As light and frothy as the Vivienne Westwood wedding gown that's an unofficial fifth star, the film version of Sex and the City is both captivatingly stylish and sweetly sentimental. Viewers who loved hanging with Carrie Bradshaw and her three pals during the series' TV run will feel as though no time has passed. Except that it has: Carrie and Big are poised to make a Big Commitment; Miranda and Steve are facing the breakup of their wonderful family; Charlotte and Harry have added to their brood; and Samantha (are we sitting down?) has been devoted to hunky Smith for five full years. Still, in all that time, the women's style, conviviality, and appetite for bons mots have only grown. When practical attorney Miranda learns that Carrie is considering moving in with Big (in possibly the coolest apartment in Manhattan), she can't help but frown in that but-you-might-lose-everything way. Carrie's retort: "For once, can't you feel what I want you to feel--jealous?!" The cast is spot-on, as always. Sarah Jessica Parker is effortless as the angst-ridden yet practical, stylish yet vulnerable Carrie. Kim Cattrall is deliciously decadent as Samantha, but she's wiser now and knows herself and her needs for a real relationship. Kristin Davis, as Charlotte, has quietly become the most gorgeous among the beauties, her sleek presence both winsome and sophisticated. And Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) shows nuance as a woman torn between betrayal and grudging hope. Supporting roles include Candice Bergen as the Vogue editor who anoints Carrie "The Last Single Girl in New York," and Jennifer Hudson, as a starry-eyed, ambitious romantic who represents the new generation of SATC women. Through it all, New York is a benevolent cocoon that envelopes and nurtures the women and their friendships and careers. Grey's Anatomy season 4 has drama that will make you cry, comedy that'll have you rolling on the floor laughing. It's the perfect mix of all the best shows all in one. I reccomend this to everyone who enjoys a good cry and laugh while watching the same show!

Season Two of Heroes is a good season, but not a great season. It pales in comparison to the second season. I will put this blame on the writer's strike that occurred at the time. Overall, I would still recommend this season to anyone.

The only problem I have with this installment to the series, Is that it is too short. (It is only really a half season do to the writers strike) It had been so long I actually went and watched the first season again to refresh what happened. I watched this entire set of disks in a single day. I couldn't stop till it was all watched.

This was the only film I saw this summer on the big screen and perhaps that's why I found it an initial disappointment. (I don't get out much). I think it was impossible to live up to all the hype associated with the opening. Having forgotten about it, I received the DVD as a gift and was reluctant to watch it again. But I'm certainly glad I did. With lowered expectations, I found this to be an enjoyable visit with the glamorous New York characters, Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Miranda Hobbs and Charlotte York Goldenblatt.

Make no mistake, above all else this is a fashion show. (A bright blue Manolo Blahaik with a five-inch heel is even used in place of a diamond ring). When the show was still on television I used to say my favorite part about it was the writing with fashion a close second. For the film it was the other way around. Because the characters are so well known their behaviors and lines at times come off as cliché. There is, however, the occasional surprise with some laugh-out-loud lines and some highly emotional moments. True fans of the show will definitely feel it's worth the watch.

What I liked best about this film is the focus on RELATIONSHIPS (on several levels) and how they evolve. I believe the whole concept of the Sex and the City industry is that even the most fanciful characters face real-life problems . . . it's just that they look really gooooooood while they do.

I thought the Homer Head box was the pinnacle of stupid in this series, but this one takes the grand prize as the absolute worst DVD packaging I have ever seen. The discs are imprisoned in incredibly tight cardboard sleeves. It is impossible to get the discs out without either bending the cardboard artwork, getting your finger prints on the bottom of the disc, or scraping the disc across the cardboard in a desperate bid to remove and watch them. The whole travesty is then folded up tight, accordion-style. Unfolding the packaging simply makes the discs impossible to remove. You have to jam your fingers into the folded version and hope you don't ruin the disc just trying to get it out.

Whoever designed this mess should be fired.

Ok. This is the Simpsons season 11. You already know if you like the series. Regardless about how you feel in regards to the eleventh season of this series, DO NOT BUY THIS.


Fox has changed the packaging and managed to create one of the worst and least protective boxes for a DVD ever! Seriously, it's a damn cardboard folder that you slip the discs into a sleeve. I've seen $5 computer software come in better cases than this. Between this and the horrible Futurama movie cases, Fox is trying hard to make the chintziest cases around. It must end!

A more accessible and less heavy-handed movie than Ang Lee's 2003 Hulk, Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk is a purely popcorn love affair with Marvel's raging, green superhero, as well as the old television series starring Bill Bixby as Dr. David Banner and Lou Ferrigno as the beast within him. Edward Norton takes up where Eric Bana left off in Lee's version, playing Bruce (that's the character's original name) Banner, a haunted scientist always on the move. Trying to eliminate the effects of a military experiment that turns him into the Hulk whenever his emotions get the better of him, Banner is hiding out in Brazil at the film's beginning. Working in a bottling plant and communicating via email with an unidentified professor who thinks he can help, Banner goes postal when General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross and a small army turn up to grab him. Intent on developing whatever causes Banner's metamorphoses into a weapon, Ross brings along a quietly d! eranged soldier named Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth), who wants Ross to turn him into a supersoldier who can take on the Hulk. The adventure spreads to the U.S., where Banner hooks up with his old lover (and Ross' daughter), Betty (Liv Tyler), and where the Hulk takes on several armed assaults, including one in a pretty unusual location: a college campus. The film's action is impressive, though the computer-generated creature is disappointingly cartoonish, and a second monster turning up late in the movie looks even cheesier. Norton is largely wasted in the film--he's essentially a bridge between sequences where he disappears and the Hulk rampages around. As good an actor as he is, Norton doesn't have the charisma here to carry those scenes in which one waits impatiently for the real show to begin. --Tom Keogh

The 7th Season of Smallville is great! We start to see more and more glimpses of Super Man in Clark. Clark and Lana start growing apart and you start to see that there is something between Louis and Clark. Another great season!

Husband and son were just completed season seven. We can honestly say that this was the BEST season of Smallville. The season was filled with excitement and suspense. We have recommended it to all of our friends. We cannot wait to see what will happen in season eight.

DEXTER is a crime drama about Dexter Morgan a man who leads a double life as an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Police Department and as an emotionless vigilante serial killer. Taught by his foster father to harness his lust for blood and killing Dexter lives by his own strict moral code - he only kills murderers who can't otherwise be brought to justice. Dexter is a killer who grapples with fitting into society while at the same time he struggles with his inability to feel emotion. The irony of Dexter's life is that he works closely as a blood splatter analyst with the very people who hunt his kind - the homicide department. Dexter's "Regular Joe" front is in full force while working alongside the ill-tempered Sgt. James Doakes who seems to be the only one to sense Dexter's more sinister side and Lt. Maria LaGuerta the head of the division who pursues Dexter sexually with as much force as she would any criminal. While his sister Debra Morgan a tough and determined cop leans on Dexter for personal advice and career advancement the closest one Dexter "connects" with is Det. Angel Batista whose similar attention to detail and taste for forensics almost mirrors his own.
