Best season yet. 5 out of 5 stars.

I think this season was better than the first 3 put together! I can't believe how many bad things happen to these poor teens, but no matter what, their friendships always survive. They're always there for each other and I love when Lucas jumps in to protect his loved ones. They pretty much made their prom episode into a horror movie, which I won't complain about because I love scary movies. And Dan tried so hard to redeem himself, but...well, you gotta watch. In this season, a lot of secrets get revealed and I loved it. All I can say is that I highly recommend this show to anyone.

Editorial Review:

Twenty-two years ago, Sam (series star JARED PADALECKI) and Dean (series star JENSEN ACKLES) Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. As a result, their father, John (recurring guest star JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN - "Grey's Anatomy"), raised the brothers to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America...and he taught them how to kill it. Sam, however, wanted nothing to do with this violent and dangerous life, and he left it behind, until the day Dean appeared on his doorstep with troubling news. Their father had gone missing on a "hunting trip." Sam and Dean have spent the last year cruising the highwaysof the United States in their 1967 Chevy Impala, searching for their lost father and encountering creatures that most people believe exist only in folklore, superstition and nightmares. Along the way, they have battled the various supernatural threats--and each other as well, for their sibling rivalries and conflicts were never far from the surface. Finally, they found their father, just as he was closing in on the Demon who claimed their mother.

Brillant! 5 out of 5 stars.

What a brilliant series!!! Catherine Tate is wonderful and David Tennant continues his reign as my favorite Doctor. They (and Russell T. Davies) will be sorely missed.

Same great series..... 4 out of 5 stars.

I'll admit, I was NEVER a fan of the original Dr Who series. I thought it had some great ideas, but such poor production value (and horrible acting) that it was hard to sit through. What I love about this new show is how Russell Davies haw been able to keep the same great ideas from the original (as to please old fans) and push the special effects through the roof (to make it MUCH more watchable for the casual viewer like myself)! Oh sure it's got it's silly moments...okay sometimes VERY silly moments but I think that was done to make it more accessible to younger viewers and they never seem to get in the way of the great story telling.

Also what's terrific is the casting choices. David Tennant makes the Doctor character classic from his first episode (I'd go out on a limb and say it's like Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones!), and every companion is instantly likeable.

Now, after three seasons of greatness comes this fourth season. If you're a Dr Who fan, purchasing this DVD is a MUST. It again has everything that makes the series great and seems to add some more physical action this time around. If you havent seen the show yet, obviously you have to start with season one (2005).

As I said before this season has the same great elements as the previousa ones (and I love Catherine Tate as the Doctor's new companion), but I have to admit things seemed a bit more typical and by the book this time around. This isn't neccessarily a bad thing, but after the last three seasons, each topping the one before it, I thought the season just felt a bit more redundant. It just didn't WOW me like it did in the previous season (though they did set the bar pretty high). Again, I don't think this is a bad thing at all, just same old great story-telling.

Again, if you're a Dr Who fan: buy it (while the price is still low on Amazon), if your new to the series: start with season one. It's not to be missed!

CHRISTMAS AND THE GRINCH 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

What is christmas without the classic Grinch who stole Christmas. Boris Karloffs narrative and the Dr Seuss tale create a timeless classic loved by those young and old. A great treat for the whole family to watch. Ill have my 2 girls and wife together to watch this classic and bring in the holidays the way it should be. DOnt forget little cindy lou who ,who was no more than 2. CLASSIC

Ahhh, memories... 5 out of 5 stars.

I absolutely love my copy of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Horton Hears a Who. I did not notice any color variations or strange sound effects, so I'm guessing some people received a bad copy. However, this version is wonderful! I enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss growing up and this movie brings up happy childhood memories of Christmas! This is a great Christmas story for all ages with a good message behind it!

Editorial Review:

Every who down in Who-ville likes Christmas a lot, but the Grinch who lived just north of Who-ville did NOT! So the cuddly as a cactus Grinch (with termites in his smile and garlic in his soul) tries to wipe out Christmas for the cheerful Who-villains, only to discover: maybe Christmas, he thought doesn't come from as store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more! Magnificently narrated by Boris Karloff and animated by cartoon legend Chuck Jones, it's an award-winning Who-roast-beast-feast of a holiday classic!

i know that this dvd is A++++ but the discs would not play in any of my dvd players or in my computer. totally bummed

Not as excellent as expected 4 out of 5 stars.

While I really loved the two first seasons of It's Allways sunny, the third season is not as excellent. There are many reasons: to seom degree they push irreverence somewhat too far even for me. Some episodes like the double "The gang gets whacked" are simply not that great, in that episode the sophomoric drug humour is somewhat tiring. The themes are: the gang finds a dumpster baby (which is an OK episode) and overall the first half of the season is rather good but it tnds to spiral downwards after the second disc: themes are: teh agng sells out, frank sets sweet dee on fire, sweet dee is dating a retarded person, mac is a serial killer...oh boy. And this stuff is not really that funny. One point is that even in the first two seasons, adding Danny DeVito was not such a great idea, since his character tends to be more over the top and mroe gross than the rest to are really silly and funny. Anyway as I sa, the first disc is very good and those episodes stand up with wtaht we had seen before.

Supernatural - The Complete First Season 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

As this is one of my absolute must see TV shows, it is easy to give this item a rave review. I didn't get tostart watching supernatural until the middle of the second season and was blown away by the well written scripts and the interplay between the main characters. Not since The X Files has a show been able to hold my attention for a complete hour and yet it always leaves me wanting more. So being able to watch the first season where John Winchester plays an important part has answered a lot of questions, and at the same time opens an entirely new set of questions which I hope the writers get season after season to answer!

Editorial Review:

Bound by tragedy and blood to a dangerous, otherworldly mission, two brothers travel in mysterious back roads of the country in their '67 Chevy Impala, searching for their missing father--and hunting down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way. Bring home all 22 episodes of the first season of the thrilling new show, Supernatural along with must-own bonus features. Supernatural is a completely new kind of thrill ride that takes viewers on a journey into the dark world of the unexplained.

Episodes, not movies!!! 1 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

With the exception of the first movie Bender's Big Score, the Futurama movie formula has shown (sadly) that it just doesn't work. Both Bender's Game and the even worse Beast with a Billion Backs feel like exercises in padding out an episode to make it reach that magic 90 minute running time. When do we get to the plot??!! - I kept asking myself as I watched these last two installments, as pointless diversion built upon pointless diversion. The simple and sad fact is that these movies feel like a Futurama episode with all the deleted scenes left in. And there are other writing problems too - where is the character development, or humor that comes from the characters? Bender's Game has an interesting message about fuel shortages, but that just gets buried in all the padding - the entire dungeons and dragons fantasy bit is a complete detour from the plot. And unlike the first film, which delved into Leela and Fry's relationship, Bender's Game gives us zilch, while the previous movie just undermines the first one by having Fry forget all about his love for Leela. In Bender's Game, even Bender goes off on some pointless detour in search of his imagination - somewhat ironic considering the quality of writing here. Futurama fans, Fox simply isn't going to commission more of this, or a feature-film - not after seeing the last two films. The only way to save Futurama is to campaign for a fresh season of episodes - that is where Futurama belongs and that is where it shines. If they wanted to stick to this formula, they could release DVD sets of four episodes at a time. These movies are making me turn against a show I have loved for so long, and that is sad. Episodes, not movies!!!!

Editorial Review:

With fuel prices skyrocketing, the Planet Express crew sets off on a dangerous mission: to infiltrate the world's only dark-matter mine, source of all spaceship fuel. But deep beneath the surface lies a far stranger place... a medieval land of dragons and sorcery and intoxicated knights who look suspiciously like Bender. So park your hover-car and saddle up your unicorn for Futurama's grandest adventure yet: BENDER'S GAME!
