginal releases, there was Japanese characters at the bottom of the screen for the original Japanese themes that played, but in this set, they completely took those off! I can't read Japanese, but taking off the words was still kind of like..."Why?" I don't mean to sound mean and I know it's just a dvd, but it was really not what I expected when I bought it. The only good thing that I liked was the fact that they had the English voice actors with the original Japanese music in the background. But the music seemed a bit quieter than the voices and sounds itself. Well, that's basically it. The box cover and back looks cool and all, but yeah. I think I've said what I wanted to say. If you don't mind the set containing and cutting the things that I mentioned, then price wise, it's WELL worth it. It contains the entire first half of the show and it's an easy way to see most of it if you haven't already. Funimation is great, but I've never really seen a problem like this before. The season itself is fairly long and still the show is enjoyable...so get it if you haven't....regaurdless of whatever set or individual dvds you purchase. ;)

All Good Things Must Come To an End =) 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

All good things must come to an end. The Dragon Ball GT name has been thrown in the mud ever since its release. Some fans really enjoy it and some just down right hated the entire concept. I for one found the series to be right in middle. It wasn't as great as DB or DBZ but it was still a series I could handle. You can tell from the very first episode that the magic is gone. The creator of the series really had little to do with the evolution of GT. That being said, it's probably a big factor as to why the series didn't do so well.
When the show initially aired in the US they skipped about 16 episodes which were later released and titled as "The Lost Episodes". That probably created some confusion among the masses.
If you've never seen Dragon Ball episode in your entire life, this is not the season to start with. If you start here you won't be lost. But considering what an affordable price it is, it's definitely worth picking up. The set includes the final remaining episodes and one OAV episode or a movie as the box set labels. I don't consider it to be a movie or an OAV as the animation was horrible. It seemed like a regular episode to me.
