This show is timeless as are all star trek shows.

Great season with a suprise ending! 5 out of 5 stars.

The next generation was the series that got me back into star trek and they (the series) kept getting better and better after this. It was cool to see this blend in with DS9. I don't know how, but I've never seen the season' end until I bought this set. (There aren't many episodes I haven't seen)
It was extremely entertaining to watch the seventh season in order. I have all seven seasons and this this one is the one I like to watch over and over (especially the season finale).

Too Expensive 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Too expensive. I paid over 60$ for it. I've noticed that the price has come down recently. I hope it's not a case of Amazon keeping track of their customers past purchases and then increasing the prices of items that they expect them to purchase later on. That would be a devastating thing to find out.

I gave it three stars. The content deserves five. The price brings it down to three.

Price Increase?! WHY!? 1 out of 5 stars.

I just watched the price of all Star Trek Boxsets jump over night from $35 to $50.....Why Amazon?

Fight For Humanity Or A Madman's Revenge? 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

That's the key question one should ask himself when viewing "Star Trek: First Contact." In this first solo outing for the TNG crew, Picard and the gang find themselves facing off against the highly popular villains called the Borg. Having been defeated every time they've battled the Enterprise, the Borg devise a plan to travel back in time to stop a key event in Earth's history and then (big shocker) assimilate everybody. In a heated and action-packed space battle, the Borg jump through time with the Enterprise E hot on their tale. The Borg cube is destroyed almost immediately, but this is only the beginning of a fast-paced and highly enjoyable action/dramatic yarn that goes so far as to question a particular crewmember's sanity.

While he isn't at the helm of the Enterprise in this film, Jonathan Frakes does call the shots behind the camera. He takes the screenplay crafted by Brannon Braga and Ronald D. Moore and blends just enough action into the script to keep the story moving at a good clip. As much as I enjoy TNG, I do have to say that the series was often weighed down by long and drawn out moments of dialogue. Frakes puts the brakes on these sequences at just the right time.

Patrick Stewart delivers a solid performance as Picard. Matching him scene-for-scene is Alfre Woodard in an excellent performance as a fish-out-of-water aboard the Enterprise. James Cromwell proves once again that he deserves bigger roles than the ones he usually gets. Brent Spiner is sufficient as always as Data and the rest of the crew do an excellent job as well.

The music and special effects are also very good. As stated before, the space battle sequence is amazing. There's also some zero-gravity action as well.

This two-disc set is an excellent addition to any Trek fan's collection (or, in this case, collective). The special features are a nice treat, and I personally enjoyed the audio commentary from Frakes. I highly recommend this action-packed space yarn to Trek fans as well as fans of excellent science fiction.

Editorial Review:

In their second big screen adventure, the year is 2373 and the crew of the Enterprise-E has learned the Borg has returned. Because of Captain Picard's past experiences with the Borg, Starfleet has ordered the Enterprise to stay out of the fight. Realizing too much is at stake, Picard disobeys orders and takes the Enterprise to Earth. His knowledge of Borg technology leads the Federation fleet to victory, but a Borg sphere escapes and opens a temporal vortex. The Enterprise pursues and travels back to April 4, 2063; the day before the first warp flight.

Star Trek The Next Generation - The Complete Fourth Season 5 out of 5 stars.

I ended up purchasing the entire series after sampling with season 4. Apparently the 4th was about the time when you got to see the actors doing a lot of the directing. This one has Jordi as a lizzard;Picard in France just freed from the Borg;Data plays his dad, himself, and brother;Whorf has a wife and a son; Wesley survives the dessert/saves Picard and runs off to the Academy;.. a good season.I was sad when it was all familiar again.

Plot holes galore, the absolute worst of Trek 1 out of 5 stars.

The movie's script is obnoxious, cheesy, uninspired, insipid, mundane, overwrought with unnecessary technical jargon and bogged down by ridiculously oversized plotholes. The best use for this movie is as a doorstop.

Show is of course excellent, some DVDs have a small part or two that won't play properly on any device. So that's a bit of a set back, but otherwise I am very happy with my purchase.

Series was fantastic. I purchased all 7 seasons separately. I just can't believe that it would cost less to buy all 7 than the complete series.

Oddly, my first real experience with Star Trek 5 out of 5 stars.

I actually bought this as a gift for my Trekkie parents who have only recently discovered the joy of boxed DVD sets. And I have to admit I watched it with them! Maybe I have not much with which to compare this, but I was impressed by the sheer fun and determination of the storylines. The entire setup of the DVDs, including packaging, was wonderul as well.

A Comedic Genius 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Though Star Trek: The Original Series is probably best known for its diverse cast of characters and mind-bending storylines, many fans of the show consider the comedic-style episodes of the show to be paramount to all others, as they allow the main characters to emote in non-formulaic fashions (remember Sulu brandishing a rapier, Spock hanging from a tree, or the Easter bunny in "Shore Leave"?).

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is a throwback to that style of episode. The film is bookended by moments of seriousness (which keep the film from falling too far outside the Star Trek cannon), but the meat of the story is hilarity all around!

The movie begins with the U.S.S. Enterprise crew heading back home (in a Romulan warship) to face the criminal charges stemming from Captain Kirk's decision to destroy the Enterprise. On the way back to Starfleet, however, the crew finds that the world is in great peril and set off back in time (to twentieth-century San Francisco) to make things right.

While in Frisco, the chaos (and hilarity!) begins. Whether it is Kirk and Spock trying to fit in among the locals, Scotty deciphering old computer technology, or Chekhov trying to find his "nuclear wessels", non-stop laughs abound.

When the Enterprise crew finally does return to Starfleet, the scene that follows is one of the most uplifting moments in the entire Star Trek cannon, effectively ending the Star Trek II-IV movie "trilogy" and giving the show new life in the future.

To conclude, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home is a rousing film filled with non-stop laughs. Though not as serious as all the other "Original Series" films, this movie has been embraced more than any other for its ability to lampoon both present and future cultures alike. If you just finished watching Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and are not in the mood for any more gut-wrenching scenes, this is the breathe of fresh air you need!

Should stay lost. 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The only reason i am reviewing this is because there are some reviews here that are wrongly giving Deep Space Nine a bad time! Voyager is dull and boring and the worst in the Star trek family it had so much potential and failed miserably.

Deep Space Nine is light years ahead and still stands up welll with todays Sci-Fi TV. It is deeper and tells a story it does not simply push a reset button each week and move on.

Voyager will not leave a lasting impression like DS9.

Voyager series a keeper 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Enjoyed this series on tv, and enjoying it even more now that I can watch it in its entirety. This series did a fine job of character development. I also like the occasional references to the previous series Deep Space Nine. Many of the special features are excellent as well, describing the technology of the time (some of it surprisingly simple), and how ideas for the show had some roots in real science. A quality viewing experience...

Last of The Great ST Shows 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

What can one say about ST:Voyager? It ran with top notch special effects and a well-selected cast. Though a great fan of DS9, ST:Voyager had a compelling storyline with a twist, a female captain, Katherine Janeway . This concept broke the old Star Trek mold by proving that a woman can be as "cowboy" as Jim Kirk, as "eloquent" as Jean-Luc Picard, and as "unyielding" as Benjamin Sisco. Season One lands the crew of the Intrepid-Class explorer Starship in the depths of the Delta Quadrant after an encounter with a space anomaly while chasing down the Maquis. This season is mostly about the integration and initial difficulties that a ship built for only 6 month deployments has to face over 75 years from home. Considering the lack of decent TV these days, I recommend that Sci-Fi and Drama fans grab ST:Voyager and set sail for the unknown.

Editorial Review:

In the first season of STAR TREK: VOYAGER, while in pursuit of a Maquis ship in the Badlands, Captain Kathryn Janeway and the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager are pulled into the Delta Quadrant. After making a decision that saves an entire species from being destroyed, but leaves both crews stranded, they must join forces to begin a 75-year journey across 70,000 light years of space to return to the Alpha Quadrant, the Federation and home.

I never saw the end, and instead of searching the television guides, I bought the last season on DVD. The interface is a bit funny, but excellent quality video and sound. I am enjoying it a lot!

Brilliant writing and acting close Voyager's curtain with a bang! 5 out of 5 stars.

Star Trek Voyager, in my opinion, is the best Star Trek series. I fell in love with the show about a year ago, when I finally decided to explore the Star Trek phenomenon. I was checking all channels to see when Star Trek was coming on, and Voyager was the first one I saw. I set my Tivo, and that night, I couldn't beleive what I saw. By coincidence, Spike TV was beggining the cycle again that day, and I started with Caretaker. I watched every single episode since then. A few months later, Spike's three episodes per day schedule had reached season seven. I first knew that season seven was going to be good after "Imperfection," which was the SECOND episode of the season. Actually, first if you don't count Unimatrix Zero Pt 2. That feeling of greatness returned the next day when I watched Drive. That episode told me, "This will be the greatest season so far." I was right. Skipping ahead to Q2, Q's third and final appearance on Voyager. That was when the writing REALLY got good. Heck, they even made an episode ABOUT writing in Author, Author! Every episode past Human Error is a classic, definetly. Endgame is my favorite episode in ALL of Star Trek, not just Voyager. The brilliant writing, magnificent acting, and amazing special effects end my favorite Star Trek series with a bang!
