Overall the L Word fifth season was great. As all of the rest of them were. I just have one problem and I don't know how to take care of it. On the last disc of season 5, there were suppose to be three shows. It said so on the inside of the case and the last show on that disc showed what had previously been played. However, I was unable to get anything but the last show on disc 5 to play. Nothing else showed up. So I believe that I got a disc that was not copied right. It ruined seeing the last disc because it showed things we actually hadn't seen ourselves. Please tell me what I can do about this. I don't like paying for things and not getting all of it. Thank you.

Wonderfull. Great acting especially by Jeannifer Beals and Laurel Holloman. Great Music. Each episode includes problems and occurances that could happen in everyones lives. Don' we all wish we had a group of friends as loyal as these gals.

I've spent the past 2 weeks watching seasons 1-4 (and I'm totally jonesing waiting for 5 to become available on DVD)and I almost feel I need to rewatch them all for perspective on the series so far. I have found each episode in each season to be immensely amusing, sometimes very touching, always interesting. I like that the plotlines address all facets and experiences of lesbian life.
My only complaint, really, is the out of control overt politicization so pervasive in the fourth season. I'm aware that most lesbians (in my experience) are rabidly and radically (and oppressively) Left. But for me, the rare Republican/Libertarian, the completely unrestrained Bush-bashing of season four somewhat took away from the overall quality of the series as a whole.
I wonder how these characters, or their real life counterparts, would fare in a country controlled by Wahabi fascists? If they think the Christian Right has an agenda (and it does) for dealing with "alternative lifestyles", that's nothing compared to the Islamic "final solution". Wake up, Lesbians of America. Remember 9/11?

Killing off the best character and then replacing her with several new ones who not only aren't interesting, they are sometimes actually painful (or painfully boring) to watch onscreen? I loved this show until the 3rd season came out. If I was a less patient person I would have given up after this point. Thankfully, the show starts redeeming itself in season 4.

It is interesting, or worrisome, how many people comment about their preception of Jenny's
"stupidity" or how "borning" the character is. I find the character's succintness soooo satisfying. She consistently nails people in rather few well-chosen words. She sees who the people around her are and tells them "like it is". During the early first season I found the Jenny character cloying and really annoying. But as I watched her evolve throughout the three seasons I found I really respect her as a woman who says what she means and means what she says. She's real and true to herself and her hard-won truths. Instead of zipping by the Jenny parts of the various episodes, I wish some of you would really hear what she has to say. Maybe you would see her for who and what she is and where she's been. How many of us truly meet and grapple with our demons and come out of the struggle with our hearts and minds not only intact but also with our wits honed to such a fine edge?
Season Three finds Jenny as well as all the other characters more deeply immersed in their "s**t" than ever before. I think this season depicts the pain and strength of Jenny, Dana, Alice, Billie, Bette, Helena, et al. and their ability to deal with the unfairness and complexity of life. Some may find this boring. I find it moving, involving, uplifting and wonderful. How sad some reviewers see Jenny's scenes as an ocassion to "fast forward to the sexy parts". Is that all your lives are about?

This is absolutely the funniest, sexiest and most intriguing season of the L Word Series... Its the season when Sole Mates Alice n' Dana build a relationship, Carmen and Shane have sexy love affairs then finally discover they belong together, Bette n Tina divorce, then reconcile, then start their family with baby Angelica, Jenny faces her fears and begins to find her voice, Kit gets the greatest gift-a new beginning and the main reason why I love this season is because its the last few performances of Ossie Davis! But I must say Season 4 was breathless I now own all seasons! Can't wait til Season 6 sad thats its coming to an end. I am however writing a screen play for a Black Lesbian Drama series...maybe you all will writie a review for that.. 1love

This show went downhill in a hurry when it summarily dismissed its most interesting character, Marina. I watched the first season and was so intrigued with her. Then the first episode of the second season...well, did they really think we would buy that this smart, sexy and intelligent woman would try to KILL herself over of all people..the dysfunctional Jenny? I got half-way through the second season and found myself bored. The L Word really messed up when the let go its only true woman in the the lot of girls. What a waste of a tremendous talent.

Hmmm - Not Blu-Ray and Maybe Better To Wait For the Entire Series? 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a terrific temptation, especially if you don't already own any of the series DVDs. After all, how tempting is it to have 5 seasons worth of episodes instantly available! So much better than buying individual episodes and cheaper than buying each year separately. It is an incredibly long stretch between seasons, and a 5-year set provides a lot of viewing!
The downside, and the reason for 4 stars, is that at this point, it would be better to buy the series in Blu-Ray, as the HD format wars are over, and with the final season coming, it seems sort of weird to buy such a "so close but yet so far" set. Still, the Blu-Ray point is stronger. I think I would regret not having an HD version in a year or two. Come on, Eileen - where's the Blu-Ray version!?

It's great to have all of the seasons together. I end up watching way too much L Word, but it's worth it! I'm super happy that I have all of the episodes to watch whenever I feel like watching them.

This show depicts the life of lesbians in a different world and yet they are also showing situations that are really met by lesbians. It is good to see this kind of shows especially since the place I am in is so restricted and most lesbians are closeted cause we have so many homophobics here. THIS SHOW ROCKS!!!

The L Word is a groundbreaking hit series on Showtime which got me hooked!
It's one of the greatest show on television. The L Word to me, represents the different lifestyles in the LGBT community. The love, friendship. affairs, arguments, sex, lust, family, all 'real life' issues are laid out in this show. This show changed the way I think and it changed my life. It's a sexy, hip, it's a phenomenal series. Don't let others fool you, this show is the best show ever and it has one of the best actresses ever. Ilene Chaiken is remarkable what she does! If you are a hardcore fan of The L Word, get this package. It's worth it! I love it! We need more shows like this, keep breaking that class ceiling. More glasses needs to be swept.

The item was not for me. I have never seen this program. Looks interesting and fun, but i was not very happy paying £16.08 in custom charges, when it was not made clear to me. If i would have known i wouldn't of got it. I didn't get it from the UK site because you don't sell it.
That said nothing damaged worked fine and the person was pleased.
