Best show on TV!! 5 out of 5 stars.

This was actually the second DVD I'd purchased of the same show, same year. That's because my son and daughter-in-law, also addicted to the program, had borrowed my copy and were reluctant to give it back. This 1st year DVD collection is especially fine because it features lots of extras --interviews with all the principal actors and the director and the writer. Trust me --you can't go wrong if you are a serious "Bobby and Alex" fan!

Law and Order CI 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a good 1st season set for the series of Criminal Intent. I strongly recommend this if you are a fan.

L&O CI: 1st yr 5 out of 5 stars.

I have not been this satisfied with a cop show in a long time. Law and Order the original was such a good show and kept my attention, with CI coming on board, Law and Order is even better. I have to say that CI is my favorite and I hope that it's on TV for a long time to come. The acting is great by Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe, really a grat show.

Quick delivery 5 out of 5 stars.

Great show - but where's the rest? 5 out of 5 stars.

'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' is one great cop show. With a detective like Goren to surprise us every week with his skills is something to behold. Which, of course, in the real world means this series has incredible writers. Dick Wolf's 'Law & Order' franchise includes some great series - the original 'Law & Order', 'Law & Order SVU', but Criminal Intent is my favorite as I like like good old-fashioned detective, cop shows. It's rarely been done better.

However, unfortunately, this is a NBC-Universal project which means it's a Universal DVD property. For those that don't know - they are NOTORIOUS for beginning series on DVD and after a season or two, dropping them cold. No release for this series in going on two years now, it looks like another Universal casualty. Add that to classics like Dragnet (one season and out), Adam-12 (one season and out), Emergency (one and out); and even classic comedy series that deserved the best treatment: Leave It To Beaver - two seasons and no more. Universal does this time and time again and it's getting where I don't trust Universal when they begin a series release on DVD. Season Four for 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent', anyone???

Addicted 5 out of 5 stars.

I had always loved Law & Order SVU and was expecting to see much more of the same when I started buying the Criminal Intent box sets. I was blown away. The reason was Vincent D'Onofrio, truly amazing in his role as Detective Robert Goren. He is somehat of an eccentric, nerdy, almost crazy individual who somehow manages to get to the bottom of the case precisely because he is eccentric, nerdy, and almost crazy. Unlike the other Law & Order franchises where the plot/story has been more important than the characters, in Criminal Intent, the opposite is true. It is Goren's character that carries this show. I have watched all the episodes at least twice and am now completely adddicted.

Second Season a Great Year! Just one gripe with the DVDs. 5 out of 5 stars.

The five star rating is for the show and not for the DVDs.

It all came together for 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' in the second season. As a fan of cop shows back to the some of the first on TV, this series ranks in the top 5. Goren is simply incredible and the entire cast was in full stride in Season Two. Great stories, great acting, great television.

My gripe with the DVDs is that they began putting a synopsis before each episode along with cast details, etc. You click for the selected episode and you are then presented with all this information before you must click again to actually play the episode. That would be all fine and good - except - the synopsis for several of the episodes are complete spoilers! Just one example would be the season's second episode 'Bright Boy' where they tell you in the synopsis who is responsible for the murders! So, be warned, don't read them if you still want to watch Goren work his magic and still be surprised as it unravels for the perp.

The other issue, of course, is that Universal has apparently chosen to drop Law & Order: Criminal Intent from their DVD offerings after three seasons. They are the worst of the worst when it comes to starting a series and then dropping it after a season or two. They've done it to some classic series that deserved much better. Strangely, Universal released Season 3 BEFORE Season 2, so actually this is the last we've heard from Universal on this show. What a pity. 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' deserved the full treatment. Maybe they will reconsider? Many of us are ready and waiting for Season Four!

Now that the first season is out SKIP THIS Rip-Off! 3 out of 5 stars.

The episode contained here is a very good one. And I can think of nothing bad to say about it. And the documentary is very good as well. But you get the SAME episode and the SAME documentary {no other extra's though} PLUS 22 more episodes with the first season set. If you can not afford the first season set this would be better than nothing. But if you can afford it, avoide this and buy the first season. Had I known the first season DVD's were comming 5 months ago I WOULD HAVE!!

Real fans should boycott these piecemeal releases 2 out of 5 stars.

This is typical of a bad DVD release. It looks like a crude attempt to extract as much revenue as possible from large base of loyal fans. Some reviewers who wax lyrical over the 'special' interview features and "insight into the show" in this single episode DVD either work for the publisher or miss the point that any of these items could have been included in a 'full season' release. This piecemeal approach is frustrating for real fans of the series who, to date, have seen only one complete season released. I for one will protest with my wallet. It stays shut until the complete seasons are released.
